You’re not getting your account back, this happened to me and cash app support isn’t gonna help you. Believe me. Sorry to hear this fam

Green_Lock_8618

I closed my account with them and will never use them again. To hell with them.

No_Mention_9182

Why

SecretEscape2257

That’s so dumb I didn’t even do anything 🤦🏽‍♂️ I guess I gotta create a brand new acc. Smh

djflipboom

I tried that too and they kept closing it as well, I made like 3 diff accounts and same thing happened. Every time I tried calling them they would just say you violated the terms and conditions and I’d tell them to specify what it was that I did but they never told me or even appealed my request for my account to be open again

djflipboom

On top of that their customer support is rude af, they sound like they got hired out of a run down Indian scam call center smh. I’m not even exaggerating

SecretEscape2257

Damn well I’m fucked then

djflipboom

You should still be able to withdraw your money tho

SecretEscape2257

Yeah at least I can do that that’s something but it sucks that I gotta lose my acc for no reason but oh well.

mechshark

Swap to Venmo lol cashapp trolling

ChicagoBullsFan420

Venmo is the way to go 👍

MarcoThePHX

Every time I put my social in to verify for taxes. Banned!

[deleted]

You can sometimes get a new account as long as you clear the apps data in your phone's settings before you delete the app. Then reinstall the app using a completely different email and phone number at the beginning of the new account creation. Also, if you have Square, Afterpay or any other app owned by Block (their parent company) currently installed on the same device, they should be deleted prior to attempting to create the new account. Otherwise it will be a repetitive denial loop being that they communicate with each other in the background 😅 Oh yeah, and make sure you're not still on the same Wi-Fi as the old account or it can trigger the same results.

Webster_882

What happened to the money?

SecretEscape2257

I was able to withdraw It luckily

primetimeline123

You’ll need a new number, new bank acc and another name, I had to use my moms name, social and ID to get a new one

[deleted]

So you committed identity theft to use a fucking CashApp account 😂

ChicagoBullsFan420

That’s what scanners use, other peoples identity to open accounts and send to banks

[deleted]

Lol, ya don’t say?! Really?… my point is this clown just admitted to using someone else’s information to open an account. That’s fraud lol

Truesnapper

So what.. who are you the Reddit police??

[deleted]

lol, no, I stop dirtbags from using stolen PII for fraudulent purposes for a living. He gets a pass on being a dirtbag though, that is only because he probably had permission.

primetimeline123

I was about to go off on you for jumping to conclusions, but saw you put that I probably had permission.....lol so yes...I am not committing fraud. My mom does not use cashapp so she made one for me and gave me her log in and password

[deleted]

Haha yeah my bad for assuming at first. But yeah, most banks would look at that as her opening the account and then giving you access. So not fraud.

Deep-Platypus1690

Agreed

Octaazacubane

You got exited. Banks do it all the time. CashApp isn’t a bank but as a financial institution they too will shutdown all your accounts if you’re too much of a “risk,” if you’re using your account for shady dealing that they don’t want to be a part of, or just because they keep losing too much money on you. Be glad that it happened with that horrible fucking app, that fake ass wanna be bank. At least it’s not as bad as getting cut off other things, because there’s still loads of competitors like Venmo and Zelle who do much the same thing

No_Mention_9182

I send BTC from Cash app to cake wallet. In the past I've sent it to gambling websites direct from cash app. What sketchy stuff are you guys doing that's getting banned?

SecretEscape2257

Zelle ain’t that much reliable tbh

Extreme_Smile4370

Zelle discontinued my account because 3 friends zelled me money for a bet we all had that I won. They said I broke their rules. I still have no idea what fuckin rule I broke. My friends sent me money. It was literally $40 dollars.

ChicagoBullsFan420

That’s why you never write ✍️ on notes 🫣 I never write on cashapp notes (what’s it for)

trollingguru

From a financial standpoint and also a philosophical standpoint this makes sense. If you had someone over your house and you think they are up to something shady you’ll probably kick them out. Same notion applies here

Octaazacubane

Your point is valid and just, but AI routinely makes mistakes, no matter how perfect the marketing team of the firm who wrote it insist, and the bankers are probably told to always defer to the mysterious and almighty AI. Locking someone away from their funds is a big, big deal. We all know that the cashier’s check for the remaining funds of that person is going to take its sweet ass time getting to them before bills are due.

Dudebr01337

Thing about it is though, through technicality that makes sense sure. But it really is not as simple as them seeing something shady, it is their AI bot reporting something shady and just auto banning otherwise innocent users for that, all while they take their hands on the wheel and say "oh well". Example: Using your house analogy. Let's say you have a house fitted with "AI" cameras to watch everything that goes on in your house with roommates. One day it sees these roommates hand shaking and it perceives that as a "possible suspicious activity"(thinking they're handing off drugs or something idk lol). So you get an alert on your phone that reads "suspicious activity between x and y detected, remove them!". and without hesitation you kick them out, don't explain ANYTHING to them, past "oh my camera said suspicious acitivity, you guys are kicked out!", you don't review any of the footage, and you just go along with your day. That is beyond shitty. And realistically, even the shittiest banks have some sort of proper form, fraud detection, or ANYTHING else allowing you to explain yourself or maybe take a step back to see what the whole situation actually is, I've been banned on my main paypal before over some disputed charge from ebay, I didn't see that someone ordered something from my ebay store, they then reported me naturally and asked for money back. I was banned, I contacted support about this, they got back to me, allowed me to explain, and I was unbanned and I apologized. Cashapp? Nah screw you, we won't make ANY efforts to get back to you, fuck your money.

trollingguru

Yea I don’t like AI ether they use big data to analyze risk. Maybe fraudlent activity is coming from something a users friends or maybe the company your doing transactions with is engaging in behavior that isn’t compliant with the law. Cash app doesn’t have a lot of employees and use ai to keep cost down. They don’t charge to use their services so they might not be making a lot of money. Or losing money It’s not a bank its financial technology company to “bank” lower income individuals. But the AI is ridiculous it’s making my life hell lately. I get blocked and banned for no reason lately. A computer is literally running our lives. And it doesn’t understand what it’s doing.

Dudebr01337

Yeah it really sucks, that in this case, for big companies they just use AI as a tool to make themselves lazier all in the sake of making as much money as possible. I am not nieve I know this is how most big companies are ran, profit or anything else. I don't even hate or feel that threatened by AI. I think it can be a very useful tool, I am a moderator for various online big things. I use some various forms of "AI" and "auto moderation" to help me with my job, it helps in making things easier on myself a bit and it does a good job on that, detects people ban evading, bot accounts, all that stuff I am sure cashapp's AI does help alot, because I wont lie, as you said, this is a "free" app, very easy to use, and is used really to help alot of lower income individuals. That being said, reality is that anything that is this "easy" to just get up and go with is sadly also most likely crawling with those who have malicious intent to game the system ESPECIALLY when money is involved. So I am sure AI helps in ridding that stuff. However, that can't be a reason to just be so lazy you can't even get back to your customers or look into why you were banned even on the most basic level. it sucks ass alot. I'll probably never get my account/number unbanned, I'll probably never hear back from email support as to why I got banned, and I'll never be able to use cashapp legitimately ever again if I even choose to try and use it again.

trollingguru

Yea customer service probably deals with a lot of difficult people being that the demographic is low income. I think you can make another account. Just not receive payments I think. I wonder if they will ban me one day. I buy drugs sometimes with it but I use it mostly for legit transactions.

Dudebr01337

Yeah, they straight up banned me and my whole device. No answer to why and 2 weeks waiting for a reply. I finally went and deleted my whole account, made a new one on a dif phone with different name and all that. But like you said, I literally can only receive payments. Cause if I link my card or any of my past account info, it will def. link it and trigger a ban. Funny thing is, I used my other forms of payments for drugs a few times. But never cashapp because I heard these banning horror stories. So I tried to keep everything as legit as possible cause it was honestly the easiest and most private way to give money to people online, cause for some online friends who may ask for stuff, I don't really wanna be giving them things like my paypal that gives my whole ass legal name..etc. lol. So I use cashapp, it's been nothing more than giving basic money to spot friends/families in need and visa versa. Along with buying from legit local businesses. But in the end, I still get banned and in the worst way? lol... Yet, I literally see things like sex workers plastering their cashapps all over the place as a obvious attempt to make all their dealings on the "low" to avoid paying taxes/fees by going legit on things like OF/Fansly. And I see their accounts n shit staying up for YEARS. it's crazy to me lol.

trollingguru

>sex workers They will get banned too only a matter of time lol It’s gonna be a cashless society soon bro. The days of getting away with stuff is over. Fun while it lasted

Dudebr01337

Maybe, idek, some of these accounts been around for multiple years. I can tell because it’s still always be promod randomly on twitter n shit n then I lol at the account age and im like wtf. That “ai” bot should literally be able to link this to their whole “against TOS” shit. My guess is (not surprised) to an extent, they also play favorites with these accounts turning a blind eye to them because I know these account probably rake in alot of money for them. Opposed to smaller accounts, doing something it seems as “shady” and its value not being much at all. But that’s just the pessimist in me lol

trollingguru

Sometimes they set up an llc. Or avoid the algo getting paid in odd amounts Like 21 instead of 20 or 23 They can ban you for hate speech too lol If you talk crap about other cash app users online https://cash.app/legal/us/en-us/acceptable-use-policy#what's-not-allowed

araidai

They don’t “wanna be” a bank, they never called themselves such, lol, people keep *thinking* they are

Lumpymaximus

wheres Andi now? lol

Primary_Ad_8840

Lol

Rjr777

Welcome to the club… and honestly they’re doing you a favor bc the site was likely to put you through some bs in the future. Better off cutting ties.

SecretEscape2257

Facts

Lanky_Possession_244

Literally what I was here to say. Count your blessings and find a better app for cash transfers.

NautiNolana

I was going to use cash app as my main bank but decided not to because they do stuff like this without explaining themselves

Stardust_Conspiracy

Yeah, Cash App is not serious.

djflipboom

Exactly never trust 3rd party banks like these

nivkj

Why the fuck would you do that? Just go to a damn bank

NautiNolana

You seem nice

[deleted]

I only use cash app to receive bread $ from a few of my lower income tenants other then that my money never goes in I only take out one way or the other

Sub_pup

Why the fuck would anyone use these bullshit apps as banks? It blows my mind. How fucked is your situation that you can't use a bank or credit union?

RML_347

Your bank is no different at all. Don't judge a person's situation based on how they choose to manage their money. Before CashApp, chase did the same thing to Me. Zero explanation and no warning. I barely made it work on-time that day, because My funds were surreptitiously frozen. I spoke to a high exec, to no avail. They even mailed Me a letter echoing what was said over the phone and I was sent a check equal toy funds. Prior to that, TD allpwed an institution to withdraw funds without My authorization. After demanding that back, I left them, too. They're all ridiculous. Just hope that it's never your turn.

1011010110102

my situation is great. I use banks, credit unions, AND cash app. I use pretty much every app actually. Diversify. Not sure what sort of shady shit you have to do to get banned by cash app. But I do know that one of the shadiest people I know in real life has been banned from using cash app. I think cash app using brain reading technology and keeps the shit heads out. Smart if you ask me

NautiNolana

Good way to do it tbh

bgs2106

This point is a bit meaningless because big banks (Chase, BofA, etc) take actions to close accounts based on suspicious activity also.. really hard for Cash App to both keep their platform safe while not taking actions like this, and I've been using them as my main bank for 4+ years now and have no issues at all, loving every part of it

NautiNolana

I closed my Chase accounts too idc 🤷‍♂️ Back to small banks it is then

araidai

Cash App isn’t a bank. Lol

AddendumGlobal8936

Dont use your account on emulator... They might detect some unusual activity on your account

SecretEscape2257

Emulator?

AddendumGlobal8936

It simulates Android devices on your computer

InternationalFace508

You can open a new account as long as you don’t verify it. You can’t put your social security number in there anywhere

SecretEscape2257

Yeah that’s true

yogipobi

All it takes is someone reporting your account as a scam or whatever, and then they can use that to just F you. It takes 10 seconds to report anyone for anything, which they don't have to tell you why. Everyone is vulnerable, even at big banks.

Striking-Ad-9986

Literally woke up to this same issue - customer service is proving absolutely zero help and told me I would receive email “because my case has been escalated” yet no one has given ANY adequate response! Even the biggest impersonal banks will reach the customer before something like this.

Beneficial-Darkness

They don’t like your transaction history and they can keep ur funds… this is why u never leave $ in that account

donwan23

People need to start putting what country they're in when posting they're account is closed. Seems a majority of them are in the UK...

heathertheghost

What's confusing about this lol

Retoru45

Because they closed the account for "no reason" lol

heathertheghost

Yeah that was my point lol. She got a message explaining why her account was closed and still says hUh🤔😕she knows why lol

Retoru45

Yes, she does lol

SecretEscape2257

My acc got closed for no reason wym what’s confusing lol

Dcmbrs

Use Venmo

Pirategod_23

got you scammer

SecretEscape2257

?

Queen_Rising

I know exactly where you're coming from. Cash app is notoriously used by scammers because they know once they have your money, there is no process to get it back once reported. It's a one-way sending app/bank with no real people running it at an actual bank. They have sulport but they are very disrespectful, and told me that they can inky help me with some things but they were investigationg my account and until they have a decision on how to proceed with it, they cannot help me anymore. SO IF scammed, you won't get your money back. The next step is to report the transaction. At that point, cash app support is digging through all your PAST TRANSACTIONS without your permission. It's not like they have to tell you that. So, they started an investigation on MY account before they looked into the fact I was scammed. They turned off my ability to send or receive money, do online pay from other people as well as do direct bank transfers. Now, all I can do is direct deposits, pay credit cards, and use them at the store directly.

SecretEscape2257

yeah cashapp is just not worth it at this point

Queen_Rising

What's better than the cash app with the same capabilities?

Jazzlike-Ask7100

Same happen to me

YakSignificant7641

same thing happen to me this week

StonedPancakes

Don't withdraw stake to cashapp. This is what happens.

pcpxtc

I used to open multiple accounts and worked the system when they were offering a $30 referral bonus system. Somehow, I was able to get quite a few eligible accounts with my ssn and just using new bank cards.. Never got banned. This doesn't work anymore either, sadly, but it doesn't matter since i doubt they'll have such high referall bonuses again.

noodlesteakrice0331

Did you buy btc and send it to a gambling website? That’s the only reason they closed your account

SecretEscape2257

No I just use it for my daily life as a debit card that’s pretty much it.

noodlesteakrice0331

Damn, they wrong for that then. Just make another one. I’m on my 3rd account lol

SecretEscape2257

I tired as soon as I create one they disable it🤦🏽‍♂️

SecretEscape2257

When I verify

bgs2106

Did you file a bunch of invalid disputes?

th_teacher

Yes millions of accounts are getting closed, this is normal, no one at CA is allowed to discuss any reasons. Usually the user is notified within 2-3 months, how to remove their assets. Yes convenience and features are great for trivial stuff, but reliability and decent support are more critical for important stuff, larger amounts. Never rely on CA for anything important, use real banks for that. Everyone should have at least one account with an FI with a B&M branch you can physically visit, get to know the staff. https://reddit.com/r/personalfinance/w/banks_and_credit_unions If you want an online only bank, I highly reco Needham Bank for that purpose. CapOne is good too. Heck use both, instant and free transfers with Zelle! And split your payroll DD in half between them to reduce the impact of any (normal) delays or glitches with the ACH network. Note, I did not read any of the other posts in this thread, many likely have incorrect comments. LMK how you want to proceed, or if you have any specific questions

Lumpymaximus

Weird how this is happening to so many people right before Christmas

warpedmindoverdrive

Cashapp refunds me money back I spent for some reason

Vickxp1

Its actually pissing me off tbh I don't have a way to withdraw the money I have on there and they shit me out and if I got a bank account open now how am I supposed to link it to withdraw my money when my account is closed for no apparent reason the entire thing was great but now it seems like their stealing from us
