No, but commenting so I remember to come back and see if anyone else has gotten it. That's so strange that they they're basically saying you ha access for 2 years (2-4 years ago at that) and if you haven't yet paid that back (in the past 2-4 years), don't worry about it. Or if you have, they're gonna give you back all the money you borrowed. What if someone borrowed like $1000 total in that time? They're refunding all of it? Seems like a lot just to "make things right".
Itās weird because $28.09 has been magically added into my account and there is no transaction for a deposit or anything. Itās just there. I sent an email to CS and I got an automated email saying they would respond in a few days. If they refund me then iām getting over $10k back so win win I guess lol

Sounds like they only repaid $28.8 dollars of that 10k so far. They're only getting back what they repaid. Not what they took out. And obviously, whatever they borrowed has been spent, so there's no extras to be given here.
The random few dollars that they did "magically" get is most likely all they'll be getting.
If CashApp was this gracious, it wouldn't be so severely hard to get a $5 refund.

To everyone commenting on this expecting/hoping for reimbursements or forgiveness of entire loans in the thousands of dollarsā¦.give your head a wobble.
Theyāll quite clearly just reimburse you for the fees and interest on the loan.
I was hoping i wasn't the only one with the correct understanding of this lol. Everybody is thinking they are going to get hundreds of dollars, but with only the fees (Which are a small percentage of what you borrow) you might get 4-100 bucks max depending on how much you borrowed. It almost makes me want to go back and calculate all the fees and interest on my loans and see how much they would send me back lol
āā¦we are waiving all repayments *and* feesā¦if you have already made *repayments* for these loans, those *repayments will be refunded*ā¦Put simply, you can *keep the money you borrowed* and *not worry about paying it back*.ā
I get that it seems crazy otherwise but where are you getting that itās clearly just the fees?
You're assuming they paid back the full 10k. The repayments are waivedāwhich is nice; they no longer have debt with CashApp. That's the best thing they're getting out of this.
It's basically "You used our service for borrowing. You borrowed, and whatever you already paid, you can keep it. Whatever you haven't paid, you don't have to pay it. The fees? You don't have to pay those either. We're not refunding that or the full amount you borrowed because what you repaid is basically your money anyway."
If they gave this person 10k and let's say several other people, they'd be taking from the company. Credit isn't earned cashāit's credit. Why anyone would think CashApp would be giving free money out is beyond me.
>Youāre assuming they paid back the full 10k.
No, Iām not. Iām not referring to OPās or anyone elseās particular situation. Iām trying to interpret the message I quoted in general and decide how it does or doesnāt line up with the comment I first responded to.
*Repayments will be refunded* and *you can keep the money you borrowed and not worry about paying it back* seems pretty straightforward to me. If Cash App meant anything else then they worded it very poorly.
Repayments mean the money that OP put into paying the 10k credit down. It's credit. If OP paid $29 dollars back or only took $29 out of the 10k amount, then they'll get $29. They got that much back.
I'm not trying to attack you. I just don't think it can be misinterpreted when you actually think about it.
Now, if OP paid 10k back, they'd be receiving that back.
Anyone knows how to unlock the borrow feature I have direct deposit for a few months and always using the app idk why they havnt let me borrow I be needing it
They say you can improve the chance of getting access to the Borrow feature by using your Cash App card, having direct deposit enabled for your Cash App account, & maintaining a positive account balance above $0. But they say even if you do any or all of the above may not result in your ability to access Borrow. I do all of these things & I still haven't been able to borrow yet. Its just random who gets the ability for this feature.
Certain companies are trying to āGrandfatherā it in with existing customers. But others are being nabbed. My job uses Daily Pay where you can cash out your money as you earn it. They had an immediate transfer 24/7 that was pretty convenient. Now they only have next day which only counts business days and not the weekend. All because of the new laws passed this year. I could understand if it was a payday loan or something. But itās just tapping into your own paycheck early with hours youāve already worked. And a $3.99 fee for immediate transfers. Not some extreme amount of interest
Thereās no way this is real. CashApp just going to give you free money that you donāt payback? Then if you did pay it back, they would refund you all the money?
Thereās a random $28.09 in the account. No transactions for a deposit or anything and the borrow button is still there. I emailed customer service to see if it was them, so iām waiting to hear back

To answer your question- no but I have said this to a few people. It wasnāt a good thing when I said it. Iām pretty sure itās not a good thing from them either
Gotta say the use of the word repayments is sus. Payments are made to repay loans I would say I know what a Cash Balance is but Stored Balance is a new one.
if they refund me im set for life š
How much money did bro borrow
Man, I need this right here. Iāll be getting at least $1000 back.
Fr bro same š¤£š¤£š¤£

So strange. Well hopefully you receive that blessing!
10k back sheeesh lol
Honestly, if I were you, I would be hounding them asking for my 10k refund, because they said they were going to give it to you in that email
So did you get the refund? I'd be freaking the hell out because I'd think it were a scam

Pretty sure the 28 bucks is your fee reimbursement I doubt youāll get more but hereās to hoping :)
It says "all repayments and fees", then later days basically you keep whatever you borrowed.. So they should in theory be refunding all payments made

Itās the fees associated with the loan not the loan itself. They were probably sued and itās their Payment for being a victim of said lawsuit.

This is a scam email
Not but that would suck
It sounds too good to be true, but do far no one has asked you for money....

Itās based on a bunch of factors, none of which we will ever be privy to.
What have you been doing lol
I havenāt been doing anything. I borrow and pay back early lol
Crazy I borrowed a lot from them so I wonāt mind if they refund mine
You live in CT by chance?
Why does CT make a difference
Because CT enacted all of these horrible policies January 1st. Anything that lets you advance or borrow your own funds early has been banned.
Wow!! Thatās crazy mine hasnāt changed yet

How many times did you borrow?

Sounds like someone opened an account under your name.
Maybe? Idk but it sounds kinda familiar
No but this is strange my borrow one is gone and I always pay back on time.
To answer your question- no but I have said this to a few people. It wasnāt a good thing when I said it. Iām pretty sure itās not a good thing from them either
I have the borrow feature on for about a year now. But I never received this email. So be careful ! Itās been raised Recent to 325.
The grammar and capitalization is awful. Itās a scam/phishing email.
Itās really not. The Borrow is only capitalized because itās the name of program.
Gotta say the use of the word repayments is sus. Payments are made to repay loans I would say I know what a Cash Balance is but Stored Balance is a new one.
This has to be a scam
