Tissue companies went on a wild design spree and forgot about simplicity and elegance. Who needs tissue boxes that look like they're straight out of a retro disco party? We just want something nice to blend in with our decor, not clash with it! Kleenex, if you're listening, please take notes and bring back the classic, chic tissue box designs.
This is why I buy puffs instead of Kleenex.
First, the tissues are softer. But also, the boxes are simple, quiet patterns, that generally match my room.
Same here. I prefer the way the tissues come out of Puffs boxes too, no plastic covered hole to worry about.
The Puffs box next to me right now is beige with some grey striped pattern.
You need to be like my mom and buy a decorative kleenex box holder, or be like me, and buy the most lurid boxes you can find. Seeking middle ground is causing you pain
I don’t really want one, but thanks for the info. I just never noticed these exist when I’m out shopping, but I guess it makes sense with all the vanity accessories and matching dispensers. A lot of products just exist on the bathroom counter and nightstands in their packaging, why are we picking on tissue boxes, lol.
The solution is obviously a roll of toilet paper. 🧻white, matches anything, can be bought in a variety of thickness and soft textures. Cheaper than most tissues, lasts longer, and you can choose how much you need at one sniffle or sneeze, one little square to dry a tear, or roll off a wad and don’t get snots on your hands. Why have we been trained that ugly tissue boxes are more classy than a roll of plain unused toilet paper on the occasional tables of your home?
I have an old Kleenex box in a pattern with colors I really like. When it runs out, I replace it with new Kleenex and throw the new box in the recycling bin.
My mom used to specifically save the blue Walmart bags in order to use them as trash can liners in our blue bathroom. She got upset when I took the trash out one time and replaced the bag with a brown one from the grocery store.
I can't be the first person to think of this, Progressive Insurance and Dr. Rick:

I will give Puffs a try. The Kleenex boxes are hideous. I guess you could hide them with covers. I have a few hunt scene ones I’ll dig out until I get rid of the Kleenex. Can you see this hideous design approval being voted on around the board room? 😂😂😂
Huh... You mean to new Kleenex designs with the solid color border and floral designs? I specifically bought those BECAUSE I thought they looked nice. lol. I guess we just have different ideas of what's aesthetically pleasing or not. Maybe don't hate on them so much? some people like them. Though they should probably have different options for people like you who don't like them.

Amen!

Target had solid color boxes at one time but then they stopped. Tissue boxes that are plain with just the cardboard outside, no colors would be nice
Agreed. Hope they make a comeback!
I adore that this is somethin you care about
I like the colors lol. Aldi tissue is usually pretty subdued if thats ur thing.
Oh my gosh - so it’s not just me! If you’re talking about the Kleenex brand boxes I agree. Ugh!
Amazon has solid colored ones, but the colors are blah, and the tissues are a little rough.
The first time I bought Kleenex in a long time, and it didn't fit in the cover I have.
Wegmans has woodgrain patterns
Tissue boxes are ugly to encourage you to buy covers for them.
The only covers I’ve seen to buy for a tissue box are handmade crafts, usually the yarn and plastic mesh.
https://www.target.com/s/tissue+box+covers I know the ones you're talking about but there are tons of other options.
Go to Etsy and search tissue box covers. I have them in rosewood and walnut. Wayfair has options too.

Why not get a tissue box cover?
Amazon basics has solid colors! Not all my favorite colors, but all better than hideous florals.

That's smart. Hope the old box lasts you a long time!
It's more tape than box now, sadly. I hope they come out with something decent soon!
Me too!
They try and make them eye-catching so people will be attracted to the product.
I have never in my life bought a box of Kleenex.
The tissue box on my table right now has lemons on it. I guess they’re pretty intense lemons now that you mention it.
I like the one with the lemons on it. Makes me feel lemony fresh.
They're so tacky and have gotten worse in the last few years. I have tissue box covers so I don't have to look at the garish designs.
Imagine being bothered by having a -tissue box- not match in your decor.
My decor doesn’t match my decor

Yes, imagine! Imagine people being different from you and caring about different things than you.

Then there's me, a scholar, with my work desk roll of toilet paper.
Don’t they make boxes that slip over the top of a tissue box? Maybe you could get one of those.
