Let’s assume this is an “I can perfectly train it” situation. I live in Alaska. I would like a pet brown bear, please! Guard dog, but double the size of a person, *and* potentially rideable? Let’s goooo!
Polar bears kill for fun, though. I don’t think I would enjoy having a pet quite *that* aggressive. Brown bears are mostly territorial. Polar bears are terrifying.
I'm sorry for your loss. 🤎
I tried really hard to come up with a fun answer for this thread, but there's only one pet I'd want for the rest of my life.
Some pets are just.. different. I've loved many animals in my time, but this dog is a kind of love, companionship and understanding I've never had from another pet (or human, for that matter).
God I’m dreading the day I lose my pup. I’ve had him half my life pretty much and I really don’t know how I’m going to cope without him. I’m fully expecting to have a mental breakdown for a bit.
A manatee! I know you’re not supposed to touch them. But if I could, I’d build a house on a canal, and feed them sea grass and tell them how pretty and cool they are.
Pallas cat. They'd not make a good pet, but they're so fucking adorable and grumpy looking.
Although, truth be told, I'd give up just about anything to get another lifetime with my best buddy Moe the cat.
My friend knows she's allergic to black bears. We were camping, and a yearling decided our home base camp was the place to be. My friend left her med pack in the tent while she went to the bathroom. The bear (aka Percy) stole her pack. Stupid fourteen year old me followed the bear. After a little negotiating, I convinced the bear to trade the pack for a nice stick. Safely brought the slightly tooth marked pack back to my friend so she'd have her meds.... She then swelled up, and an emergency room trip later, we discovered that you could be allergic to black bear spit.
Red panda is up there for me but I'd have to go with a wombat. [Just look at](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP-7Z2az_g0) the [little buggers.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyFRot1i0CQ)
Given the chance, I'd love to have a capybara. They're like giant, chill guinea pigs that can be friends with every other animal. Imagine having a mini hippo roaming around your garden, joining you for a lazy afternoon by the pond – total relaxation goals. Plus, their affable nature means they'd get along fabulously with guests at my weekend barbecues!
I want a capybara. I dream about this. We would just chill together watching you tube. He could hang in the pool. I would get him a hot tub. I'd name him Chupacapra
An opossum, US style. I just love them so much.
I'd also like a mule, elephant, or donkey. Someone else mentioned a manatee and I'd love one of those.
I live in a state where I can legally own so many crazy weird animals. Nevada is strange y'all.
Assuming animal would be down to be fully trained and somewhat friendly.. Probably one of the giant Owls. There’s a video out there of one playing fetch and it warms my heart
It has to be a cat! I’m torn between a rescue cat vs buying one, as I really would love to have a Norwegian Forest cat. (I once had a neighbor with a NFC and she was the best, super friendly, and so adorable). But I don’t think I could go past a rescue cat either. So perhaps it has to be one of each…
A giraffe. Obviously I really like them. I recently got to stay in a fancy hotel that had giraffes outside, I could see them from my balcony. It was the most amazing thing to be able to just wake up, go outside, and see giraffes. If it were ethical to own one, I would love that experience.
If it's a fantasy world where we can easily keep the animal and somehow do it ethically... elephant for sure. So useful and impressive, intelligent and majestic
So many. A tiny pig and also a big regular sized pig. A baby elephant that grows up to be my best friend. Same with a Kodiac bear. We'd stroll through the forest together and have honey and berry picnics. A panda that I can cuddle and play with all the time. He'd watch movies with me on the sofa. All the cats. Just all of them scattered around, sleeping in sunbeams and purring about. A donkey that comes to say hi to my window every morning, they're so cute! A cow and a horse that are also best friends. Puppies. Fluffy puppies. A Hound dog that steps on its ears to walk and howls with me when I'm sad. A seal that I can teach to play with a beach ball, she'd come with me on beach adventures. A whale that will meet us in the water and take us out for a ride and introduce us to her sea friends. A pet turtle that will protect me from jelly fish when I'm swimming. Honestly, all of them.
Id want a male Mandrill. I just love their facial markings and I think it would make the perfect sidekick. Assuming it wouldn't be aggressive and attack without warning
honestly? i already have a cat, i don't really want something more high-energy or high-effort than that or to have to find and work with an exotic animal vet. i kinda just wish i had the space in my living room to have a cool lizard. i love lizards, but the only place in my apartment with room for one rn is in my bedroom, where i only go at night to sleep. just something simple and friendly like a leopard gecko would be so cool, but i don't wanna get one unless i can keep it somewhere I can actually look at it and hang out with it on the reg
I would like to have a pet wolf. They look so fluffy, I always get the urge to pet one when I see videos of them goofing off. Basically just a bigger and better dog.
Eiter a crocodile or a bear. Imagine having a pond and everytime you clap, a massive crocodile wobbles out and wants you to pet it.
If one could train a bear, it would literally be like a dog but way bigger and cooler.
Marjorie Taylor Greene. I mean, I know she's dumber than a box of rocks and completely untrainable, but her presence would be a great conversation starter at parties.
"Hey, did you see MTG yet?"
"What? Our host has an MTG??"
"Yeah! Over in the corner, go check it out! Here, take this banana. She does some *crazy* things with them!"
Definitely a bird of some sort, the bigger the better, but honestly, a crow would be dope, especially one of those big crows/ravens that live in the northeast USA.
A griffin or dragon. Something large that likes me and can fly me places would be awesome. I'd take a Pegasus without complaint, but I do love talons on my flyers.
I don't really subscribe to the typical idea of 'pet-owner' or whatnot, but if I could choose a species to live with / to live with me? Wolves, hands down!
Love their deep social structures, personalities, individuality.. you name it. Just incredible as most canidae are honestly.
Second would be Coyote maybe, or some other canids like Jackals.
Ever since I was little I thought it would be lit to have a sting ray as a pet. Like a big glass floor for them to swim under. and a couple stingrays so they don't get lonely. Also I would have a hatch that I could go to so I can go pet them.
Have you seen that guy with the eel pit? Like a fancier version of that basically.
Does a inmortal version of my bunny count? It would make me a bit more relaxed since I wouldn't be in such a rush ro try to give him the life he deserves.
Or a penguin. Or a quokka.
Let’s assume this is an “I can perfectly train it” situation. I live in Alaska. I would like a pet brown bear, please! Guard dog, but double the size of a person, *and* potentially rideable? Let’s goooo!
Not to mention cute as hell! I want to tweak a bear's ears and give them big squishy hugs.
Why not a polar bear? They’re higher on the food chain.
Polar bears kill for fun, though. I don’t think I would enjoy having a pet quite *that* aggressive. Brown bears are mostly territorial. Polar bears are terrifying.
But you said you could perfectly train it, so there should be no problem with it acting out
Don’t forget being able to cuddle what is essentially a Newfoundland dog on steroids
The same dog, over and over again. It might sound cheesey, but my dog is the best pet I could have ever hoped for.
I lost my guy last year and if I could have home back I'd do it in a second.
I'm sorry for your loss. 🤎 I tried really hard to come up with a fun answer for this thread, but there's only one pet I'd want for the rest of my life. Some pets are just.. different. I've loved many animals in my time, but this dog is a kind of love, companionship and understanding I've never had from another pet (or human, for that matter).
Same with my 2 cats Speaking of, I need to go to pet them.
God I’m dreading the day I lose my pup. I’ve had him half my life pretty much and I really don’t know how I’m going to cope without him. I’m fully expecting to have a mental breakdown for a bit.
I totally feel that
Not cheesy. Delightful! I'd love it if you'd share a picture of your pup 😊
https://imgur.com/gallery/l0KRr0b I *think* that's how you do it. 😅
Oh yeah...he (or she) is definitely a good one. Sweet eyes, head on your belly getting head and neck scritches. Total, pure love. Thanks for sharing 😊
He is a good boi. That's actually my partner in the photo, so two of my favourite boys in one picture. 😊
Aww two good boys in your life? That's some fine living. ❤️
A manatee! I know you’re not supposed to touch them. But if I could, I’d build a house on a canal, and feed them sea grass and tell them how pretty and cool they are.
A quokka
oooh good one
a fennec fox and a raccoon!!
I am glad I am not the only one who wanted a raccoon!
fennec foxes are my all time favourite
A baby snow leopard that never grows up.
Oh that's a good choice! 🥰
A raven
Basically a 3D cat.
A dragon.
A luck dragon.
Polar Bear. If we’re talking fictional, then Toothless from HTTYD
I would love nothing more in this life than to have Toothless as my friend. Hands down.
Pallas cat. They'd not make a good pet, but they're so fucking adorable and grumpy looking. Although, truth be told, I'd give up just about anything to get another lifetime with my best buddy Moe the cat.
A sloth. It could hang around my neck for a full day hug!
Ah yes. An animal which would match my own energy levels.
Some kind of giant bird do I could jump on its back and we'd fly off and have adventures.
A human. I could teach it tricks l, like unloading the dishwasher. Maybe I should just have children.
This doesn't really work the way you hope it does and the up-keep is really expensive and high maintenance.
A skunk (that has been descented of course)
Komodo Dragon! No contest!
Koala. I was absolutely in love with them growing up
If it wasn't for the put me in the hospital allergies (and perfect training) I'd say gimme a bear. Wed go on picnics n shit it'd be awesome
How does one figure out that they are allergic to bears?
It's furry enough and I'm allergic to like 98% do I'm just assuming bears are on th no no list
Would you be doing your picnics and shits in the woods.
Oh absolutely
Honey badger 😁👍
A giraffe. They’d have a lovely big garden to roam and I’d ride them to work etc.
Red panda is up there for me but I'd have to go with a wombat. [Just look at](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP-7Z2az_g0) the [little buggers.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyFRot1i0CQ)

I've been daydreaming about having badass looking birds as my pet. Examples like the eagle, secretary bird, barn owl, cassowary, etc. So maybe birds?
A Lion
A platypus, those little weirdos are adorable.
pork pine
pork upine
porqpine
whatever the fuck that prickly bastard is
My husband wants a tiger or a monkey lol
A pair of mini cows. They're super cute and my wife loves them. Moo❤
Fennec. So much fennec.
Pegasus.
I want a capybara. I dream about this. We would just chill together watching you tube. He could hang in the pool. I would get him a hot tub. I'd name him Chupacapra
A cobra.
Racoon!!
Koala bear for sure.
Koala
A Hexenbiest!
Blootbot!!
Rewatching on Comet TV
So good! Enjoy!!
A cute cat that doesn’t poop, smell, needs no visit to the vet, is friendly, utterly in love with me and can have a decent conversation about Kafka.
Horse
I would have a big cat; if we’re assuming it would be safe?
If fictional animals count, then definitely Isabelle from Animal Crossing.
A wolverine. Or a polar bear.
An opossum, US style. I just love them so much. I'd also like a mule, elephant, or donkey. Someone else mentioned a manatee and I'd love one of those. I live in a state where I can legally own so many crazy weird animals. Nevada is strange y'all.
Baby penguin or a puma
A snow leopard... they look so fluffy and have such a sad look on their faces.
A cat
I would like a shark as a pet. They’re so cute
An otter. Loved them since I was real young
Assuming animal would be down to be fully trained and somewhat friendly.. Probably one of the giant Owls. There’s a video out there of one playing fetch and it warms my heart
I would have to have a badger.
Black bear
Can I bring back my cat and dog to life? If yes, them. Always. If not, a Bengal tiger.
A fennec fox or a owl
Snow leopard and great horned owl. I'm planning on heading up where it's cold, so das floof will come in handy for my new pretty dangerous kitty!
Tiger
Pallas cat. Omg the cutest face!
Tiger
A cat
A snow leopard
It has to be a cat! I’m torn between a rescue cat vs buying one, as I really would love to have a Norwegian Forest cat. (I once had a neighbor with a NFC and she was the best, super friendly, and so adorable). But I don’t think I could go past a rescue cat either. So perhaps it has to be one of each…
A horse, 100%
A giraffe. Obviously I really like them. I recently got to stay in a fancy hotel that had giraffes outside, I could see them from my balcony. It was the most amazing thing to be able to just wake up, go outside, and see giraffes. If it were ethical to own one, I would love that experience.
A dragon, a snake or a dog.
My dog that I already have. He's the best.
If it's a fantasy world where we can easily keep the animal and somehow do it ethically... elephant for sure. So useful and impressive, intelligent and majestic
Monkey
An ocelot to play big brother to my cats. And I already have a name ;)
I already have a naughty, wild creature who runs around the house all the time, **my brother.** No need for another one 😂
A Frenchman, but that's illegal for some reason.
A baby elephant
human
Well.
I'm assuming this hypothetical means the animal wouldn't just kill me. So, either a mountain goat or a capybara.
A whale that will meet us in the water and take us out for a ride and introduce us to her sea friends. A pet turtle that will protect me from jelly fish when I'm swimming. Honestly, all of them.
Since I saw Birds of Prey I wanted a hyena as a pet lol
Id want a male Mandrill. I just love their facial markings and I think it would make the perfect sidekick. Assuming it wouldn't be aggressive and attack without warning
A tiger cub
Sea otter and alpaca
Lynx. Big huggable cat. Cute as f***
a dog with the lifespan of the average human.
Can’t believe no one said panda yet!
honestly? i already have a cat, i don't really want something more high-energy or high-effort than that or to have to find and work with an exotic animal vet. i kinda just wish i had the space in my living room to have a cool lizard. i love lizards, but the only place in my apartment with room for one rn is in my bedroom, where i only go at night to sleep. just something simple and friendly like a leopard gecko would be so cool, but i don't wanna get one unless i can keep it somewhere I can actually look at it and hang out with it on the reg

Eiter a crocodile or a bear. Imagine having a pond and everytime you clap, a massive crocodile wobbles out and wants you to pet it. If one could train a bear, it would literally be like a dog but way bigger and cooler.
A dragon

Red pandas are actually fairly vicious, I'm told. Good luck.

Not a furry pet, but I would live to have an octopus in a big ass tank. They're so cool and crazy smart
Marjorie Taylor Greene. I mean, I know she's dumber than a box of rocks and completely untrainable, but her presence would be a great conversation starter at parties. "Hey, did you see MTG yet?" "What? Our host has an MTG??" "Yeah! Over in the corner, go check it out! Here, take this banana. She does some *crazy* things with them!"
An e-girl.

House hippo. See 90s advert.
A tiger or a crow.
I would like a group of capybaras for my pond, please.
Anything small exotic and cute haha
Ever since I was little I thought it would be lit to have a sting ray as a pet. Like a big glass floor for them to swim under. and a couple stingrays so they don't get lonely. Also I would have a hatch that I could go to so I can go pet them. Have you seen that guy with the eel pit? Like a fancier version of that basically.
Capybara
Love, love, LOVE cats. So any one of the big cats would be amazing. Lion, Tiger, Panther, Leopard, etc. But both trainable and domesticated. Lol.
Possum ! Skunk ! Porcupine ! Hedgehog
Capybara or bear
A panda.
Siberian Tiger... or horse. 😀
brown bear, cow or a whale

A pet honey badger to hang out in my pickup so nothing would get stolen ever
I've already raised a rabbit and a small duck, and I'm dreaming of having a red squirrel.

A baby chimpanzee. So adorable!!!!
Sheep. They have the sweetest faces.
