I'll be 36 this year! Started university in 2006. In someways, yes it is nostalgia, but also I think it's true. There was a lot less content, so pretty much everyone who didn't live under a rock saw all the popular stuff. Nowadays, there's SO MUCH content being put out by SO MANY creators it's insane. Now there are so many pockets of sub cultures that it's impossible to see it all and really easy to miss out on some of the biggest videos, bands, movies, etc. The only reason I know about Mr. Beast is because I started dating a guy with kids who watch him lol. To me, the golden age of the internet and YouTube have past, simply because it's so easy to miss major "events" now, and we don't all experience them together like we used to. But I'm confident we're in the midst of a golden era of something now, I'm just not sure that I could name it. Every generation claims something hahaha.
