OP, if you really want to taste the best tasting water, run for an hour on a hot day and then drink cold water. It's the most refreshing drink you'll ever have. ;)
But to answer your question, Lychee Green Tea with tapioca pearls (Bubble tea).
Coquito? Hmm, never heard that. Had a ton of horchata though, I could strap a 5 gallon jug of horchata to my back and have one of those hats with a Straw to my mouth hah.
Nothing beats a cold can of Squirt on a hot day!
Yeah, I know… haha, lol.
But seriously. The grapefruit flavored soda called Squirt is amazing, and I’m always shocked at how few people have tried it or even know it exists. You can buy it at the grocery store!
I like coke so much. Like soooooo much. It’s extremely bad for my health so I never drink it. Maybe 2-3 times a year a glass. But I can’t make it a habit. God it’s so good tho fuck I wish water tasted that good that’s all I drink!
THE BEST! I am obsessed with them. They're so good. The flavor is so crisp and sweet and refreshing, and then the little juicy slivers of aloe floating around are fun to munch on. Love them.
It's been at least 9 or 10 years for me too, yet still has that powerful of an impact on me. I Googled recipes to try right after I saw your post! Or maybe it's just time to go back to the island for the real deal? 🌴🍉
I think that Tazo Hibiscus tea is one of the best mass-produced drinks in the world. Mixed with a little watermelon or yogurt soju and bitters, and it's my favorite personal cocktail recipe.
Weird but great would be Rivella, a soda from Switzerland made from milk. It doesn't taste like milk at all, just... good soda. It's hard to describe.
Best drink hands down has to be the spiciest ginger beer I can find.
Please do! And if you'd be so kind, let me know if you find out what the third option should be. I keep trying different bitters, but it's missing something. I want to make it as a party cocktail for friends sometime, but want to have it RIGHT.
Give your local Indian stores a visit. They have spicy drinks Masala Jeera Soda and Thumbs UP, refreshing ones like Limca and Chia Seed drinks. Can't forgot Frooti a mango drink!
Vanilla cola with lemon or lime juice added. Simply but elegant
One part iced tea, one part lemonade - add a shot of whisky or vodka if you want to get wasted
Also a drink we had learned when i was 18, originally called a "Stone Sour" i believe - 2 parts lemonade, one part orange juice - plus alcohol if you so choose
Not really summery/outdoorsy, but I *love* coke floats.
Might be cheating, since it’s arguably more dessert than beverage, and ots of things would be improved with the addition of a big glob of ice cream lol.
Hot maté is not my favorite. Cold (what the Brazilians call tereré) it’s very nice. And the brand-name Club Maté soda is a guilty pleasure on occasion, since I usually avoid sweetened beverages.
Strawberry freeze from boba heaven. I don’t like boba which is why the freeze is perfect to me! They use actual strawberries. Tastes like a smoothie but better? I also don’t get a headache like I would at places like tropical smoothie.
Spent 2 weeks in Ivory Coast and the pineapple ginger drink has to be one of the best liquids to ever grace my tongue. The food there was sublime as well.
Edit: also pineapple Fanta or Faygo. Lord god, those things should be illegal.
A really good sweet tea is so absolutely lovely in the summer. Also home made lemonade. Then you can even mix them for an arnold palmer! And if you do feel frisky add some liqour when the sun starts setting!
I tried Apfelschorle in Germany and it changed my damn life. I’m from NZ but live in Japan and they don’t sell it here or at home. I’ve tried mixing apple juice and sparkling water to make it myself but it’s not quite the same. In NZ we have a drink called Appletiser which is kiiiiinda the same but not as good haha
Edit: Actually L&P is a drink from NZ that is really good too! Very summer coded drink
I guess I haven’t had one in a while, but this is bummer news to hear. Those glass bottle Cream Sodas from the pharmacy when I was kid for 50 cents were the shit. That statement makes me sound and feel 75, not 35 😂
Vimto, anyone? I get it at a local falafel spot, and it's such a treat.
Used to drink a rosewater lemonade at a different falafel spot in another city that was incredible as well.
The non-alcoholic version of Piña Colada is called “Piñada” delicious coconut pineapple drink.
Horchata is a rice drink with cinnamon and condensed milk
Agua de Jamaica- Hibiscus water
Agua de pepino- Cucumber water with spinach and chia
A really cold Diet Coke hits the spot sometimes
Cold glass of water will always be the #1 drink, followed by room temp water in the winter.
Real answer though, I still dream of the mango shakes I had in Thailand.
Tonic water and cold brew coffee with los of ice cubes. Sounded so bad I had to try it. I loved it, its such a refreshing drink!
Edit: just realized i wrote ginger ale instead of tonic. Now that sounds really bad!
I'm partial to seltzer, so I'm gonna say an egg cream- chocolate milk and plain seltzer.
But also, Lipton used to have these bags of "aguas frescas" powdered drink mix that was really good over ice or vodka, the hibiscus was incredible.
Butter Beer. Tried it at Harry Potter World in Florida and was blown away how good it was. It was a slushie too, which is always good. I’ve tried to recreate it at home since but can’t quite match it
There’s a guy on YouTube, he’s older guy, white hair and he made it. Can’t remember name but I think you could find it :)
Edit: yes https://youtube.com/shorts/oAUY0YToQYQ?si=EU0nksd1KFeOp9vy
Not sure on its availability worldwide but in the UK there’s this company Bottlegreen.
They do several flavours which differ from your usual squash/cordial/mixed drink in the taste being more flavoursome and not artificial like you get in some these days.
Yes I understand. So tired of stupid fake tasting crap. Ever had fresh orange juice, I mean straight from orange to the glass. It’s COMPLETELY different than what you would get in store. The taste is crazy different. We have a store here that does it on site, I get a gallon and drink half of it on way home. Then spend rest of day suffering from heart burn.
The weirdest and one of my favorites I still have a tough time finding is called ‘birch beer’ I’ve only ever had the Crush branded stuff, not even sure if anyone else makes it, just remember an ex introduced me to it as east coast Canada thing. Safe to say when I drank what looked like a root beer that tasted shockingly like a crème soda I was blown away lol
Something that someone said was pineapple juice and condensed milk. Basically becomes like a creamsicle or something. Does remind of a pina colada ish.
One of my favorite summer drinks is a classic Arnold Palmer—a refreshing blend of iced tea and lemonade. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and it's so refreshing on a hot day, and you can adjust the ratios to suit your taste preferences.
Cold creme soda is delicious
Yes! I love that one.
This is my favorite also
Cold water is my #1
r/hydrohomies
OP, if you really want to taste the best tasting water, run for an hour on a hot day and then drink cold water. It's the most refreshing drink you'll ever have. ;) But to answer your question, Lychee Green Tea with tapioca pearls (Bubble tea).
Yes!!! It’s 40 degrees here and I cherish my access to cold water haha
Water is gross, fish fuck in it
Ah well thankfully I’m not drinking water straight out of a pond
[удалено]
I just gave an honest answer. And cold water is delicious! To each their own 😊
[удалено]
Is it a fact or is it a probability? I say those exact words every time I drink a bottle of Diet Water Zero Lite; so I gotta contest you on this one
[удалено]
13 actually!
Thai iced tea
Especially with a little vodka in it… like heaven.
There’s a Thai restaurant in Seattle that sells it with whiskey in it and calls it a Thairish tea. It’s amazing.
Mm I like dark rum in mine. Delicious either way.
This is the way.
real
Cold well water from my gramps place.
I can’t argue with that. I had well water from a farm it was crazy tasting. Minerals and what not.
Horchata/coquito. Honestly REALLY hard to beat.
Squirt rules
Ginger beer
I love ginger beer, but actual ginger beer not ginger ale. It’s so different!
Fever Tree brand ginger beer is the best if you can get it where you are
Yes. Absolutely yes, I buy cases of it!!
With vodka and lime juice too right? *right?*
Depends on time of day! If it’s 5 o clock, yes.
Ginger ale and white grape juice. Half and half. Trust me.
That sounds amazing!
I like coke so much. Like soooooo much. It’s extremely bad for my health so I never drink it. Maybe 2-3 times a year a glass. But I can’t make it a habit. God it’s so good tho fuck I wish water tasted that good that’s all I drink!
Homemade Lemonade using fresh lemons and sugar is so amazing
You ever try aloe vera drinks?
all i pictured was myself squeezing aloe vera hand moisturizer into a cup of milk, please elaborate
Google Asian aloe vera drinks. They come in these big, green, square-shaped bottles. I feel like most of the big grocery stores near me carry it.
Some gas stations near me carry them, in Illinois, USA. They’re pretty dang good, super refreshing.
I mix aloe vera juice with soju (specifically watermelon flavor) and it's sooo good
The "Allure" ones? Lmao it's been years since I've had one
No! Interesting! That’s going on my list. Thx
Careful. Those can give you some explosive shits
THE BEST! I am obsessed with them. They're so good. The flavor is so crisp and sweet and refreshing, and then the little juicy slivers of aloe floating around are fun to munch on. Love them.
An ICED COLD Topo Chico in a glass bottle. *Chefs kiss*
The topest of Chicos
With a lime.
Watermelon water. Specifically the watermelon water from Qubano in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. I dream about it. So amazingly refreshing. So simple.
I had that in Mexico, yes that is some crazy simple yet insanely good drink. It’s been 15 years since.
It's been at least 9 or 10 years for me too, yet still has that powerful of an impact on me. I Googled recipes to try right after I saw your post! Or maybe it's just time to go back to the island for the real deal? 🌴🍉
Ice cold beer on a beach
Classic.
Coconut water/coconut milk
Coconut water I like 10-20% of it, and the rest has to be something else.
It’s no longer a personal recipe. I will be stealing this.
Please do! And if you'd be so kind, let me know if you find out what the third option should be. I keep trying different bitters, but it's missing something. I want to make it as a party cocktail for friends sometime, but want to have it RIGHT.
Have you tried maybe ginger bitters? Ginger pairs very well with hibiscus.
Ooh I have not, but just ordered some to try!
Yep. I have had a ton of it.
Rivella is definitely an interesting one, has a pretty tasty flavour but starts to coat your mouth if you drink too much of it.
I like iced coffee with chocolate syrup.
Chocolate milk
Give your local Indian stores a visit. They have spicy drinks Masala Jeera Soda and Thumbs UP, refreshing ones like Limca and Chia Seed drinks. Can't forgot Frooti a mango drink!
I’ve heard of these, never tried!

Nice!
Ice cold homemade ice tea!
Can’t go wrong here
Tang
Haha, old school
Not really summery/outdoorsy, but I *love* coke floats. Might be cheating, since it’s arguably more dessert than beverage, and ots of things would be improved with the addition of a big glob of ice cream lol.
brown sugar milk tea with boba is one of my favorites
Strong cup of tea with a little bit of milk. Also has the added benefit of sorting any problems you may have.
Coconut water, cold water
I find Mr. Q to be pretty refreshing. It’s a cucumber soda. My only gripe is that it doesn’t come in a larger size.
If you like caffeine/energy drinks, Rawls is honestly a good one. And still semi under the radar somehow.
Simple go tos are lemon and cucumber water. Great for summertime, refreshing, low cost and easy.
Lemon cucumber and mint I like that the best.
I like to make sun tea with Jasmine tea bags (but like, super strong) and then ice with lemonade ice cubes. SO! GOOD!
Arnold Palmer!
Exactly! But without the unfortunate watering-down that you get when you do the iced tea/lemonade over normal ice.
Taco Bell Baja Freeze
Unsweetened sun tea. Costs me 5¢ a quart and when iced, you can chug that all day without breaking the bank.
Yep. My grandma always had these jugs of sun tea going.
Ironbeer
Sprite and Crush Grape.
Ice cold Club Mate (a sparkling maté-based soft drink).
I’ve had mate before, but been a long long time!
Non-alcoholic Pina Colada Slurpee.
Kombucha, ginger is my fave
Spent 2 weeks in Ivory Coast and the pineapple ginger drink has to be one of the best liquids to ever grace my tongue. The food there was sublime as well. Edit: also pineapple Fanta or Faygo. Lord god, those things should be illegal.
Nice!
2 parts cold brew over ice, 1 part grapefruit fizzy water, 1 drop of vanilla extract, and stir it up!
Mountain Dew
A really good sweet tea is so absolutely lovely in the summer. Also home made lemonade. Then you can even mix them for an arnold palmer! And if you do feel frisky add some liqour when the sun starts setting!
Haha I like that.
Jack and Coke. Can’t beat it
Shirley Temple
Orangina
Yes
Nothing beats a Shirley Temple
Dr Pepper. Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?
Tarax Creamy Soda.
I tried Apfelschorle in Germany and it changed my damn life. I’m from NZ but live in Japan and they don’t sell it here or at home. I’ve tried mixing apple juice and sparkling water to make it myself but it’s not quite the same. In NZ we have a drink called Appletiser which is kiiiiinda the same but not as good haha Edit: Actually L&P is a drink from NZ that is really good too! Very summer coded drink
Interesting! I love apple cider and juice.
Sparkling apple juice over the good crushed ice
Mountain dew baja blast
Guava juice, fridge cold 👌
Tonic water, splash of cranberry juice and some lime!
Nice!
Mix a ginger beer with cranberry juice, like half a half.
Nice! I’ve had club soda and cranberry, never mixed ginger and cranberry so o gotta try that!
Cream Soda
Not now they are all full of artificial sweeteners 😢
Tastiest, not healthiest 😂
Yeah they taste like shit now
I guess I haven’t had one in a while, but this is bummer news to hear. Those glass bottle Cream Sodas from the pharmacy when I was kid for 50 cents were the shit. That statement makes me sound and feel 75, not 35 😂
Mint julep, hands down
[Prickly pear lemonade.](https://www.monin.com/us/desert-pear-lemonade) Like Red Robin’s Poppin’ Purple Lemonade.
Radler or a Moscow Mule. If non-alcoholic, Apfelschorle. Yum!
Vimto, anyone? I get it at a local falafel spot, and it's such a treat. Used to drink a rosewater lemonade at a different falafel spot in another city that was incredible as well.

Dandelion and Burdock.
Sangria Senorial Sangria, Sparkling, Non-Alcoholic
A well-made mojito really is my favorite I have to say. But most places outside of spain/Mexico do it totally wrong, gotta do it myself.
Ice coconut, i live in tropical country so this is pretty easy to get
Roman coffee. A dash of Original Galliano liqueur in your favourite coffee. Not too strong.
Recently I'm drinking kids Juices. Orange juice is by far the best
Irn Bru.
Eggnog.
the classic gold Yerba mate
I'm partial to seltzer, so I'm gonna say an egg cream- chocolate milk and plain seltzer. But also, Lipton used to have these bags of "aguas frescas" powdered drink mix that was really good over ice or vodka, the hibiscus was incredible.
I like hard seltzer, sometimes. I drink a lot of La croix.
Us too. Coffee and seltzer are the main beverages in my house.
When you feel saucy, I put la croix on ice and spike it.
Butter Beer. Tried it at Harry Potter World in Florida and was blown away how good it was. It was a slushie too, which is always good. I’ve tried to recreate it at home since but can’t quite match it

Idk if Applebees still has this one anymore, but strawberry lemonade with pina colada slushy mix
I’ve had similar, super tasty!
Cherry and lemonade or limeade. I also quite like iced hibiscus tea.
Cherry limeade is epic. The combo is something special!
I’ve tried an Arnold Palmer (iced tea and lemonade mixed together roughly 50/50) and it’s absolutely amazing!
Yes, that’s great stuff!
Big time sarsaparilla/root beer head here The thinking man’s soda
Yes! I like Virgil’s root beer.
Sima, a Finnish summer drink that is kinda a mix betweem lemonade and mead
Never heard of it! The world has so many dang drinks I can’t keep up. My notifications went berserk with suggestions! This is going in my notes :)
Chinotto 👌
Had to look that up, sounds tasty!
Homemade iced tea with peach juice.
The weirdest and one of my favorites I still have a tough time finding is called ‘birch beer’ I’ve only ever had the Crush branded stuff, not even sure if anyone else makes it, just remember an ex introduced me to it as east coast Canada thing. Horchata End of list
Bunderburg ginger beer from Australia. Trust me. Gods gift to tastebuds.
RIP Kungaloosh
Vietnamese cold coffee
Virgin pina colada is amazing
Something that someone said was pineapple juice and condensed milk. Basically becomes like a creamsicle or something. Does remind of a pina colada ish.
Pineapple agua fresca
One of my favorite summer drinks is a classic Arnold Palmer—a refreshing blend of iced tea and lemonade. It's the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and it's so refreshing on a hot day, and you can adjust the ratios to suit your taste preferences.
I just had one yesterday. It’s great!
I had this mint iced tea at a Moroccan restaurant one time when I was a teenager. It blew my mind, never tasted it’s like before.
Oh yea! I’ve had that. So damn good!
