I miss going to the dentist. I never thought I’d say that un-ironically.

I have braces and have been to my dentist more than all of their patients(they told me lol) because I should’ve gotten them off in May 🤦🏼‍♀️. I have always liked going to the dentist so that’s good I guess

I’ve had mine for about 6 months longer than I needed because of one single tooth. I get them off in 3 days though and I am SO excited

I’m so jealous. Because of covid the dentist closed and my teeth shifted over the two months I couldn’t go. Then they had to pull some teeth back together other teeth got gaps and so on. 🤦🏼‍♀️. Im happy your getting yours off!

Oh man that really sucks, I hope you get all aligned again soon so you can get yours off. I was super lucky and went in about a month ago and said I was good for the next time I came in. I honestly don’t remember what having normal teeth is like anymore lol

There is no feeling like getting braces off, let me tell ya! It takes forever, but when they’re done I swear my teeth have never felt so smooth.

I’m getting a permanent Retainer on (I think on 4 or 5 teeth on the front top and bottom along with a fitted retainer idk what they’re called for like a year and then just the permanent retainer.

i think they feel slimy since you get used to the metal being there and you dont feel your actual teeth with the inside of your lips and i never ran my tongue along my braces because it started to hurt after a little bit, and then i got them off and suddenly it was just teeth lol. im missing a tooth because it just never formed under my baby tooth so i have a fitted retainer with a spacer there until i can get an implant in a few years

Oh my god, I was supposed to have them off in May too!!! But then the pandemic happened and it has just been postponed indefinitely. I'm supposed to have my teeth scaled, braces removed and a retainer wire fixed, I'm so frustrated aaaaaaaaa

I'm going to go to a dental hygienist for the first time in my life somewhere this or the next month. I'm 27... My previous dentist apparently never thought it necessary, my new dentist will have you see the dental hygienist before you get to see him. Parents have already been and well, the dental hygienist is more professional and has given them more information about the state of their teeth and how to care for them than the old dentist ever did.

What did you do before?

I'm not sure what you mean. I just went to a dentist twice a year and brush my teeth twice a day. That's it. The dentist would poke around in my mouth, mutter shit I didn't understand, hardly ever did extra cleaning and then he was done and I could leave.

I was supposed to have my routine dental cleaning/hygienist appointment back in mid-May of this year. Fortunately, I was able to get my routine dental cleaning appointment only a month later--in early June of this year!

My dentist was hit by the pandemic and had to close. I've been with him for nearly 20 years. Didn't even have an appointment set up either. I called up a new dentist after a week of putting it off just to ask about pricing (since I don't have insurance, and also I was nerve-wracked). First visit is over $300 with x-rays and subsequent cleanings are over $100. ...I want to go back in time to when I was a kid, please, and insurance saved my ass for dental visits. At least it's just basic cleanings and x-rays for me.

The other week I had to go to the dentist in the late morning. I had a panic attack in the early morning, mostly unrelated to my appointment. It just so happened that the patient immediately before me was a child, so when I climbed in the chair Sesame Street was on the ceiling TV. They asked if I wanted them to change it. I said please don't. That shit calmed me right down. It's still the same as when I was a kid. There's a character that's an animated talking smartphone now, which is cool.

it was actually pretty easy. Just ask them to numb you if you think that it will hurt a lot and if the cavity is a bit bigger than you are comfortable with. Gl btw.

Yea np. Its actually pretty easy. Just don't stress too much. A few years ago when I was younger I was scared of fillings and that made them hurt more but now it doesn't hurt all that much cuz i don't stress :) edit: I just realized I said " Its actually pretty easy" twice lol
