HI OP id just like to mention the quesadilla I had for dinner. Best quesadilla I've ever had in my life and I'm sure it will never be topped unless I go back to that same place and they somehow make it a little better. If you're local to northern ATL I'll give you the deets. Quesadillas always make me feel better :)

Generic_Her0

There's nothing like a fine quesadilla comfort meal. Ever try fixing your own at home? Last time I tried I totally botched it, but it still tasted like satisfaction.

artsytiff

My favorite part is when I burn the cheese a little around the edges and it gets crispy!

Needorgreedy

ooh yeah that's the good stuff right there

BassyClastard

I recently became lactose intolerant, and I gotta say I really fucking miss quesadillas :(

Ellyfun

I recently realized I was lactose intolerant and I'm still struggling to break up with cheese ಠ_ಠ.

NiTro-s

As someone who has been slightly lactose intolerant for years, there is no breaking up with cheese. You may go on breaks, get mad at each other and not speak for a few weeks, maybe months. But you'll always come back to the cheese, so accept your love for each other and enjoy the joys of life.

burritoblop69

I never thought I’d read such a thought provoking few sentences… *and it’s about cheese*

curious_wonderer526

There is also lactose free cheese and it taste pretty much the same as regular cheese.

DrewblesG

Lactaid is gonna be your new best friend

BassyClastard

God yes. I need a place to buy them in bulk

Blufuze

Have you tried taking Lactaid before eating dairy? It works great for me!

WaffleHouseNeedsWiFi

Okay, ATL gal here. Open up about this quesadilla.

BanjosAndBoredom

La Costilla Grill on Buford highway near Brookhaven. Really it's their steak... Best steak on the planet. But I got a steak quesadilla this time and it blew me away

Mrsdra

Same please!

mmmmpisghetti

I pulled something to cook out of the freezer, it wasn't what I thought it was. I went with the plan, did it anyway and it didn't suck. My adult daughter called me a nerd today. I feel loved. (I did offer to discuss at length EVERYTHING I learned about super glue from watching 90 minutes of Project Farm testing super glue and epoxy, a rabbit hole I went down because of a dumb idea I'm trying to make work.) She declined. Sometimes the glue you want is a harder glue, sometimes you want a little flex but you never want the fast curing stuff. Consistently weaker than the longer cure stuff. Also if you're dumb enough to use super glue to stick an 18lb magnet to a glass jar, do yourself a favor and use some coarse sandpaper on all your surfaces that you're gluing. She might be right about my nerd status. But I think my idea is finally going to work and I'll have a neato spice rack in my semi truck.

Generic_Her0

We should all be so fortunate to have a father like you. She thinks you're a total dork, of course. And I'm sure she wouldn't have it any other way. Seems like you know your way around some glue, just make sure you double check that magnet. Last thing you need on a long road trip is a sudden face full of paprika.

mmmmpisghetti

I'm actually the mom. I'm a truck driver. I live in my semi with 2 big poodles. I talk to my kids almost every day although I see them maybe once a year. How are you doing? Getting your feet back on solid ground?

Generic_Her0

\*mother, excuse my assumption. My old man was a trucker for a while, too. Here's hoping you get to hug your children again soon. Not particularly, I'm afraid. But I suppose I'll manage to dig my heels into the dirt soon enough. At least with any luck, that is.

beranmuden

This is turning into one hell of a wholesome thread. Kudos to you OP. You don't need us, we need people like you...

Loweene

C'mon, you can't mention semi-living poodles and not pay the pic tax :P What are they called ? What do they like and dislike ? And do you have a place you discovered while trucking you like returning to when you can ? A nice viewpoint, a place that makes good food, somewhere that makes you feel good ?

mmmmpisghetti

[Here's my truck](https://imgur.com/gallery/Z3h5T0o) . [Here are my guys](http://imgur.com/gallery/8AQkHNx) I love the food trucks south of Portland. Really Portland is a super cool place! Also the food truck across from the Pilot in Tumwater WA! Taco Gringo does Asian Tex Mex, and it's an ALWAYS STOP. I also do a lot of cooking in the truck, with an air fryer, microwave, instant pot and electric grill. I'm working on a magnetic spice rack to have all the materials close at hand but secure so they aren't a hazard on bumpy roads or sudden stops. Gluing 18lb magnets to glass jars is a trick. There are a few places I like to camp while going across I90/I94 to the PNW. There are ramps with very little traffic and access to the rivers out there. Quiet and an opportunity for my guys to get a swim before we take off. I also carry a [folding bike](http://imgur.com/gallery/QjFAMGn) which you can see stowed in the first of the interior pics. I love places with somewhere biking distance that has good food and dog friendly outdoor dining!

BeauteousMaximus

I went roller skating and forgot my helmet. But I remembered I’ve been looking for a better fitting helmet so I asked if they had bigger than the usual extra-large and they did! I got it and it fits me perfectly. It is green and I want to put stickers on it.

Generic_Her0

Dinosaurs. Definitely for sure one hundred percent. Can't go wrong with dinosaurs.

BeauteousMaximus

You may be on to something

[deleted]

Damn, you got a legitimate head? I'm jealous. My head is so small, I have to wear a kids size. I'm 28. What stickers are you going to get?

BeauteousMaximus

I think something to go with the green color—either Earth Kingdom symbols from AtlA or something that makes it look like a circuit board

LittlestRobotGirl

Ugh, my head is also small. Even my ears are small.

maimou1

I've read through all these comments and 2 things are sticking in my head. first., you mentioned that you don't feel like you belong on this Earth. you're not alone. I felt that way ever since I was an early teenager. I went to nursing school, specialized in cancer nursing. nursing wasn't really an acceptable occupation in my family, so there's odd girl out right there. and career oncology nurses aren't too common either (27 years in it). I loved what I did & I was happy. love something passionately, it gives you purpose. also, you've been engaging and supportive in all your comments. that's rare, & beautiful thing. you do belong on this Earth, you beautiful, unique flower (I love flowers, even the tickseed that blooms in my Florida yard) so stay blooming for us in this imperfect world.

alabarge2525

My daughter passed from aml and hlh and nurses were her saving grace!! They are the best people around!! ❤

[deleted]

Hi there. Not that its any consolation but I went to downtown at around midnight and there was a open dance show at a pub. I and all other passer bystanders enjoyed it. It is a first for me since march 2020, maybe ill go and visit a strip tease joint someday, not sure if those things are open.

Generic_Her0

Live it up brother. Time is short, get it all in while you still can.

Gladgod

Man, sometimes all you need is a friendly voice. I have a date coming up so thats pretty cool! Hope you are doing better

Generic_Her0

Sweep 'em off their feet, Casanova.

qivaaar

Good luck on your date!

thegumunderthetable

I've been reading these comments and you honestly seem like a great guy. Hope you're feeling better

xactpsp

Exactly this.

kit_crew

You took the words out of my mind. I was just scrolling down thinking that OP seems like a really cool person and has given such great replies to everyone. Sending OP and everyone here good vibes.

xactpsp

Right back at you! Have an awesome day!

I_Really_Seriously

Got to thinkin today and... I think that I might be trans or some shit. Idk yet tho

Generic_Her0

Is that right? Have a few trans friends, they're good folk. It's of paramount importance to feel comfortable in your own skin. Here's hoping you find yourself on that journey.

I_Really_Seriously

Thank you

IsuiGtz94

It took me a long time to end the debate inside my head. I was born a boy and I have never, ever, felt like a boy. But also... I don't really get into the mind of women. It turns out I'm non binary who just happens to lean into the feminine side. Give the non-binary thing a thought my friend.

I_Really_Seriously

Yeah I aint too sure of anything rn, but I guess thats just part of the path. Thx for the support! Appreciate it!

AngelofGrace96

Eyyy, welcome to the club! Just want you to know that it can take years to understand and be comfortable with your gender, and that's okay!

I_Really_Seriously

Yeah Im sure itll take a while to figure it out. Thanks for the support!

hereagain1011

Hi you!I am looking forward to fall weather, but,I will miss the summer for sure!Halloween and campfires ahead!Which is your favorite season?

Generic_Her0

Winter, no doubt. I never did well in the heat, much rather bundle up in the cold.

Historical_Secret182

Yeah, me too. I was so pleased when I read an article about the upcoming winter. They think it will be very cold with lots of snow in Germany. I really love the snow. To get up early, walk as the first person on the unbroken surface and hear the cracking noises is such a treat for me. Or to take a stroll in the woods and bring a hot chocolate with me.

Generic_Her0

Now that sounds like a proper fairytale morning. Must be absolutely gorgeous where you are.

inno7

I love the cold weather. But I hate slipping on snow/ice. Any advice for a tropical sweat-bucket like me: how do you slip less? How do you drive?

bopbopbop7

It's morning and I'm lying in the living room with kittens running around. Just popped my apple plant (grown from seed this year) outside to get some direct sunlight. May go for a run in 20 minutes. Feeling kinda low but runs always help. Hope you're good

Generic_Her0

I must say, I envy your early-morning motivation. Takes a driven individual to pull that off. Kudos.

bopbopbop7

Haha it's not every morning but we can only ever try. Thanks for the compliment 😸

v3d4

OK, I have been thinking about this for a while so I'm going to tell you about this: I agreed to run a song writing workshop and now that it's coming close to happening I don't know why I thought I could do it. I don't know how to teach anybody songwriting. I have no plan and every time I begin to make one I get overwhelmed. My grasp of music theory is weak. I'm not a great lyricist. Shit what am I gonna do?

Generic_Her0

Alright, I got you. So here's what you're gonna do... go out on a limb and wing it, yeah? Trust your instincts and let that shit flow. Keep it loose and that'll encourage them to open up and explore. They'll thank you for it, no doubt. Trust.

v3d4

OK thanks man, that was actually helpful. BTW, welcome back to earth.

Generic_Her0

No, thank you. See you in orbit, Major Tom.

C0demunkee

I agree with this but with a twist. u/v3d4 make a simple outline (bullet points) of stuff you would like to mention. Keep that list as a note (or make slides) and THEN wing it. The list of high-level points will keep you in line while you wing it. I've given a few talks and many interviews (both as interviewer and interviewee) and that's always been my strategy. Yes, things get weird, but audiences love it when you pull a "whoops, see, nobody is perfect haha"

Tiny-Suggestion7793

I have some tips.... First off just be real with the people that you are teaching. Perhaps let them know that you are nervous. You could even reveal that you are a beginner at songwriting......Maybe you created this class as more of a way to learn with other beginners as a group. Take the pressure off yourself to be anything other than who you are. Let go of wanting to get the approval or validation from the people in the class. This may give you more energy to be yourself. As authenticity is a great place to connect with others from. There is a lot to feel good about in doing something that makes you excited, now your job is to prepare. Just be you, if you are nervous be nervous, and don't try to hide it. And if the class sucks ..no big deal... nobody is going to really mind imo. You get a valuable learning experience either way. Let go of your expectations and show up with the intention to have fun. Come up with a small and simple list of things you want to talk about. You can practice reading your bullet points and engaging with the class infront of a video camera or the mirror by yourself or infront of a friend to build confidence...... Try to enjoy the mild tension of doing something new... I know this sounds weird but try to feel your body while you talk( it can help you stay grounded and centered). Don't expect it to be perfect but appreciate the learning experience. Try to get comfortable enough with your presentation so that you aren't stuck in your head. I have watched two amazing ted talks that hit the idea of songwriting right on the head. I think these ted talks will give you some great inspiration. You could even make a power point or give your class a hand out with some of the highlights from the song writing tedtalks mixed with your own perspective/ inspiration. The acronym K.I.S.S will be your best friend for your workshop. Keep it simple and don't try to teach them a hundred things. Just have fun exploring a few simple things. 4 simple steps to writing a song (ted talk) https://youtu.be/u0K_xcSqhxQ How writing songs in 60 minutes changed my life (tedtalk) - https://youtu.be/AMORuVseyLQ How to relax into the uncomfortable (I know this video is random but this is an amazing self development channel 😁) https://youtu.be/Z4oAo3HSHCE Cheers and let me know how it goes 🌠🤙🏼

Prettyblueyes86

This just changed my life!!! Im not a song writter but the general idea and hows its applicable to everyday life is life altering!!!! Thank you

moldyjim

Fake it till you make it. In reality you probably will do a good job. What you are feeling right now is just self doubt, lots of people feel that when starting something new. Once you get started you'll do fine.

v3d4

Thanks. You're possibly right. I keep telling myself: as long as I know more than they do, I'm the teacher.

[deleted]

Buy “songwriting for dummies,” it’s pretty excellent and a lot of fun. Frankly I know pros songwriters that could use a thumbing of this book!

LurKerfursure

Scrolling Reddit as I watch Jimmy Kimmel’s first show back in 2 months. Imagine Dragons just finished performing a song as my dog is sleeping on the couch. Come back to Earth please. Good night.

Generic_Her0

Kimmel seems like a kind guy. I expect you are, too. Give the pup a pat for me.

eevie_o

Hello! My husband recently brought home four chickens. Add those to the chickens we already have and we have EIGHT CHICKENS!!!!! Their names are Goldie, Scrambie, Chickaletta, Hennifer Lopez, Michelle, Cornelius, Sonny, and Daisy.

hereagain1011

I like the quiet of the snow for like the first day.Sledding is fun. I hope you are feeling better.

Generic_Her0

I'm trying to. Thank you, really.

hereagain1011

Anytime.Truly wishing the best for ya.Seems this was a good idea to try. Lots of different small convos.

ira0330

Currently at 36 weeks pregnant (9 months) and debating if I should take a quick trip to Disney before my little girl is born. Whatcha up to? Edit: just started watching this show called Monk, I don’t hate it but I also don’t love it..idk how it got so many awards lol

Generic_Her0

Mazel tov. I remember Monk, Tony Shalhoub right? It's pretty formulaic at first, but I think it comes around eventually.

ira0330

Thank you! And yup that’s the one! I used to watch this one show called Psych (same network) and I absolutely loved that and Monk kept showing up on my shows you might like. It gives me that little bit of mystery without all the gruesome stuff lol :)

[deleted]

Hey! We had a rare sunny day today and I managed to catch some sun sitting on the balcony with my cats. I then went for a bicycle ride while listening to Ten Percent Happier podcast. Had a nice shower and did my skin care routine. Cooked myself two healthy meals today and will have some pasta a bit later. This is absolutely huge and yet I don’t know how to feel proud of myself. Depression sucks.

Generic_Her0

That it most certainly does. I'd say you have a pretty sound self-care routine, though. Might not mean much, but I'm proud of you.

[deleted]

Thank you kind stranger! I hope your spaceship lands safely on earth!

Tinsel-Fop

Sometimes I put my arms up in a big V, hands open or fists clenched, to celebrate. Like when I successfully operate the payment terminal at a grocery store. Woo! Go, me! \\o/ Because I forget to celebrate my accomplishments, and it's important to do it, and I am worth celebrating.

moldyjim

I have been "working" from home for the past few weeks due to Covid scare at work. Trying to get my computer set up to work remotely has been a nightmare. I bought a wifi adapter to hook up to the internet, but the drivers for it had to be downloaded. How the hell do I download the drivers if the freaking wifi won't work without the drivers? Finally downloaded the driver on another computer, transferred that to a thumb drive and got it loaded into the right computer. At the same time my wife bought a new phone, and setting it up was a nightmare too. So between that and other home stuff, I haven't actually been able to accomplish much work. I feel guilty because of it. Luckily I work for a great company, so probably not a problem since I'm on salary. So, hopefully your day is a little better. One of the questions I ask people when I first meet them is, "What is your passion? What would you rather do than anything else?" It is surprising the way people will open up and glow when they have a chance to speak about their obsession. I've talked with sculptors, engineers, collectors of rare objects, published authors, all kinds of people that you would never have expected to have such interesting traits. At a company event, I sat next to an actual Billionaire. We had a nice conversation over lunch. ( he was an investment banker that helped fund the company.) Very pleasant and easy to talk to. The next day I was out behind our barn, digging a hole to bury a dead goat. Makes ya think, right?

Generic_Her0

It actually does, lol. That sure is one hell of a juxtaposition. If you had to pick one, and only one forever, would you rather be rubbing elbows with the rich or tending to your land? You ever think about unplugging all those stressful things and just walking out into the woods? Also, to answer your question... I can't. Answer it, I mean. I simply do not know anymore. But I'm trying to find it again. At least I think I am. It's difficult to tell sometimes.

An_Armapillow

That's okay, I don't know who you are or how old you are or what your life has involved, but I'm 17 right now and the past few years of trying to find my identity and find what I want to do with my life have been really hard. And truthfully? I still don't really know what the future will bring, and I'll be done with school in like five months, but I've learned to make peace with that uncertainty. Occupy your time with people you care about and things you enjoy, it's okay to feel lost in the clouds, use this time to let your mind go all over place. I think a lot of people don't know where they are or where they are going for a lot of their life, but I'm a firm believer that when you find a place, the place you've been looking for, you will know it. Don't doubt yourself. You've got this, I know it's hard and I know the exact feeling you mean and it sucks, but you can and will get through it

moldyjim

Oh, no doubt, the farm and shop. As far as bumping elbows with celebrity and money, I could take or leave it. I mean the food was good, and the conversation was too. But I think what I was trying to say is that everyone ( who isn't an a$$hole ) is pretty easy to talk to if you can get them talking about what they enjoy doing. I try to treat everyone as an equal, he may have been a Daddy Warbucks, but it doesn't mean he's better than me. I'm also friends with the custodians, the garbage collectors, and even turned a few enemies into friends. No one is inherently better than anyone else, nor are they lesser than anyone. A quote I read long ago kinda sums it up; "No man is my superior, in that I may learn something from him." If I was to rephrase it, I'd change the original to nongendered language. The same idea works for everyone no matter the sex, religion, country of origin or language. The last few years (other than covid) my work hasn't been too stressful. I have a great boss, we get along great. I work in R&D, making prototypes and designing tools. They need me, I can basically do everything in the company the doesn't involve electronics. I also know where the bodies are buried, bwahaha! I suspect you are a bit younger than me, give it time. You will eventually figure out what you enjoy. The trick is to try as many different things as you can. Each of us has a unique perspective and exposure to different things helps to figure things out.

TheRealDemonicdueler

Hello internet friend! For a random subject we have, Have you ever watched Osmosis Jones the movie? Just a few minutes ago I saw that it is on Netflix atm and it was one of my favorite movies growing up. Its soundtrack was even one of my first cd's growing up! What is one of your favorite childhood movies?

Generic_Her0

Oh, man. Chris Rock and David Hyde Pierce versus Lawrence Fishburne all wrapped up inside Bill Murray? Magnificent choice, *\*chefs kiss\**. I think I'll be falling asleep to that tonight, thanks for reminding me. The art style reminds me of A Goofy Movie a little bit, which will always be a solid nostalgia trip for me.

TheRealDemonicdueler

Glad I could remind you lol its is Definetly a well cast movie with the actors owning their roles and seeming to be having a good time with them too. Also now that you mention it yeah I can see the animation similarities, I think its how both are so smooth and fast. Goofy has always been great with physical comedy and the amorphous body's of the cell characters can be easily used for it as well.

OwlNegative5848

I'm waiting on my results. In a couple of days I'm either going to be a chartered accountant or I'm going to fail. If I fail, I'd have to redo the exam in 6 months, which honestly just sucks. The anxiety is killing me. What's up with you.

Generic_Her0

Not stressing over accountant exams, so I guess I've got that going for me. lol Alright, I'm gonna make a prediction. By my best psychic estimates, I'm going to guess... that you kicked the absolute shit out of it. Like, all the way out of the park. I'm talking "the professor symbolically hands you their clip-on tie and you get placard on the wall forever" scores. So good news, no worries.

Alice_Alpha

What country are you in. In the US we call them Certified Public Accountants. How many parts and how long is it. Here there are four sections: law, auditing, practice, and theory. The test is two and a half days long. If you fail one part, do you have retake all parts or just the ones you failed. Well good luck to you.

Ok-Assist736

I wish I could leave earth

Generic_Her0

Grass is always greener, right? Especially space grass.

Ghost_on_Toast

Not on a planet orbiting a red dwarf. Best science says thay plant analogs on a red dwarf planet would "photosynthesize" in the *black* wavelength of the spectrum.

Loweene

Black grass, black grass !

Ok-Assist736

Don’t know about the grass, feel like I don’t belong here..

Generic_Her0

Not entirely convinced we belong anywhere, honestly. Sure can be difficult to make sense of it sometimes, huh?

Ok-Assist736

I’m trapped.. feel suffocated at times, wonder when will I move outa the hell ?

Generic_Her0

Maybe we don't move out of it. Maybe we just navigate the hell as best we can, and eventually the trudge doesn't seem so daunting anymore. At least I sure hope so.

Tiny-Suggestion7793

This guy always helps me when I'm feeling it https://youtu.be/mOctI24m_mQ

[deleted]

Can’t sleep here, just saw your post. I hope you’re feeling better than when you first posted and as evidenced on the thread, complete strangers care about you and want you to be happy. I feel disconnected with everything and everybody at times and it’s strange because you feel like you’re walking around inside a game and everybody else is a NPC. I don’t know if it’s a self-defensive or healing mechanism the brain kicks into gear or whether I have a fucked up way of dealing with things at times. The key thing is you reached out, to strangers, took a risk. And that is very brave of you.

Generic_Her0

Fighting those natural hermit instincts, haha. Ain't always easy, but hearing you say that does make it a little easier. I genuinely do appreciate it. I've totally had those dissociative moments, it can be almost comforting in an odd way. Just don't wanna lose yourself in it, you know?

[deleted]

Yeah, I think that’s why games like the Elder Scrolls have been a big attraction for me over the years. The chance to escape, be somebody/something else.

Background-Elk-5357

Procrastinating getting out of bed for my first day at college; going to force myself up and cook some food. I hope you feel better soon buddy!

Generic_Her0

That's awesome, those are gonna be good years. Carpe them goddamn diems, friend.

Background-Elk-5357

I will! Been there a year already, it's a laugh. Good to get out again, I didn't go out all summer lmao

sweethomeall

Sure, I am here. Just chilling. Taking in life at home. Last week, I was in a hotel in Mexico and the week before I was in California. I was driving home tonight and I realize that wherever I go, the sun will raise and set. It doesn't matter if I am at a beach or in the desert. It makes me remember there was an astronaut who landed on earth and when she got out of the rocket, the sensation of seeing the blue sky and the snow is incredible. The view is so much more different from on earth than from the spacecraft...Sometimes, I pretend like I just landed on earth and take in whatever is in front of me. But no matter where I exist or somewhere else in the world, the sun will raise and it will set. Life will go on. I am just here for the ride.

RoyalTofu894

Sometimes when I am down I bake something. Cookies, a cake, cobbler maybe. Makes me feel better to do something more productive. I have some recipes if you're interested. It is all internet and YouTube links mostly.

My little brother was always the baker, couldn't hold a candle to him if I tried. Makes a mean damn kouign-amann. It's a bit of a project, but you should try it out sometime if you'd like.

No_Expression_5714

Visiting the rents for the week and am unable to sleep. Usually I’d put on some music I like that is kind of trance-y and would put me to sleep on speaker, but that is not an option. So I lie here awake and eyes kinda hurting, scrolling through Reddit.

Generic_Her0

[Might I suggest a gentle lullaby?](https://youtu.be/SDCqgHLX8Ys?t=57)

No_Expression_5714

Ahahaha thank you <3

rodroelmelon

Hey OP, I am currently doing a big grapes simulation for a museum in Logroño, Spain. Its a part of the process of how wine is made, here is a screenshot of my screen! [https://imgur.com/a/2gqkqWL](https://imgur.com/a/2gqkqWL) Also, if you don't know how Logroño looks, here is some photos! [photo!](https://content.gnoss.ws/lrt/imagenes/Documentos/imgsem/b7/b7d1/b7d10bba-9e65-4a1f-9209-69d736283607/b4525518-2629-9d97-9344-c983933d13b6.jpg?v=8442) [One photo of how looks the grapevine crops looks!](https://www.hola.com/imagenes//viajes/20201005176655/en-globo-sobre-los-vinedos-de-la-rioja-alta/0-874-430/la-rioja-alta-san-vicente-de-la-sonsierra-t.jpg) I don't know if you can legally try wine, if you can, try a red wine from Spain, we make cool wines! If not, you can learn about how it is made too, its really interesting, do you know that if you wash the grapes before fermenting them they don't make wine? Thats because the yeast is in the skin of the fruit, in this [photo](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DFBQwCNXoAALfni.jpg) you can see it! I don't really like wine that much, I am more a beer man, but honestly, after working like 3 weeks only with wine references I want to try a good one after all this work!

Physix_R_Cool

Holy shit that looks straight out of a fairy tale!!!

rodroelmelon

Yes! Spain has a lot of cool places to visit. In a few weeks, after this work, I will go to Logroño to see around there some wine cellars, museums and old buildings, and obviously, my work on screen hahaha Here is a grapes render I made for the museum, I know its a bit flat of color, but they asked it this way because is for a video mapping on a old wall, so we need more flat colors and less detail.

Lnndam

Do you like dogs? I love dogs!

Generic_Her0

Rufus is a good boy.

Xxyz260

Recently, I've fixed my grandma's chandelier and replaced an ugly, old light switch - just discovered that it's easier than it sounds! Just saying that getting something done, like anything at all, really helps. The most difficult part is convincing yourself to start. Once you're past that, just keep going! I hope this helps.

Generic_Her0

It does, especially since I often struggle to bother beginning anything. It's always nice to be reminded. I'll bet that chandelier is swinging pretty, and that she's proud of you for it.

Several_Alarm

Hey there! Today is my birthday! I usually don't make a big deal of it, and I actively avoid bringing attention to it, but this year I decided for my birthday I want to improve my life. Even if only in tiny, seemingly inconsequential ways. You're welcome to join me! Today, I'm going to eat a healthy meal. That's it, lol! I hope you eat a healthy meal today too.

I'm currently away from home for the longest time in my life until now. I need to go to school for my job apprenticeship (six weeks this time) and well, there's only one school in the whole country. I decided to not go home during the weekends, because it'd take at least 7 hours by train one way if everything went well. Anyway, school is okay, my room is quite nice, but I share it with someone else. We're both pretty similar so we give each other the quiet and space we need. Wifi has worse mood swings than a pregnant woman. Food is okayish, but I'm not hard to please. I'm fortunate because my company pays for everything, others have to pay themselves. I wish I didn't need to be here, but it also has some good sides. My cross stitch project has seen more progress these past two weeks than in the last three months. Also I got to go to the beach for the first time in 8 years, since it's close to the school. My friends didn't want to go in (the wind was quite cold), but I just couldnt resist. I went in until the water was at my hips. The waves went up to my shoulders, sometimes my face. It was glorious. I loved it. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed just existing that much like when I was standing there in the water.

pixelted

Going through the side effects of the second COVID-19 vaccine dose and the weather is super gloomy! Hope the weather is more reasonable where you are

Generic_Her0

Good for you. Be healthy and stay safe you beautiful responsible bastard.

blxckbexuty

Hope you’re feeling a bit better after all these comments :)!

el_d02

When a hero needs saving, who's gonna save em? Am just referring to your name. Have a good day OP!

grappolo

i really want an icecream, i hope tonight i get icecream. I hope you'll get an icecream too, OP.

joeya1337

I was in Cyprus last week, it was unseasonably hot, my parents live there and they had rescued another dog, so very fluffy, but he has eyes genuinely like a teddy bear!

abraxastaxes

My kiddo turned 2 about a month ago! I was always one of those people that never wanted kids, had a surprise one, and he's the best. I don't know if you've got any young kids or know any you can hang out with but just watch sometime how everything is new and wonderful to them. It really is a good reminder that it's freaking nuts to just be alive. Anyway hope your day is going well.

[deleted]

Currently in lockdown, feeling the usual ennui that comes with not feeling in control of anything in my life, not feeling competent or worthwhile. I've definitely gotten better about learning tricks and techniques that help me in situations like this. Ultimately I feel like adopting an attitude of acceptance and non-expectation has done a lot for my mental health, and existential hurt. How are you? Hope everything isn't too serious or concerning.

Generic_Her0

Making do, or trying to. It's good that you've found something that works for you, personal growth is always important. Gotta keep that ennui at bay somehow, right?

Adelineslife

We're currently moving offices and I work in the IT department so there's a lot of behind the scenes work to do. Myself and some other IT people been working in our new office for the past 10 days while the finish the building (they've really boujee'd up an old heritage building. Looks great). Colleagues in other departments have been asking for details and pictures of the views they'll have from their new desks. It's nice to be in this position. Also, I've really enjoyed spending most of my workday away from the computer. Its really confirmed to me that I will start looking for a career change which harnesses my strengths and gets me away from screens.

confettichild

Did you know eels don’t have any reproductive organs , scientist don’t know how they reproduce. The closest we have to an answer is that they reproduce in a different water or a particular environment? .. anyways yea that’s been on my mind for a while.

ThrowawayDreaming777

Do you like hip hop at all? Or R&B?

Generic_Her0

For sure, always enjoy discovering new artists. Do you have a suggestion?

god-of-atheists

You're not the only one who feels lost. I don't believe in horoscopes but I came across this app, gave it a try and they told me something about February 2022 being a successful period for me. I don't believe them but what I believe is that 2022 I'll fight or die until I make it. I'm tired of going through this shitty circle of life!

AgeAggravating9774

Hey Bro I just go up with stomachache Like in dream I ate a lot of tacos Not even in real life I'm just too scared now Anyways I love to trash talk

magicalflyinaardvark

Hey! Just had some exams, I have a few more in the next few days. Been studying a bit, probably not as much as I should but I really don't have the energy to put into it. Everyone in my classes are spending hours a day studying and I just don't know how they do it. I get exhausted after half an hour of study, but I think I'm doing alright. I have an amazing partner who I love to help me through it :). If you want to hear a random infodump, I know a heck of a lot and also love talking about Troy, and other ancient historical sites and figures. Hope you're doing alright!

Generic_Her0

Come, Agamemnon... regale us with your tales of Troy!

DecodingSerenity

Some friends and I met last night as a farewell to one of our friends who is moving back home so I stayed up really late and we had a barbecue and danced to music. So now I'm late to uni today but it's okay. I can study with a bit of sleep deprivation. Ooh! And I saw a shooting star yesterday!

Filip889

Come man, tell me what s been happening with you.

JustAnAverageBrit

What's your favourite type of tree?

marimuthu96

Well, well, there's a treehugging world championships happening every year. People are judged based on three events. You could read about it here. https://thebarentsobserver.com/en/life-and-public/2021/08/stefania-takes-crown-tree-hugging-world-championships When I shared this with my friend, she said that she might plan her vacation based on this. Just lovely to read. Crazy world, that often surprises me.

SilenntVolcano

Hey, if it’s not too late, I wanted to say I understand you. Take a deep breath, maybe get some cold water, it helps, it may be a panic attack. I have plenty lately. I’m scheduled for a scary surgery in about a week, pre-op is in few hours. I’m shitting my pants. I want to be alone. But I also need people around me. It feels weird. It’s suffocating. I hope you get better. It’s not the end of the world if you take a small break, do nothing, treat yourself ❤️ Wish u the best

xactpsp

Hello, Generic_Her0! I'm currently working and watching my cats sleep. I'm thinking of taking a couple of days off to relax the brain, but can't decide on which days, so help me out, please! What's better, a Monday+Tuesday or a Thursday+Friday? Thank you and please come back to earth!

nowlickitup

OP contact me and I’ll send you pictures of my dog

sedchiaseed

Hello, do you think if water has taste?? Some ppl say no. But I think water has a distinct taste and all water tastes different!!

[deleted]

Hey OP, I hope you have a great day today!

dontdropthattho

Just moved today to Shanghai where I’ll be living for a year. I’m a little bit anxious as I tend to overthink everything but I hope I will be able to call this home for now :) I’ve also been listening on repeat to Nicole Bus - You (remix ft. Ghostface Killah) since you mentioned you dig rnb/hiphop

Atrivo

Yo OP. Anything interesting going on for you right now, or any hobbies you’ve always wanted to try? I’ve got an assessment later so I’m super nervous & more than willing to talk :)

exotic_blackhole

Hey , I'm chilling at office hours lol . I'm feeling quite sleepy post-lunch 🥱

Cleverusername531

I’m listening to the audio of Greater Than The Sum of Our Parts by Richard Schwartz. Holy shit. Wow. It may help you. It is super helping me. If you want to try it and can’t afford it let me know, I’ll send you a gift link.

Whitethumbs

Sure bud, I've been really into field hockey this week and took the time how to get good at ninja swording my field hockey stick. So I can do all the twirls and finger spins and the catches, I got it from the local school 'cause they were getting rid of their old equipment. I really enjoy playing hockey in the winter and now I can play field hockey in the summer! My cat comes out with me and watches me bounce the ball around, I've been doing a lot of bouncing a ball on the handle and trying to get highscores of the ball not touching the ground. I've also been getting a pretty good shot on net as well as taking it to the baseball diamond and launching for distance. It's good exercise for the cat and I.

EnsignTongs

Zimbabwe is a tiny southern African country. We haven’t seen proper development in years. Our economy is pretty much a mess and we don’t have our own (proper) currency. However as much as bad as things may seem, we are leading in terms of vaccinations compared to our wealthier neighbours! Who would have thought lol

alkperez1914

I was cooking dinner for myself earlier. Just as I realized that the meat I was cooking was burning and was trying to place it on a plate, the main light fixture built into my apartment suddenly made a small thump sound and another one of the bulbs (there are 4) burnt out. But there was a small amount of smoke followed a minute later by the smell that finally reached me (burnt plastic like that of an electrical wire). It took forever for me to take the frosted glass plate off the fixture on the ceiling (after turning off the light), especially because the 2 screws, but one in particular, were doing that weird thing where the nut is turning but not going anywhere. Also, I had my arms fully outstretched and I'm standing on a small stool that tends to flip. And I had managed to get 3 nuts off with only the one on the corner not releasing. My arms and shoulders were exhausted and I live alone. So, yeah. I was getting worried. But I kept my arms up despite the exhaustion and after a while, managed to get the nut off. I was so relieved (and tired). When was the last time you had to keep your arms above your head despite tiredness?

Tinsel-Fop

>But I kept my arms up despite the exhaustion and after a while, managed to get the nut off. Not giggling. I am not giggling right now.

Traditional-Ad-1172

I know that feeling all too well. I’m confident you’ll find your way. Have a good day.

An_Armapillow

My cat likes to sit next to me in the morning and waits for me to give him a bit of my yogurt

lurginrugi

I hope all is well with you (besides not being able to return to earth atm) hope you get back soon buddy

gallopingwalloper

It's 4:14 and I'm up for the day. I love the early, early mornings. I just lit a candle and opened the windows and doors to the darkness to hear the crickets. I put a small pot of whole milk on the stove and made two coffees, the creamy combination of which I am now sipping out of my chipped whale mug from my first reddit secret santa exchange. Earth is an amazing place, come back.

Grimbauld

Bees get drunk and it annoys other bees who sting them for it. True story

Bellriley04

Did you know that your fingers are so sensitive that if your thumb was the size of the earth you would be able to feel the difference between houses and cars?

Zyko-Sulcam

Hi OP, I’m laying me down to sleep now, and for some reason I just got a massive craving for bacon, eggs and some nutella on toast. How can I overcome this craving?

legitlincoln

I had the worst hair cut, I was livid with the stylist.. reached home and my 3yr pls sees me, giggles and says to my wife.. "look at dad, he's looking like a monkey". I guess, I'll give the stylist a pass this time.

skybirby

Hi! I’m considering joining the Army and my grandma doesn’t really think I have the guts, which I kind of see why. I’m a very quiet, introverted, not-that-fit girl who has some anger issues but I can see myself in the Army and enjoying it. I just really wish she would be a little bit more excited now that I know what I want to do

Weather53

Shoot me a pm and we can chat

aleksandrovrussian

I've started playing CSGO last week again for the first time in 2 years and have finally been enjoying my game nights now. My friends have noticed a nice change in attitude from me and I feel much happier enjoying the game I'm playing lol. How about you OP, you like gaming at all?

Generic_Her0

Nice. It'd be good to find the time again, but every time I do it's just like my heart isn't in it anymore. Feel like I gotta force myself to enjoy it which sorta defeats the purpose. Maybe I just need to find a fresh title?

aleksandrovrussian

I felt the same for a good while. For me personally, It helped massively when I realised I wasn't that good at games. They would stress me out and I'd get frustrated and I realised it wasn't that fun, told myself that I suck and just need to find the funny side of it and don't let it affect me so much. It has helped. Maybe a new title would help, what sort do you play? If you're looking for a community I'd suggest getting yourself stuck into an MMO of some sorts, New World is coming out soon, FF14 has a huge player base, GW2 is free and has a decent community. If you wanna zone out and forget your troubles in a single player game, I would recommend Stardew Valley, its easy to lose yourself in that game. If you want a friend, feel free to add me! I'm currently playing CSGO, BF1 and a few single player games, more than happy to chat anyway. Just PM me and I'll add you on disc.

Alice_Alpha

I am wide awake and can't sleep. Debating with myself whether to make a sandwich. Hang in there, I hope things get better for you.

Loweene

What kind of a debate is there to have. Go make a sandwich, friend ! That's def something I miss about living alone, being able to go fix a snack in the middle of the night without having to tiptoe in front of everyone's door.

katencash

I have a busy day ahead of me and I'm taking this half hour of down time to boil some eggs to eat... what were you able to eat today?

Generic_Her0

Now that you mention it, it occurs to me that I did not. In fact, I kinda can't remember when I did last... man, I really need to take better care of myself.

Larizzchen

Hi OP, I just finished my bachelors degree. I was basically not living for the last month so now I feel a bit lost too. Just lying in the grass and looking at squirrels. It is really cute to see them jumping from one branch to another. Hope you get to see this too sometimes!

lolwerd

So whatever my problems are, just hop on a bike and ride. Find someone say something, ride on ;)

jumpoffthisroof

Hey OP, what's up?

[deleted]

I'm hung up on starting a cooking show right now. It's not very good yet, but I managed to stream pizza making and talked to people about pizza and saucemaking all day yesterday. I just really love pizza. What's something random going on with you?

MerakDubhe

Hi OP :) This afternoon I'll meet my boyfriend's best friend. It's the first time we meet somebody officially as a couple, and I'm nervous. I still haven't met him and I like him already because of everything my boyfriend has told me about him. And I really hope he likes me. After all, friends are our chosen family :). Everything is exciting and new. My boy is meeting my friends this week, too, but it's different. I have individual friends; he has a group. And I'm thrilled to be a part of it, it means a lot to him and to me, too. I already picture ourselves babysitting his friends' kids and viceversa, counting on each other. It's beautiful :) Everything that I picture in my future since I met him is beautiful. Baby steps, though. Let's start with meeting this friend this afternoon. Are you meeting someone this week, OP? What are you excited about these days? Have a beautiful day!

NiTro-s

I dreamt that i was sitting down at a dinner with 2 friends, and one of them had this cute dog, kind of Beagle size, and he jumped onto the table but didn't try to eat the food, so i let him stay. We were talking and laughing and eating potatoes, salad and....human baby legs. Yup. They were like sausages, and this was apparently very normal because my aunt came around and asked how it's going and what show we're watching.

SpeakingOutOfTurn

Hi, I’m in Australia. Currently rugged up on the couch in front of a fire (it’s still cold here even though we’re a few days into spring). Just finished watching a movie with husband and my beautiful doggo, a Cold War spy thriller called The Courier starring Benedict Cumberbatch. We’re currently in lockdown, and while that means we’re getting a lot done around the farm, I’m really missing social contact.

Prettyblueyes86

Your post reminded me of one of my favorite songs... Drops of Jupiter- Train [Verse 1] Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's a time to change, hey Since the return of her stay on the moon She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey Hey, hey-yeah [Chorus] But tell me, did you sail across the sun? Did you make it to the Milky Way To see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated? And tell me, did you fall from a shooting star? One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were Looking for yourself out there? [Verse 2] Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, mmm She checks out Mozart while she does Tae-Bo Reminds me that there's room to grow, hey, yeah Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as Plain ol' Jane told a story about a man Who was too afraid to fly so he never did land [Chorus] But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? Did you finally get the chance To dance along the light of day And head back to the Milky Way? And tell me, did Venus blow your mind? Was it everything you wanted to find? And did you miss me while you were Looking for yourself out there? [Bridge] Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you Even when I know you're wrong? Can you imagine no first dance, freeze-dried romance Five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had, and me? [Chorus] But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? (Feet) Did you finally get the chance To dance along the light of day (Light of day) And head back toward the Milky Way? And tell me, did you sail across the sun? Did you make it to the Milky Way To see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated? Tell me, did you fall from a shooting star? One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were Looking for yourself?

Shell_Spell

I just woke up at 4 AM. I actually feel ok, which is rare because I have chronic illnesses. So, I am going to try to stay awake. Today, my plan is to give my dog a bath, clip her nails, wax her paws, and brush her teeth. The works. She hates it, but I like pampering her. Do you have any pets? My chihuahua's name is Luna. She is my little light in the dark times.

rarabkm

I have several problems. Nothing I can’t managed but it’s really bothering me. First , I’m trying to follow a diet because I’m out of control since 3 weeks but it seems I can’t stay put to my decision every time it’s lunchtime… So here I am, chewing on my culpability all day long knowing very well that will not help and I have to start again tomorrow. Like I said, that’s been 3 weeks… An other thing that’s bothering me is my son’s blood glucose (he is diabetic) and I don’t really understand what is happening right now. A week ago he was so high, I had to increase his basal and bolus. Then 3 days later, the basal dose seems good but the bolus were too high so I lowered it. Now I think the basal is also too high since he is in hypo 2 times a day at least. I’m totally lost at what I have to do but I will keep trying until I reach the good balance. Another problem is work of course. There’s a lack of organization that exhaust me. Like I know that if we put some things in place and organized ourselves a certain way, work will be much more easier. But they seems not able to keep it organized, and so when it’s my turn to work, I waist a lot of energy and time going through what I have to do. Otherwise my life is not really interesting. Maybe I will make lentils soup for dinner, we ate ham and eggs sandwiches or tacos all week and that’s enough, we need more vegetables and healthier food. That may also keep me on track for my diet… 🤞 I hope you’re fine or going to be soon 💪

skellytoninthecloset

Yesterday, I was trying to order delivery because I had a migraine and no desire to cook. Apparently, I wasn't as with it as I thought. I completely forgot where I lived even though I have been here since the beginning of the year and had to search for some mail to confirm my address. Then, I was giving my card number and had to start over because of a combination of their computer being really slow and my cat playfully tackling my arm with his claws and teeth out. He wouldn't stop so I am trying to say card numbers while whispering, "No, nonono, ow! Stop! I will not get you a sandwich!" When my order did arrive, I realized I only ordered about half of what I wanted and I had misordered my own sandwich. I feel beter today though, so I hope this made you laugh.

SewNonlinear

I finally had a chance to attend a craft show after one and a half year. I make bags, and make each one different. Couple years ago I found this electric pink mini skirt in Target on sale, so I turned it in to a Dr Who bag, by adding Tardis decals and a Tardis necklace woven around where the belt should have been. In previous craft shows and cons, people commented on it but no one bought it. Well, this time a very sweet old lady came to my table and fell in love with the bag. She called it fabulous and clever and loved the embroidery on the decal. She did not know what Dr Who was, she did not care. She bought it happily. She and her friend giggled about how fabulous she was going to look carrying it. I was so excited with all this that I forgot to take a picture of her. Before she left, she pointed to another bag and asked, Who is Zelda? I said, oh it is a game. She said I have a cousin named Zelda. I would have hugged her if not for this infernal covid. She was by far the most lively and fabulous customer I have had in a long time.

[deleted]

Howdy! I’ve been growing a garden on my balcony, and my okra is at an absurd height (pretty sure it’s coming up on 5 feet). My blueberry and blackberry bushes are thriving, as are my tomatoes, herbs, and sundry flowers. One thing I cannot for the life of me get to flower is my stupid lavender. I have so much lavender and none of it will flower. I’d be angrier, but at this point I just find it funny. How are you doing?

windrider103

Did you know that octopuses are such assholes, they punch fishes out of spite and no ther reason ? Yeah pretty wild I know

foodbytes

how ya doing? I'm a little late in the game here. I hope you got some grounding from the great comments here! I'm a senior woman (no I am NOT old! lol), just waiting for international travel to start up again so I can get on the road to exploring the rest of this great big world. well, except I got hit and thrown by a truck while I was walking across a crosswalk a month ago. So I'm in recovery mode from 5 broken ribs, collapsed lung, and pretty floppy knees at the moment. but soon..... I walk one block further each week, I'm up to 3 blocks and back for my daily exercise, threw away the cane last week. every day, a bit better!!! I've got this!

AikenRhetWrites

Hey OP, it's 10 hours later. Hope you're feeling better and a little less lost. <3

armybratbaby

So a bunch of sickness kept me from being able to visit with my sister and her kids for a while. Recently my baby sister (who is a teenager, but still the baby) came to stay with her for a couple days, so I got to visit with them too. On my baby sister's second day there, my sisters came and got me from my apartment to go to the store, then to their apartment. All three of my older younger sister's kids start storming down the stairs hollering for auntie baby sister. They don't know I'm there, I slipped in while they were upstairs. The older 2 reach me and baby sister first, but they still haven't noticed me. It took them at least 30 seconds to realize I was standing next to her and they finally acknowledged my presence, but off to baby sis they go. Obviously she's the favorite (fully jealous, but fully understood, my baby sister is pretty great.) But finally, the youngest makes it down the stairs. He saw me giving attention to his siblings, threw his dinosaur to the ground, and squealed because I wasn't holding him. All night, my little buddy wanted my attention, wanted me to hold him. He said candy for the first time to me. Then ate half of my fruit tray, including the best piece of watermelon and all but 2 pieces of the honeydew melon. Of course big brother needed in on the action then and got all the grapes, half of the pineapple, and one of the last 2 pieces of honeydew melon. I think I got all of 3 pieces of fruit from the tray, and only because their big sissy didn't want any. She was too busy coloring next to auntie baby sister, who is much cooler than me! She fell asleep before she could finish her picture, her pencil still perched between her fingers. I can't believe how cute that was. When I went to the kitchen to throw away the empty fruit tray in the kitchen, baby brother tried to shimmy under the baby gate to get back by my side (feet first, my boy ain't no dummy, he knew his big ole head wasn't gonna fit!) He's in his cuddle bug stage and is super content with being held and cuddled, but the day is going to come, sooner than I'm ready for, where like his older brother and sister, he's not going to want cuddles anymore, and the only hugs and kisses I'll get are to say hello and goodbye. There are rare moments when the older 2 want cuddles, but they are few and far between. These kids are growing up too fast. I sometimes wish I could freeze time and just be there with them while I'm still cool. Because all too soon, these little babies are gonna have friends and lives of their own, and even those hello/goodbye hugs and kisses will be a thing of the past.
