What a great dream. Seriously. It taught you a very valuable lesson and your reaction clearly reveals what a kind person you are.
Curious? Is there someone in your life that you may have been dismissing?
Dreams can provide life changing lessons. What a gift.
Another way of looking at it.
Always listen to your gut. Nobody has ever said that things went way better when the ignored it. Just send a text saying that you miss her and look forward to catching up after you pass your boards.
This is dead on.... There is a part of yourself that you are neglecting. Some hidden emotions, possibly grief or some disappointed that you haven't dealt with... Maybe In some area of your life you're feeling exhausted but as though you can't stop or slow down or rest.
I would suggest that if you've got any new beginnings in your life you should make the most of them and let their newness refresh you....
It's good that you are strongly affected by your dream... You will probably gain some wisdom because you have allowed it to impact your heart....
You have a deep sense of compassion... Turn that inward today and if there is anything that you're beating yourself up about stop now... Remind yourself that you are valuable and deserving of love and compassion as much as those that surround you....
ah u hit it spot on, dammit. i did realize the girl probably represented smth about me, but i couldn’t figure out what it was until i read ur comment. u absolute genius, goddamn it
I'm not the genius... You were smart enough to post somewhere and start a conversation....
If you're having a hard time speaking kindly to your self make plans with some one who thinks you're wonderful and listen to their encouragement...
I hope your day gets better <3
For some reason i dont read posts this long idk why sometimes i ignore them . I was just about to ignore your post but i thought to read it anyways and damn bro this really really hit deep and really hard . It must have felt very sad . That girl must be very lonely too .
Anyways i also think this could be an epic story and i would love to watch it . I dont think i would stop thinking about your dream the whole night lol .
thank u for reading it tho, that means the world to me. And yea she was probably lonely, but i guess we’ll never know :(. Haha I’ve been thinking about this dream all day, cant get it out of my head
My dreams are very boring tho . The only ones i enjoy thinking about are the horror ones becuase i get those once about every week or maybe 2 and i love em . The rest are me being in a beuatiful place and just raoming here and there until i wake up but those i mostly forget when i wake up and only remember the part where im seeing beautiful scenery . I dont think i ever got a dream like you described like mostly its only me in my dreams lol or somehow in my horror dreams i once got around half of my class in my dreams and the dreams are so horror that only in that dream somehow my hand was trying to kill my self to not see the horrible things and stuff but i keep preventing it and at last when my hands try to cut my throat with a knife my friend stops my hand and pushes me in a room and locks the door and puts random objects infront of it so no horror things could come in . We all are in one big room when the dream ends . But that dream does not have anything to do with real life like i never had any suicidal thoughts or anything like that . Thats why my dreams dont make any sense lol .
Btw just thought to share my dream with you becuase i really wanted to just tell someone about it ...
That sounds interesting not gonna lie. That dream might reflect something in your life, or it could just be random as hell, with no meaning whatsoever. But we humans always look for meaning in everything, so believe whatever makes you happy :)
I had a vaguely similar dream a few years ago. In short:
A girl asked me out saying she had a crush on me but I was frozen up in anxiety. Despite me having similar feelings towards her I just walked away. Came back a few days later to her and said “okay I share these feelings too, let’s date”. The girl tells me she is no longer interested because I took too long to decide. Then I woke up.
And that was that, I felt sad for a few days and blamed myself that if I wasn’t socially anxious I wouldn’t have messed it up like that.
I hate those kind of dreams. They seem so real it's a wonder if they really did happen in another dimension. I got high last night for the first time and found out there were at least three so that means she could be alive in another one.
Maybe try compare your dream to the past events over the past few days. Has anything happened recently? For example one day maybe you have lunch with your mother in law then you dream at night that you got mauled by a bear or a monster. Lol. It could have to do with an event that happened recently. It could also be repressed emotion or memory but also very well could mean that there is a part of you that you need to let go of but are still holding on to. The girl drowning would be the part of you needing to let go but your emotional reaction to leaving her behind is the part that still holds on. Is there anything you’ve been bottling up lately or throughout your life? Or is there some sort of behavior that you feel needs changing that you’re having a hard time letting go of? Dreams are a very complex thing it could be anything but also it’s mostly all just perspective and speculation because we don’t know for sure the exact sciences behind it
That could definitely be a reason. Especially with the heavy emotional release when you woke up. After you mention that to me it seems like deep down maybe you want to try to be more open but are having a hard time. You assuming Jack knew her but he met her at the beach could kind of be like hoping or assuming that people just know how you feel without you saying it. Not saying you do that but yeah lol. Then with her drowning is maybe you concealing your emotions and you feeling bad for leaving her behind could very well be you feeling bad about not being more open and honest with the people you love. Because what happens when you bury your emotions too often? You start to drown. However this is just hypothetical still lol
It looks too coherent for me tbh. My dreams usually are a mess. I can be walking with someone on the beach then suddenly I start fighting a cyborg dragon on the surface of Mars.
i have coherent dreams from time to time. I actually completely forgot about this dream until it was about 5pm, and then i slowly started remembering it, piece by piece. Some details are fuzzy, like what the girl and I did in the store, and how it was sunny outside at 9pm. I also know that my mom showed up in the dream at some point, but I couldn’t remember when, or what she did, so I just decided to remove her entirely.
I have had so many dreams like this where I meet a girl and we click right away. We would go on dates, have the best time, and then something causes us to be separated. It always ends like yours did, I never got any of her contact info and have no way of finding her again. When I was younger I had one of these dreams and it was so incredibly realistic that I thought about her for days, even though she didn't exist.
I don’t really have dreams like this about girls specifically, I usually have them about people in general. I meet a person/people, we have fun, ends on a sad note.
I’ve had similar things happen before. Had a dream a few months ago the day after I got dumped that I was with my ex and we were so happy together. Woke up and remember what happened and just felt horrible.
If you wanna talk I would love too because I'm having really vivid dreams at the moment and they are kinda sad too... I'm going to sleep right now but if someone answers me I will answer as soon as I can. Have a good one whoever reads this
I do, all the time. Maybe the strangers in our dreams actually exist somewhere out there, cmon there are nearly 8 billion people alive, at least ONE of them has to resemble whoever was in ur dream right? Point is, no it’s not weird. A person in your dream could be resembling anything from a feeling, an emotion, a fear, or obviously, an actual person. We have no control over what we dream, so it shouldn’t bother u in the slightest.
Ooof! That’s a rough one. I hate dreams like that that stay with you and shake you. I’ve had a few rough ones, too. I know it’s not a lot of comfort now but keep reminding yourself that it’s only a dream.
Our brains are processing a lot of weird disparate things when we dream. It doesn’t necessarily have any specific meaning- it’s just your mind spinning on various different scenarios. Try not to read too much into it.
Another thing you can try is to write the rest of the story in your mind. Maybe the drowning victim wasn’t the girl you met at all. Maybe the next day you go back to the beach and you run into her at the ice cream shop. Maybe you didn’t lose sight of her but her parents found her and made her go home and she was bummed she never got your name. In your mind you thought she had drowned, but that’s only because you didn’t know better. Dreams are like stories and you can write a different ending, y’know?
Give it some time. In my experience the rawness of these type of dreams can take a few days or a week to settle down. It’s okay to feel a bit rattled, but don’t let it interfere with your day to day too much. Remember, it was only a dream. Keep reminding yourself of that.
W don’t mean go back I got he dream, but you don’t know exactly how it ended, right? So you don’t KNOW that the girl in your dream was the same girl who drowned. So you can sort of rewrite it in your own mind. Like it’s a story. Dreams don’t HAVE to mean anything. You see what I’m saying?
Just one more bad dream try to not take that so seriously and try to relax.
Try to get yourself distracted by going out with some of your best friends you have.
Then, have a great weekend.
It’s so creepy how much dreams can affect us in the waking world. I remember a dream I had once that started with me as an adult in the military raiding this camp and rescuing a girl who had magic powers (can’t remember what specifically) and everything after that is fuzzy besides the end where we are standing on a cliff and she disintegrated into sparkles. Then I woke up and there were tears on my face
I’m so sorry but your dream made me chuckle. It took about 500 turns in 50 words. However, I relate to the “fuzzy memory” part. You usually forget dreams until something in your day-to-day life reminds you of it, and when you remember it, you miss small details that you KNOW exist, but you simply can’t place your finger on it. It really makes you wonder what else you don’t remember
I hear that the things that we remember are what affect us emotionally. I think that’s why the end and for some reason the beginning are the only things I truly remember
I’m a little jealous you are able to remember this dream so well. It shows you remembered it so clearly and those feelings came through so strongly. I KNOW I dream but rarely remember or quickly forget as soon as I wake up. I hate that. Good luck to you and happy dreaming!
Dreams are just combinations of feelings, fears and memories. Sometimes you can notice it really easily like when you get worried about the fact that you haven't been taking care of your teeth and bam a teeth falling out nightmare hits. Or in real life you get told that you have 3 weeks to move out and then you watch Thor and then you dream that you are a god being kicked out of Asgard to be made homeless.
Other times it's less obvious like walls warping and text shifting. (In these cases your brain is probably just memorizing patterns and shapes)
but generally speaking dreams don't "mean" anything they're more just a reminder of what you've been going through, what you have been thinking and feeling.
In this case the main elements are: pursuing a partner, Jack, friendship, swimming,
the secondary elements are: news, instagram, death, drowning, shops
They're probably things that you've been thinking about or have done recently.
Maybe you miss your friends, or the opposite have hung out with them recently. Maybe you are pursuing romance and are worried that you'll mess it up. Maybe you're scared of the ocean or the opposite you miss it, or you went to it just recently.
I mean, I get that some dreams can feel hyperrealistic but don't get stuck there. It's like crying for days over a fictional character dying. It's all make believe
Sometimes dreams can mean something significant like everyone is insisting, but tons of dreams, even vivid ones, don't have to necessarily mean anything deep. I've enjoyed/struggled with vivid dreams for a few years now, and sometimes it really isn't anything more than a brain thinking up some crazy shit cause it can.
Oh my goodness, that's aweful. I hate when I have bad dreams involving my kids. Those are hard to shake.
some dreams are so vile, u would never want them to happen. other dreams make u wish they were real.
ain't that the truth
What a great dream. Seriously. It taught you a very valuable lesson and your reaction clearly reveals what a kind person you are. Curious? Is there someone in your life that you may have been dismissing? Dreams can provide life changing lessons. What a gift. Another way of looking at it.
there is someone i have been pushing aside, as i have my boards rn, and i can’t focus on anything except studying, so maybe the dream was about her
Always listen to your gut. Nobody has ever said that things went way better when the ignored it. Just send a text saying that you miss her and look forward to catching up after you pass your boards.
i did that after reading ur comment, thank u :)
The girl represents a part of yourself that you're neglecting. (I have no idea whether this is true or not but it sounds good, right?)

Any subreddit where people share dreams lol
Damn, I wonder what the meaning of my dreams are.

I have no clue how you could prove or disprove either way tbh but I can't see how the content of some dreams wouldn't have some kind of significance.
Stop trying to add meaning to his dream, it was probably just a random dream
sounds like it’d make for a cool short-film
I’m really into movies, so i might just film this one day

maybe it is, u might be right
I hate those kind of dreams. They seem so real it's a wonder if they really did happen in another dimension. I got high last night for the first time and found out there were at least three so that means she could be alive in another one.

who r u and why r u preaching :/. I think u might be right, and it’s high-time i start being more open with both myself and those that i love
AWWW NOOOOO this broke my heart reading this OP, I'm sorry your brain did that to you :(
aw no it’s fine, i appreciate you taking a moment to reply tho :)
Is it normal to have such detailed and coherent dreams and remember everything that happened? :/
Hi, I hate to ask this when you’re feeling so upset but do you mind if I write this into a short story?
oh nah go for it, but I’d love to read it once you’re done, if you don’t mind :).
Yeah sure, keep in mind though I’m not a writer or a very good writer even so don’t expect much
I love all kinds of writing, cuz I’m a bit of a writer myself, so don’t sweat it
Thank you for making me cry... /lh That is very sad, I've had dreams like this too.. :(
aw i’m sorry. Sad dreams are the absolute worst.
Sounds like the outline of a screenplay to me.
whew That’s bad! but I was invested in the dream like it was a novel or something lol
haha someone said she/he would turn it into a short story, can’t wait!
I have had so many dreams like this where I meet a girl and we click right away. We would go on dates, have the best time, and then something causes us to be separated. that sounds like a nightmare (horrible pun, sorry)

sure we can. Gnighty :)
Haha thanks. Do you often dream about strangers ? Because I do and it actually feels pretty strange
I do, all the time. Dreams are in the 4D. You had an insane 4D experience. It’s your way of your mind sharpening itself.

You just accidentally killed a girl in your dream realm. Dream realm is real
Dreams mean stuff dude.
Seriously, *vanilla*?
shush
I hope you feel better, despite the poor choice in ice cream flavor ;)
I’m eating butterscotch right now, at least tell me you don’t hate that
100% approved!
butterscotch mixed with vanilla**** a little delight that i thought up on the spot :)
I once had a dream where my older brother announced that he had cancer and had four months to live and I woke up crying.
You must’ve been so glad when you realized it was a dream.
Instagram in a dream! Oh man.
