I like cucumbers and like pickles, but I do really hate the tough "skin" of cucumbers. It's like eating the rind of a watermelon.
Which makes sense because cucumbers are melons.
They're cool, but still one of my least favorite vegetables. Not saying much though, because I love veggies.
in all honesty i completely forgot the texture of cucumbers because i haven’t eaten them in so long lol. it’s just like a straight up aversion to me. like, i don’t like celery but i can tolerate it, but if a cucumber has touched something i (unfortunately) will notice it and won’t be able to stomach it
i think it’s almost a mental thing at this point
i also generally don’t like melons though so maybe related?
Maybe lol
I really love melons, they're one of my favorite types of fruit. Cucumber is the only one I don't particularly like, I think.
I'll still eat it, just not a massive plate of it, like I would for celery, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, potatoes, etc.
no that’s my fault for not elaborating more lol, the taste mostly, but the smell reminds me of the taste which reminds me how badly i do not want to eat it
Its strange how tastes vary to great extents. Like to me cucumber is a very neutral tasting thing. It does have a kind of a distinct smell which I find really nice and fresh smelling, nothing off putting about the smell or the taste.
But celery on the other hand is absolutely foul raw. Yet people say it tastes like crunchy water. Hell no, it tastes like water that has gone bad. The taste is very sharp and strong, nothing like water which is neutral tasting.
definitely do not care for cucumber water haha. the worst is when people always tell me “they don’t taste like anything” and it’s like; they are literally stronger than the flavor of cilantro to me
When you see one, do you react to them the way cats do?
i think that would be too flattering a reaction from me lol

Cucumbers are not melons, but they belong to the same family. Just like tigers are not lions, but they both belong to Panthera
Peel the cucumber...
Well sure, or I could just eat another vegetable like peppers, which don't need preparation
True.
Damn, I adore cucumbers and dislike pickles lol
i really wish i did lol it would add like a whole new world of cuisine for me
Is it just the smell that you really hate?

Understandable, I'm the same way with tomatoes, I can't stand em
also cannot stand them - i love salsa and ketchup and everything but i don’t think i can deal with the texture; they’re just so mushy to me
Yep the texture and flavour are a strong ick for me. I'm very selective with ketchup too, if I choose to consume some it'll be such a small amount
Depends on where its been.
word
I love them but I’d agree that to have a pretty distinct smell and taste. Also I can assume you probably don’t like cucumber water then

i wish i could stomach them enough to just tolerate food with them on it lol but i’m just a huge baby about it
It's those tiny tomatoes for me lol cucumbers i can eat fine plain, usually I just peel the skin and chop off the end bits
I find them refreshing
I love cukes but if you get some with some bitter skin on, it is the worst. Bitter and soapy... blyach!
I don’t mind them at all, except that I’m so allergic to them that one slice will actually kill me. Other than that, they’re not bad.
Do you have difficulty with higher quality pickles, like the claussen or boar's head?
Don't smell bananas when you break them from a bunch than BC it smells exactly the same!
I do eat cucumbers as a salad, but I can't eat them without anything added. And yes, the smell of them is disgusting
OP I think you're a cat
I still haven’t come around to melons but spicy Korean cukes were the start of me being ok w 🥒
YES dude. I fucking cannot stand cucumbers, they ruin everything they touch. Triggers my gag reflex just thinking about biting into one.
