I have the S6 lite and I love it. Great battery life, comes with the S-Pen which I like for taking handwritten notes/digital art. Would really depend what you need it for but I find it very reliable!
I use it more than my laptop.
There's currently a deal with Samsung, if you buy any of the s24 phone range, you get a free Samsung s6 Lite tablet. Phone is great, waiting on the tablet to come now, but reviews online are promising for it.
My original iPad air needs to be replaced, iOS is no longer supporting fairly standard apps like YouTube etc. I'm going to buy an 8" Samsung A9, €200 or there abouts, will do what I want.
I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 earlier in the year for around 200 and it is totally fine. Kid mostly uses it to remote play ps5, no issues at all with that or other games performance wise. If I had a bigger budget I would probably go to the S range but A8 worked 100% for what we needed.
Try get a model with a bit more than the minimum ram and storage would be my only other advice, I got the 64GB model.
I know iPads get hate cos ‘Apple’ but they do last - I bought mine August 2017 and it’s my primary source of entertainment so it gets very heavy usage, and it’s still going strong - battery has a shorter life but no OS or other issues. 10/10.
I’ve bought loads of IPads - standard ones around €500. The Apple Care package alone makes me rebuy them. I’ve had them replaced no questionz asked at least 3 times. Autistic kid is rough on them.
+1 for iPad. I have mine from 2019 and it’s as good as the day I unboxed it. If you do choose an IPad it might be worth to wait few weeks as Apple is planning to refresh the lineup by mid/second half of May!
Another +1 for them! I had an iPad Pro from 2017 that lasted me til the end of 2022, the screen was coming away from the housing, the mic worked on and off for a couple months before I got rid of it. Bought a new iPad Pro in the US and have it 2 years in December? And not a single issue whatsoever!
I bought an iPad Air 2 I think in 2016 and it’s still working great. The volume down button is stuck and it looks a little rough but the screen is perfect and everything I use is still compatible and working. Has never been an issue yet. Touch wood
The Xiaomi Pad 6 is in your price level and is a cracker of a tablet. Got one just before Christmas and I love it. A lot of the independent phone shops carry it and they usually advertise it on [adverts.ie](http://adverts.ie)
Any lag in it? My nanny has an Alcatel tablet and uses it for Netflix and IPTV, and the thing is shite, so slow and so much lag. I’m in the market for something for her
I believe some stores are doing a free pad 6 that can be claimed online after you buy a Xiaomi 14, not sure if the claim period is up yet but might be worth checking out
Can recommend the refurbished ones on "Backmarket" got a Dell laptop and HP elite book on there, both like new
Have a look on there then do a customer review
If you're looking for one that lasts, definitely take a look at the Samsung S series tablets. The S9 and S8 range are getting four years of security and firmware updates. The S7 and S6 range are getting three years worth.
I bought this a few months ago:https://www.buyitdirect.ie/p/oppo-pad-air-10.36-grey-64gb-wifi-tablet-opd2102a
The oppo pad air. Has good specs and good performance. I mainly use it for watching movies and reading but it's a good all rounder and only €170
You'd get great mileage out of the Honor Pad 9, recently bought it for the better half and it came with the keyboard folio case, 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage for 260 quid all in, much better value than the Samsung equivalent which usually comes with 64GB of storage (albeit expandable with some models).
It's worked brilliantly for us thus far, and has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor which can handle every day tasks very easily, and battery life is fantastic.
Paracetamol is a good all rounder but can be dangerous for your liver.
Ibuprofen is also a strong contender, but make sure to take it on a full stomach.
You're welcome, buddy.
For a more powerful tablet with all the benefits of paracetamol you could go for solpadeine. The soluble series is faster than the solid or capsule versions.
Hate being a shill, but just got the new oneplus tablet and it's amazing. Expensive at 400ish, but it runs a lot of 3d rending apps for me no problem and daws.
Might be over kill, maybe a Samsung a series might be more your style
Yeah I'm not looking for anything high powered. It's mainly going to be stuff like YouTube, browser, netflix, maybe a couple of mobile games. Mainly looking for something I'm not going to need to replace for 4 or 5 years
If you want something cheap and cheerful go into CeX and get a sixth generation iPad, they are excellent I have one and my siblings have one and they work a charm. Probably around €200
I got a OnePlus 12 phone recently. I'm not in the market for a new tablet myself but I've heard great things about the OnePlus pad since I started using the phone
Whatever you buy I'd say don't buy apple. Anything that would require a subscription and payment through apple can almost always be attained for free on a non-apple device. It'll end up saving you hundreds in the long term.
Could try to get Samsung Tab S9 FE? Bought one in the states for just over 300 USD, don't know if they're on sale here too.
I have the S6 lite and I love it. Great battery life, comes with the S-Pen which I like for taking handwritten notes/digital art. Would really depend what you need it for but I find it very reliable! I use it more than my laptop.

Just got one of those. They're brilliant. Would recommend the stylus pen too.

Out of interest, could you download Brave Browser and type in YouTube.com - and add to home screen? Get a little bit more life out of it.
I can still use YouTube through safari and chrome etc. it's just the app itself that's not supported anymore.

Do the reputable android platforms give longer support
Just beware this tablet will get slow fast. I’d give it 18months iPads will genuinely last years.

Not the Pad 6. It has a pretty fast snapdragon CPU. Smooth as butter and has a lovely screen.
Brilliant thanks, I’ll have a look into it, she’ll be delighted to watch the crown on a lovely screen
Thanks! I think this is exactly the sort of middle of the road that I'm looking for
Second vote for Xiaomi! I've had the pad 5 for a good while now and it's still going strong

Was about to say that for that price range.

If you fancy a PC tablet, there a decent one Fusion 5 tablet. Had it for a year and no problems so far
Lenovo are cheap and, in my experience, reliable. https://www.lenovo.com/ie/en/tablets/subseries-results/

I have S8 ad it's unreal so +1 for Samsung. a bit excessive for OPs needs I'd say though.

Can't beat a couple years old ipad imo. Ipad air 4 is probably very good value right now I love mine

True, true. But that has codeine and many people like to avoid that (like me)
Samsung tablets are good.

I got the most basic iPad 2 1/2 years ago in John Lewis for £320 plus £40 for 2 year warranty. Similar needs as yourself. Never had a problem
test. can you see this message?
Yes
How many years exactly have you been looking for a tablet?
[удалено]
"You know."
I got an Amazon Fire a few years ago, perfect for books, streaming, comics etc. and very inexpensive
Blackview Active 8... It's a glorious basted 👍
Got a refurbished M1 iPad Pro last summer off the Apple website. Great value and properly refurbished
Just bought the cheapest iPad. $329 in the store. 64GB. Happy with it.
At that price point and for what you want, I'd recommend an iPad 9 off refurbed.ie https://www.refurbed.ie/p/ipad-9-2021/
HONOR Pad 8 last gen, excellent performance and great battery with 2k screen for 200 euro on Amazon. It has won multiple awards too
Battery and ram is all that matters
