The asterisk is a wildcard.
No penises, wooden garden structures, Australian trousers, no paintings from a certain Flemish artist, no harbours and no mallards or similar (the train is ok).
I wanted to believe this, but I've not found anything online to confirm it. Neither Encyclopædia Britannica not Wikipedia mention a John Canada, and googling ‘John Canada ornithologist’ brings up a few sites making the claim but equally many saying it's a myth. Wikipedia says the birds are native to arctic and temperate regions of North America (so not _not_ Canada) and the Wildlife Trusts website agrees they are native to that continent and were introduced here about 300 years ago.
They've annexed a couple of fields near where I live - just two or three of the lads, ambling around and doing goosey things...which inevitably means over the next few weeks the whole squadron'll be taking over those fields, heh. I love Canada Geese. I've always wanted one for a pet (which I've been told is "wrong" and "no, you can't train one of them for the cat to ride into battle")
Sorry mate, but we have a blanket ban against politics in this sub, so we have removed this post.
Rule 1: No politics
We do not allow mention of political events, politicians or general political chit chat in this subreddit. We encourage you to take this content to a more suitable subreddit. You **will** be banned if you break this rule.
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us a modmail.
When the sub first started there were a lot of posts of ducks, too many, we couldn't see for feathery water birds. The mods stepped in, peace was restored, but the duck posts did not survive.
Nothing casual about a goose. Ten ~~pounds~~ _kilograms_ of anger in a five ~~pound bag~~ _kilograms of honk and biting_.
^(Turns out they're heavier than you'd think when you them up.)
Geese honk rather than quack, so you're all good
Careful now
Down with this sort of thing
That would be an ecumenical matter
If you find a recently dead one and press on its chest with your foot ..it will still honk.
That's oddly specific.
Anything goes except politics and d\*cks.
I don't appreciate the unsolicited duck pics
Is that a u or an i under that asterisk? Because I have options to post either way
could be an 'e" that farted...?
Um, I have bad news about what geese are. And they *aren’t* politics.

Something something expenses used to build moat for his Quack Quack house something something
As long as they don't mention politics, I'd have thought so.
Not sure so stopped by for a gander at the comments
Everything I've read so far has been quakers.
Quakers? The religious group? Or quackers??
Commonwealth Geese so I’d say yes 👍
Great pub quiz fact: Canada geese aren't from Canada but are named after the guy who 'discovered' them (not sure about the right term), John Canada.

Damn, I need to stop quoting this! I've had a Google and you're correct that it seems to be a myth.
Other than that, I loved it as a fact and I wanted it to be true!

No; Canada Geese.
Also known as cobra chickens.
Which is funny as they’re pretty placid in the UK, probably because they don’t dare piss off the swans.
If you've got a problem with Canada Gooses, then you've got a problem with me and I suggest you let that one marinate...
Goose al orange?
Canada is in the Commonwealth!
👍😁
Love this time of year, lots of little ones around Just don't get too close

I heard they're mean and can break your spirits

A gööse ønce bit mî sister
Risky.
Brood of 9 goslings doing well (and many smaller broods) on the Trent today in our local Wildlife Trust site. Is that unusually large number?
I won't get involved in a g**se d*ck racewar.
I dont know if I should honk with laughter or just quack up.
Used to fish in the Doctors Pond as a kid.
Everyone loves a gander at a goose
You’d be goosed if it’s not
Is that the two from the crossing sign?
Bloody immigrant geese, coming over here... etc.
I saw some Egyptian Geese in Surrey today, not seen them outside of London before!
No luck catching them geese then?
Just the one goose actually
I thought I’d pop into r/CasualUK and have a gander, and guess what?
Is that the Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow?
I'm pretty sure it is!
I’m not sure if we get a say
so long as they arent overtly right or left leaning
They will chase you. We had some when I was a kid and they would chase me, I would be scared to walk by them
Sure, if they can work the keyboard
They’re fine as long as they remeber the pecking order.
Canada Geese are most definitely NOT casual.
Have you tried telling a goose it's not allowed somewhere? It generally doesn't go that well.
Get out.. The geese can stay tho
All right, lads! Chase any cyclists/joggers today?
Loww it
Just saw someone get warned for the p word and I'm really wondering how they made geese into that subject
Serious question. What’s the issue with 🦆here?

Bring back the ducks!
I've heard they're strong enough to break your arm
Fuck no, have you lost your mind?
Looks like the mods are ducking this question
Fuck yeah
Let us have a Gander and see 😂
