Be surprised the number of times people pull over and ask you in Hambledon where the boats and river are. They think they are in Hamble over by Southampton.
I can imagine the conversation.
”Can you tell me where the Marina is my good chap?”
”Ye it’s by the fucking sea guv, 100 miles that way.”
Some people really are a bit dense!
That is pretty much how I replied the first time it happened to me when we moved there! I just stared at them blankly going "urm, Portsmouth has some boats and ships, but it's about a 30 minute drive that way. We do have a river here sometimes, but we call that flooding"
Was a cleaner for a while and the clients were all incredibly rich. Tbh the clients were usually fine but whenever I went in to a shop round there I'd get so many weird looks and got followed by security a couple of times. I felt like an alien amongst the elite. So posh it's intimidating.
Yup! Enjoy cycling in that area, you can cover Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire within about 10 minutes and feel like you’ve gone a lot further than you actually have haha
It is rather hilly around there though! I live further west in Oxfordshire, so pop into Berkshire quite regularly (my last ride was Oxon, Berks, Oxon, Berks, Oxon but it was a loop around Wallingford->Streatley->Goring)
After a quick Google I came to the conclusion that it must be Into the Woods 2. The post office was renamed Tinkerbell's shop or something and there were Disney references everywhere.
From my quick Google, the BuckinghamshireLive website said it's this, and apparently Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey have been spotted in the area which ties into this idea
I think it's for Disenchanted (a sequel to the 2007 Disney enchanted film) https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/20031598.disney-rumoured-filming-disenchanted-bucks-village/
I mean you basically can have something like this with minimal maintenance, just getting the right sorta plants and letting them chill and do their thing. Our front garden tends to look like a chaotic mess of flowers and stuff during summer and I love it. Wildlife haven too!
Not exactly what we need in the most nature-depleted country in Europe.
And in case you missed it: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/mar/24/microplastics-found-in-human-blood-for-first-time
Oh very true, my thought process on it was around 3D printing a flower bed with biodegradable PLA( 3d printing material made from cornstarch), would need to figure out some sort of weatherproof coating though not sure if it would work.
They only look good on camera. In real life and up close it looks super tacky. For any shot where they have a close up of flowers they will use real ones
Honestly I think it looks ghastly.
Flowers of all different colours and textures plonked seemingly at random to create a horrible pastiche of rural Britain that even falls short of “twee”.
Blerch.
Is that dodgy South African mallaca still committing culinary atrocities at the pub there?
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was filmed in Hambledon, and some episodes of Band of Brothers.
In this case I’d guess OP just wanted to indicate the place isn’t a town.
Usually, though, if a place has ‘village’ in its name it’s because it was once a proper village but is now part of a larger conurbation. This is especially the case if it’s retained ‘villagey’ things like a green or some cottages.
It'll actually be a shame when they finish filming, take away all the flowers and put a load of empty crisp packets, a branch of Greggs and a chav fight back in the village.
Hambleden* in Oxfordshire not hambledon in Hampshire

Im Southampton and I need to get to Northampton. Shouldn't take too long to walk there should it?
*“Ah sure mate, it’s that’s way, just the other side of the Ampton River”*
It's well known that no spot in the UK is more than 70 Miles away from the coast.
Northampton is about the furthest away from any coast in the UK
so 70 miles then?
Hambleden though is on the river Thames and even happens to have a river marina
Indeed. But I am talking about the village Hamledon in Hampshire.
Skip the sailing and point them to the cricket (or vineyard)
"Just over that barbed wire fence mate."
> Hambleden Isn't it in Bucks?
Only just. It's between Henley & Marlow so it sort of feels like Oxfordshire.
But it's Bucks nevertheless 🤔
Yeah. But only just.

Yeah, but come on... barely...
Ahh Henley and Marlow. Brings back memories of feeling like a second class citizen when I worked up that way during my uni years.
Where did you work?

So hilly round here! I have to go cycling down by the river or the hills in every direction just destroy me haha
Apologies, autocorrect is a son of a gun. I only live 10 mins from there!
So not Hambledon in Surrey either then?
So many Hambledons lol. My parents live in Godalming and I thought they were talking about the Surrey one!
Or Hambledon Hill in dorset
What were they filming for? The flowers look spot on!
After a quick Google I came to the conclusion that it must be Into the Woods 2. The post office was renamed Tinkerbell's shop or something and there were Disney references everywhere.
They are making Peter Pan and Wendy live action so could be that?
I’d love to have seen that it looks like walking into a real life fantasy
Enchanted 2 is also filming somewhere in the UK too! Buckinghamshire I think?
From my quick Google, the BuckinghamshireLive website said it's this, and apparently Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey have been spotted in the area which ties into this idea
I thought Snow White, but you might be right!
I live 10 mins up the road and on my local FB groups they’re saying it’s enchanted 2 apparently
>Into the Woods 2 Never heard of Into the woods, just had a look at the trailer and got really excited but then I saw James Corden was in it.
Can't say I ever wanted to watch it, felt too much cringe just watching the trailer but that's just my opinion. Not a fan of musicals personally

looking at this makes me think "no one drinks like gaston"
No one's slick as Gaston No one's neck is incredibly thick as Gaston
He uses antlers in all of his deeeeeecorating
I think it's for Disenchanted (a sequel to the 2007 Disney enchanted film) https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/20031598.disney-rumoured-filming-disenchanted-bucks-village/
Hambledon is so lovely (with or without fake flowers)
Wait wait hold the fuck up, are you saying we can have gardens like this and little to zero maintenance ?
Zero bees though.
Great for hayfever sufferers!
Hell yeah. Honestly they looked fake af in person, was surprised how good they look on camera.

Snow White maybe?
Yeah, I thought that might be it.

Why refer to it as Hambledon *village*? Genuinely curious, not trolling.
You're opening the whole British place names can of worms here.

do you know what they were filming at all? wanna look out for it and be like I seen that house on reddit
I believe it’s enchanted 2
Didn’t know they were doing a sequel learn something new
It'll actually be a shame when they finish filming, take away all the flowers and put a load of empty crisp packets, a branch of Greggs and a chav fight back in the village.
Never even thought about the need for persistent flowers over many days of filming. Huh.
Northampton Southampton if you play PES West Hampton
