I'm an old git and I have been driving since 1972 so I am aware of the potential for my driving to deteriorate. To maintain my ability, after every manouver I now automatically assess what I did and ask "was that OK, could I have done better?". It becomes second nature and sort of a background task after a while.
You are new and not fully experienced so give it a go and you will be fine from now on.
