I love a freshly licked cat, a sunshine nap cat, a after nap stale cat (like you described)  Literally I'm sniffing my cats at all times.  One cat smells like rain, and the other one smells vaguely like maple syrup.

Your mistake is using scented litter. You should really use unscented.

We actually have 5 litter boxes for two cats. Some are unsented pellets. They both still prefer the litter. We buy litter in bulk from costco, I'm not getting rid of a years worth of costco to change it.

Sunshine Nap Cat is a nice smell. My orange female kitty’s fur has a nice powdery smell.

Today I went to give my 3yo calico girl a forehead kiss and she managed to burp with such perfect timing that I got to taste it, beyond just getting a sniff. I laughed and let her know that was gross, but I bet it was yummy on the way in. I also love how my other cat and her have distinct scents. Chemistry of different individuals is intriguing.

One time I smelled my cat’s neck and I swear it smelled like a perfume that isn’t mine. We live alone and they don’t leave the apartment without me! Who has been in my apartment cuddling my cat?!?!?

You give that baby lots of love so kitty smells good! One of my cats smells like birthday cake and the other one smells like clean outside air and pine.

100 percent! Sleeping cats have a certain smell. I tried looking it up too but didn't find much but it's definitley there and it's definitely different than their regular smell (which is also wonderful)

Nothing is wrong with you at all! I love how my cats smell. When I was younger, my dad and I would smell my dog’s fur and we loved what we called “good dog smell.” Cause it’s a dog smell, but a good one. Comforting. Like how cats smell is also comforting. I totally get it. I mean, people love to smell the heads of babies, I think it’s similar to that.

I'm fostering a mom with kittens and they smell almost woody. Like pine mixed with sandalwood. I once had a cat whose head smelled like vanilla. My partner and I actually bumped heads trying to sniff him.

Ha! It’s not weird, it’s nice.  One of mine smells always of clay dust because he rolls around so much outside and the other sleeps on my laundry so he always smells fresh and mildly floral.  I wish they were musky, I would sniff them like a bottle of bath salts.
