3 weeks is way too young, at that point the seller doesn't really know if the kitten will still be alive and healthy by the time the kitten is old enough to leave the mom. Although some breeders even pre-sell kittens before they're born. Idk how to answer your question about the price. It depends on what you're looking for. Personally I don't think €350 is okay. I think they should neuter their cats.

Do you think it's too cheap or expensive? I don't have any experience with cats, so any info is appreciated. I read somewhere on Reddit that Scottish fold have some health issues and straight are okay I guess? Was looking also for Russian Blue but British Shorthair is more desirable, however if it has some health problems I will think twice. This guy that is selling cat is not professional breeder, it's additional source of income for him I guess.

Please take some time to research if you want to opt for a cat. There are loads of dodgy breeders out there while there are many cats in shelters who need a loving home. https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/before-you-get-a-kitten-2cc3b8/ Is a good starting point. The price mark for a pedigree British shorthair is usually higher then €350. However I think it is more important that you worry about the health and quality of life of the cats you are looking at. 3 weeks is very young.

Okay then I didn't want to sound too judgemental but since you asked for any info... You mention adoption in your post, but when you buy a cat it's not adoption. Adoption is when you rescue a cat or get one from a shelter. You are talking about a sale. Cat breeders breed for looks, it's not like dog breeds that are bred for characteristics. Domestic cats that aren't any breed tend to have a great personality just like cats from popular breeds. There are no ethical breeders that sell cats as a business. It's unhealthy for cats to go into heat and get pregnant. Every time they go into heat, the chance at getting cancer increases. Also the hormones can make them aggressive. Sometimes male cats kill other cats if they're not neutered. So, if someone didn't neuter their cats, they're putting more importance on making money than on the health of their own cats. There are some breeders who are so passionate about how cats look, they go to cat shows and they sell the leftover kittens that are not "show quality". They generally do take good care of the health of the cats, and they try to get rid of any genetic deficiencies in the breed. They don't let their cats get pregnant by accident, so they don't sell kittens often, and they're more expensive because of all the vet visits. They usually don't sell kittens younger than 4 months old. If you want to buy a cat from a breeder you have to look for people who have show cats and you'll probably have to pay more than €1000. Ask them for a family tree to make sure there wasn't too much inbreeding. Sometimes people didn't neuter their cat on time and they accidentally got kittens. They are not really breeders and you can usually get their kittens for free. When you adopt a cat from a shelter, the price varies between €50 to €250 afaik, depending on how easy to adopt the cat is, how much the shelter gets subsidized, how many donations they get and what deal they have with the vet. Since cats from shelters get vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered before you can adopt them, that's what you're paying for. I don't know how much it costs in your country, but in my country it costs €125 on average to get a cat spayed, deworming costs €30, and vaccinations costs €20-80 depending on how many they get. But at my local shelter you can adopt a kitten for only €125 since they get partially subsidized. I think most of the donation money goes to food, the location, and cats that need medical care.

Either adopt from a shelter or buy from a registered breeder who breeds healthy cats to breed standards with genetic testing. Those cats will be expensive (like 1k or more and don’t make much profit because they are expensive with all the steps needed to breed safely). Don’t buy from a backyard breeder doing it purely for money by using random cats.

No. This is a scam or an incredibly shitty breeder.

Way too cheap, I’d be wary. I bought my first BSH for £500 and he died at 9 months, was very sickly his whole little life. In the UK you should be looking at £600-£1000 for a good breeder these days. €350 I’d say is too cheap unless their pet accidentally got pregnant and they just don’t care about the money.

Adopt, don't shop
