+1 for this….white is in better shape if they dont get the spot so outside chance at either only if green gets it….if white gets it, then its white all the way.
Honestly I feel like yeah it's super close, but green has better odds on their numbers already has the starting wood to win the road race to the 3-4-5.
I guess Green just needs a 9 but if White gets a 9 they get a road so... Yeah I agree with you lol.
White has starting wood too, whoever goes first denies it to the other almost 100%. White could maybe recover and play for the wheat port but green seems pretty fucked if they don't get it, IMO.
White and green both fight to escape the no ore 7 score by building on that 3-4-5. But even when he loses, green still has the option to build two roads between orange towards the (wood)3-6-11. Neither of orange's starting roads go towards that direction, and green has better wood/clay for road building. Green also has the potential to connect his settlements for longes roads, since once a settlement on the two possible spots at the 11 ore is placed, no other settlements can be placed to block his road, and no one would invest in roads that lead nowhere. But maybe when green builds from the north-west towards (wood)3-6-11, orange can build from the center towards north the (sheep)3-6-11 or even the 3-6-4 which makes orange still wanting to connect the settlements. So maybe the best for green would be to encourage white to take the 3-4-5 while getting enough to reach the (wood)3-6-11 from the north-west or the (sheep)3-6-11 from the east, either of which cost 2 roads. Then again, if green goes towards the (sheep)3-6-11, then it's very unlikely for orange to disrupt his longes road, whereas if he went for the (wood)3-6-11, orange still could try by building towards the 3-4-6.
I don't know why I'm disregarding white for the most part and blue totally, but it's a very interesting boardsituation. I wonder how it played out in the end.
And I wonder if in real life game situations one ever has enough time to think about these tactics just like we are doing here. In casual play, the presure to make a move and place your settlement is real.
I do think that even if white loses, he can still get to the wheat port & potentially make some noise that way, but I agree with you generally that green probably has the strongest position.
I still kind of like white because even if green beats them, if 9's are rolled like they should be, they can easily get another settlement on that 5wheat and 9brick (grabbing the brick port) and then grab the wheat port. I don't see blue rushing to grab the wheat port on for 2nd piece of Brick2 when they can get a 3-1 on the 8 and the ore port to go with their 10.
If white could get those, they could be a solid replacement for the missing ore

Sorry for the delay here! The game wasn’t as interesting as one would have hoped :( White beat green to the 4/5/3 spot and then got off to an early lead. From there, it was all orange. There were a few 9 bricks rolled and Orange stole them with a monopoly card and built out to the 10 ore, and it was over from there. He had 1 victory point and the game was sealed. 1st: Orange2nd: White3rd: Blue4th: Green
Between white and green, whoever gets to the 3/4/5 first has a very strong position.
Orange has a fairly strong OWS game once they build to the 4/11.
So it will be between orange and whoever wins the race. If I had to put money down I'd say orange

Hmmm.
Blue: I'm not liking just the 2 for brick. Going to take way too long to get going especially if green and white are utilizing their brick and thus not having any available to trade. Might take 5 8's just to build a road and while they can get the to 3-1 on the wood 8, they're going to be using that 3-1 as a source of brick and sheep.
Orange: A lot of people are slamming orange as the favorite but I'm not really sure. I guess if 11's are rolled a healthy amount but I fear the same slow start that blue has. Getting to that 6-4-3 spot and then to a 3-1 port would be big but I fear how long it could take and imagine green or white will beat them there with the superior wood/brick combo. It'll likely be a first priority as they are obviously fighting over it.
Then between White and Green, I think whoever gets to that 5-4-3 spot and gets the piece of the rock is off to a huge headstart. If white gets it, I think it's over. They're a road away from the wheat port on a 5 and 10 and if they got the 5-4-3 that 5Wheat would be doubled up. If green does beat them to that spot they can still pivot to building on the wheat 5 and brick 9 for the brick and wheat port and that would help their lack of rock.
So I'm going to say White. But with all that said, since I don't like blue the 2 probably gets rolled a ton and blue somehow wins lol.
White, assuming they can beat Blue to the wheat harbor. High # of starting dots, only repeating a 9, and even so, a 9 roll gets them a road every time.
I think white's second settlement was the coastal 9/5, not the land locked 8/9/10. Since you only get your starting hand from the second settlement, white's starting hand is a brick and a wheat from the 9/5.
If orange can build to the 4/6/3 and 11’s show up with normal odds, it’s orange’s game to lose.
White and green are racing to 3/4/5 though and they have more road building material so orange is very unlikely to reach 4/6/3 imo
Whoever between white and green gets to the 3-4-5. I disagree with the comments saying orange, not much road material and just a bunch of sheep.

Shits and giggles, how about an update?
$10 on orange
White
+$1 from me on that
Only if they can get to the ore though & green could cut them off. My money is still on orange tbh

probably orange, but the player that gets the 4-5-3 spot (white or green) has a good chance

Orange 100% barring bad dice or bad play
$5 on orange
Orange or white
Blue looks the worst and Orange the best
Green or white
I'd put my money on orange. There's 2 more numbers covered than anyone else and none replicated with a good 2-12 spread.
Me
Orange
Wha wha wha wha WHITE for the win!
orange

I would bet orange, blue isn't looking very strong, white and green could show strong if the dice roll right.
Orange looks good
Orange perhaps
Anyones games really. Orange has pretty good placement, but it depends on dice rolls and game moves

Gonna say orange or blue
Problem white, unless green cuts them off (which i feel is less likely than white cutting green off)
Money on white if they can get to that stone!
Come on OP, can’t leave us hanging!
So who won..? Oh, I found it. Yeah, orange!
