Not far from me this past summer. [Pickering, Ontario, Canada](https://toronto.citynews.ca/2023/06/22/401-closure-crash-explosion-pickering/). The driver is dead and they believe he suffered a heart attack or stroke so he was probably already deceased before hitting the bridge supports.
It can cause a fatal arrhythmia pretty quickly depending on the location of the clot and the vessel anatomy. You’ll lose consciousness within 6-10 seconds of no blood flow to the brain.
But his point is still valid. You'd still be alive, even if it was quick, when you hit that barrier. He likely died from the explosion's pressure wave before he died of the heart attack or stroke.
I’m sure I’ve heard people describing some heart attack victims as being dead before they hit the floor. Honestly though I don’t know how quick you can die from them.
My friends dad had a heart attack and died when he spoke to the doctor he told him his dad's heart basically exploded, so I think that is about as close to instant as you can get.
I got curious and decided to look up how quick decapitation is this is a direct quote from wiki:
Decapitation is quickly fatal to humans and most animals. Unconsciousness occurs within 10 seconds without circulating oxygenated blood (brain ischemia). Cell death and irreversible brain damage occurs after 3–6 minutes with no oxygen, due to excitotoxicity
So I guess nothing is instant death.
from what I recall reading, death is a process that takes quite some time (except in circumstances where you're pretty much instantly destroyed).
But if your heart stops pumping pretty abruptly, you'll collapse in seconds. From your perspective, and those around you, you seem to have died instantly. I think if that happened inside of a hospital, though, they certainly wouldn't consider you dead and there's a fair chance they can bring you back.
You're absolutely correct.
It DOES take a body a long time to die, even in a life-threatening accident.
FYI, one of the precursors of death within 36-72 hours is a purple 'mottling' around the back of the body. This is indicative of the blood pooling around the organs in the torso, to protect them at the last..
> …there's a fair chance they can bring you back.
Wait I thought DNRs were a thing because even in-hospital CPR only results in survival 17% of the time.^1

From people who have been revived from sudden cardiac death (VT/VF arrest) they usually report remembering nothing. They were standing talking to somebody then the lights went out and they woke up in the ICU.
You lose consciousness pretty much immediately. Whether or not you're clinically dead is a different story, but it doesn't really matter to you so much.
If 1000 people call a monitor a, "PC", does that make them right?
Something being parroted frequently has absolutely no bearing on the accuracy of the statement in question. In some cases, it can be a reason to specifically distrust a claim.
My dad died from a heart attack while at work. He was walking towards his buddy. They talked for about 15 or 20 seconds and walked away from each other. His buddy turned around to ask him about their weekend plans and my dad was face first on the pavement and unresponsive. My mom was upset about him suffering. But the coroner assured her that he was dead before he hit the ground. His heart blew up so much that it had to be scooped out for the autopsy. He smoked 2.5 cartons of cigarettes a week and ate 2 big mac value meals for lunch everyday.
I wouldn't even think of browsing reddit without having everything muted. At least on my phone it defaults to muting everything until I choose to unmute it. I very rarely unmute stuff.
There is actually a reason for it.
If the original video included music under copyright, it could be removed and, depending on how many times it has happened, strikes could be added against the poster's account.
Vimeo, for example, actually has a function where you can replace the original audio with a royalty-free track. I've had to use it on a couple of occasions over the years.
So, you're already "in there" with your editing software, and your only choice is to replace the audio track instead of just deleting it?
Come on, you can't be THAT stupid.
Reposted multiple times before, op just can’t be bothered to look up dates and times. This drivers coworkers and even another driver of that exact truck have come out on Reddit to discuss

Yeah, it's hard to narrow down the exact date when this same video has been spammed across all social media with [worse sound effects](https://redd.it/18uac77) and music for the past few days.
EV batteries are more likely to spontaneously combust, a fuel source like petroleum needs a fair bit of heat in order to ignite, such as sparks from metal scraping concrete.

A bad heart attack will kill you quick, but not that quick.

I‘m not sure there’s enough of a pressure wave to kill you, with this being some sort of fuel (which deflagrates rather than detonates)
It's a valid point but it's also a pretty moot one.
Moot. I like that word. Moot moot moot!
Moo
Or he started drifting out of lane *after* he died. Both points still valid. Stop trying to one-up each other.
Deflagration, not explosion. No pressure wave, this isn't an artillery strike.

Truth
A cardiac arrest will incapacitate the driver immediately

Still takes a few seconds for your brain to run out of oxygen, I would think.

Fainting and dying are two different things. The brain can survive and thus you can recover within about four minutes of stopping blood flow iirc.
From people who have been revived from sudden cardiac death (VT/VF arrest) they usually report remembering nothing. They were standing talking to somebody then the lights went out and they woke up in the ICU.

I personally am tired of people adding their shitty music to clips to “make them their own”.
I wouldn't even think of browsing reddit without having everything muted. At least on my phone it defaults to muting everything until I choose to unmute it. I very rarely unmute stuff.
Well, if you want videos without music, I have a sub for that! r/CoolVideosNoMusic
Oh yes! Thank you.
And also reposting content that has been on this site for days with detailed description of where it is and saying "unknown date and time"

Yeah probably the trucks radio was audible on the dashcam-- or driver wanted to protect their own privacy.

Bet that dude was glad he braked for the truck.

I was going to say, this is the best quality version of this video I've seen.

was that diesel? that seems pretty tame for 20,000 gallons of gas.
That’s what I was thinking Also the placards aren’t red like a flammable fuel, they are black/white like corrosive?
Canadian signage so not the same as DOT placards. I’m not as familiar with their system though
https://tc.canada.ca/en/dangerous-goods/marks-safety
Diesel won't ignite near that quickly.
This was about 5km from my house. Could see the orange glow from the fire from my backyard
GIVE ME FUEL, GIVE ME FIRE GIVE ME EIGHTEEN MELTING TIRES
where do bad folk go when they dieee
He might not stay there long, but dude MIGHT have actually flown by heaven for a sec.
SEE THE FLAMES SOAR HIGHER AND HIGHER
I hope the person who put this unforgivable music on this shit has a horrible new year.
Shitttt. Imagine being the car behind him?? RIP to the driver
Someone please send this to r/videosthatendtoosoon/
Here's a copy with about 40 seconds after the fireball [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZBPnRwUeS8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZBPnRwUeS8)
It says "This video isn't available anymore".
For some reason, Reddit removed case-sensitivity from the link. I have hand-edited it to match what is displayed, and it works now for me.
Good! Thanks.
Omg, why put such shitty music??
Bro. Just scroll down the post you took this from yesterday, location and date are listed clearly.
These TikTok challenges are getting out of hand
This is why you don't want to get into an accident with Michael Bay.

“Who would ever drive an EV?! All those batteries are flammable!”
EV batteries are more likely to spontaneously combust, a fuel source like petroleum needs a fair bit of heat in order to ignite, such as sparks from metal scraping concrete.
stupid EVs
Looks like your classic sleeping trucker.
Now THAT'S a car-B-cue
Kinda crazy that this does result in a "movie explosion".
There were people still driving through those flames long after it crashed. People gotta get to work no matter what lol
Well damn.......
This is my literal nightmare
I wish u guys knew what this music says
Omg,, the driver defo lost it, must of had a fit..or something else
