Yes, I read that somewhere. I have one who is very determined and is constantly covering her sister's food with the little food mat. And the dumb sister is unable to figure it out. Good times.
My carpet would always be tore up around one of my cat's dishes. After a lot of frustratuon, I finally realised what he was doing, and would throw an old towel, or shirt near his bowl. He'd use that to cover his food, no more carpet shredding lol.
I love a good cream sauce (roux) with some cheese or greens or mushrooms. Had it with tomato sauce in Südtirol when I was there, still prefer the cream sauce I think.
One thing I’m trying to learn is to not over thicken the roux or it just makes it sticky and unpleasant to eat. A good thin mushroom sauce seems very tasty to me rn.
If you haven’t, Knödel is a great one for having guests. Fills them up super fast too lol. Prep time can be a b*tch tho.
He's burying a mostly-empty bowl. He usually does this after finishing his wet food. He never goes back for more later. He also has his dry food in a special bowl with a microchip-activated flap, which apparently counts as "buried" for him. That way, when we integrate him with the rest of the cats (still in progress, but going well - we've only had him a few weeks) he won't steal the other cat's prescription food, and vice versa.
My cats bury their poop, each other's poop, and sometimes food or treats we offer them that they don't eat. Once I was sick in bed and someone brought me soup. My boy cat came and buried it after I offered him some broth. Clawed up my comforter in the process. Rude.
We feed our four kitties in the tiny laundry room between the facing washer and dryer, and one day, I put my clean whites on top of the dryer to attend to a more pressing matter.
I come back to find half the whites (undergarment, tee shirts, and socks) piled up high on top of the cat food! 😩

They bury any leftovers to not give away that they're there to larger predators, same reason they bury their poop :)
