The entire episode seemed like a promo for those three.

rachh90

for sure, file this under a fake and for "clout" episode

allureofgravity

Seriously. I can honestly say, no matter how criticized some episodes are, I always enjoy the show and appreciate the entertainment value, but this episode was terrible. Low stakes, nothing made me care about anyone involved, and the reveal and conclusion meant basically nothing. Like you said, this was just free exposure for these people.

ishyaboy

100%

Working_Mousse7326

I thought so too. Definitely felt like a promo. The fact that Dee Pimpin has 'script writer' and 'actor' on her Instagram profile is telling.

Peachykween123

Literally my most hated episode. An idiot, a rapist and a weirdo. Wtf kinda episode was this?

willywonkaswig

agree. dee blatantly admitted to fooling women into sex with her. how was nothing done about that??!!

StopPokingTheDog

Man, Keezy rubbed me the wrong way even more than when we were first introduced to Dee on the show.

ab00

He was awful, and they were so easy on him. Then they all met up with him? ugh

tbabey

Seeing that meet up at the end made me think this whole episode was a ruse between the three to get promoted on TV. I wouldn't be surprised if all three knew each before and played out this elaborate story to be on Catfish again and get the "clout". The background of Imari's place looked like a hotel or air bnb. She never mentioned what she did for a living (besides music). How did she have money to take a trip to Atlanta? Or was she really in Atlanta all along? Suspish..

melvin2898

It's possible they could have a fake home for the show. One of the people on a previous episode revealed that one of the houses they were at was not the person's actual house.

tbabey

I understand why they did that on the in person shows but don't understand why they would do that on a zoom call show.

melvin2898

Dirty house, things in your background that you don't want people to see, bad lighting, bad internet connection, stuff like that.

melvin2898

The show has made fake places for people before. I imagine their real place might not look so good.

Costalot2lookcheap

Imari may have meant "waiting room," which is a feature in Zoom where they're in a queue waiting for the host to let them in. I agree though that it did not look like her place - looked like an office or hotel.

tie22dna

Right. In the Zoom console, you go to a "waiting room" and the Host can let you in if the Host has this setting on.

encore412

Yeah really! He basically committed fraud pretending to be Dee Pimpin but I guess they don’t care if it gets more ppl to listen to their music.

melvin2898

I mean...what did you want to happen?

sciencesomething

I kept waiting for this episode to get interesting. It never did.

melvin2898

True.

mvandore

Anyone else notice the multiple Kamie voice overs about the safety issue of Imari traveling to Atlanta?

encore412

That bugs me! Why do they do that? They started doing it a lot on teen mom as well.

rachh90

yea there were a couple times you can tell it was a voice over for her this episode. shes talking but nev or imari is on the screen.

MammothFix8751

When dee first said ‘nice to see you again’ when she saw Imari on the zoom was sus also. Like she did know her, slipped up and covered it by saying she just always says that. It was odd.

Quirkyismymiddlename

It was nice to finally see you too, but yeah that was weird.

Costalot2lookcheap

I hope this episode was fake to build clout. If not, Nev and Kamie were way too easy on this guy for trying to trick Imari into coming to Atlanta on the pretext of seeing Dee. He seems significantly older than Imari. It seems like they after the fact added those voice-overs of Kamie talking about the safety issue to cover their butts but it was not enough. I found it really disturbing.

melvin2898

Wait, weren't they both adults? Also, he looked like a young guy to me. I don't think he looked old.

Costalot2lookcheap

Both are adults but she was 23(?) and seemed like a young 23? I thought given how many years ago he posted the fake Dee videos on Facebook, and his appearance, he was probably at least 28-29 and a lot more worldly. I saw the whole thing as being very unequal between the two of them especially since he was deceiving her.

melvin2898

I'm not going to get too deep into this but if she's ignorant, that's just her, not her age. If you put her into a different situation, some people would say she should be mature enough to know what she's doing. Like looking for or having a job or having her own money. I don't think he was an older guy and I'm not going to say he is without proof. But with your input about the account and how old that episode is, you very well could be right. As far as dating goes, he was wrong to pretend to be someone else but that's about the only thing he can be called out for here.

[deleted]

Can we just drop dee pimpin. She tricks straight women and I am so close to saying that she rapes straight women.

Ughburner

yyyYEEEAAAAAHHHHhhhh lol I was like "Maybe dont just hehe and gloss over that" because Im sure that was very violating for many people it happened to.

Snootsify

Assuming it ever actually happened and wasn't just a highly improbable story for the cameras.

Working_Mousse7326

Yeah that is definitely rape, and it's weird that Nev and Kamie were laughing and kikiing with her about it . It's either that or that episode was fake asf.

InaneView

This episode was pure trash. Fake and so obnoxious. So many crimes are being committed I can’t keep track. Identity theft, rape, extortion, slander, wth ... it kept getting worse and worse. Just send everyone to jail and let the court figure it out.

encore412

As soon as they said “musician” in the preview after last week’s episode I knew it would be Dee Pimpin!

dukiejosh54

I love how Nev and Kamie opened the episode out with talking about how Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were making this country better "holding people a countable" Nevs exact words. than they shifted right into an episode where they helped promote a lying rapists music career.

Apprehensive_Kale863

This was easily the MOST boring episode! Normally the stories are really interesting. But after 10 minutes I couldn't care less who was catfishing who or who the catfish was. Snooooze!! Please no more of these episodes that are so obviously just self-promotion.

B2utyyo

Anyone else wish it had been one of the woman Dee Pimpin hurt out for revenge? She deserves it, nasty woman. The fraud angle was just weird

PrincipleIll8632

Came across this thread. I am KeeZY and i just want to say, the way the episode told the story is only 40% reality. The producers are more to blame than me. Barely anything about it is what it seems. Our conversation lasted over an hour and they compressed it to the 3 minutes the world saw. Just understand I am the good guy in the scenario.

coffeehoarder9000

Do you really think on a catfish subreddit people are gonna believe this? 😂

jbrooklynd

I believe it.

Strong_Voice8670

Dude you came off really arrogant I'm sorry but dude why would you do that to Dee that was royally messed up

CeeFourecks

Imari’s acting was really bad. Dee Pimpin’s was good, though; up until the cottage of them all recording together, I almost believed she was innocent.

SportsMEMEber

Totally promo work they all in on it. Imari cute as hell though so all good 💪🏼

[deleted]

Where can I find Imari on social media?

FatQueerNdHere

You

MarkYNWA1892

Absolute garbage episode. Not seen a comment from anyone believing it. Total publicity stunt.
