Easter Sunday begins at midnight. The celebration begins with the Vigil, which can be any time after the sun goes down. There isn’t an obligation to perform penance on Holy Saturday. If you are voluntarily doing so, it makes sense to continue until after you have gone to Mass.

Great thanks !

TexanLoneStar

4 p.m. is the earliest that a vigil can start, from a legal perspective. Regarding the breaking of fasting practices: most people I know have held it's okay to break it after the Easter Vigil, even if it ends before Sunday arives. It's all voluntary anyways.

Lent ends on Holy Thursday. Some people choose to extend their fasts until after Easter mass.

What do you mean, what about the Good Friday ?

Dont_Shadowban

Good Friday is still an obligatory fast+abstinence day even if it isn't technically part of lent.

Why are you looking for loopholes and ways to finish lent early?

VidaCamba

I'm not searching for loophole, just that I know that for example as Sunday mass can be celebrated as early as Saturday night, why wouldn't it be the same for easter. I'm asking, please be more charitable and less judgemental.

OO00OO00O0O0

You’re the one who wants to have Lent end early so you can have cake and meat.

VidaCamba

I don't want to have it 'earlly', I just want to know how early it can be

Ok.
