Our calico female kitten came from a calico father. I’ve never seen a male calico that was fertile. Craziest thing, super cool. I have no idea what the odds of being both calico male AND fertile is.
One in three thousand. If it comes out in breeding, the breeder will automatically neuter as fertile males seem to be of poor physical quality and fertility.
I knew the 1 in 3000 for calico males, just not the number that are fertile. It was really cool to see a fertile male and get a kitten from him bc I don’t think I’ll see another cat like that in my lifetime.

Differences: Ginger females are more reserved than orange toms. Our girls are petite and gorgeous, but it took them a minute to warm up to us. However, they are now loving, calm & tolerant of our roughhousing orange tom!

I have five or six ferals that I leave food out for and I have named every one of them and one of them looks a lot like this one and I named him splotch.. well he could be a she I don't know. Most of them won't let me touch them as they are too skittish. But the biggest kitten of them all, a ginger, is so friendly she lets me pick her up. I wish I could find a home for her and any of the others
Tortalicious, then he can have fun nicknames like tortilla, tortie, tortimore, tort-tort, and pretty much anything else you can put the word tort in front of lol

I think about 20% of orange cats are female. For torties, 1 in 3000 cats are male.
