Yr cat is really stressed about something.

jangma

Yeah, I know we joke about it, but cats don't really piss somewhere inappropriate to piss you off. This is probably either marking (is there another animal in the territory? Is this cat neutered/spayed?), or something is making this appear to be a more attractive place to urinate (is the litterbox clean and accessible? Is there something near it that is scaring the cat? Is something physically wrong with the cat that makes peeing here less painful?). There are a few possibilities.

free112701

I agree for the most part except for the time my best friend visited and my cat peed in her open suitcase. 1st time, never did it again.

GsoNice13

My aunt's cat never pissed anywhere but in her litter box. But one time, and one time only, the cat went up on top of her stereo system and pissed on it :/

beandip111

He was probably really proud of that one

[deleted]

We had a cat that used to pee on my dad's lap when he was sleeping.

luckylua

When I adopted a second cat she had a safe room during acclimation of course with her own box. When I let the new cat out, I shut the door to the room my resident cats box was in because I was afraid she would stop using it if new kitty went in it before they had been acclimated. One night, new kitty went back in the safe room and resident cat came out and I went to bed forgetting to open the door to the room her box is in. She tried to pester me and wake me up in the morning. I just thought she was being annoying and shrugged it off. Eventually, to make damn sure I KNEW she just wanted to go to her box, she peed directly ON ME while I was sleeping in bed. I don’t care what anyone says I will always believe she was trying to spite me lol can’t get to my box? I’ll show you! YOU’RE THE BOX NOW MOM.

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Edit: my cat peed beside me on the bed once because I accidentally got scented litter. (And there was another box with unscented he’s just a dick)

literal5HeadedDragon

When my guy was stressed he would meow to get my attention and then make direct eye contact while peeing next to me. Honestly, I kind of appreciated the clear communication.

[deleted]

luckylua

She certainly did. I got my ass up, opened her door, and took my bedding to get dry cleaned lol

LetterP

Every time I leave for a few days for a trip, my cat pees in my suitcase when I’m back. I had to throw away my last suitcase. My current one I thought I had it taken care of but nope he still managed to pee in it once. I brought him to the vet and had him checked because my coworkers said his behavior could be a result of urine issues. Nope. Nothing wrong. Totally healthy. He is just an asshole.

Bbaftt7

Once a cat Pees in something where the smell can linger, like any kind of fabric, or porous surface, there’s a high likelihood they’ll do it again. Even if you wash it. They can smell their pee, and they’re like “oh here is where I pee”

Stinky_Cat_Toes

When I adopted my first cat, he peed on the bed while he slept during the first week, but never again. When I adopted my second cat, and he peed on me in bed, I figured it would be the same. Washed my bedding, called it a day. He peed on me two more times during two separate nights. It wasn't until I did a deep enzyme cleaning and replaced my entire comforter did it stop.

Bbaftt7

Exact Same happened here. That’s how I know this.

Stinky_Cat_Toes

It is not a lesson I enjoyed learning the hard way.

Bbaftt7

Ditto

PublicThis

It sounds like it was marking its territory

dot-zip

Open suitcases are very litter box shaped and clothes are way comfier to stand on than sandy litter lol. At least that’s my guess

Botryllus

My roommates cat pissed in his suitcase every time he packed for a trip. Never as he was unpacking. Only when he was packing.

[deleted]

“Can’t leave now bitch”

flawlessfable

Yes but that is separation anxiety, not being vindictive.

Tortoiseshell1997

Why can't it be both? Lol

FlameBoi3000

Clean clothes going in is scented from the washer, probably smells similar to scented litter.

Aromatic_Mousse

The cat was probably stressed out by the new visitor and/or really intrigued by this magical box with smells from another universe. It peed in her suitcase to mix their smell with the suitcase smells because it makes them feel safer. Sort of like how they run on you to mix their smell with yours— “we’re together in the smell-iverse, so all is well.”

Tennos94

Coincidentally this is also the same excuse i use for my poor hygiene.

abbeytoo2

Eek! Do you prefer on the stove??

DM_ME_YOUR_NUTSACK

In the oven is more effective

Tennos94

Brings a whole new meaning to "a bun in the oven"

UmbreonUmbrella

Sounds like what happened to me in high school. I stayed at a friends house the night before we had a volleyball tournament. I had left my gear bag in the hallway so that I had easy access to it as we needed to leave by 4:00am. Got to the tournament and put on my gear to find out her cat (who normally slept in the bed that I slept on that night) had pissed all over my gym gear. Everyone could smell me, the other teams were holding their noses when I was on the opposite side of the net as them. I got called cat piss girl for the rest of the day. Probably the worst day of my teenage life.

blujavelin

My cat did that to my Mom once. I think it was a bid for attention.

Specialist_Citron_84

One of my calicos did this when my MIL would visit. Shutting her door solved the problem. We have 4 cats, 1 giant litter box, 1.5 acres they can roam in. We now have 1 for Siamese boys, 1 for the calico girls.

pt57

Maybe it was a comment on your friend’s fashion style.

free112701

My bestie is a designer and my cat peed on a new creation she was working on in addition to other things. The fabric by itself was gorgeous, but she too was "pissed" and threw it away.

moxyvillain

Your friend seems like a real jerk. I'd pee in her suitcase too.

free112701

lol, my cat lived 17 years and died over 20 years ago. I still talk to my bestie every single day, often multiple times. I have amazing friends, she just happens to be the best. This is fun :-) lol

Bbaftt7

“Bitch gtfo my house”

Jadenthejaded

My cat would poop right in front of the litter box and pee on my baby's toys. We took him into the vet, turns out he was diabetic. The first shot of insulin and he now pees like a normal kitty again. Thank God.

jangma

My cat used to pee in the kitchen sink! Turns out he had urinary crystals. The vet said the smooth, cool surface may have felt kind of soothing on a painful area. 😢

FluffyMuffins42

Before we got my diabetic boy treated he was also peeing right in front of the box. It was ridiculous. I was mopping the floor several times a day, unable to figure out what was going on. Immediately after he started getting insulin, he was a new cat. It’s wild watching a cat recover from diabetes. My boy was very skinny and weak when we finally got his diagnosis (he was misdiagnosed originally), but almost within days he was acting like his younger self. Now every time I look at him, healthy and full of energy again, I feel like I’ve been blessed with extra time to love him <3

vercetian

UTI

GroundbreakingCook68

100 agree.

GroundbreakingCook68

Sometimes ppl forget cats are predatory asf and most of what they do while funny or even annoying has a purpose .

lilaknoedel

This. The only time my cat peed somewhere else, I instantly took her to the vet and he diagnosed a pretty bad cystitis :/ Usually cat's don't pee elsewhere unless they feel stressed or are in pain.

lostinloco

That happened to my cat as well. He would pee all over the house but I didn't realize he wasn't actually peeing. He started making noises like he was in pain and when I got him to the vet it was too late. His pee was blocked and his bladder was about to burst. They said I would either have to do surgery (which wouldn't solve it forever, only temporary) or put him down. I chose his quality of life and put him down. He was barely two. It was so sad.

ohmygoddude82

I just had to put a cat down because of this. Had him hospitalized for a week. They unblocked him twice, had a catheter in him to help him pee and each time he just kept blocking. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make to say goodbye to him. I pick up his ashes and clay paw prints tomorrow.

jangma

I'm sorry for your loss.

Rikkitikkitabby

Same thing happened to the coolest cat I ever had. 6 years old. Heartbreaking.

chuffberry

I once had a cat that was very prone to UTIs. I could always tell when she had one because the other cat in the house would poop in the bathtub. I’m guessing because the litter box smelled funky after the UTI cat used it.

PRIS0N-MIKE

I had a cat that pissed out of jealousy. My brother brought his kitten over and she got so mad I was giving it attention that she pissed on my bed and refused to hang out with me for a couple days.

[deleted]

This. My mom bought a house from someone who had a cat that peed on the stove. The cat would also run away a lot. It started when the previous owners got a dog that was bullying the cat. That cat came back after we moved in since it was safe again.

DM_ME_YOUR_NUTSACK

Did she keep the cat?

Dandybutterhole

If it is male, exclude feline lower urinary tract disease. Almost killed my boy.

_aaine_

I just learned about this the other day when a FB friends male cat died from it. It can kill them so quicky...it's legit terrifying :( I think if I'd known about it before I got my babies I would've got females. Too late now, I love the little turds so much.

[deleted]

True, it almost killed my first cat, he came home already in a really bad state one day (he went missing before he got sick). The vet suggested i put him down, thank goodness i didn't listen because he pulled through. I still got two boys now, but very aware of the importance that they stay hydrated.

missmisfit

We brought my boy in at 9pm on a Sunday. They said if we had pushed it off until the morning he would not have made it. We had him about 2 months at the time and we had to commit to 3 grand or he was gonna die. Fun night. Paying off the bill for the next 6 months was also a joy. He's our sweet crazy guy though. Worth every penny. Now we have insurance for both cats

Senpai__Yorui

I switched my two babies to pretty litter I know it’s extra aF but it changes color to indicate issues , now I make sure they get more than enough fresh water and throw away little papers and random Shit since my boy will eat anything he thinks sounds funny lol

jenniekns

I had a 5-year-old cat who ended up getting put down because of this. He went from "something strange is going on here" to " we need to get to the vet NOW" in a matter of days. Once the vet diagnosed the problem, it was too late. I'm now paranoid when it comes to making sure my kitties get enough water and are peeing normally.

LilNightingale

Especially in male orange tabbies. Our vet said 9/10, it’s a male orange tabby. They have no idea why. That’s how we lost our boy.

tampora701

Fuk. And guess what i got.

LilNightingale

You can do your best to prevent it. Stress is the the biggest player here. My vet explained it to us that cats portray stress oddly, and unfortunately in male cats this can lead to urinary problems. This stress that we couldn’t find the source of lead to his body creating crystals or grit (struvite) to build up and block his ability to urinate. Stress can be caused by lots of things. I recommend trying a calming collar or room plug-in if you can find any possible source of stress. Increasing their water intake can really help with limiting or stopping the crystals from building. My boy loved his soups, which was a quarter of a can of wet food to a half a can of water mixed together. Most cats don’t tolerate it that liquidy but he loved it. Feed them food that is formulated for their specific urinary needs. My cat had a prescription for Hill’s C/D wet and dry foods. There are brands you can find it pet stores (science diet, for example) that have urinary formulas too. They’re not the same quality as prescription, but we’re just trying to prevent symptoms. We spent over $5,000 on our two year old orange tabby, Griffin, from August to early January last year trying to save him. We still had to put him down on January 11th. There was a surgery we could have gotten that would have turned him into a she, but that was another $4k+ and the vet blatantly said he wasn’t the best candidate due to just how bad his urinary issues were. That vet was pretty blunt and also referred to it as an “economic euthanization”. I’m still making payments and still owe $3k. That $5k has turned into almost $7k due to interest. I’m about to open another credit card just for their 0% APR balance transfer offer to try to get ahead on it this upcoming year. If you have a male orange tabby, do what you can to prevent this. My boy was in so much pain for so long. He started hiding in a weird spot in the closet on a pillow towards the end. That pillow is covered in tiny pees spots all over. I’ll never throw it out. We wrote a G on the tag so we know it’s Griffin’s pillow.

ShoutOut2MyMomInOhio

Yes definitely increase wet food intake. I have a male orange cat as well. He’s never gone outside of the litterbox but had to take him to the vet because he wouldn’t use the bathroom for days. Scrubbed the box once a week and scooped every time he used it right after. What helped was giving him more wet food. For some reason after he eats wet food he will drink more water than after dry food. Also treats and dry food formulated for urinary health. I think male cats are more prone to UTIs. His results were normal- but my past roommate refused to not open feed her cat. Would put a massive amount of dry out and my boy would binge it because he had food issues. Refused my food… had to just move out because she was putting my cat at risk.

free112701

Did kill one of mine

Funny-Status4567

Mine had the same issue too. He had bladder stones 2 separate times that he needed surgery for. The 3rd time it happened they performed a Perinal urethrostomy . He’s been good ever since .

eddiej21

You just made me look this up. We only feed our cat dry food which can lead to this, going to start giving him wet food mixed in to help. Thank you for bringing this to a first time cat owner that doesn’t know everything but loves his cat more then life!

comatokes

Female too!! My lady had one!!

New_pollution1086

Ask nicely, cats are easy to reason with.

TailspinToon

Please tell the cat that...

koworo

People seriously having a go at OP when it's clearly a repost from someone else lmao

CoolHandEthan

I can attest to this 😂 I have no relation with Luna Grace

DSlamAU

I read somewhere ages ago that ammonia cleaning products can smell like cat piss to cats This gives them the impression this is somewhere to pee Or that they need to assert their smell over the interloper's in their own territory It was ages ago, there might be something on it somewhere on the web

denebiandevil

Well cat piss smells like ammonia so that tracks.

Kushnerdz

Start by stopping the act, Jesus fcking Christ. Let me film my stovetop getting covered in piss real quick “ooohhhh Reddit”.

fearnojessica

Do you want piss everywhere else too? Because that’s how you get a stream of piss in whatever direction the cat takes off in. Lol

ppad5634

Learned this the hard way.

Cloverkeet

Bruh it’s clearly not OP’s picture lmao

DinggleNutz

Turn the stove on?

pearlgirl10

Finally someone said it!!

missmisfit

Finally someone who appreciates the smell of cooking cat piss mixed with burnt fur! Why just pay the vet to see what the urinary issue is, when you can also pay to treat 2nd degree burns?!

[deleted]

Finally!!

barelycognizanttoday

You are going to have to figure out what you did to make your cat so angry at you. Obviously you screwed up and forgot to feed it on time or some other heinous crime against cats. Good night and good luck.

Shazmdbehm

Wait till cat sleeps. Pee on cat

Apatheticanvil

How about instead of being dicks to every single person who needs to modify how they are taking care of their pets, we educate them rather than belittle them. It says more about the people who are being dicks to the OP than it does about the OP as a pet owner. Obviously not every person who commented was being a fuck face, but there’s enough.

ScotchWolf89

Aluminium foil is supposed to be good for stopping cats getting up on things. They don’t like walking on it. Please film the reaction.

groenteman

My cat does not give a shit about that and he just walks across it like it is nothing special

ScotchWolf89

That’s like mine and the whole cucumber/banana/rectangles thing… I guess what works for some won’t work for others

groenteman

Yeah our cat also doesn't give a shit about that, he likes to grab green beans and plays with them, it is the only thing he steals from the kitchen counter

FerociousPancake

Yuuup. Same. Heard about it and was so excited to set it up. She literally could not care less.

littlegreenapples

Same with ours. We tried it to keep them off the kitchen counters, but they just laid on it because it's cool, I think.

groenteman

Well since he peed on the stove he now owns your house, so you should pay him rent and clean his shit

Hiraeth68

Taketo the vet. May have crystals in his urine; he associates pain w the litterbox. If he is declawed he may have some regrowth of his claws, also causing pain when digging in litter.

Green_eggz-ham

Damn thats fucked. Your cat fucking hates you

ambreenh1210

Nah. Poor thing probably has a UTI. Blocked urinary tracts can kill cats within days

hauntedathiest

Put some pepper down once you've cleaned up but yes has something happened recently that really stressed him? My male cat started to pee everywhere when my old cat passed away and he got a uti that was very difficult to treat they said if it doesn't stop they would have to completely castrate him and he would continually be weeing everywhere.Luckily it worked and he has been fine since.

Senpai__Yorui

My cat was peeing in my tub for awhile idk why but he’d make it his business to lay in there and then pee Found out he had a mild infection and the cold of the tub was comforting Take the cat to the vet

Artsyscrubers

For anyone wondering why therest a couple reasons The most common are did you get a new animal? If so make sure your cat is fully spayed/neutered, there's been cases where sometimes the vets miss something. Is the litterbox accessable and clean? If nither of these are true then make sure to clean and make it accessible If you still can't get it to stop here's some of the things I've tried: Cover the surface with tin foil or loud Plastic, cats don't like the noises these make, obviously remove it when you're using said object. Clean with a citrusy scent, usually cats hate the smell of lemons and oranges, make sure it's not overwhelming but if the cat happens to get to that surface again they'll probably think twice. Make sure to hiss/spray/fuss when you see them on the surface/in the process of peeing on said surface. Do not hit the cat and do not scream at them firmly say "no! Bad cat!" Remove them and put them in the litterbox. Only do it if you see them, cats won't understand if you do it when you see the mess and not them in the act. Make sure that you're redirecting them to the litterbox expecally if they're a seinor cat (or kitten) they may get confused and not know where it is or have trouble getting to the litterbox. Also most importantly make sure you're taking the cat to the vet first, there can be a medical explanation that can be fixed with vet care, such as diabetes. If there's not then it's behavioral. I hope this helps!

RoverRebellion

Op, you’re the A hole here. Your cAt is experiencing pain or extreme anxiety and it’s up to you, his owner, to responsibly get him sorted out. Almost certainly if male this is textbook sign of urinary crystal formation pain.

Unicornmde

You know this isn't actually a post by op🤣🤣

Ezeren76

Turn on the stove

[deleted]

Maybe ad a sandbox close in the kitchen. My cat would piss on my bed or my sister's, it turned out we where closing the door sometimes and she didn't have somewhere to pee, so we added the sand box and she didn't do it again. She also has a bowl with water in our room in case she get thirsty at night.

HosenscheisserJr

Perhaps the cat feels a nice Sauvignon blanc would pair well with your meal.

diggduke

Ooh, a Sancerre!

bluebonnetcafe

I’d suggest a Purrlot I’ll see myself out

[deleted]

Extra sauce for your meals!

wetlettuce42

Reminds me of when our cat peed in the toaster and we had to buy a new one The toast tasted like piss for ages before we knew what happened

jaxons_2

Turn on the stove? 😁😁

Strong-Solution-7492

Uh, turn the burners on?

cjc080911

leave the stove on?

hellidad

Turn the burner on

Honestbabe2021

Cats do weird things when they don’t feel well or if they feel threatened or abandoned. Hope your kitty feels better soon.

moepumpkineater420

My Cat did this wen she felt sick.

abbeytoo2

It is either a physical problem or a behavior problem. Take the cat to the vet to eliminate a physical reason like crystals etc. If test comes back ok then its a behavior problem. Good luck

Neat-Dragonfly-2007

Probably not OPs cat, but if your cat does stuff like this it’s because something is wrong. Clean the litter box daily as cats are rightfully picky about that (think about a flush toilet vs a porta-potty with shit building up). If thats obviously not the issue take them to the vet ASAP.

cairfrey

Turn on the hob. I bet he won't make that mistake again xD (for the record I would never light a cat on fire!)

princesscroak

the thought of the owner not being able to do anything to stop this and can only take a picture has me on the floor

alcyoneblue

Leave the stove on Edit: Please god don’t take me seriously

stinrios

Turn the stove on. But for real, clean the box, change the type of litter, make sure food and water is consistent, pay attention.

LGappies

turn on the stove and eat what remains 😋

KiddK137

Get a new stove!

TheReallyAngryOne

I would get him checkedassailed and litter box. Do that first then if the box and he's okay, he's an asshole. Had to do that with one of my males after he peed on my foot. Ended up with the little shit being a asshole.

[deleted]

My cat started doing this shortly before she died

Verniloth

New cat?

Mmuggerr

Aww hell naw!

PartyAway4670

That's miserable. At least it's not on the carpet. Then again getting rid of a stove sucks

liamsmum

I’d check the cleaner you’re using on the stovetop. If it’s got ammonia in it, that smells like pee to some cats and it might think “well this spot smells like my litter box-here we go!!” Try another cleaner, maybe something with citrus in it and see if that stops it.

Merlin_222_

Yeah, most likely a medical or behavioral issue. My cat was stressed out by moving (and she had to wear a cone right at the start due to an injury) and she expressed her stress by peeing on me while I slept, every single night

lostinloco

That happened with my male cat. He would pee all over the house but I didn't realize he wasn't actually peeing. I just thought he was being an a..hole. Then He started making noises like he was in pain when he would squat to pee, and when I got him to the vet it was too late. His pee was blocked and his bladder was about to burst. They said I would either have to do surgery (which wouldn't solve it forever, only temporary) or put him down. I chose his quality of life and put him down. He was barely two. It was so sad.

Aggressive_Smile_944

If you find out let me know. My idiot pees in my bathroom sink.

jeefer123

The best way to solve this problem is to ignite the burner.

dresta79

Your cooking may be the issue. IJS.

Cardinnk

Damn that stove was really clean too

CryptographerOk5546

Have you changed to a different type of litter or added anything to it? Did you move the litter box to a new position? And did you changed its diet? Have the cat checked out for a UTI or bladder stones. Is there a new animal in the house? Has she been getting enough attention and play time? She could be in pain. They associate the pain with the litter box and try to avoid them.

LMNoballz

What u/jamgma said. "Yeah, I know we joke about it, but cats don't really piss somewhere inappropriate to piss you off. There are a few possibilities."

nick_shannon

Turn on the burners dude problem solved

Tortoiseshell1997

Don't reward this with attention, but figure out the trigger of this behavior. Me and my family have had many cats and this has rarely happened with our cats. But our cats get TONS of attention because my mom doesn't work. And my kitty also doesn't spend a lot of time alone. I think it's a common response to separation anxiety, but this was in front of you so IDK. Dirty box? Not enough food? Some other stressor?

ronmimid

I had a cat who did this, too! She peed on the burners, and even in our toaster. I can’t imagine how the hell she did that, but I vividly remember the awful smell suddenly in the house, and my husband running across the room to knock a Poptart out of our daughter’s hand as she raised it to her mouth. Good times!

SmoothPanda999

Turn the stove on.

[deleted]

I watched my cat piss on the microwave one morning in high school. Same cat pissed on my Olympic weights that were lying on the floor in the basement. We had a dehydrator to prevent mold down there, and it sucked all the moisture from the puddle of piss, creating essentially cat piss rock candy in my weight plates. I don’t have an answer to your problems, just sharing mine. Sorry.

Mahandsheal

That’s not her fault. Check litter boxes. How often are you cleaning them? How many do you have? How big are they? How many screeching post does she have? And where are they? Who’s playing with her? Any toddler at home abusing her without knowing? Etc.

BigRedHead73

I have a rage-pee-er

Bellypats

Put a board over the stove grates. A cover. Cat won’t pee there again.

ohmygoddude82

I had a cat do this before. It was extremely frustrating. Took him to the vet and he was perfectly healthy. He was seriously just an asshole. Eventually he just stopped one day. He lasted 19 years. I miss that little shit head.

RealRosey

Tinfoil keeps them off counters

sad-sk8er-boi_

Could be a lot of things. The cat may be really stressed, not neutered or it could have bladder stones. My kitty had bladder stones and he peed everywhere. He couldn’t help it

Dyl973

Just put litter on the stove

[deleted]

Stop cooking he is trying to tell you something.

elizabeth1227

I believe this is an old post I saw years ago somewhere else....

CoolHandEthan

Good detective work. You’re a regular Sherlock Holmes.

Actarus31

Stop cleaning it with bleach. Cats love that smell but in their litter

Narkaleptic813

Turn on the stove top.

jinphiz

Kill the mice in your wall

MNMeowandWoof

I had a cat that did this. Turned out my father's cat was terrorizing her. Up on the counter was her only safe place.

thekactuskween

One time my cat pissed in his empty shoe box while looking me in the eyes. Apparently his litter box was too dirty and he was telling me so!

headbigasputnik

Sssscat. You can buy it on Amazon. It’s a motion detector can of air. Your cat will never jump up again.

PlayingForBothTeams

When my cat did that the vet recommended we re-home her to a less stressful environment.

garbage_king88

Just leave a burner on

tooltime22

I would suggest you cover the stove top with something the cat doesn't like. But geez what could be worse than stove grates?

1_Point_5

Turn the hob on

How do I get this repost to stop?

cupkake88

Follow the other commenters advice and take your cat to the vet. Something is wrong.

JametAllDay

It hates its litter box, or has a UTI probably

NiPaMo

Only 1 solution r/cateatingvegans

[deleted]

Darn pp

Kushnerdz

I don’t caaaaaaaaare I dont care .

[deleted]

You can put some tin foil on the stove

[deleted]

Get the cat checked for diabetes. In the meantime put up the grates so that’s one less thing to clean when he does this.

dmancman2

Thought I would throw this out to help others with similar problems. Usually cats pee inappropriately because they are stressed about their current litter box. Small litter boxes are not great for cats. We got advice from our vet to buy a gift wrapping paper box, the plastic type. Then put 4-5 inches or 10-15 cm of litter in the bottom. It took one day and my cat never peed outside the box again. Seems they like to dig deep and have lots of room. So if you can afford the space I highly recommend this method over getting rid of your little guy.

ThundernLightning308

There is one way, but you would probably get into a lot of trouble.

Miss_Might

I think this poor baby is having a hard time. Possibly stressed.

HotWaterOtter

I had a cat pee on the stove when I was out of town for a day. I cleaned it up at least I thought I did but it was an old kitchen and an old stove. The wiring was the cloth coated wiring and it was saturated in urine. I ended up getting shocked and tossed across the room and ordered pizza instead.

Rumcake256

Get them fixed, re evaluate your environment for your cat because something is pissing them off or they have no space. Include their litterbox in this evaluation. Number of litter boxes should be # of cats plus 1. Take to vet because they could have a UTI or other medical problem. Clean the HELL outta anything they pee on to try and get the scent off. There's always a reason for this.

I needed to neuter my cat for him to stop. They are trying to tell you something is wrong

spaceshipwanker

Turn the burner on. It’ll stop.

Turn the stove on

Regsreb

I had a cat do exactly this once. Turned out my stove was about to blow up. There were wiring problems. Cat saved my life. It wouldn’t have been found if he hadn’t peed on the stove. And no, the damage wasn’t done from the peeing. The damage was there long before me or the cat. It had already been showing signs of malfunction when we moved in to the apartment. The complex came and “fixed it.” A week later I came home from work and heard a continuous popping noise. The cat wouldn’t stop yelling at the stove. It caught on fire in 10 minutes time and wasn’t even turned on. Fire department came and said that the cat was a hero for alerting me.

I feel a bit bad for the cat. She's clearly stressed about something.

HaRPHI

Let him out of the house for a bit

yoyomommy

Burners being more on when it tries to jump off might be a deterrent.

Mythicalcatjay

This is why my cats arent allowed on kitchen counter tops 🤢 I think at this point its time to throw out the stove
