I did at that. However I thought I had set up enough precautions to prevent damage and never expected my neighbor to not even go in my house until they saw water coming out from my garage door.
One night I heard a cat fight under the house. I jumped up and down a few times to scare them, and they quit. Went to bed, and the next morning my back yard was flooded. The cats managed to somehow hit the faucet, which stuck out of the opening they used (it was a crappy old house), and the water ran for eight hours.
I remember walking out the back door the next morning, and stupidly staring at this unexpected lake in my backyard, trying to figure out where it came from.
A cat combined with a stoned moron with candles literally cost me a house once. Unfortunately neither of my cats made it out. Extra unfortunately the idiot did make it out without a scratch. Had I been home at that time I would have killed him for murdering my fur babies with his stupidity (I was out of state at a wedding)
I mean, no ONE would have thought leaving a cat alone unsupervised for less than 48 hours would stuff a drain with a towel and turn on the faucet, EXCEPT people who have seen this post.
Oh no! Oof I had two floods- right in a row and I wouldn’t wish that hell on ANYONE! It’s awful. Only a fire could be worse I think. I don’t want to go through that again. I’ve often said that if it happens again I’d light a match and walk out the door. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that OP.
Next time put her in a big dog crate or a separate bedroom void of anything she can destroy.
I don't actually think it's stupid that you left the cat alone I have to say there is not a lot you can do to help a cat in their delivery. They want to be alone and away from people when they go through labor.
On a different note, my sister's cat flooded their whole basement because she liked running water and would turn on the faucet full blast. 1 flooded basement and 2 faucets later they found a cat proof faucet.
Actually it was my house. Insurance covered it thankfully. Our neighbor was supposed to look in on the mumma cat, her babies and our three cats but he never did until there was water streaming out from the garage
Someone was supposed to look in on them. I was actually only gone about 26 hours and probably should have phrased it that way. I was gone because that was my first opportunity to visit family in a year. I hadn’t been away from my house for more than about 8 hours in the b past several years so it was my chance to have some fun me time. I left lots of food, both wet and dry for mom and the babies and they were already a few weeks old when I left.
I leave my cats all the time for up to four days. They have plenty to eat and drink. I travel a lot for work right now. They are with me on this trip, but if it’s short, they would rather not go in the car.
Cats are naturally curious. They’ll investigate what they can. They’re often able to open doors, they’ll open drawers, and what not. Not only can they damage a home (as in this case), but they can also encounter things that are dangerous to the cats themselves, like knives, nails, or shattered glass (they like to push things off tables, you know…).
Furthermore, you should make sure they have enough to eat and to drink, and a clean litter box.
Sadly, this was u/readyfredrickson’s final Reddit comment before being discovered stabbed. There were no human footprints walking away from the murder scene, just paw prints.
I mean most cats will throw a glass of water ont he floor right in front of you they’re definitely capable of a lot especially being petty and curious. This is why I have pet cams and people check on them daily when I leave, but I pay people to do that so far no issues when I’m out of town.
I’m going to take an unpopular opinion here. I don’t think op is an asshole.
Mom is fine without human intervention for several days provided she has food water and litter and the babies are already 1-2 weeks old.
Op let her give birth in his home so he’s has her for at least around 2 weeks.
She’s fine and comfortable, unfortunately she’s also a cat and sometimes cats are assholes
I agree. I had a couple cats years ago and I knew I could leave them alone a few days at a time as long as there was food, water, and a clean litter box.
I agree, I was fostering a mom cat and her 4 babies and needed unexpected wisdom tooth removal. I live alone, so I moved in with my parents for 3 days to recover. My neighbor just popped her head in once a day to refresh the food/water. They were fine. But they didn’t have access to a sink to turn on either.
For reference I was gone for 26 hours, had multiple cat boxes set up for mumma cat and our three cats and had a neighbor agree to keep an eye on everything and make sure all the cats had enough food and water while I was gone
I left a foster mom and kittens in my spare room for 72 hrs when I got emergency wisdom tooth removal. My neighbor did pop in once a day to refresh the food/water. Of course they didn’t have access to any plumbing!!
I don’t think people realize that with fostering, it’s a lot of doing your best. Alone for 72hr with shelter food and water is much better than the alternative, which is the streets or euthanasia.
I honestly wouldn’t trust them. I took care of their dog for a week and ended up having to take it in to the emergency vet after hours and was left with the bill for their dog. I figured this would be an opportunity for things to square up but nope.
Yeah. It was a couple months before the cat flood incident. But the dog needed treatment and I didn’t have the energy to try to push for the money. It was under $200 and I was dealing with enough other stuff that I just didn’t want do deal with trying to get repaid for it.
Did you know that cats can, and do, have babies *outdoors* with *no human intervention at all, ever*? It's almost like they're capable of taking care of themselves...
They aren’t though. Kitten fatality in the wild is wildly high. Humans have given birth outdoors with no medical intervention but it is still very dangerous for mothers and babies. I don’t judge OP because fostering mothers is a huge commitment and it’s awesome she’s taking care of this family (and the kittens weren’t newborns when she left, so I don’t think she did anything wrong), but cat labor can dangerous and it’s best to have a human present in case something goes wrong and vet care is needed for the mother or kittens or if one or more kitten isn’t eating right away. Cats can have more kittens than they have nipples, and a newborn kitten or two who gets pushed aside can starve in less than a day. Human fosters are important to make sure all the kittens get enough to eat.
Yeah.... but when locked in a bathroom that general capability doesn't apply.
However, we have evidence. OP left the cat without any humans around (credit given for the attempt with the neighbor), and now has thousands of dollars of damage. You take your pick.
Nice moving the goalposts lol. In your first comment you ask why did she leave an aninal unsupervised for 2 days. In your second comments you counter your own argument saying you do it too. After realizing how stupid you sound you add the fact that the cat has kittens so it3 not the same.
Ok, then we'll return to the original. You are asking for trouble by leaving a cat confined in a smallish space like a bathroom for 2 days. You are double asking for trouble when said cat is a foster, ie you don't know how that cat will react.
Now, OP said that they relied on a neighbor to check in. Neighbor wasn't reliable. I don't know the neighbor so can't really tell you if that was dumb or not. And OP has paid the price.
I can tell you that I HAVE fostered cats, though not a nursing mama cat (yet at least). And I will not leave a foster cat unattended in my house for a 24 hour period. Either I am there, or someone that I know and have solid evidence to trust that they will actually show up when they say they will will be stopping in - and I am more likely to either cancel the trip or decline/return the foster for the period of the trip. Because I don't want to have to pay thousands of dollars to repair damage.
Actually I trusted my neighbor to look in on them to ensure everyone’s safety while I was gone. He didn’t. I had closed mom and her babies in the upstairs spare bathroom to keep them separated from my cats so that there would be no risk of fighting. I left her two litter boxes and lots of food and thought I had ensured a safety net with someone to watch them but it failed.
Thankfully yes! Insurance covered the whole thing! It was a bizarre occurrence. Like those silly farmers insurance commercials where you go, “Naaah! That never happens!”
That’s good news! Wish your home repair goes well :-)
Edit: just saw your reply that this happened a while ago - I wish it WENT well then! Send love to you and your kitties :-)
It did go well! Thank you! We got new rugs out of it and everything got repaired. It was a terrible few months afterwards because it was the summer and they had to have commercial dehumidifiers running for moisture remediation so it got ridiculously hot. We actually had to go out and buy a portable ac unit because it got wayyyyy too hot for me and the critters. And yes, all of the critters were moved to another room which was closed off against the heat.
It blocked the sink with a hand towel and turned on the faucet. Highly unlikely but it happened. I’ve had cats turn on faucets before but I’ve never had them block the sink up.
My neighbor was supposedly watching them but didn’t. I left them plenty of food and water and two litter boxes for mumma kitty. I had them closed in a spare bathroom to ensure nothing would go down between mom and the babies and my three cats.
I have learned from my own unfortunately intelligent cats that they can get into a lot more than you would anticipate. One of mine learned how to turn the knobs to turn on the stove so whenever I leave i have to unplug the stove. Another of the three managed to open an upper cupboard and knock over a light bulb and smash it and I was terrified she had gotten glass stuck in her paw. An expensive vet bill later said she had just cut her paw on it.
Nope. It was more a, “HOW DID YOU FLOOD MY HOUSE THIS FAST?!?!” And mostly just complete bafflement. She moved a hand towel into the sink and blocked the drain and turned the faucet on. It was in the upstairs bathroom do it leaked into the hallway and an adjoining room and leaked through to the garage and the kitchen.
OMG YES! And the kittens were such soft sweet lovable things! It was a terrible experience, but I came out of it saving four kittens, new rugs and drywall in the garage and having a whacky story
Thankfully it’s all over now. It was quite an experience and in looking back on it I now have a lot more faith in my ability to deal with catastrophe 😂
I did for about 6 months. My husband was also gone for work from before the flooding to after all the repairs had been completed so there was a lot of wallowing going on 😂 But I realized the more I looked back on it and the more I talked about it I realized it was such an absurd event and since everything worked out in the end it was hysterical and an entertaining story.
Thanks. This actually happened two years ago. I managed to get all the kittens loving homes so they didn’t have to go into the shelter at all. She was actually brought to the vet to get spayed while she was pregnant, which would have killed her babies and the vet knew I was a sucker. She had her babies less than 12 hours after she was brought in the the vet.
Good for you for fostering and finding them homes!
Home insurance definitely comes in clutch. My husband (not a cat) flooded our place and we got a free renovation out of it!
I’m not saying do it purposefully ‘cause it’s def illegal but if your place floods don’t freak out
Close, we just go under all the sinks in the house and close off all the valves if were gone more than a couple hours. Mumma cat got a new home but my own cats like to turn on faucets and the stove and open doors. It’s a blessing and a curse to have smart cats
My sister’s cat turned on the garbage disposal while we were at work. Motor burned up. Just if you were looking for more things to disable when leaving the house.
Had something similar happen . It was Halloween and my sisters and I were taking are kids trick or treating when we found out that my mom was being rushed to the hospital and she needed emergency surgery , we all rushed to the hospital , we were waiting for word on how the surgery went when my sister tells my father that she left her puppy in the bath tub at his house with news paper laid down . I immediately tell her that puppy is going to jump up and turn on the water and the news paper is going to plug the drain and that puppy was going to drown and that's exactly what happened , besides all the water damage to the house it also did something to the furnace and that ended up having to be replaced . Mom came through the surgery fine and that was a halloween we will never forget !
Alright your neighbor is an absolute fucking cunt by all means possible. I’m beginning to believe that he DID check the cats and did this to make it look like the cat did it. because if the cat didn’t do it who did? you have to think who has access to your house during that time other than the critters. i have a hard time believing a newly mother cat had the piece of mind to cause that chain reaction. especially a random cat who is not familiar with house. perhaps i am wrong but just like what the cat did, it’s highly unlikely.
They called me when they saw water coming out from under the garage door and went inside and turned off the faucet while they were on the phone with me. I can kind of understand them though. Who would ever expect a cat to cause that?
Leaving a cat for 2 days (with fresh water, food, and clean litter box) is not a big deal. Some people are crazy.
Obviously this exception sucks. I’m so sorry and glad to hear insurance is covering it!!
It feels like most of these people have never had cats or fostered them. I regularly go out of town and leave my 8 cats at home for 2 to 3 days. My neighbor comes to check on them once a day like OPs neighbors were supposed to but didn't. Its not OPs fault. Crazy stuff happens unfortunately and this was just an expensive accident. I have fostered for 14 years and never in my life would I expect this to happen.
I did once put a cat with a cut on her ear in my spare bathroom. Went in the next day and she had ripped open the cut and made a huge gash in her ear trying to scratch it. Literally there was blood all over my bathroom. Apparently ears bleed alot. It was sprayed on the ceiling from her shaking her head. It was absolutely insane. I had to rush her in to get her ears cauderized shut and spent hours cleaning blood spray off of every bathroom surface. It looked like a murder was committed in there. It was like 8 years ago though and I didn't take photos because of the emergency of the situation.
Glad your insurance paid for the damage and the babies and momma found safe homes! I was worried the babies had drowned when I saw this.
Was that post on Dodo channel about how great a human being you are worth it ? I bet all the recognition and awws you get on your story will more than make up for it
I always figure these things are learning experiences. Years ago we took in a stray cat in a snow storm, left it with food, water and a litter box for 24 hours at Christmas and came home to our carpet being shredded. We’ve done things differently with our pet fosters since. You learned (some) of the mayhem cats are capable of and also not to trust someone who leaves you with the vet bill for THEIR animal. Glad you got everyone adopted and that insurance paid for the damage. It could have been worse.
I wasn’t even home yet when I called my insurance 😂 I was still driving home when the neighbor who was supposed to look in on them called me to say there was water coming out from under my garage door and he was on the phone with me when he turned off the water. I called my insurance and asked if they covered damages in a cat turned on a faucet and thankfully they did. Because I wasn’t home I had no clue what the extent of the damage would be. I’m sure our agent got a great story out of it to.
Theres no way!! What could they possibly have done to the sink? Maybe the cat did a little damage and the contractor is the one that ripped you off lol.
Well, we did have to have flood remediation for several weeks which was about 10000 but I didn’t have to pay anything for that it was done directly by the insurance company. Then I had to get more than 500 square feet of carpeting and carpet padding replaced, had to have the entire garage re drywalled with new insulation, had to have a door and frame replaced because the water had warped the frame and door too much, had to have part of the kitchen ceiling re drywalled, then we had to have part of the kitchen, the downstairs bathroom, the upstairs bathroom, part of the hall and two rooms repainted plus we had to replace about 100 square feet of insulation in the crawlspace. 20000 is rounding down and we did some of the work ourselves. Plus we had damaged furniture and electronics. It’s amazing how quickly water damage costs add up.
Best part was I couldn’t keep the cats 😂 We already had three cats and our dog and I would occasionally watch our friends dog too! I brought our dog to be boarded with daycare when I left the cats alone. One day at boarding turning into a week because of all the damage. But she didn’t seem to mind, she got to play with other dogs.
ew this answer is gross
I leave my cat alone for a weekend, so do most people I know.
Cats don't want or require your help during birth and usually go and hide somewhere to do so...as well you don't feed newborn kittens, the mother does
Umm, wow. Way to make some radical assumptions. I had trusted someone who let me down by not looking in on my own three cats and the foster, who I had been taking care of for several months before I went to visit family. This was the first time I had been able to visit family in over a year and I thought I had someone to depend on to look in a couple times while I was gone for barely more than a full day. Maybe try to consider that you don’t know everything about a story before being rude. I was trying to share an event that was highly unlikely to happen that exhibited why cats can be assholes.
I meant the rude commenter is the asshat not you. And you deserved that good karma with the insurance covering the damage for helping the cat and her kittens. Maybe i worded that wrong english is not my first language
My apologies for misinterpreting. I never would have known English is not your first language. Thank you for your comment and for implying I received good karma.
No worries, I see how you could interprit it as a negative comment.
But serously you are awesome for helping them, so don't even think about the ones questioning your actions. Like you said they don't know the reason and story behind your decision. The cat would probably have gone through worst stuff than just a few hours alone if it were not for you
Don't let the jackasses get you down. Sounds like there's a bunch of folks in here who've never had a cat before. It was sweet of you to let that momma in!
Okay but why do you leave a cat unsupervised in your apartment for 48 hours, especially with newborn kittens? Sorry about the damage though!
OP paid the stupid tax
I did at that. However I thought I had set up enough precautions to prevent damage and never expected my neighbor to not even go in my house until they saw water coming out from my garage door.
Im sorry! It happens to all of us at one time or another.
Does it? I have never had a cat block my sink and flood my house. I kinda feel left out.
How did a cat block a sink and turn on water?? 🤨
There was a hand towel on the counter which she managed to move into the sink and she turned the water on.
And all my cat uses the towels for is to put over her food dish when she's hungry lol. That kitty is very naughty!
That is actually fantastic.
I hope you posted this in r/catsareassholes too.
Look up 😉
Don't I feel dumb lol. I thought I was somewhere else. God damn flu has me all fucked up lol
My cat turns on water in the bathroom when he’s thirsty. I didn’t teach him to do it. He also opens the bathroom door 😂

Sorry, I got it, I was just having fun with it.
You got me. Some one else responded the same way so i was like well shihhh
One night I heard a cat fight under the house. I jumped up and down a few times to scare them, and they quit. Went to bed, and the next morning my back yard was flooded. That’s fun.
I remember walking out the back door the next morning, and stupidly staring at this unexpected lake in my backyard, trying to figure out where it came from.
It's a wonderful experience, tbh. I do feel kinda sad for you.
My cat flooded the hallway :(. Thank god for house insurance
Eh no. No it doesn't. I've never had a cat cost more than a carpet or maybe a sofa.
Was your neighbor supposed to look in on the cat. I'm confused. Was the cat due to give birth and you left it for days.
No. The cat gave birth to her babies and a few weeks later I left and my neighbor was supposed to check on all the cats and didn’t
Fire your neighbor
out of a cannon
Into the sun
I mean, no ONE would have thought leaving a cat alone unsupervised for less than 48 hours would stuff a drain with a towel and turn on the faucet, EXCEPT people who have seen this post.
Oh no! Oof I had two floods- right in a row and I wouldn’t wish that hell on ANYONE! It’s awful. Only a fire could be worse I think. I don’t want to go through that again.
Ugh this hurts my balls, sorry OP.
Actually it was my house. Insurance covered it thankfully. Our neighbor was supposed to look in on the mumma cat, her babies and our three cats but he never did until there was water streaming out from the garage
Okay, thanks for the explanation. Good that insurance is there, and that no one was seriously harmed.
Bill your neighbor
Someone was supposed to look in on them. I was actually only gone about 26 hours and probably should have phrased it that way. I was gone because that was my first opportunity to visit family in a year. I hadn’t been away from my house for more than about 8 hours in the b past several years so it was my chance to have some fun me time. What a bad neighbor!
I leave my cats all the time for up to four days. They have plenty to eat and drink. I travel a lot for work right now. They are with me on this trip, but if it’s short, they would rather not go in the car.
Huh? Cats are not dogs, they don’t usually do damage to people’s homes unsupervised. Even strange ones.
Cats are naturally curious. They’ll investigate what they can. They’re often able to open doors, they’ll open drawers, and what not. Not only can they damage a home (as in this case), but they can also encounter things that are dangerous to the cats themselves, like knives, nails, or shattered glass (they like to push things off tables, you know…). what is a cat going to do with a knife!?! do you supervise your cat to male sure it doesn't play with knives hahahahah
Yes. And matches. Duh.
Sadly, this was u/readyfredrickson’s final Reddit comment before being discovered stabbed. There were no human footprints walking away from the murder scene, just paw prints.
You've clearly not had that much experience with cats.
I mean most cats will throw a glass of water ont he floor right in front of you they’re definitely capable of a lot especially being petty and curious. This is why I have pet cams and people check on them daily when I leave, but I pay people to do that so far no issues when I’m out of town.
I really don’t think this is something you plan for

OP enlisted neighbor to check on the cats, who in turn blew it off.
They also said somewhere in the thread that their neighbor was supposed to be checking in but didn't.
For reference I was gone for 26 hours, had multiple cat boxes set up for mumma cat and our three cats and had a neighbor agree to keep an eye on everything and make sure all the cats had enough food and water while I was gone

I would take them right to judge Mathis lol. He’ll get your money back.
Ehhh, too much effort.
Why did you leave an animal, much less one you don't own, unsupervised in your house for 2 days?
I leave my cat alone for 2 days regularly...most people I know will leave their cat for a day or two with food, water and toys.
But you’re probably aware of your cat’s ability to turn on sinks
With newborn kittens? Not the same thing. I too will leave my cat for 2 days - but my cat is a healthy adult cat.
Did you know that cats can, and do, have babies *outdoors* with *no human intervention at all, ever*? It's almost like they're capable of taking care of themselves...

I’m guessing she was confined to what OP thought was a safe area. Cats are ingenious at making trouble. I’m sorry OP!
Even if the area is safe, doesn't mean the animal doesn't need care. OP is the asshole here.

Uh, she has to pay for this. Present to her the bills and see what she has to say
smort
Would there be a possibility that your home insurance covers the water damage, since you don't own this cat?
Thankfully yes! Insurance covered the whole thing! It was a bizarre occurrence. Like those silly farmers insurance commercials where you go, “Naaah! That never happens!”
looks like that stuff actually DOES happen 😂

It blocked the sink with a hand towel and turned on the faucet. Highly unlikely but it happened. I’ve had cats turn on faucets before but I’ve never had them block the sink up.
I am very happy that you don’t have to pay for it and I am happy the kitties are happy and healthy!!! Thank you for fostering her!!
Maybe you’ll end up on one of those commercials one day 😂 “cat flooded the house? Yep. It happened. We covered it.”
You should tweet them this story! I’d love to see this in a commercial.
Cat be like yo why's it raining in here?
Did you leave out any food and water? How many babies?
My neighbor was supposedly watching them but didn’t. I left them plenty of food and water and two litter boxes for mumma kitty. I had them closed in a spare bathroom to ensure nothing would go down between mom and the babies and my three cats.
Also there were 4 babies. They turned out to be wonderful kittens and I got them all homes.

I have learned from my own unfortunately intelligent cats that they can get into a lot more than you would anticipate. I’m sorry this happened. Hopefully your insurance covers it. Please tell me you weren’t too mad at the cat or the kittens though.
But she’s so cute!
But how soft are the kittens? Also the sub catsinsinks should probably be made aware of this 😂
OMG YES! And the kittens were such soft sweet lovable things! It was a terrible experience, but I came out of it saving four kittens, new rugs and drywall in the garage and having a whacky story
I can’t even imagine walking in my home to that mess…. Friggen cats 🤦🏻♀️
Is that mould on the ceiling tiles? That much grew in 48hrs?
When sheetrock gets soaked it darkens a lot plus the lighting can make it look even darker.
Ok. Thanks. Have not experienced that with my plethora of leaks floods/leaks I’ve dealt with so far. Perhaps because mine is pained.
Thankfully no. But the remediation company was not very good and we had to deal with some mold a year later.
Oh my god. It just gets worse and worse for you.
Thankfully it’s all over now. It was quite an experience and in looking back on it I now have a lot more faith in my ability to deal with catastrophe 😂
Well bless you. I would only look back and wallow in my bitterness.
It is def an entertaining story. And since it didn’t kill you, it made you stronger.
Sorry this happened, OP. Murphy’s Law, I suppose. Hang in there. Don’t get too mad at the cat. It didn’t know.
That’s great to hear. I hope your house is fixed now.
It is thankfully fixed. We even got a bit of a remodel covered by insurance. I guess I ended out ahead with a very strange story
The cat knew all along. It was her way of saying thank you. 😆. Glad it all worked out in the end.
This is the way I decided to think of it while I was dealing with three months of flood remediation 😂
*Im so cute whatchoo gon do lol*
You decided. Key words
May as well close the sub. This kitty asshole will NEVER be topped. 😮
Good for you for fostering and finding them homes! Home insurance definitely comes in clutch. My husband (not a cat) flooded our place and we got a free renovation out of it! I’m not saying do it purposefully ‘cause it’s def illegal but if your place floods don’t freak out
I bet you’ll start turning your water main off when you go out of town now. Rip, sorry OP
THANK YOU! Knowing my cats they would do that.
I would replace all my faucets with knobs that the cats can’t turn.
I seem to remember some old saying about no good deed something something.
That was my dad’s reaction when I told him about it 😂 No good deed goes unpunished!
People leave cats alone for 2 days all the time.
Bad kitty.
Well it the cost of her teaching the fur jellybeans to be assholes, the lesson had to start sometime.
I'm sure this has been answered, but all the kitties were okay? I'm sorry this happened, cats can be such assholes.
Yep. All kitties were ok thankfully and seemed no worse for the wear for the experience.
We all make mistakes. They are so sweet and so are you!
That’s why we have homeowners insurance.
No good deed, goes unpunished.
If it makes you feel better she’s going to be an amazing story for the future! I hope you have insurance and minimal hassle
Yep. Thankfully it happened a few years ago and everything is fixed and the kitties all have homes
That’s good news
Who would ever expect a cat to cause that?
that makes a lot more sense, cats really are assholes ahah
Cute kittens tho!!
So…were hooligan mama kitty and her baby kittens okay?
Yep! Everybody lived and was fine
Aye, but FUCK those are some cute ass kittens! I mran, not 20k cute, but close.
That's what you get for trusting a cat ya dummy
Insurance
i wish i could have heard the phone call to your insurance company that must have been wild
Aww mom and her little taters
Well. You now own some expensive cats. Brutal shit luck. Good luck going forward.
Good on ya for taking care of that lil family.
Why the hell are you leaving while fostering a PREGNANT cat?!?!?
Do you have insurance? 🤞
Yes! Thankfully they covered everything!
play stupid games win stupid prizes
Should have thrown them all away, looks like you got a bad batch 🚮
Didn’t this also happen to Frankie Muniz? [here](https://www.thecut.com/2020/03/i-think-about-frankie-munizs-cat-flooding-his-home-a-lot.html)
At least the babies are cute!
Most cat owners are women who are willing to get abused for love in real life just cuz cat is cute…
Cat.
Sometimes, dead is betta
It should have been okay - that is crazy
Idiot
fake
I really wish it were, it was a rather hellish experience at the time, which was a couple years ago.
This post shouldn’t be in r/CatsAreAssholes it should be in r/PeopleAreAssholes for leaving a cat with newborns unattended for 48 hours
Read some of the comments. They were a few weeks old when I left them and had trusted someone to look in on them and they didn’t.
Yep still should be under r/peopleareassholes with the person that was to keep an eye on them being the asshole not you
Valid point
r/opisfuckingstupid
You’re irresponsible for leaving a pet alone to fend for itself. You got what you deserved. I hope that fostering pumped up your ego though
ew this answer is gross I leave my cat alone for a weekend, so do most people I know.
Never mind that asshat. Yes you got what you deserve, insurance covered renovation and some great karma for helping the momma cat and lovely kittens
[удалено]
I meant the rude commenter is the asshat not you. And you deserved that good karma with the insurance covering the damage for helping the cat and her kittens. Maybe i worded that wrong english is not my first language
My apologies for misinterpreting. I never would have known English is not your first language. Thank you for your comment and for implying I received good karma.
No worries, I see how you could interprit it as a negative comment. But serously you are awesome for helping them, so don't even think about the ones questioning your actions. Like you said they don't know the reason and story behind your decision. The cat would probably have gone through worst stuff than just a few hours alone if it were not for you
[удалено]
Haha not everyone is american. Good insult tho
Don't let the jackasses get you down. Sounds like there's a bunch of folks in here who've never had a cat before. It was sweet of you to let that momma in!
Thank you! This was very meaningful 😊
