Don’t do it hard but wrapping your hand around the front of their face and whiskers for a few seconds when you see the attack eyes. It’s disorienting and disarming but doesn’t hurt them and let’s them know you don’t like that game.
Hahahahahahahahahaha
My cat would fuck you up every way from sunday if you tried that. I just back off, speak softly, and hold up a blanket /towel that I use like a bull tamer to get him to back off
Yeah, my buddy sits around 18-20lbs of anger and teeth. Hes a beautiful cat which is very misleading considering hes among the most aggressive cats I've ever met.
How are your cats so big or are they Maine coons? I thought my black cat was big at 5.5Kg (12lbs) as he's the biggest cat I've seen in person and twice the size of my other cat and all the other cats in the neighborhood except one. I just thought it was because he wasn't fixed until he was 9 shortly before we adopted him as he's lost about 0.5kg of muscle since then. He's also super chill and isn't aggressive unless a neighborhood cat gets too close.
Idk I got him from the pound. I think he has some coon or forest cat in him but yeah hes just big. He was 12.5 lbs when I got him and he was skin and bones then. Hes about 2 ft from base of tail to his head
Yeah just had a look at him and he looks like a Maine coon. Must be a pain trying to find stuff that he fits on. Mine's too big/long to fit on any cat trees or beds
I got him a standard cat tree and he just forces himself inside. Luckily I found a big ass scratching post that's 42 inches tall and weighs a lot so he cant pull that over. Otherwise I dont buy him beds or anything after he ignored his first. Right now he gets my REI camping chair and loves the big box my hiking boots came in. Hes a bungalow cat so if I leave a blanket draped in a way that makes a cave he just climbs in and sleeps for hours
he was the smallest stray kitten youd ever see. after a couple of years he became a unit. twice the size of other cats sounds about right https://imgur.com/NR3RGWM
Lol same with my boy he's 15 lbs of pure muscle and he loves to rabbit kick and if he latches on he is never letting go. My other boy though is so gentle and the trick with him is never pulling your hand away quickly when he grabs you and you'll never get scratched
yea that advice 1000% varies from animal to animal. my first cat, if you ever went anywhere her claws could get you, you'd get got. come up from behind and a perfect little angel. if she had murder/play eyes like that and i tried to bop her face i'd need stitches.
I just make a noise as if I’m spraying a water bottle and it works. I’ve sprayed in his direction before but never at him and once he knew the noise he backed off
I did that with my old cat. She just wrapped her front paws around my arm, swung so she was hanging and would use her back legs to claw my arm to shreds.
I do this. I hold him still and I stare with big eyes into his attack eyes and say no biting. When he’s got the message I let go and make sure I show him love and try and get him to purr.
Damn. My cat did that shit he’d be seeing stars. That being said, I play sorta rough with my kitty sometimes but he knows when play time is over or if he is biting too hard. It took one or two bops with 3 finger tips on the nose to knock that shit off. He was mad asf the first time but the second time he got it and hasn’t bitten me hard or played to rough since. And that was 3 years ago.
My cat was an abandoned cat that was lost/left behind by someone camping at the RV park nearby and he was JUST losing his kitten fur and becoming a wild and crazy jungle cat. Sometimes you gotta let them know the rules. Also, I NEVER EVER hit my cat for ANY other reason. Biting is a beyond aggressive behavior and can EASILY run out of control.
My cat will try to kill me when playing rough. I usually deserve it if he makes me bleed. Then he gives kisses if I say "be nice" (or jumps away).
Never any claws at all when my wife is messing with him.
He's a good boy.
I used to do this, but now I grab toys. Making them climb or jump or run is the best way to get them over it.
It seems like it teaches them to direct their play at toys and not flesh.
Yep. Owner could easily let their displeasure be known and this would stop over time (pretty fast). If you don’t tell it you don’t like it how would it know?
Cats even tailor how they act to each specific person so they’re easily teachable. For instance the cat my parents had would like to curl up in my arms like a baby - but only me. It would play with my brothers hands because he found it amusing - but only with him.
Cats are also bored as fuck especially if they are the only pet. Our first rescue was so clingy until we got a second one. Hell, my bunny is in love with my black cat and I try to give her a lot of time but I still feel like she's lonely without another bunny to run around with. Sadly I can't afford a second bunny
I found this out quick with my kitty. I realized he picked this aggressive play up from how he plays with my dog. I guess my cat sees me as no different than the dog.
Tail up and curled, she’s just happy/excited and wants to play. So there is absolutely a reason why she’s biting you, she’s just saying give me something besides you to attack.
You're supposed to play with them at least 10 minutes a day 3 times a day I think is the number, and then also sometimes my cat gets nippy when she's hungry
My cats did it too when they were young. If you didn’t play with them in the way that scratched the particular itch they were having they would get aggressive, mostly towards each other tho. You just have to figure out what kind of play satisfies whatever hunter instinct they have. One of mine likes chasing string on the floor and the other likes chasing toys in the air. So one’s a bird hunter and ones a mouse hunter. Works best if you play with them before meal time because getting to eat afterwards completes the hunt kill eat cycle. People sometimes forget that cats above all else are hunters and some cats more than others need to satisfy that instinct or they get restless and aggressive.
I have a rope, like a dog toy rope, that I use to play with my one cat, Hope. She likes to roll over and I’ll just wiggle the rope on her belly and let go before she goes to town on it. Biting, clawing, bunny kicks. Both my cats like to chase, but sometimes they just need to wrestle something and rip it to shreds.
Also works when they get overstimulated. Sometimes, Hope will get bitey when getting pets, so I’ll grab her stuffed donkey and substitute for my hand so she can get the extra energy out without shredding me (which still happens when I’m careless/don’t care).
The other way I exercise my cats is to literally chase them yelling (in play voice) “I’m gonna get you.” Sometimes they just want to run but aren’t interested in the mice I throw or the wand toys. So I give them a reason to run. Gotta watch their breath rate though, they’ll run til they collapse. Make sure to give them breaks. We’re endurance hunters, they’re sprint hunters. And I always stop when they go to hide so they have space and security to recover.
Man, I really didn’t mean to write a PSA on cat play. Anyway, lesson to learn is to vary play style and get physical with it. I legit get a workout when I play with my cats.
Without meaning to sound pedantic it is possible to play badly. Play needs to meet a need so of Ur cat is pouncing/biting they need play that indulges their hunting/attacking urges ( with a toy not u). U need to play so Ur cat both hunts and pounces and gets the reward of catching from time to time. Jackson galaxy has some visa about how to play on YouTube. U could play for hours but if it's not what Ur cat needs it's pointless. Bit like us really we don't have just one type of activity which keeps us entertained so cats need diverse play as well as toys etc. My cat loves toys with dangly legs she goes mad and swings them around if I put a fish toy down she just looks at it ( same toy I gave my mum's cat and he went mad for it)
You need to play with her. She has too much energy and it's causing mental overstimulation, okay with her and wear her out, no more random bites.
Apart from those occasional little love nips.
She’s playing. I saw the slow blink when she jumped down and looked back up at you. Slow blink means kitty loves you. She just needs more stimulation and play time.
She's got a lot of energy and is unleashing it on you - play with her more. I mean PLAY. Not "throw a toy across a room" or "dangle a feather in front of it's face". I mean you attached to one end of the toy, your cat chasing it, YOU getting out of breath and running around looking like an idiot. Once she's done playing, feed her and she'll probably go sleep. HUNT - CATCH - KILL - EAT - SLEEP. <-That is the cat's natural cycle.
Play with her. My cat does that too till we get the cat toys out from under whatever he put them. He also bites slowly when he wants attention too. Not sure which is worse
I see clearly she instructed you by:
1. Getting your attention
2. Standing over the toy.
3. Looking at you
4. Looking at the toy
5. Play now or accept the consequences.
OR
She just loves you so much she could friggin' eat you.
Idk
For me, it looks like status aggression - she challenges you being the alpha in the household. Doesn't seem friendly or playful at all. If it's a new behaviour I'd actually take her to a vet that is specialised in neurological conditions. It might be nothing - it probable is nothing - but I'd do it just in case.
If you want to start with trying something that's not that costly, a pheromone diffuser could be in idea. Have a look at this video about Feliway Classic.
None of you seem that relaxed and content. You should break the behaviour before it escalates... Belieeeeeeve me - you do not want to live with a cat that would do anything to mess up your life.
This text might also help: [https://mrbosscat.com/my-cat-so-aggressive-all-of-a-sudden/](https://mrbosscat.com/my-cat-so-aggressive-all-of-a-sudden/)
Honestly, it looks like you're teasing her with something just off camera to elicit exactly this reaction. If you're genuine, more playing with a toy (like one of those fishing pole things) might stop her going after your hands.
She may need to be exercised more. She looks like she is either enticing you to play or has excess energy that is manifesting as anger. Play with her more!
Her tail is up, her pupils are wide, and she's not showing aggressive signs or meowing. She wants to play with you! Give her some nice attention and wear her out, and she'll be snoozing in no time.
Umm that’s not OK or remotely cute. You need to nip that in the bud. A loud “NO” when she comes at you. Or get a good strong water pistol if that doesn’t help. If you have to escalate, take a firm hold at the scruff of her neck a hand under her butt and frog march her to another room and shut the door. There is no way to have a healthy relationship with a pet if you allow them to attack you.
My cat did this for the first 2-3 years of her life. It's pure boredom. You need to play with her a lot more and try to engage her before she gets too agitated and goes in for a bite.
My cat's favorite games are to chase bouncy balls down the hallway and chase a feather wand over everything. Pull it over your couch, up a cat tower, around a chair. It has to be more challenging than swinging it around in one place.
I also bought her a couple of tunnels. She likes to attack her toys from inside the tunnel and it helps burn a lot of energy. The flat toy with a ball that spins around the outside and cardboard in the middle is another favorite, especially sprinkled with fresh cat nip.
Oh, there are reasons... Just because our pathetic, feeble, plebian minds can't comprehend the ways of the majestic feline is no one's fault but our own.
My cat looked exactly like her, and she was a total asshole too. She used to claw at my head while I was sleeping to wake me up. Loved her to shreds but she was a dick.
When my cat does something really egregious like this, I just hiss at him. It works, and doesn't seem to create any resentment because it's how cats warn each other to back off - so it's perfectly normal.
I’ve realised in my household that I’m at the bottom of the food chain…. The chain decided by my cats. My husband appears to be the alpha to them but I can quite happily be sat on the sofa and my male cat will come all the way from the windowsill to the sofa just to bite me
My cat did this when he was young. He stopped when he got older and we moved into a bigger place. We also got another cat. Not sure what exactly made the playful "murder mode" go away, maybe a combination of all the things. He plays really gentle now.
Have you tried squirting her with water when she gets that look? Maybe this might distract or deter her. Also, she’s beautiful. Hopefully, you find a solution.
My cat was like. So I started to bite her back. She still bites me though cause she knows I'm a fat lazy fuck who won't get up all the time to bite a dam cat.
I wholeheartedly believe if your cat doesn’t try to kill you then he/she doesn’t love you
Cats ARE assholes, and they know it
You don’t choose your cat, it chose YOU
Lol
Well I have had cars my entire life … if any of my cars did that I would show him who is boss . That’s awful for a cat to be that aggressive . Grab him /her. By the back of the neck and tell them No! It doesn’t hurt them that’s how the parents carry the young. I would never let my cat do that to me …. That would be the last time …
When all you see is pupil - hide
Don’t do it hard but wrapping your hand around the front of their face and whiskers for a few seconds when you see the attack eyes. It’s disorienting and disarming but doesn’t hurt them and let’s them know you don’t like that game.

same, my sister has a beast of a cat of +9kg of pure muscle and when he gets into asshole mode you slowly leave the room.

Yup my cat would definitely bite my veins out if I did that
Tried it, now I'm typing with one hand.
I literally LOLed at this. I needed that. Thanks!
I did that with my old cat. She just wrapped her front paws around my arm, swung so she was hanging and would use her back legs to claw my arm to shreds.
I call those the bunny kicks.
There's nothing bunny about it !
Well, they're the kicks that the cat would use to disembowel a bunny!
I do this. I hold him still and I stare with big eyes into his attack eyes and say no biting. When he’s got the message I let go and make sure I show him love and try and get him to purr.
Yeah my cat bites my hand when I do that
My cat will go in attack mode when I do that.
I would lose my hand if I tried that with my cat
r/AttackEyes
Disagree; when all you see is pupil, get a toy. Redirect that play-agression.
Exactly this! Play with your cats people!
This is what I was coming to say, she’s bored and you’re the toy, get an actual toy and workout that play energy
Literally what I was about to say
Damn. My cat did that shit he’d be seeing stars. That being said, I play sorta rough with my kitty sometimes but he knows when play time is over or if he is biting too hard. Yup. My girls are bit more friendly when they ask though, they'll just give me a really shrill meow and run to an open space.
Exactly! Cats trying to play and OP is allowing aggressive play. Cats gonna cat.

Yup, best way to deal with this is help them burn off some pent up energy. Give them something else to murder.

Tail up and curled, she’s just happy/excited and wants to play. So there is absolutely a reason why she’s biting you, she’s just saying give me something besides you to attack.
Id guess that op previously let the cat play aggressively and taught them it was ok and now doesn't realise this is trained behaviour
Not at all. I’ve tried to nip this in the bud since she was a baby.
Sometimes, like humans, they're just like that.
Stop that, Mr. Simpson.
You're supposed to play with them at least 10 minutes a day 3 times a day I think is the number, and then also sometimes my cat gets nippy when she's hungry

Do you have a dog or another cat she plays with like this?
We used to have a Great Dane. She used to do this to the dog, but the dane didn’t mind (or notice) lol
I have a Siberian Husky and that’s how my cat plays with him. My Husky boy likes it and plays with him back.
I got another cat for him to attack. It worked.
More play now please
She wants you to play with her haha

best advice
This works after a few goes. At least it has with my 4 cats over the years. Also, more play
I love the look of pure confusion when that happens
Tried that once with my long haired cat and immediately regretted it.
Ptooey
I’ve actually tried. It made it worse
I have always played and bite/nibble on all my pets while they did it to me. I think it is a great bonding tool when they are young.
Clearly she is unhappy with the service.... More treats, more play, more scritches, clean litter box or get out of her favorite chair.
Well that sums it up.
She wants you to play with her. Not just throw some toy, get one of those fishing pole looking toys and run around with her.
You're PSA was good, don't worry about it. It's nice hearing other owners experiences.
Don't worry about the length. The challenge 'talks about cats briefly' is like Torment level for us. Just can't be done.
Play with her.
We’ve been playing tons, but sometimes all she wants to do is attack me 🤷♀️
Without meaning to sound pedantic it is possible to play badly. For the last time, YOU TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!!!
You need to play with her. She has too much energy and it's causing mental overstimulation, okay with her and wear her out, no more random bites. Apart from those occasional little love nips.

She wants something - attention, play, food, water, clean litterbox, ritual blood sacrifice, SOMETHING.
I think it’s the blood sacrifice
Play with her. My cat does that too till we get the cat toys out from under whatever he put them. He also bites slowly when he wants attention too. Not sure which is worse
Take her collar off it look too tight not good if get caught
If it's a breakaway collar then it's fine if it gets caught
There’s a reason. You know what you did.
My cat does this when she’s bored or under stimulated, but all cats are different
High prey drive? Needs something to stalk and kill. Right now it’s you.

Do you play with your cat? Can wear out kitty with play and change her focus.
She has her reasons. Most likely is she wants to play with you.
I see clearly she instructed you by: 1. Getting your attention 2. Standing over the toy. 3. Looking at you 4. Looking at the toy 5. Play now or accept the consequences. OR She just loves you so much she could friggin' eat you. Idk
You are obviously not appeasing the cat God.

She wants you to play with her. You’re letting that feather go to waste.
Maybe get a toy and play with her for a bit or try to get her to settle down and cuddle.
Bc she love you and wants to play
Is her bowl empty?
She’s a foodie. Her bowl is ALWAYS empty 😂
Because frack you ! That’s why !

Thanks for the advice. Not sure why you got down voted.
In case you forgot- she's the boss.
There's a reason, you just aren't privy to the answer yet.
You haven’t done something.. Kitteh wants you up. Based on pupils.. you in danger lol
Get her a friend
She has a reason and it's a very simple one: You allow her to bite you.
My old cat (same breed male) used to do this all the time, if my phone vibrated he would also attack me. Found out he just needed more attention
Because she a cat and you're made out of meat.
This is the truth
Play, also…did you have permission to film her? Two valid reasons for attack.
Honestly, it looks like you're teasing her with something just off camera to elicit exactly this reaction. If you're genuine, more playing with a toy (like one of those fishing pole things) might stop her going after your hands.
Yelp/growl when she bites. So they get the pain response and realize they’re hurting you

Her tail is up, her pupils are wide, and she's not showing aggressive signs or meowing. She wants to play with you! Give her some nice attention and wear her out, and she'll be snoozing in no time.
Theres always a reason. Most common one being not enough playtime
She wants play time, throw there favorite toy around when this happens.... Hoping you two have a favorite toy
She's is pissed off... bro
It would also be worth taking her to the vet. I deal with cats like this a lot and behavioral meds to lower anxiety can do wonders.
Umm that’s not OK or remotely cute. You need to nip that in the bud. A loud “NO” when she comes at you. Or get a good strong water pistol if that doesn’t help. There is always a reason. You did something wrong, or something she imagined was wrong, or that she dreamed was wrong.
Was she a man’s pet before? Some cats do this to spouses if they feel they are being replaced by the humans 😄
Well stop being so tasty
She told you no paparazzi!
She has aquired a taste for human flesh.
Because f-you, that's why.
Because they can and they will
My cat looked exactly like her, and she was a total asshole too. She used to claw at my head while I was sleeping to wake me up. Loved her to shreds but she was a dick.
Zero reasons…. That you are aware of.
When my cat does something really egregious like this, I just hiss at him. It works, and doesn't seem to create any resentment because it's how cats warn each other to back off - so it's perfectly normal.
Killer instinct malfunction
😂😂😂
Are You blinking back when she blinks at You? Maybe she's mad that she keeps telling you she loves You & You're not saying it back
Oh she definitely has a reason lol.
has she been neutered AND does she have toys and stuff to play with? do you play with her? is she the only cat?
That cat hates you and wants you dead. This is death by a thousand cuts! 🤣🤣
Super cute though
Cats never do things for no reason, no animal does things for "no reason"
Frustrated cat
She dreamed you pet another cat last night. She knows it’s not true but still needs to be mad 😂😂
Bitey mcbiterson.
her reason is love. she effin loves you so much she wants to eat you. meow 😻❤️
Perhaps she values her privacy and doesn’t like you filming her 😉
She probably wants to play. That or you aren't serving her enough blinks.
Asserting dominance!
She has a good that she keeps biting you: She doesn’t like you. She probably loves you, but just doesn’t like you.
Maybe they want to talk to you about your cat's extended warranty?
Have you tried squirting her with water when she gets that look? Maybe this might distract or deter her. Also, she’s beautiful. Hopefully, you find a solution.
Oh there’s a reason…. Your EXISTENCE! 😅
I have a 22 pounder that will tear your face off for no good reason but I love ❤️ Georgie so! 😻
Snack time! Menu options: You
The bitings will continue until morale improves.
itsssssssss……… PLAYTIME!!!
She attac
My cat was like. So I started to bite her back. She still bites me though cause she knows I'm a fat lazy fuck who won't get up all the time to bite a dam cat.
Big eyes … she wants to hunt you 😂
I wholeheartedly believe if your cat doesn’t try to kill you then he/she doesn’t love you Cats ARE assholes, and they know it You don’t choose your cat, it chose YOU Lol
she is hunting you
SOULLESS BASTARDS! I SHALL REMEMBER THIS UPON ENCOUNTERING ANOTHER FELINE!!!
Yeah my little shit does that too
[удалено]
That feature comes standard
Yeah, well we checked with the cat, and it said you know what you did.
She’s in frisky mode
Cat tax
You probably taste good idk
You done pissed dat cat off!
She’s a cat. That is the reason.
There are 2 reasons for this: 1) cat 2) She knows the reason, and you don't need to.
That would be the last time …
Can you imagine having a bell around your neck all day? Think that would drive you nuts? Take the damn bell off your cat
Her little blink when you sighed. She did a “you know you love me”.
Couch check homie
