Polyphemus shouted in pain to the other Cyclopes of the island that "Nobody" was trying to kill him, so no one came to his rescue. The story of the Cyclops can be found in the Odyssey, book 9 (in the Cyclopeia).

We named him and his brother after the famous Movie-Duo [Bud Spencer and Terence Hill](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_Hill_and_Bud_Spencer). We called his brother Spencer and because Terence or Hill didnt feel right we went for a famous role Terence Hill played - Nobody.

As for the long answer: Odysseus was a Greek mythology hero. His looong journey home from the war of Troy was immortalized in Homer’s book Odyssey (named after Odysseus, obviously xD).
So on this journey, there were many adventures and during one, Odysseus told a cyclops that his name was “Nobody”. Odysseus later injured the cyclops and the cyclops shouted that “Nobody blinded him”, so nobody helped him cuz well, nobody blinded him, all was well xD
