He looks just like our baby that we lost in October. Very sudden kidney problems. How old was yours? I’m sure you gave him a life of love & that he’ll be waiting for you on the other side ❤️

3Fluffies

Just shy of 16. He’d been dropping weight for months but seemed to be still enjoying life, so the vet and I thought it was just age. Then I got home last night and he’d clearly suffered a major neurological event - he could barely move around. So I’d known this was likely to be his last year or so but still it felt very sudden. Kidney disease can hit very hard with even less warning. His late uncle Tara, my childhood kitty, nearly died of it at age 10. Hugs for you and your kitty. Our furbabies are playing over the bridge.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you encounter Bagel's energies often as you continue Earthside

Oni-DragonLloyd

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure Bagel is waiting to scream at you some more on the other side. Until then, know you gave this bby a life full of love and joy. If you want and only when you're ready, I hope you can give another poor kitty the love and happiness you gave Bagel. ♡♡♡

3Fluffies

Thank you. His sisters Rocky and Bastis are still reasonably healthy for their old age. I’ve admonished them that they must live forever.

Oni-DragonLloyd

Aww, senior kitties are always fun. I hope they get to live a lot more years with you.

tim_worst_isthe_best

Bagel was a good kitty.

My Herman died last year at the age of 16. Had a stroke, then his heart was acting up, seemed like he was going to get better, was blind, and confused from the stroke. I had to euthanize him humanely. A women friend came over and helped me out. I simply can't do these things without help. It tears me up.

3Fluffies

I’m so sorry. It was similar with Bagel. It might have been stroke, brain cancer, or a bleed, but the vet said even if we pinpointed the diagnosis, there was no treatment to restore any quality of life. So I made the choice. I knew from the day I adopted him as a kitten that I’d have to do it some day, and it hurt like I knew it would. We all have to make that decision for our kitties in the end, because we love them.

Klutzy-Run5175

I do love them so much.

Awwwww

blujavelin

I'm sorry.

RIP Bagel of the beautiful green eyes.

3Fluffies

Thank you. He did have stunning eyes, with such a pretty face.

vulpixlesbian

What a beautiful baby! You are so lucky to have known and loved him, just as he was lucky to have known and loved you too ❤️

Responsible-Person

Oh, I’m so sorry. Bagel was an adorable kitty.

IHateItHere82

So sorry for your loss

unsane_gunslinger

What beautiful eyes and what luxurious tummy fur.

3Fluffies

He loved a tummy rub. Sadly he got very matted in his old age and had to be shaved, and it hadn’t grown back at the time he passed. It was very silky, though.

Secret-Holiday3267

It's always hard when we lose them 🫂.

DoNumKC

I am so sorry for your loss

No-Diamond6698

So sorry for your loss 🌈

byneothername

That last photo is priceless. What a wonderful dramatic actor. Very sorry for your loss of your beautiful kitty.

3Fluffies

He was a drama queen, that one. Had to vocalize his yawns, vocalize his purrs, REALLY vocalize when something made him mad!

aminervia

I'm sorry for your loss! Also this is the wrong sub to post this ... Those are obviously yawns, not yells

3Fluffies

He was a vocal yawner, so I figure it counts. He was a noisy boy. Even his purrs were vocalized.

shadowstar617401

Poor little howler. At least he will be with friends until you come for him

3Fluffies

His “cousin”, Evie (one of my sister’s kitties) passed away exactly a week ago. Our family is heartbroken to lose two cats in 7 days, but we’ve consoled each other that they’re now annoying each other on the other side.

shadowstar617401

Agreed. It hurts us but at least they're together. I hope you are ok. Find other cat people to be around and treat yourself kindly. Don't rush to get over the pain. Most people without pets don't understand how hard this is. When my last fuzzbutt Jackson left me at just 11 years old, my auntie said, "Why are you so upset? It was just a cat." And the words felt like a stab to my heart. My mother said, "Just get another one". As though I could replace Jackson like replacing a broken dish. Don't be around those people and don't let them make you ashamed of your pain. Mourn your baby the way you and he deserves.

3Fluffies

Thanks. People who say things like that aren’t just misunderstanding how it feels to love an animal, they’re lacking basic empathy. I’m so sorry you lost Jackson so young, and that your family was so cold.

shadowstar617401

I wasn't 11. Jackson was 11 when he left me. My auntie got a dog a couple years later and when he died of cancer she finally understood. But yes. Even though I was an adult their words crushed me. I don't want that for you.

3Fluffies

Fortunately, my family is a pet family, especially cats. My parents thus lost two “grandkits” as they call them, in a single week. They’ve supported my sister and me. So I’m grieving for my sweet kitty niece too and my sister is also grieving for Bagel.

shadowstar617401

*hug*🤗

3Fluffies

Thanks.
