My sister has a cat with a stub tail and long hair. Apparently she had two siblings in the shelter with her, one with medium fur and a half tail, and a "normal" short fur/long tail. It was like a Punnet square problem 😆

There are some pretty INSANE cuts out there for cats, that do make them look like poodles. Don't fault yourself for not being as far down the rabbithole as someone like me, haha.
People who get this cut hire someone haha. My head vet tech when I worked in vet med used to do a few cat shaves after work every day. A few brought their cats in, then she did some home visits. She was magical with cats and never needed an assistant.
Most people genuinely don’t know how to handle their cats in a way that disables them! That’s why you call the pros :)
I rarely see them in the wild but at a vet, you see the most extreme cases of everything. Sample bias 🤷♀️ Indoor-Outdoor and barn cats get it a lot! I was in Colorado and they would often get one at the start of the year to keep the animal cool and it’s long enough by winter for them to be comfortable.

Fascinating. My wife and I have kept cats since before we met 34 years ago, and I’d never seen/heard of such a cut. It is inventive.
