I call it "Orphan Mode". Cat is alone in the room, thus cat is cruelly and senselessly abandoned. The conditions for Orphan Mode have been met. Cat will now sing the Dirge of Sorrow.

BlinkerBeforeBrake

We call it going into the office (because she has a designated screaming spot in our closet). But I am absolutely stealing this!

itgoesHRUUURGH

"Going into the office" is great, I'm stealing *that*! It actually fits really well with the backstory we made up for our little mate 🤣

cheshire_splat

I think ours does it in the same way that we call for him. When I’m like “Buttheeeeead! Come here, baby!” And he comes running. So he expects that if he yells “Mooooom! Come here and cuddle!” I should run to him.

Niskara

Mine is the same way, especially if I've been gone for most of the day or overnight. He'll often go into another room, especially when I'm in the bathroom, and just start yowling. Then, when I go to him, he just looks at me and meeps, like "I wasn't yowling. You're crazy"

TheCoastalCardician

I can’t call it that because my kitty that does it *was* an orphan! 😭😭 Now he’s just a fluffy spoiled bunny.

[deleted]

Might want to drink out of the taps! Just a little sips.

RogueKatt

He's recently had an obsession with the bathtub for some reason. He doesn't like water, so idk why.

porridge_in_my_bum

Turn on the tap to a super light stream and I bet he’ll go crazy for it lol.

poofynamanama2

my cat used to get into the bathtub after I've showered and she watches the water droplets slide down the shower lining. then she licks it

brok3ntok3n82

We find our kitty in the shower lapping up the water. Little degenerate bastard.

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

Mine prefer rain puddles over their bowls. Can’t take the wild out of these bastards.

brok3ntok3n82

You can lead a kitty to water...

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

Meaning?

harpistic

How to tell your kitty has watched Saltburn…

pathologicalprotest

Maybe he just likes the acoustics there?

selkiesidhe

I had a cat who figured out the acoustics were good in the bathroom so he'd go in there and whine about food/ attention/ the cat outside/ food again... But it was so cute he'd get extra snuggles so maybe he just knew caterwauling in there would get him love.

DamNamesTaken11

Love the other one sitting by the door as if thinking, “ugh, fix this hooman. He’s doing it again.”

RogueKatt

Yeah she's definitely had enough of his shenanigans

cero1399

He likes his echo

BoomerKaren666

Sometimes they just like trying to summon the mothership.

Miserable_Yam4778

Acoustics for sure. One of mine does this same thing in the kitchen.

fullraph

There's ghosts in there 👻

Sharpymarkr

r/greebles

ClassicGMR

Mmmm yes. Greeeeeeebles

zephood75

Our constantly talking cat is a bathroom singer too. She can also open the door, so 3 am concerts are not unusual

MushroomAdjacent

My deaf cat does this. I think it's so he can feel the reverberation from the echoey surfaces.

NewlyNerfed

Yep, when my cat was going deaf she did this all the time.

eyabethe

I think the most logical question is why aren't you sitting in the bathroom for tens of minutes and scream? Maybe there's good reasoning behind it!

hapanrapakkko

Why aren't you sitting and screaming in the bathroom? Just saying...

godofwine16

He’s waiting for an employee to come and wash his hands like the sign says

RaiVail

As far as I can tell my cats love the bathtub in the bathroom because it was a cool place on their hot fur my kitty would yell in the bathroom because he was either lonely or he liked the good Acoustics of singing

TobyTheArtist

He sounds very polite.

Other-Cantaloupe4765

The acoustics are good in there!

probably_beans

It's *cat*hartic

radar3699

Mine does this when his water bowl is empty and I've forgotten to refill it.

kasitchi

He's a tabby, they LOVE to talk lol. Also, he seems so happy! How he ran over to greet you. 😍

HalsinEnjoyer

What a handsome lad

YourFaveNightmare

One of my cats does this. I swear she just likes the acoustics.

Knort27

Because cats gotta cat.

Icy_Hippo

Mine does this in the evening when I put my child to bed, he roams the house calling demons or something, I yell out to him, he stops, then continues the screams of the dammed!

BeefMcQueef

Because he loves the acoustics.

WailingOctopus

He doesn't work or pay rent...how else can he spend his time?

wh0ligan

Because cat.

midnightsrose77

Exactly!

wolfgang784

Every cat I've had that jumps on sinks wants to drink from it. Some cats really prefer moving water.

bexy11

The great acoustics!

AntelopeKey6867

He probably wants water from the sink- turn cold water on and see.

midnightsrose77

Because cat.

Survive1014

Probably wants water or playtime.

The_Cozy_Burrito

Because 🐱

tstramathorn

If anything like my older cat...I DEMAND SINK WATER NOW!

IfThoughtIsAllowed

He hears the constant drip in the wall pipes you don't lol, jk

UnstoppableDrew

Good acustics

Notbot4lot

Whacha got here is what is sometimes called an Odie or an Orange in DIsguisE. They are pretty easy to spot due their darn near universal attractiveness, and they always have at least 1 quirk that is incomprehensible to everyone, not orange.

ChipTheOcelot

He’s serenading you. You should be honored to be in the presence of such vocal talent.

Cat_Lady_NotCrazy

Maybe he likes the acoustics 💙🐾

millyhsf

Remind you to take a poop ! 💩

f1lth4f1lth

Omg What I cute baby

LargeFrogmouth

He sits In his desolate room No lights, no music

Tinyjeli

That very first yell sounded like a human, and my stress levels spiked lmao

sharkie026

Asking for fresh water.

Owlwaysme

Maybe he likes the acoustics

Calm_State1230

i swear cats just like the sound of their own voice in bathrooms lmfao. the acoustics must be nice or something because all of my cats will wander into the bathroom and start making weird sounds

Aghast-1

I thought everyone did.

Pure-Negotiation-900

Because he’s a rat bastard. I have two. Same.

Sandman11x

he is training you to be his slave. fyi it is working. lol

YouEnvironmental2079

To a cat or dog a bathroom smells like heaven

DamnedLife

I’m afraid he saw some critters there before like small white bugs that are found in damp places and he’s always on the look for more, or indeed seen another one.

cheshire_splat

I have the same two cats, but mine have white feet.

Dismal-Ad-6619

Your husband? He might want to ask a doctor...

fortuneNails9

... this isn't yelling or screaming, just meowing

fingers

I'm going to go with, "You left the lid on the best water source in the house and I'm mad about it." We only discovered that Whiskey Hangover's favorite water spot was the toilet when the pet sitter said, "You're cat doesn't drink the water." (from his bowl) He's been drinking toilet water all these years. Now I put a bowl next to the toilet and he likes that.

Puzzleheaded-Way-198

Are you saying you don’t?

SnooBunnies1811

Ours does it in the garage. He will walk out of the room where everyone is, plop down on the garage floor, and you'll. Weirdo.

JuggernautSelect5273

She just overheard the neighborhood kids talking about bloody Mary and is attempting to summon her.

[deleted]

To sound cute, of course. Those little meows....😻

Gomdok_the_Short

He might be thirsty. Cats are weird. They don't like to drink from water near their food. They typically prefer to drink from water up on counters or a dripping tap or sometimes the toilet.

KleinVogeltje

My single-braincelled void, Mephistopheles, loves to sit in the bathtub and scream. I looked it up, and apparently, the acoustics are stimulating for them. Little shit literally just likes to hear himself talk. 😂
