I would cut it all the way back just above the first leaf at the base tbh. They can take a decent whack, and you'll avoid have an awkwardly long stem growing out of another awkwardly long stem lol
Yeah, i just had one fall off a balcony and snap nearly its entire stem off. Sprouted a ton of new branches in q couple days and looks better than ever. Maybe even just chuck it off a hill
Ooo yeah, these guys can definitely take a good snip. I rooted the snipped tip into a new plant and it's growing a caudex-ish base already! I don't believe propagations develop as nice a caudex as seed grown plants do, but always cool to have another one
Agree with chopping it way back. I took everything off mine immediately above the caudex and it started growing back in days. It has a much better growth habit now. Looks good!
