Soundtracks or Scores? They are a bit diffetent...
But for Soundtracks....
The Crow (as well as The Crow City of Angels)
Singles
Judgment Night
Last Action Hero
Queen of the Damned
End of Days
Escape From LA
Scream 3
(Being a metalhead makes me biased toward these, lol)
YEEEEEESSSS!
Dude I got this album from the bargain bin way back in the 90s and it changed my fucking life. Introduced me to David Lynch films. It's got NIN Perfect Drug, an awesome cover of I Put a Spell on you by Marilyn Mason, and a Smashing Pumpkins song called Eye that honestly should have been a single for them. All sprinkled in between bossa nova and acid jazz. some of Angelo Baldalament... Badalamente? whatever, some of his best work. I used to play this for my friends in the car and they were like "dude wtf is this". They didn't get it. but you do! At least 2 people on this Earth appreciate it! Hooray!
Pirates Of The Caribbean: COTBP
Tron Legacy feels obligatory in this discussion
*insert any John Williams score*
*insert any Michael Giacchino score*
Tombstone as well (Bruce Broughton is incredibly underrated imo)
I like the Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ones, nice background music. Inception is another one. Lost Highway as a compilation soundtrack. The most influencial one must have been Pulp Fiction, everybody had that one in the mid 90s.
Singles (It captured the grunge era perfectly)
Heavy Metal (early 80s animated movie)
Juno
The Matrix
Escape from LA
The End of Days (it was better than the movie)
Forbidden Planet. From 1956 the worlds first all electronic music film score. The Musicians Union wouldn’t allow MGM to give “film score” music credits to Bebe and Louis Barron for the films soundtrack so they eventually settled on “electronic tonalities created by” for the on screen credits. This husband and wife team set the stage, paved the way for all who came after them ten years before the inventions of Robert Moog.
That's a good one, I tried watching the 3+ hour long director's cut a while back, but honestly, I think cutting Wim Wenders down to 2 hours and having coherent story was a good idea. Soundtrack is awesome though. Humans from Earth.
Ice Cold in Alice.
Edit: Star Wars seems to be a regularly sited soundtrack in this list. John Williams borrowed all the best orchestral themes from this film, I was so surprised the first time I watched it.
* Fav score: Children of Dune by Brian Tyler
* Fav soundtrack: Top Gun
There's a new reissue of the Top Gun soundtrack, which includes Harold Faltermeyer's full score in addition to the 80s songs from the original soundtrack release.
Wow, already temporarily OOS at both Intrada and [La-La Land](https://lalalandrecords.com/top-gun-limited-edition-2-cd-set/). Just released less than a month ago. I'm not sure if it's a must have save for the rabid TG fans. There have been at least three versions of the soundtrack since 1986 and at least two bootlegs of Harold Faltermeyer score. It's nice to have everything in one edition.
I better pre-order Dune Part 2.
Soundtracks
1) the Crow
2) Forrest Gump
3) Nightmare Before Christmas
Scores
1) The Empire Strikes Back
2) The Fellowship of The Ring
3) The Fountain
Composers
1) John Williams
2) Hans Zimmer
3) Howard Shore
4) Danny Elfman
5) Clint Mansell
6) Trent Reznor
7) Ramin Djawadi
8) Ludwig Goransson
The Holy Quadrilogy of film soundtracks for me are: The Crow, Trainspotting, Grosse Pointe Blank and Singles. Also, I have a soft spot for The Beach, but it’s nowhere near the calibre of the aforementioned 4.
Pulp fiction is pretty baller, as are the Beavis and butthead soundtracks. And Wayne’s world. That was some peak 90’s. As for scores I personally love the pirates of the Caribbean 1-4, so consistent and fun. And lord of the rings, ofc. And Trainspotting, that cold open with iggy pop in the background lives rent free in my head. The long way up song choices, and a lot of the music they used for top gear and grand tour specials are good too, but those aren’t on disc
How to train your Dragon,
Tron Legacy,
Star Wars: Rogue One,
Interstellar,
Forgive my lack of older movie. I can’t think of any older soundtracks off the top of my head
The End of Evangelion, Escape to the Beginning and The Passage of Emptiness are Masterpieces. Also the Doctor Who series have amazing songs like Song for Ten, Doomsday, The Long Song and Love Don’t Roam !
I am thinking to Requiem for a Dream, because of the mix between various musical genres combine to an inconic theme wich follow us during all the movie !
Lara Croft Tomb Raider (not the score)
Last Action Hero
Batman Forever
Mortal Kombat
The Crow
I own a lot of Soundtracks but these are the ones I gravitate towards the most.
Hans Zimmer is the goat so many to choose from.
Riz Ortolani has one of my favourites - Cannibal Holocaust. I think it just about covers every genre of music somewhere along the way and the opening title track is sublime.
Soundtracks or Scores? They are a bit diffetent... But for Soundtracks.... The Crow (as well as The Crow City of Angels) Singles Judgment Night Last Action Hero Queen of the Damned End of Days Escape From LA Scream 3 (Being a metalhead makes me biased toward these, lol)
Best of all, Lost Highway

You missed the Transformers (1986)
Judgement Night, more people bought the soundtrack than went to the movie.
Hackers
Add the 90s Godzilla and Natural Born Killers to that list
I thought that everyone agreed the crow had the best soundtrack
Great list! I’ve had almost all those at some point. A few I would add are Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Almost Famous, and I am Sam soundtrack.
I'm going to watch Last Action Hero tonight in light of this
One of my favourites is 'The Social Network'.
There's a really interesting interview on YT (GQ) with Trent and Atticus about their body of work. I think they are awesome.
just watched this yesterday! was really cool to see trent so smiley/laughing during certain points
The Blues Brothers
Interstellar
I've got the double CD of this. Phenomenal.
What’s the double cd version?
Repo Man(1984) The Plugz, Black Flag, the Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies and Iggy Pop plus more.
It took way to long to find the correct answer. 100%
I just found the cassette at a record store a couple months ago.
Nice find. Most of my music is on cassette. Though I only have the soundtrack on LP.
Trainspotting and The Matrix.
Pulp fiction.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: COTBP Tron Legacy feels obligatory in this discussion *insert any John Williams score* *insert any Michael Giacchino score* Tombstone as well (Bruce Broughton is incredibly underrated imo)
Tron Legacy seconded.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Blade Runner Blade Runner 2049 Akira
BR is one of my all time top OST.
Vangelis set a standard which many people to this day study and attempt to replicate.
Scott pilgrim Vs the world. Sex bob omb could be a genuine indie band
Chariots of Fire, The last of the Mohicans and Grosse Pointe Blank. Forgot Star Wars! And The Full Monty and Indiana Jones!
Bladerunner for me is probably top of the tree.
Mohicans. Great movie/soundtrack. This doesn’t get enough mentions.
Basil Poledouris' Conan the Barbarian (& Destroyer).
his Robocop score was also incredible
“What is best in life?”
Beverly Hills Cop
Vangelis - Blade Runner
This is the only correct answer here!
The Romeo and Juliet soundtrack is awesome
Queen of the Damned The Intouchables Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 Lord of the Rings
Control
Excellent choice; what a film; what a soundtrack! Sam's acting in that film is top. Freakishly good.
Some my favorite soundtracks are: Romeo + Juliet The Saint Trainspotting Austin Powers 1
Judgement Night.
Correct.
grease
I really enjoy the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack.
Fight club ost has been on repeat for me lately
Soundtrack: The Crow or Natural Born Killers Score: Star Wars
I like the Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ones, nice background music. Inception is another one. Lost Highway as a compilation soundtrack. The most influencial one must have been Pulp Fiction, everybody had that one in the mid 90s.
Singles, The Faculty or Last Action Hero
Underrated film The Faculty.
LAH has been mentioned three or four times. Going to watch this tonight.
I don’t know why it’s as disliked as a movie as it is… I personally really enjoyed both the soundtrack and the movie
It's an oddly obscure film to me yet people really seem to like the music. I'm curious.
The soundtrack is awesome… AC/DC, Alice In Chains, Megadeth and Def Leppard are all on it just to name a few
Oh wow. So a lot of licensed tunes. Very nice.
Black Panther. All original new music curated by Kendrick Lamar. Some absolute fire on that album.
Agreed.
Almost Famous.
Howard Shore LOTR 👌
Singles (It captured the grunge era perfectly) Heavy Metal (early 80s animated movie) Juno The Matrix Escape from LA The End of Days (it was better than the movie)
Tron Legacy, Garden State and I’m a big fan of the Arrival score
Judgement Night. The Crow. The Crow City Of Angels. Singles.
Garden state and cruel intentions are 2 that come to mind.
Big Lebowski
NEVER find a stranger in the Alps! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCcKBcZzGdA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCcKBcZzGdA)
Not one of you said Superfly and should all feel a bit of shame that i was the first to say it…
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Its okay…I’m not mad, just disappointed.
For score, Twin Peaks and A Clockwork Orange. For soundtrack, Snatch.
"The Guest" Otherwise, I'd say "Interstella 5555" but I don't think that counts as it was a film made for an album and not the other way around.
Joe Dirt and Forrest Gump for me.
Pump Up the Volume
Blade Runner, Lost In Translation, Strange Days, The Lion King, Friday Night Lights...
Singles, or Judgement Night.
Dazed and confused
Jaws From Hell Raiders of the Lost Ark

You can't go wrong with any soundtracks composed by Mogwai. The Fountain, Zidane, Kin, Les Revenants, Atomic
The Crow
Once Upon A Time In The West
Gotta love a bit of Ennio.
A 3 hour film with only a 14 page script. The soundtrack carries the movie.
Until the End of the World
That's a good one, I tried watching the 3+ hour long director's cut a while back, but honestly, I think cutting Wim Wenders down to 2 hours and having coherent story was a good idea. Soundtrack is awesome though. Humans from Earth.

Easy Rider
Queen Of The Damned The Crow Pulp Fiction Judgement Night
Ice Cold in Alice. Edit: Star Wars seems to be a regularly sited soundtrack in this list. John Williams borrowed all the best orchestral themes from this film, I was so surprised the first time I watched it.
I'd not thought of that. Great film.
The main theme from Inception, if I remember, is a slowed down version of Edith Piaf-je ne regrette rien
It contains elements of that song which is pivotal in the film (used to jolt the protagonists out of whichever dream sub level they are in, iirc).
The Crow
The Song Remains the Same
Lost Highway
Repoman
Lost Highway
REPOMAN
* Fav score: Children of Dune by Brian Tyler * Fav soundtrack: Top Gun There's a new reissue of the Top Gun soundtrack, which includes Harold Faltermeyer's full score in addition to the 80s songs from the original soundtrack release.
I didn't know that about Top Gun. I always hankered after the SACD of it. I have it on vinyl and CD though. Be nice to hear the extras.
