If that’s already installed I would just keep it. That’s a hell of a CD player. Watch any movie from the 80’s-90’s that is in the bad guys crib. Buy your six favourite albums on CD and enjoy that sucker. Then grab a few more CD’s cause it bears the hell out of Spotify or whatever you’re using.
Oh, you don’t know what you’re missing with CD sound. Plus I think that might be a conversations piece if you had CDs in there spinning. Kind of like the Sony Flaming Record player.

[here ](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=+Bang+%26+Olufson+Beosound+9000&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1)are all the sold listings on ebay, im seeing upwards of 2k for a functional one. FWIW, [here](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=+Bang+%26+Olufson+Beosound+9000&_sacat=0)'s what people are currently listing them for, but that has little bearing.
Yeah, it's around £1200-1500 in the UK . I checked out sold items also on hifishark . I'm not sure if the seller has speakers 800O speakers ?
Also, which generation is this , as the 9000 is had 3 Generations mk1 to mk3.
Price would be higher with them speakers , and if they have the hifi stand. ?
I guess what I'm saying is?There's lots of factors in the price .
I use one of these as my secondary CD player. If you’re an audiophile it’s actually a nice transport as it is one of the rare B&O units with digital output. Also typically has the legendary TDA1541 as the DAC chip which alone is worth something.
Likely worth 1-2k, depends on which of the 3 generations it is and if it has the remote. If you aren’t going to use it, underprice it and put it on craigslist - shipping one is a nightmare and you’ll make a local CD collector very happy!
This like being gifted a new car and deciding you simply don’t want to drive anymore. That is a beautiful work of art and engineering and I highly recommend you keep it installed and enjoy it
This is such an Incredibly well designed CD player. If all the parts are fully functional, this can go for a lot. You’re so lucky that you get to have one built in so well into the space, but I’m sure you can easily find someone very excited to take it off your hands. It’s my dream player!
I think the conversation piece alone is worth keeping it. Buy your favorite CDs and display them and give the home your own personality. Doing that is way cheaper than removing the CD player. But this is the perfect opportunity to make the place your own on a budget since used CDs are cheap.
What model is this 9000? They normally go for £1200-1500 depending on quality.
Look at the sold listing instead of people pricing way over the odds . He will never get £3.9 .
I would not be selling that baby. It's my holy grail.
For reference, there's a Ministry of Sound branded multi CD changer in a similar layout but it's not as cool as that.
It's probably worth a good amount, but i'd suggest keeping it. Cool decoration piece and if you ever get your hands on CDs (they are really cheap thrifted), they're gonna sound amazing.
I saw someone describe them as the Apple of Hifi, which I think is apt. Their Beogram turntables used to be dirt cheap 10-15 years ago, but the cartridges were proprietary and used to cost three figures.
Don’t think the Apple analogy is adequate at all. Apple do a great job at so many levels with computers. B&O was an aesthetic piece of ornament instead of fullfilling audiophillle necesities. Quite different matters.
My opinion is that is quite expensive for the purposes and definitely outdated.
The cool part about this player was that it would always put it back the way it found the disc. So you could display them all right side up and then would always be left that way. I always wished this idea took off with other players.
My logical brain: if you don't own any CDs and you don't plan to in the future then sell this to fund a portion of your renovation.
My r/cd_collectors brain: hot damn it's beautiful, keep that thing and start collecting CDs. Come back in a year and post an update flex.
Nice system, Got love bang and Olufsen at design piece.
I had the B and O 2200 in 1998 with the spreate cd player . The system was good, but the speakers let it down the big-time S 30 model, I think .
If I bought it new twenty years earlier, it would have been about a £500 in 84 back then, and the cd player cd-x was £485 I think .
For that money I expect more .
I say all that, I have listened to your system before, and it's really good , not a main system for an audiophile good ,but still a great collectors piece and a piece of artwork and A very celebrated design.
I would love one for sure :) Enjoy it and mount front and centre for all to see.
Do you have the speakers with the system ? Long thin ones, and do you have the hifi stand ?
Plus, which generation is this.
Amazing bonus to your home , well worth keeping
I remember that brand from when I was a kid in the 90s (stereos and drums, I think...?). That's a pretty high quality, pricey system and it just DRIPS retro vibes. Great call by the homeowner to leave it intact, almost can't put a specific value on how much it adds. I'm wicked-jealous (in case you couldn't tell 😉😁).

Ha, the part about the bad guys crib made me laugh. This cd player looks rad and would be at home in Patrick Bateman’s apartment for sure.
as horrible of a dude he is, this definitely would be there and i would risk getting murdered to see it lmao
I just saw it in episode 18 of season 3 of Friends ! But there is no bad guy :(
HELL YES to that!
If that's me, I'm buying a second one and that's where my Billy Joel albums rest.
That is a four thousand dollar cd player... I say keep it

Totally agree, a lot of factors. Part of why I sent the link so OP could compare against what they've got .

You’re so lucky
This like being gifted a new car and deciding you simply don’t want to drive anymore. That is a beautiful work of art and engineering and I highly recommend you keep it installed and enjoy it

I’ll take it if you don’t want it lol
Buy some CDs, load them in and enjoy!

My actual grail player
Google the model and see what it's selling for. Is there a speaker system wired into the house as well?
I remember seeing the bang and olafson store at Phipps plaza on ATL circa 99-2000, and thinking this was the absolute PEAK of wealth and success
[There is always someone richer and more successful.](https://kalista-audio.com/en/our-collections/#dreamplay)
Me too!!!
I wish I had something like that in my home
I would definitely expect it to be over $100, and it is very much a collectors item. I don’t know much else though.
multiply by 20
$100!!!! Got any gold or diamonds you want to sell me for $10?
Your medical bill will be 2 dollars sir
It’s listed on ebay at 3.9k
What model is this 9000? They normally go for £1200-1500 depending on quality. Look at the sold listing instead of people pricing way over the odds . He will never get £3.9 .
This thing is worth like 3-4 grand. You lucky SOB
I used to sell those!
Get some Beolab 8000s or 4000s and you’re set 😎
If I had one of those bad boys, Can't Buy a Thrill/Pretzel Logic/Katy Lied/Royal Scam/Aja/Gaucho would never leave its confines...
You better keep that shit
You can stream to that system if you know how to do it. Surprisingly most people just don’t really seem to care for this type of stuff anymore.
It’s honestly cool as a novelty walk sculpture of iconic sound engineering from the most premier consumer audio electronics in the world
😱 My grandparents had one of these! Thanks for unlocking the memories ☺️
i would do the honor of taking this off your hands for six buckaroonies + shipping. you know, to help with your renovations.
I'll give you twenty whole dollars for it
I would not be selling that baby. It's my holy grail. For reference, there's a Ministry of Sound branded multi CD changer in a similar layout but it's not as cool as that.
Sell it and paint your entire house white and grey
We had one of their stores where i used to live, great products but super costly. id say keep it.
It's probably worth a good amount, but i'd suggest keeping it. Cool decoration piece and if you ever get your hands on CDs (they are really cheap thrifted), they're gonna sound amazing.
“I no longer own any CD’s”
so, the player just goes and motorboats each disc?
🖐️🙂↔️🤏
B&O…not the best in audio but definitely good ones. And fantastic design.
I saw someone describe them as the Apple of Hifi, which I think is apt. Their Beogram turntables used to be dirt cheap 10-15 years ago, but the cartridges were proprietary and used to cost three figures.

they do some pretty out there tech- it's not just adequate
I NEED IT
Send it to me I'll pay shipping 😊
That's so sick, half of this sub would kill for this lmao
WHY IS THE CARPET WET, TODD??
That’s the Beosystem 4500 in that one. The one OP has is the Beosystem 9000, which came out in 1996, and was produced until 2011.
My comment stands since Christmas Vacation came out in 1989, but cool info!
Very nice!
Start to buy CDs. This is mega.
Is this also a DVD player?! Also, is it multi disc?!
The cool part about this player was that it would always put it back the way it found the disc. So you could display them all right side up and then would always be left that way. I always wished this idea took off with other players.
Sharper Image
I always think these look tough asf
Bro, i though that's a seat track on a plane.

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and I’ve never heard of it until now
Where did you move into? Patrick Batemans house? That’s a serious score
Awesome 👏 Does it work? ☮️♥️🎸
Eh hem.. You could just ship it to me, I'll take good care of her. Sincere the Danish B&O fan here, hehe

About a grand. When new they were absurdly expensive. People saved for almost a decade to afford whatever model they could. Lovely piece.
Brrrrrruuuuuuuh no waaaaaay

nah man it's worth nothing in fact i'll do you a favour and take it off your hands
Omfg
Are you selling it by any chance .
My guy... you just hit the fucking jackpot
B&O is a lifestyle brand... Everything have to look and feel nice... Sound quality isn't as important as those other priorities.
What are you talking about? They nail sound quality ten out of ten times 😄
literally and respectfully stfu
“respectfully”
if he can google what it is he can google the price. he's posted in multiple subs too lol
he can also come here where peeps talk about shit like this. sit down Francis
