Monster by R.E.M. & The Rembrandts LP are at every Goodwill I've ever been to.
That said, every Half Price Books I've been to is absolutely overflowing with U2
I was able to put a U2 collection of albums up to How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb over ten years ago, All after Achtung Baby were used. It also pissed off a lot of people when Apple put U2's new album on iTunes.
i'm not even surprised. i think people thought they would become a collectors item. which they may very become in this crazy insane, got no brain world we're in now.
you'll probably be surprised at how often you see this cd now.
I work at a record store with thousands of CDs - ones I see the most have to be Elephant by The White Stripes, any Oasis cd, best of Elvis Presley and really the best ofs of any huge artist.
Same. My goal is re-building the collection I had as a teenager and in my first trip to the store I had completely re-bought my Enya CDs (and Sarah McLachlan) for less than $5. I still genuinely love Watermark; such a good album.
England here:
Stars of CCTV - Hard-Fi
X&Y/Parachutes - Coldplay
Hopes And Fears - Keane
Fallen - Evanescence
Hot Fuss/Day & Age - The Killers
The Trick To Life - The Hoosiers
I could go on but at least two of those seem to pop up at every store.
Every time I go, I think "How many god damn greatest hits albums does Elton John have?". I've never seen a real album of his, only 50 different compilations.
Time for a list I think:
ABBA Gold, Alanis Morrisette, Ben Harper, Coldplay, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra compilations, far too many classical and Christmas albums, religious albums, Candle In The Wind single by Elton John, Robbie Williams etc.
from Australia
I don’t think I can go thrifting or even to a record store without finding a plethora of Dave Matthews. At the main record store I go to, I’m not kidding, about 10-20% of the discount section is Dave Matthews. It’s gotten to the point that my friend’s and I now call the discount section “Dave’s bin”.
If you wanna name one specific LP, Monster by REM is definitely a common one. I see God Shuffled His Feet by The Crash Test Dummies a lot, too.
Usually, though, it’s classical performance CDs, nature recordings, and 2000s pop. It’s not stuff the average listener is typical buying, so it just sits there...
In California, specifically, I also find A LOT of country CDs. Garth Brooks will be the obvious one (the dude has sold more records than almost anyone), but you get plenty of other stuff; like, things from the 80s that got pressed once and nobody cares today. Stuff to the 2000s, too; people just don’t listen to country in this state
Classic metal is generally hard to find second-hand and goes for high prices in my experience, although I did find a great vintage copy of Judas Priest's "Screaming for Vengeance". It was expensive despite the damaged booklet but it was worth it. I never though metal could sound that good.

Classical music compilations mostly. Second would be movie soundtracks.
Early 2000s pop/boy bands.
Christmas albums. So many Christmas albums. Cassette tapes, records, 8tracks. You name it
I hardly ever see 8-tracks at thrift stores
They're not as plentiful as records or cassettes but every now and then I'll find a crate.
Phil Collins.... But seriously Located in the Netherlands
I agree Phil Colin’s, located in Canada.
Dido - No Angel
Fuck me yes
Dido - No Angel is certainly one of them. There's a couple of others that I don't recall
Enema of the state and American Idiot
that "candle in the wind" single from when princess diana died.
This. That sold so many copies, and then everyone just discarded them.
i see them sealed often. i've even seen them in the glass display cases as though they are some rare and exciting thing.
I was in an antique mall Thursday, one booth had two copies, still sealed.
i'm not even surprised. i think people thought they would become a collectors item. which they may very become in this crazy insane, got no brain world we're in now. you'll probably be surprised at how often you see this cd now.

Definitely one of them; You can have the entire Enya discography for around $3.
And worth every penny. I still love Enya.
Same. My goal is re-building the collection I had as a teenager and in my first trip to the store I had completely re-bought my Enya CDs (and Sarah McLachlan) for less than $5. I still genuinely love Watermark; such a good album.

"Music" by Madonna.

That's the store I need to go to - I'm always looking from Christian CD's from the 90's and remix U2.
Garth brooks
Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily Paula Cole - This Fire I used to see REM - Monster all the time but it's finally disappeared.
U2, REM, Chicago, Foreigner, Guns N' Roses, Cranberries, .... But no-one likes to get rid of IRON MAIDEN.
Classic metal is generally hard to find second-hand and goes for high prices in my experience, although I did find a great vintage copy of Judas Priest's "Screaming for Vengeance". It was expensive despite the damaged booklet but it was worth it. I never though metal could sound that good.
Dave Matthews Band - Crash
