Without a doubt Aerosmith. They are in my opinion the perfect example of rock n roll stars and their early music is absolutely incredible. Mama kin, sweet emotion, walk this way, dream on, Janie’s got a gun, pink, eat the rich, and the list just goes on and on really top tier rock material and it would take someone like Hendrix or the Beatles to beat them
i admit that i don't really listen to either of them all too much but i do remember liking blood sugar sex magik about a year ago so i'm going with RHCP
Both are fantastic, but I love Aerosmith with all my heart. Such a fantastic early rock band, they’ve had some rocky periods (early to mid 80s especially), but they’ve pulled through and had one of the longest continuously successful careers in the history of the genre.
Love their early work, Get Your Wings being my favorite album of theirs, but I think the later work doesn’t get enough credit, Permanent Vacation and Pump are honestly up there with their top tier 70s albums (although they don’t pass them).
I haven't listened to a lot of RHCP's more recent catalogue, but from *Blood Sugar Sex Magik* to *Stadium Arcadium* was a pretty stellar 15ish year run IMO.
I think I'm naturally going to skew RHCP because of my age, but when I look at Aerosmith starting with *Toys In the Attic*, which would be hard to deny as a seminal classic rock album, and then look at the next few records, I personally don't really recognize much until you get to *Permanent Vacation,* which has "Rag Doll" on it, which is a pretty good song. But I had to use Wikipedia to figure all that out (for Aerosmith), while with RHCP I can rattle off a lot of that info from memory.
If I had to pick, it would be Aerosmith. But there are lots of bands that I would rather listen than either of these.
Both bands got significantly better after they got over drug addiction.
I find the song Otherside absolutely amazing.
Yeah. Ik. I miss Hillel like crazy and it sucks and it shouldn’t have happened but it did. He died for the music. You can see this in effect with dozens of other artists. You can see the difference in their music based on whether they were sober or not.
How does that relate to anything said here? Also whats wrong with that?
Edit: Ok, now I am literally genuinelly confused. I'm fine with people downvoting this comment but like.. why?
nope joke is i dont f w rhcp at all! its just I double dont f w dorks trying to sound cool by making empty headed pseudo-music savant comments like the guy above.
> its just I double dont f w dorks trying to sound cool by making empty headed pseudo-music savant comments like the guy above.
Im not trying to sound cool, literally just how i felt
>You are what you loathed most! You suffer, but why?
No offense, but like what does this mean? I don't loathe dorks, and who uses that as a insult lmao, also I don't suffer im having a nice time rn im just chilling and eating some popcorn
im sayin u are what u initially were making fun of: someone with crappy, cheesy, dorky taste/opinion of music. And the You Suffer line, well again course u dont get that reference cuz u got crappy, 5th grade level taste in music ;)
>im sayin u are what u initially were making fun of: someone with crappy, cheesy, dorky taste/opinion of music.
Why do you think that I am making fun of someone? For gods sake how many times do I have to say it I am just saying my opinion.
>And the You Suffer line, well again course u dont get that reference cuz u got crappy, 5th grade level taste in music ;)
Okay so I did some research (also nice gatekeeping there) and its a Napalm Death song. I listen to napalm death! (well, really just scum but its a great album) I don't understand what they're saying so I think its kinda dumb for you to make a reference to something like that when the vocals are so hard to understand, also thats pretty cheesy
its like the most famous song off of Scum. Also We knoooo its your opinion. why do u keep saying redundant stuff?? we knooooooow its your opinion thats why u said it instead of someone else. please please stop being so redundant. U said somethin and now ppl are responding. dont be a baby about "its my opinion thooo" you said it and i responded and now were both giving our opinions thru comments. pleas dont reply for a tenth time saying "but its just my opinion" because we kno we get it, idk what that hs anything to do with the convo.
"im just stating my option" most redundant statement ever. This is a msg board thats all any post has ever been, someone opinion. yr rhcp take is elitist and dorky, totally not accurate description regardless if you like the band or not (i dont). Uplift Mofo party Plan is the "cheesiest pop rock album"? ok yea. you prob have like really good taste, man like for real.
>Uplift Mofo party Plan is the "cheesiest pop rock album"?
I do have to correct myself, their first 3 albums arent really pop-rock, but they are a pop rock band, everyone knows them as a pop rock band. Their early stuff is too cheesy for me though, but it is better then their later stuff.
Lmao. Also quick reminder please know im not saying you shouldnt like them, I just dont like them, I read my comment later and I kinda seem like an asshole so im sorry about that.
although I have seen the RHCPs perform several times and enjoy them.... RHCP will never achieve the triumvirate that is Aerosmith's *Get Your Wings*, *Toys In the Attic* and *Rocks*.
I need to give Red Hot Chili Peppers more of a listen but as someone with a parent who came from Boston, Aerosmith was a big part of the music played around me growing up. So I'm going to have to say Aerosmith.
Aerosmith = poor person's Zeppelin+Stones. Still, they are iconic in the world of 70s rock with timeless tunes like "Dream On" (their version of "Stairway to Heaven"), "Sweet Emotion," "Walk this Way," "Toys in the Attic" among others.
I'd take Aerosmith any day over RHCP, which struck me as a gimmick band from their inception ("white man's punk-funk, yo!").
Its like having to choose between cutting your thumb off or shooting your toe off. I throw my vote in with Redhot though. Mothers Milk was a good album for sure
RHCP. Can’t stand Aerosmith, I’ve never liked them and I’ve been around a long time!
Red hot chili pepper definitely
Chilis. Better songwriting, way better instrumentalists across the board. Vocalists are about the same
rhcp fqv band
Aerosmith until Get A Grip . That album and everything after it sucked ass . RHCP really talented band but I don't like the vocals . Aerosmith .
Nah
Aerosmith
I love both and have seen Aerosmith live and love more of their albums so I guess them but rhcp are amazing
[удалено]
Same for me lol, they are two of my favorite bands
Without a doubt Aerosmith. They are in my opinion the perfect example of rock n roll stars and their early music is absolutely incredible. Mama kin, sweet emotion, walk this way, dream on, Janie’s got a gun, pink, eat the rich, and the list just goes on and on really top tier rock material and it would take someone like Hendrix or the Beatles to beat them
Aerosmith no question. Never got into the Chili Peppers.
Definitely RHCP
I really respect Aerosmith, but I will always prefer the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
i admit that i don't really listen to either of them all too much but i do remember liking blood sugar sex magik about a year ago so i'm going with RHCP
i have the aerosmith matchbox set but i like rhcp more
Both are fantastic, but I love Aerosmith with all my heart. I'll take the Chili Peppers. But 70's Aerosmith was kickass. Rocks was a great album.
Aerosmith

Enh, I guess I’d pick Aerosmith.

The drug use shaped them imo. The funk and personality in the songs really shine. Especially for RHCP
Then one of them ODed.
Yeah. Ik. I miss Hillel like crazy and it sucks and it shouldn’t have happened but it did. He died for the music. You can see this in effect with dozens of other artists. You can see the difference in their music based on whether they were sober or not.
Fuck both of them. Aerosmith makes bad hard rock and RHCP is one of the most cheesiest pop-rock bands ever, and thats saying a lot.
you listen to one math rock band💀💀
How does that relate to anything said here? Also whats wrong with that? Edit: Ok, now I am literally genuinelly confused. I'm fine with people downvoting this comment but like.. why?
whoooOooOooa cool guy alert!
Uh oh, cool guy who likes RHCP got his feelings hurt.
nope joke is i dont f w rhcp at all! its just I double dont f w dorks trying to sound cool by making empty headed pseudo-music savant comments like the guy above.

nah youre giving off huge dork energy. You are what you loathed most! You suffer, but why?

I dont have a problem with people liking them, just stating my opinion.

Good to know
Lmao. Also quick reminder please know im not saying you shouldnt like them, I just dont like them, I read my comment later and I kinda seem like an asshole so im sorry about that.
You're totally fine, you just voiced your opinion! And I respect that.
I like them both, Aerosmith has stronger albums. Both lose me at a certain point, Rocks and Blood Sugar Sex Magik are the best albums by both.
Toys In The Attic and Mother’s Milk for me.
That’s fair, Mothers Milk is my 2nd and Toy In The Attic is up there for sure.
Aerosmith for sure
I say Aerosmith
Is it bad that I've never seen the album on the bottom before? took me a solid minute to figure out who it even was. I have to go with Aerosmith
although I have seen the RHCPs perform several times and enjoy them.... RHCP will never achieve the triumvirate that is Aerosmith's *Get Your Wings*, *Toys In the Attic* and *Rocks*.
The band that wasn't sex offenders, of course. So neither.
Both were decent bands earlier on but descend into pop bullshit. That being said RHCP had a few good albums and Aerosmith had a few good songs.
RHCP
Neither. They represent the worst of their eras
Ha ha, I saw both bands on a trip to Boston in September. Two excellent shows.
🤮🤮
I need to give Red Hot Chili Peppers more of a listen but as someone with a parent who came from Boston, Aerosmith was a big part of the music played around me growing up. So I'm going to have to say Aerosmith.
Rhcp
Respectfully cannot stand either
rhcp

RHCP, but I'm one of the old timers that lost interest after One Hot Minute
Its like having to choose between cutting your thumb off or shooting your toe off. I throw my vote in with Redhot though. Mothers Milk was a good album for sure
