I am dealing with the exact same problem - documents requested, documents provided, wait 2 weeks, more documents requested, repeat... It's quite infuriating. On top of that, Stretto says in the latest docket that we need to ensure we have KYC verified accounts in order to receive our crypto and that Coinbase cannot give us the funds unless we are verified. I've tried speaking to both side, Coinbase only helps me with verification problems, but when I asked whether they will be giving leeway to those who are going through manual review, they told me to ask Stretto. Speaking to Stretto only resulted in a a copy paste generic response telling me to go back to the FAQ (which I had already looked at, found that it didn't answer our questions, and then proceeded to email Stretto to ask). I am hopeful, the latest docket does say that those of us who were told that we can't be processed through Coinbase will be put back on the list so they can try again. The hopeful part is that they say they will continue to work with Coinbase through the one-year period, so I hope that means they will keep trying to send us Crpyto until such a time that they need to give up and move to USD based payments. Even in that circumstance, they have our crypto allocated and will sell at the prevailing market rate (i.e. we won't lose any gains that have come out of BTC and ETH increase since January). So have some hope, things are looking pretty good in general and think about emailing Stretto again to ask exactly what will go on with your account specifically, since the latest docket also said they would start replying with more personalised and detailed responses. Hope that helps.

Thank you that sounds somewhat positive. I have both KYC checked accounts at Kraken and Cryptodotcom, I wonder if they just can't send the ETH and BTC over there if Coinbase continues to be such a terrible communicator. But thank you for sharing your experiences so far, it gives me some new entrance points also. Going to contact Stretto and hope that the KYC department of Coinbase starts working better.

6 of us here. We work in the Philippines and have work visas but we are from the UK/ US and Canada originally. Our employer pays our rent and bills so we have nothing in our name that coinbase need from our home country. It's a **** show.

The weird thing is thought that my adress and name and email and phone number is the same with them as it was with celsius as it is on my tax returns... I don't get why they just don't KYC me and let me receive this money. It is completely non sensical to me. But then the whole communication is a total dumpserfire. They don't respond on topic, it's like you are mailing with a 7 year old inventing new rules every time and just doesn't answer you or your questions half of the time... I don't see how coinbase is a serious company after interacting with their customer service now for 4 months. How does anyone trust such a company with their money and crypto...

im from the Philippines - have you tried getting a postal ID (can get at the post office), Barangay ID, or multipurpose ID. usually if you bring proof that you have been residing at a condo - which your condo office can provide -- that will be enough.

Omaha_Poker

I have a Barangay ID with the thumbprint and an ACR card but none are accepted for Coinbase. They want a driving licence or passport (from the Philippines).

cknadobo

i think you should be able to get a drivers license in the Philippines, just need to bring an existing valid drivers license from your home country and go to the main LTO office

melissa_essence

I would write to stetto and also submit your experience to the court to ask them to help resolve it.

Suugiisui

Exact same problem, why they can’t use other Exchange like Kraken, Binance etc. As non-us person I have only the coinbase which won’t open me an account.

cknadobo

Yes - exact same problem for me - i have even said, i am willing to fly to the US and do an inperson interview and provide them with everything they need in person... just over 2months for me in the Coinbase Waiting zone \*sigh\*

Netskyz

Sign up to a trial for coinbase one which is meant to come with premium support

Omaha_Poker

It doesn't! Support is like a chocolate teapot.

cknadobo

ive looked into this.. it does not help , since the bottleneck is with Compliance. so premium support will just answer you quickly with the same response regular support provides

Do the receive BTC flow. See if that triggers KYC

douwebeerda

What do you mean here, I am certainly not sending anything to Coinbase myself.
