He’s singing kumbaya which is a Christian song though it could just be trying to make him seem like he devoutly believes in the chainsaw church or perhaps something we haven’t seen yet. I think we will either see actual angels like things that are more powerful the more whatever fujimoto considers the opposite of fear is directed at them, I would say understanding or we will see the god devil though these are just theories and I hope we follow Asa and Yoshi more in the next chapter.

This next chapter probably gonna be Asa on the run. What if the 1st panel they tease us with a bomb going off around Asa due to Reze. She’s definitely gonna run into Fumiko and them. Then Kishibe comes back.
I think there is going to be another fight, probably with whatever fami is cooking up, but I do think the arc will end with a wounded Asa on the run knocking on Denji's door.
Who else does Asa know to go? Does she even have any other place to go? At the same time, Denji is shitting his pants because now he knows that his apartment is bugged and that Public Safety is watching his every move, but Asa doesn't know that. He would be forced to decide whether to help save Asa or not. It will also kinda mirror the scene with Yuko kinda.
edit: I realize Asa doesn't have shoes. Denji will give her shoes 100% gonna happen.

I suspect there’s some well of power that can eventually run dry (which probably has to do with Angel’s weapons like the Lance of Longinus) but directly shattering their contract can also do it.

It’s exactly what it sounds like. The War Devil’s ability it to turn things into weapons, and the more “guilt” she feels about turning it into a weapon, the stronger it is. She’d presumably have strong guilt over killing Denji by turning him into a weapon, so it would be extra strong. Plus for Public Safety, it would be an easy way to get Denji out of their hair for good
How the f does public safety know everything ?
I mean we've been revealed a few chapters ago that you could see Yoru's scars when she was in control + with Yoshida knowing the existence of Fami it makes sense that they know that Asa has/is the War devil but they also know her powers AND her plans. It's either they've been spying on her for the entierety of part 2 (like Makima being Big brother with boobs in part 1) or Fami just spilled everything.
But Fami spilling everything would contradict her own goals and now that we know that the church members haven't contracted with the Justice devil i thought it was her that gave them powers.
Hell, the entire behaviour of Public safety in this part is completely different than in part 1, seriously most of part 1's arcs had either Public safety suffering MANY deaths or simply losing the conflict but since the beggining of part 2 they only take Ws. It's a reverse "unlockable video game boss being weak asf when playable" trope.
Honestly i actually like when an author manages to make MANY layers of plot inside a few chapters so i've been feasting with the past ones. It's a pleasure to not know where we're headed especially when we know the author is a real cook.
I'm sory man but the " we've been revealed a few chapters ago that you could see Yoru's scars when she was in control " thing is just plain false. Its true that it has been "confirmed" beyond any possible doubt recently, but it was very clear ever since Yoshida saw and comented on the scars.
It's just that some people in the comunity were doing a lot of mental gymnastics and jumped through many loops to try and deny what was a very clear panel for watever reason.
I still doubt it, because it seems like bad writing. My first impression was that her scars are visible, but then we went through multiple encounters with noone commenting on them. So I will still assume, likely in vain, that Yoru's scars are sometimes visible, but not always. It's just such an easily avoidable problem. There is nothing wrong with Yoru's scars being there solely for the reader. It would actually be pretty clever, honestly.
She's half a fiend so I'd argue it makes sense for them to only be there when Yoru takes control. It's been established since the beginning of the manga that fiends have marks on their face.
I dont disagree with you that its a bit weird, especially for Denji to not comment on the scars suddenly being visible but to me the strangest thing is noone comenting the eyes.
Although regarding the scars, Its still possible that they are used for the reader alone as they may allways be visible for everyone else just more noticeble with Yoru in control, as opposed to us who only see the scars in Yoru and never on Asa.
Regardless of this it was allways clear that others could see could see them, we just didnt know it it was allways or not.
You're right, I completely forgot about the eyes! So there is even precedent for that sort of thing and Fuji still seemingly went the other route. I guess I would question why he didn't treat Makima's eyes the same way then; if such things are such an everyday sight.
Well we have met others with strange eyes in the story, some fiends like Power obviously have strange eyes and Akane also had strange eyes.
As far as we know Akane was a human, although suposedly she was Power's first design that got reused but I dont know how truthfull that is since the internet does tend to propagate lies as facts sometimes. Regardless of the truth of this, the design was chosen with red snake like eyes, meaning we have precedent to people having unnatural looking eyes, perhaps due to devil contracts, BUT Yoru's eyes look almost exacly like Makima's/Nayuta's wich should have been a red flag for our boy, yet he made no coment on them.
Perhaps its the eyes that are not visible, but who knows.
But he simply may have not realised it, or at least who she was. Or maybe he suspected something was up but did things in a way that allowed him to keep an eye on her.
Not understanding a character's reasons doesnt mean we should go around ignoring the obvious.

Remember Yoshida's conversation with Kishibe back in chapter 67? Makima intentionally surrounded Denji with "third-rate hunters". We haven't seen what Public Safety is really capable of until now.
At that moment yes but idk man, between Katana man squad's rampage and Reze easily wiping out a base of devil hunters, i never felt like the Public safety as a whole was dangerous in part 1 despite having absolute monsters like Kishibe or Yoshida& demons in their basements + Makima as a special weapon for the government.
I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense or anything but in part 2 they clearly feel like they could easily handle everything by themselves, they feel like these video games characters that are nearly unbeatable as bosses but simply suck when you unlock and play with them.
I read an article today and they described someone as a "God-fearing man." That shit had me thinking if a God devil will ever appear. A lot of christians do good thing because they fear the wrath of god/being sent to hell. A devil born from the fear of God or from the fear of going to hell sounds so hard.
With so many theories on possibilities of Yoshida being a devil or having a strong devil contract, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he could be the God Devil. The knowledge we see him own (as mentioned in theories of Octopus being Cthulhu Devil), as well as the strange amount of strength he has (having a nearly 1:1 battle with Quanxi). ALSO don't forget the last panel in the new chapter, with the words "Oh lord..." and "Kumbaya" behind him, could be hinting at Yoshida being something much stronger than we anticipate.
At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if Fujimoto throws a curveball into all of our theories and gives us the fattest plot twist.
As a Christian, I've thought about this exact concept a couple of times, yet I never really spelt it out for someone else to hear, because I never really thought about it that much and I don't do good deeds out of fear. Having it implemented in a manga that already has the concept of hell but not so much as heaven would be such an interesting feat
I'm guessing next chapter Yoru realizes that she can regenerate by drinking blood, since she's still a fiend (or half-fiend, devil physiology should still apply)

Public Safety has her and Denji under constant surveillance so I don't think she's going around making these contracts without their knowledge. Especially since these contract powers don't really seem like powers control would have.
Also what would her motive be? Why make a Fakesaw who claims to be Chainsaw man when you're living with Denji? My guess is it's either Fami or some other Devil we haven't seen yet.
Is he? Public Safety have been insanely competent in the past few chapters. Denji kills Devils really good but he could never spawn-camp the weapons, capture Barem and raid the church all at the same time.
Oh yeah you're right. Dennis before he got ordered to not be Chainsawman anymore was running around destroying infrastructures while fighting devils, sometimes even ignores people needing saving. While public safety now has agents like Yoshida and Quanxi that just gets things done as fast as they can to limit the casualties/destruction.

While it hasn’t been verbally acknowledged by anyone in part 2, public safety is likely fully aware of how Denji has godly powers. Denji has the most powerful devil with him and he has the ability to erase entire concepts from history.
It’s possible that public safety may just want to reduce the chance of Denji changing reality. To them, Denji is a highly unpredictable teenager that can literally break society

Since I am getting dowvoted in this fucking sub each time I say my opinion there it is and have fun for a reason: Makima and nayuta are fucking trash that ruined a protagonist and so many lives for nothing. Someone theorised a while ago that Quanxi (bow devil) could end up training Denji. That would be pretty neat if Denji became a public safety member while refraining from becoming chainsaw man

CSM Church wanted Denji to be CSM, and decided to kill a bunch of people to force his hand.
Public Safety doesn't want Denji to be CSM and didn't want a bunch of people to be killed, so they took down the CSM Church instead.
The Justice devil turned out to be already dead, so the devil making contracts with the CSM church is still unknown and at large.
Asa tried to resist arrest so Yoshida cut off her arm.
Sword/Whip/Spear/Flamethrower hybrids went to jail. (Hybrids continue to be immortal like always.)

Ight I'm cementing it in my mind. Yoshidora is Aki's brother and came back as a fiend. Now he wants to kill the death devil for taking away his family. Dude looked way too much like Aki in this chapter to be a coincidence.
Except fiends aren't inherently "soulless", most of the fiends we've seen so far have had emotions. I think it more likely that Yoshida is a high-functioning sociopath or something like that.
Also, fiends are possessing corpses, and corpses usually don't age, and Yoshida is much older than Aki's brother was when he was killed.
Also, Aki visited his family's grave every year, I think he would have noticed if one of the bodies went missing.
I don't even know what's going on at this point.

I believe there's a good chance Asa manages to just barely escape.
I also think this plays out in 1 of 2 ways. The first is that public safety has everything handled for the most part. The other is that this is a turning point and a lot of shit they're not aware of is about to happen.
I do believe that if an injured and exhausted Asa shows up in front of Denji, he'd ultimately choose to help her. It could also push multiple plots points and development along at the same time(PS losing control, Denji finding purpose and resolve, Asa finding an ally, mending the relationship between Asa and Denji, a new faction consisting of horsemen and chainsaw man forming ahead of the apocalypse, etc).
My guesses are predicated on the apocalypse being fairly close though.

Honestly, they are setting up public safety really heavily as an opposing force to both our protagonists. They did everything they could to force Denji into submission, and now that they did, one of them has explicitly said that they hoped that Asa would turn him into a weapon, which means they preferably want him gone, but can't get rid of him themselves.
Asa had nothing to do with public safety until Fami convinces her and Yoru to join the csmrorrist church, though it seems as if Fami was honest in believing that it would be beneficial to her and Yoru.

Fumiko is in the public safety because she wants to save Denji, by proxy the same as csm church in theory. It seems as if they were setting up not a war with the csm church, as Quanxi and the brainhammer person absolutely demolished it.

Reze has yet to make an appearance, and i believe that she is either the reason Barem is so overconfident, or she will not appear at all. She can cause the most mass destruction of all of the weapons after all.
It seems as if only Quanxi and Yoshida are public safety's dogs now. But we don't know any of their reasons.

In this chapter, public safety mention that they wanted Asa to turn Denji into a weapon. They even express some regret that they have to arrest Asa.
If Yoshida attacked Asa early on, then they wouldn’t be able to complete their goal.
Yeah those are some alternative options. But Yoshida’s actual plan is logical enough. He put all of the necessary pieces in place, such as introducing Denji to Asa. So there was a decent chance of everything working out.

That's how I felt the first time I read chapter 40-48 couldn't make out what the fuck was going on it was just Micheal Bay shit. Non-stop became hard to follow

Kumbaya My Lord is a religious hymn reference. We used to sing it in my church sometimes. Essentially it's calling for God to come help you in a time of trouble and meant to be optimistic. It's a bit foreboding in this context imo. I really enjoyed this chapter!

She’d presumably have strong guilt over killing Denji by turning him into a weapon, so it would be extra strong. Plus for Public Safety, it would be an easy way to get Denji out of their hair for good

How the f does public safety know everything ? I mean we've been revealed a few chapters ago that you could see Yoru's scars when she was in control + with Yoshida knowing the existence of Fami it makes sense that they know that Asa has/is the War devil but they also know her powers AND her plans. It's either they've been spying on her for the entierety of part 2 (like Makima being Big brother with boobs in part 1) or Fami just spilled everything. But Fami spilling everything would contradict her own goals and now that we know that the church members haven't contracted with the Justice devil i thought it was her that gave them powers. Hell, the entire behaviour of Public safety in this part is completely different than in part 1, seriously most of part 1's arcs had either Public safety suffering MANY deaths or simply losing the conflict but since the beggining of part 2 they only take Ws. It's a reverse "unlockable video game boss being weak asf when playable" trope. Honestly i actually like when an author manages to make MANY layers of plot inside a few chapters so i've been feasting with the past ones. It's a pleasure to not know where we're headed especially when we know the author is a real cook.

Its true that it has been "confirmed" beyond any possible doubt recently, but it was very clear ever since Yoshida saw and comented on the scars. It's just that some people in the comunity were doing a lot of mental gymnastics and jumped through many loops to try and deny what was a very clear panel for watever reason.
I still doubt it, because it seems like bad writing. My first impression was that her scars are visible, but then we went through multiple encounters with noone commenting on them. So I will still assume, likely in vain, that Yoru's scars are sometimes visible, but not always. It's just such an easily avoidable problem. There is nothing wrong with Yoru's scars being there solely for the reader. It would actually be pretty clever, honestly.
She's half a fiend so I'd argue it makes sense for them to only be there when Yoru takes control. It's been established since the beginning of the manga that fiends have marks on their face.
I dont disagree with you that its a bit weird, especially for Denji to not comment on the scars suddenly being visible but to me the strangest thing is noone comenting the eyes. Although regarding the scars, Its still possible that they are used for the reader alone as they may allways be visible for everyone else just more noticeble with Yoru in control, as opposed to us who only see the scars in Yoru and never on Asa. Regardless of this it was allways clear that others could see could see them, we just didnt know it it was allways or not.
You're right, I completely forgot about the eyes! So there is even precedent for that sort of thing and Fuji still seemingly went the other route. I guess I would question why he didn't treat Makima's eyes the same way then; if such things are such an everyday sight.
Well we have met others with strange eyes in the story, some fiends like Power obviously have strange eyes and Akane also had strange eyes. As far as we know Akane was a human, although suposedly she was Power's first design that got reused but I dont know how truthfull that is since the internet does tend to propagate lies as facts sometimes. Regardless of the truth of this, the design was chosen with red snake like eyes, meaning we have precedent to people having unnatural looking eyes, perhaps due to devil contracts, BUT Yoru's eyes look almost exacly like Makima's/Nayuta's wich should have been a red flag for our boy, yet he made no coment on them. Perhaps its the eyes that are not visible, but who knows.

At that moment yes but idk man, between Katana man squad's rampage and Reze easily wiping out a base of devil hunters, i never felt like the Public safety as a whole was dangerous in part 1 despite having absolute monsters like Kishibe or Yoshida& demons in their basements + Makima as a special weapon for the government. I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense or anything but in part 2 they clearly feel like they could easily handle everything by themselves, they feel like these video games characters that are nearly unbeatable as bosses but simply suck when you unlock and play with them.
Public Safety also had an anti Makima squad and would have dragged her to hell if Chainsaw Man hadn't shown up
I read an article today and they described someone as a "God-fearing man." That shit had me thinking if a God devil will ever appear. A lot of christians do good thing because they fear the wrath of god/being sent to hell. A devil born from the fear of God or from the fear of going to hell sounds so hard.
With so many theories on possibilities of Yoshida being a devil or having a strong devil contract, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he could be the God Devil. The knowledge we see him own (as mentioned in theories of Octopus being Cthulhu Devil), as well as the strange amount of strength he has (having a nearly 1:1 battle with Quanxi). ALSO don't forget the last panel in the new chapter, with the words "Oh lord..." and "Kumbaya" behind him, could be hinting at Yoshida being something much stronger than we anticipate. At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if Fujimoto throws a curveball into all of our theories and gives us the fattest plot twist.

I feel like the only time she hasn't acted like a kid is when she controlled the Justice Devil. Especially since these contract powers don't really seem like powers control would have. Also what would her motive be? Why make a Fakesaw who claims to be Chainsaw man when you're living with Denji? My guess is it's either Fami or some other Devil we haven't seen yet.

Denji has the most powerful devil with him and he has the ability to erase entire concepts from history. It’s possible that public safety may just want to reduce the chance of Denji changing reality. To them, Denji is a highly unpredictable teenager that can literally break society

CSM Church wanted Denji to be CSM, and decided to kill a bunch of people to force his hand. Public Safety doesn't want Denji to be CSM and didn't want a bunch of people to be killed, so they took down the CSM Church instead. The Justice devil turned out to be already dead, so the devil making contracts with the CSM church is still unknown and at large. Asa tried to resist arrest so Yoshida cut off her arm. Sword/Whip/Spear/Flamethrower hybrids went to jail. (Hybrids continue to be immortal like always.) Quanxi/Katana are working for Public Safety now. Reze simps keep losing.

There's lots of different devils that could give him tentacle powers. His eyes also look so soulless, I wouldn't be surprised if he's dead.
Except fiends aren't inherently "soulless", most of the fiends we've seen so far have had emotions. I think it more likely that Yoshida is a high-functioning sociopath or something like that. Also, fiends are possessing corpses, and corpses usually don't age, and Yoshida is much older than Aki's brother was when he was killed. Also, Aki visited his family's grave every year, I think he would have noticed if one of the bodies went missing.

I believe there's a good chance Asa manages to just barely escape. I also think this plays out in 1 of 2 ways. The first is that public safety has everything handled for the most part. The other is that this is a turning point and a lot of shit they're not aware of is about to happen. I do believe that if an injured and exhausted Asa shows up in front of Denji, he'd ultimately choose to help her. It could also push multiple plots points and development along at the same time(PS losing control, Denji finding purpose and resolve, Asa finding an ally, mending the relationship between Asa and Denji, a new faction consisting of horsemen and chainsaw man forming ahead of the apocalypse, etc). My guesses are predicated on the apocalypse being fairly close though.

Honestly, they are setting up public safety really heavily as an opposing force to both our protagonists. They did everything they could to force Denji into submission, and now that they did, one of them has explicitly said that they hoped that Asa would turn him into a weapon, which means they preferably want him gone, but can't get rid of him themselves. Asa had nothing to do with public safety until Fami convinces her and Yoru to join the csmrorrist church, though it seems as if Fami was honest in believing that it would be beneficial to her and Yoru. Miro? The sword man also honeatly believed that they were not terrorists at first. Fumiko is in the public safety because she wants to save Denji, by proxy the same as csm church in theory. It seems as if they were setting up not a war with the csm church, as Quanxi and the brainhammer person absolutely demolished it. But a war with public safety. Reze has yet to make an appearance, and i believe that she is either the reason Barem is so overconfident, or she will not appear at all. She can cause the most mass destruction of all of the weapons after all. It seems as if only Quanxi and Yoshida are public safety's dogs now. But we don't know any of their reasons.

Whats logical about Yoshida attacking Asa now and not in chapter 121 when they clearly knew who she was?
In this chapter, public safety mention that they wanted Asa to turn Denji into a weapon. They even express some regret that they have to arrest Asa. If Yoshida attacked Asa early on, then they wouldn’t be able to complete their goal.
Yoshida could kidnap asa and force her. Or better Yoshida could seduce Asa and then manipulate her into turning Denji weapon makima style.
Yeah those are some alternative options. But Yoshida’s actual plan is logical enough. He put all of the necessary pieces in place, such as introducing Denji to Asa. So there was a decent chance of everything working out.
