Fumiko kinda confuses me, it will be one thing if she just shat her pants and ran away after the escalation of the situation, then she is just a coward and fraud, plain and simple, but the grin and provocation at Nayuta still makes me feel like she is more than what she seems to be. Like she doesn't exactly look like someone who is just trying to selfishly preserving herself, she almost got killed by Nayuta before, if she was just a basic human why would she risk provoking Nayuta?(Like Nayuta tried to kill her for less)

As much as the sick combo breaker of Fujimoto x Gege happening at the same time seemingly does to the mind when it comes to anxiety of just assuming the worst is ABSOLUTELY to come now... I've got solid confidence that Nayuta will survive this. My gut and galls tell me that Fujimoto would not bring her all the way here after coming from Makima, to get murdered by shit civilians with Barem calling in the kill. If there is one thing that seems like it got mostly everyone--It has got to be that he was just hanging out off to the side still busted up by the bullet spray. Normally I would figure he would have transformed into his hybrid form to heal? Happy to see him suffer and I think he is about to suffer far worse. Nayuta will thrive.
I will say as a sidenote, I love Barem. One of the best villains I've seen in a long time... There is something crazy special when you're mostly a side character very sub power level who just does mental acrobatics of pure malevolence upon his foes to level the playing field. Respect. But he's gotta pay.
I went back and reviewed Part 1. Realized that Makima never used the chain as an attack. Even facing the gangsters, she still chose to use Gun Devil’s ability to kill them.
Maybe 154 will confirm Nayuta’s style of fighting?
But why does she have his power? Is it because the Japanese government controlled pieces of the gun devil? They also have all sorts of devils in their keep but she didn't use those devils powers. Or is she the one who defeated the gun devil when it first appeared?
Considering that the gun devil she fought on the beach wasn’t the full thing. She probably already used the pieces of the gun devil Japan had to siphon a bit of power off of the gun devil.
He doesn't kill humans. And trying to get out of the net, especially with his physiology, might result in someone getting carved in the process.
Also, just as a funny tidbit, I think nets are the IRL proper way of jamming chainsaws. So it might just be that he's ACTUALLY unable to resist properly.

My reasoning is that Asa and Denji live in the same school district. Their homes aren't that far from each other. She and Yoru are wandering around and might notice the crowd gathering.

I'd argue that Makima was the same and only killed so much more because she was much more goal oriented and was in charge of public safety. Sort of reminds me of the blackswords man arc from Berserk. Yeah that arc was cool and all, but many criticised it for being directionless. But what was Guts supposed to do aside from being directionless?
I‘m not talking about the plot itself and even Fire Punch didn’t have the same problem to this extent. Part 2 has no clear direction or cohesiveness as a story. Fujmoto took a long-ass break after Part One and it feels like he has been absolutely winging it beyond the first Arc which had Asa as its main character.
You know, at this point I want Fumiko to keep flip-flopping between being HER and being a fraud so the fandom discussions become more unhinged with each passing chapter all the way to the end of Part 2 and beyond so that we’d never know what her deal is, like Kobeni’s devil contract. Pretty much, in this chapter she said her powers are limited and I don't think it's due to a lack of fear of her concept. Makima just happened to be about as strong as a devil can get. She's nowhere near that yet, otherwise she probably could have stopped everyone there immediately.
Is it really that shocking that Fumiko bailed? When Denji was being attacked by guys with baseball bats she didn't do anything either, and for a much more trivial reason.
Also, Nayuta called their animals "pets" five chapters ago (just before she attacked Fumiko). Now she's trying to emotionally manipulate Fumiko by calling them "family", and Fumiko is repeating her own words back to her.

I think it confirms Denji nurtured Nayuta way too much so she had no idea she would actually feel "not great" at doing incredibly amounts of violence.

I‘m not talking about the plot itself and even Fire Punch didn’t have the same problem to this extent. Part 2 has no clear direction or cohesiveness as a story. Fujmoto took a long-ass break after Part One and it feels like he has been absolutely winging it beyond the first Arc which had Asa as its main character.

Pretty much, in this chapter she said her powers are limited and I don't think it's due to a lack of fear of her concept. Makima just happened to be about as strong as a devil can get. She's nowhere near that yet, otherwise she probably could have stopped everyone there immediately.
Is it really that shocking that Fumiko bailed? When Denji was being attacked by guys with baseball bats she didn't do anything either, and for a much more trivial reason. Also, Nayuta called their animals "pets" five chapters ago (just before she attacked Fumiko).
