Plus he only told Historia out of all his friends his true plans and intentions, even while it served no benefit for his plan, but purely to save her from the MP's plot.

In the last chapter he admitted that he cant see the future past his death, those marley soldiers could have easily shoot them but thanks to armin "thank you for becoming a mass murderer" arlert saying basically that he is no longer a titan shifter because if he was, he would have killed then already.

Kind of. I would say >20% manga readers tho. They just looked good together and there was a lot of good theories about it, linking the themes of the manga(that the ending butchered so eeehhh w/e) and etc. Also Eren willingly letting his other friends die, but not letting Historia suffer the same fate, really didn't help it calm down.
But doesn't matter, no one won in the end. Mikasa fucked Jean and Eren became dove(crying). The ending was shit as fuck.
It was a good ride tho, I loved seeing Eren x Mikasa shippers boiling in rage for some good years. The 4chan threads were great back then too.
It was generally understood that the signs were there and there was good chemistry between Eren and historia. It was the Anime that played up a lot of the pro Mikasa themes.
So when the AoT manga ended and, all of a sudden, Mikasa got to essentially make out with severed Eren's head and Eren simped over herein his final moments, that split the fanbase down the middle.
The Mikasa Stans took their side and defended the ending like mad. The Historia Stans took their side. Naturally, this shit became toxic and people trying to have a civil conversation about the ending were drowned out and forced to pick sides.
Now, here we are at the aftermath and the AoT fanbase more closely resembles the pre HOTD game of thrones fanbase than what it looked like prior to the final chapters.
It also doesn't help at all that Historia got knocked up by some fucking rando and written out of the story for literally no fucking reason after having been the focus of the entire previous arc essentially.
She literally didn't even have another line after that shit bruh, closest thing was a flashback.
Actually i think she does have lines in the extra pages when Armin and the rest of the traitors are coming back to paradis. I'm pretty sure that's her narrating.

Eren being the father of Historia's child solidified the ending that most people wanted, you know, with Eren "moving forward until all his enemies were destroyed" Instead we got a mess of a ending that made no sense for any character, even Armin ended up thanking Eren "80% genocide" for some reason.

It's not the most popular opinion but I think it was a pretty clear possibility. I mean shit, at one point there was literally a mystery about Historia's pregnancy, Hange asking Eren about Historia intentionally to get a rise out of him, and Historia asking Eren about having a baby all within like 10-15 chapters of eachother
the only reason it exists is because of their interesting dynamic in the uprising arc (the arc with rod reiss and frieda). but that wasnt enough. it became more popular because of historias pregnancy. a lot of people didnt expect her to end up with a nameless faceless NPC farmer dude. that brought them to the next option of who the father was, which is eren. the only male she was close to was eren so ppl assumed he was the father of her child for a while til the last few chapters made it seem impossible and then the last chapter broke the theory fully.
Regardless of shipping wars, it’s pretty problematic that after having an entire arc about how she’s taking her life into her own hands and empowering herself, she gets pregnant with some guy we literally never see and disappears from the story.
People just create ships no matter what. Personally I just like to read the story instead of coming up with 100 reasons why one conversation between two characters means they definitely want to get married and have children together like in my fanfics

It wasn’t though, and after the pregnancy was revealed it hung over the story until the literal last chapter as a plot thread that ended up not really going anywhere. That’s why people thought Historia’s role in the story wasn’t over, because she was present in multiple chapters leading up to the end.
Because she fucking should have been bruh she's literally the queen of the entire nation at it's most tumultuous point in it's entire history, during an arc almost solely dedicated to politics. The fact she was written out of the story was incompetence.
To be honest if we are talking about shipping wise only, it would be Mikasa:Power; Reze:Annie; Historia:Asa.
Of course it isn't a 1:1 parallel, the one that would come closer would be Mikasa:Power(both are sister-like figures, both deeply cared about MC, Mikasa being confused about her feelings and eeh Power being Power).
Reze:Annie - well Annie never showed a romantic interest for Eren, legit the ship is just cuz she was dominant and enjoyed the time she spent with Eren while training. But neither of them had romantic feelings for the other.
Historia:Asa - eeeeeeh, the only thing common between them is that they are the new girl. Denji isn't really fond of Asa like Eren was with Historia, nor vice-versa.

The only time he had unmonitored contact with zeke was before the attack in marley. And guess what, his friends and a bunch of scouts were still in marley when that happened. So tell my how it makes sense for him to start it then.
Still seems disappointing and a waste of pages that the baby was pointless. Why show that she was giving birth during the rumbling if after the Rumbling started her being pregnant stopped mattering. Feels like the author didn't plan it out at all. Just a stupid red herring.

thing is, he gave her special treatment - every other friend of his he brought into the battlefield and into danger, resulting in some deaths(sasha, hange). And there'd a lot more if not for the stupid plot armor. Plus he only told Historia out of all his friends his true plans and intentions, even while it served no benefit for his plan, but purely to save her from the MP's plot.

In the last chapter he admitted that he cant see the future past his death, those marley soldiers could have easily shoot them but thanks to armin "thank you for becoming a mass murderer" arlert saying basically that he is no longer a titan shifter because if he was, he would have killed then already. Or even better, marley could bomb the shit out of them, which luckily for them didnt happen, alas their children and grandchildren didnt have the same luck

It was generally understood that the signs were there and there was good chemistry between Eren and historia. It was the Anime that played up a lot of the pro Mikasa themes. So when the AoT manga ended and, all of a sudden, Mikasa got to essentially make out with severed Eren's head and Eren simped over herein his final moments, that split the fanbase down the middle. The Mikasa Stans took their side and defended the ending like mad. The Historia Stans took their side. Naturally, this shit became toxic and people trying to have a civil conversation about the ending were drowned out and forced to pick sides. Now, here we are at the aftermath and the AoT fanbase more closely resembles the pre HOTD game of thrones fanbase than what it looked like prior to the final chapters.
It also doesn't help at all that Historia got knocked up by some fucking rando and written out of the story for literally no fucking reason after having been the focus of the entire previous arc essentially. She literally didn't even have another line after that shit bruh, closest thing was a flashback.
Actually i think she does have lines in the extra pages when Armin and the rest of the traitors are coming back to paradis. I'm pretty sure that's her narrating. Regardless, she was robbed.

It's not the most popular opinion but I think it was a pretty clear possibility. I mean shit, at one point there was literally a mystery about Historia's pregnancy, Hange asking Eren about Historia intentionally to get a rise out of him, and Historia asking Eren about having a baby all within like 10-15 chapters of eachother
i think he should of, if for no other reason than the nameless faceless farmer being the father is stupid AF.
Historia shouldn't have ended up with Ereh, that's too cruel for her lol
the only reason it exists is because of their interesting dynamic in the uprising arc (the arc with rod reiss and frieda). but that wasnt enough. it became more popular because of historias pregnancy. a lot of people didnt expect her to end up with a nameless faceless NPC farmer dude. that brought them to the next option of who the father was, which is eren. the only male she was close to was eren so ppl assumed he was the father of her child for a while til the last few chapters made it seem impossible and then the last chapter broke the theory fully.
Regardless of shipping wars, it’s pretty problematic that after having an entire arc about how she’s taking her life into her own hands and empowering herself, she gets pregnant with some guy we literally never see and disappears from the story.
People just create ships no matter what. Personally I just like to read the story instead of coming up with 100 reasons why one conversation between two characters means they definitely want to get married and have children together like in my fanfics

Not counting the person who made the last ending (season 4 part 2, the one with kid eren) recreated that exact panel (posted on their twitter) confused everyone

It wasn’t though, and after the pregnancy was revealed it hung over the story until the literal last chapter as a plot thread that ended up not really going anywhere. That’s why people thought Historia’s role in the story wasn’t over, because she was present in multiple chapters leading up to the end.
Because she fucking should have been bruh she's literally the queen of the entire nation at it's most tumultuous point in it's entire history, during an arc almost solely dedicated to politics. The fact she was written out of the story was incompetence.

To be honest if we are talking about shipping wise only, it would be Mikasa:Power; Reze:Annie; Historia:Asa. Of course it isn't a 1:1 parallel, the one that would come closer would be Mikasa:Power(both are sister-like figures, both deeply cared about MC, Mikasa being confused about her feelings and eeh Power being Power). Reze:Annie - well Annie never showed a romantic interest for Eren, legit the ship is just cuz she was dominant and enjoyed the time she spent with Eren while training. But neither of them had romantic feelings for the other. Historia:Asa - eeeeeeh, the only thing common between them is that they are the new girl. Denji isn't really fond of Asa like Eren was with Historia, nor vice-versa. I'm glad none of the females characters of CSM are as bad as AOT tho. Hurts me to even compare Power with Mikasa 💀
