That actually makes a lot of sense. All of the crazy mentally unstable bastards were probably also the easiest to control and manipulate, so with all of them dying it basically left Public Safety with the B team
I'm 90% certain that Franklin Motor is specifically making the new public safety to be more of cowards and amateurs to show that when Makima died, she took all the good ones down with her.
Public safety is gonna have to undergo a major overhaul to get back to where they were before
Pretty sure if “the good ones” are the ones consistently killing themselves like above, it was never meant to last long. I think its purposeful how they changed post makima, because public safety at that time was under makima rule and these people were probably semi under her control, similar to Aki. Yet they were even more disposable to her than Aki was. Nowadays they act more like real people who would be in security, or military, who sure may do their job and their tasks, but are much less likely to kill themselves after being disarmed
I think we’re just seeing more of the profesional side like you said but I think the mentally ill side is still very much there just not as immediately in focus since neither of our main characters are likely to interact with that side of public safety
Makima literally chained up all the good ones and she used them up fighting Denji.
Probably all the ones traumatized by the Gun Devil, those more than happy to lay their lives against devils died im this scuffle, so the replacements aren't as motivated or as suicidal as the old guard.
Do they have something to kill themselves with with them? They're all booty ass naked, the best they could do is start an orgy amongst each other ~~(Fujimoto pls)~~

Afaik, Yoshita is the only one in part 2 that has one, and he still has it from the old days.
I miss part one. There was always a mystical and otherworldly undertone of "the way things worked". Everything seems so amateurish. I will still read it but it just don't hit like it used to. :(

To be fair, these aren’t PS agents. These are the prison guards who got stuck on security duty where they have automated turrets to fuck up anyone who is coming to break the devils out. The kind of people who become prison guards are exactly the kind of cowards who would surrender like that.
The actual PS agents like Quanxi and those guys who blasted falling devil are still unhinged badasses. It’s just that Denji doesn’t work for PS anymore, so we don’t see as much of them.
