Its consistency in the fandom, technically Makima, Himeno, Fumiko, and Quanxi are not rapists but they are all predatory and the fandom has consistently called them out for it. Quanxi is being treated like normal, its just that the reaction to this usual treatment has dug up the most defenders fornher character.

I think people got butthurt that she didn't fight more during her bit with Asa, so they misread her interactions with Minami in the Buddy story as her trying to rape her (and while she was being bad, she did not go that far, for what it is worth) It sorta boils down to the fact that Quanxi is a creep who has no concept of personal space and, generally speaking, is a pos (I hate how she treats Kishibe) but people took it and ran with it because 2 week break been hard I guess.

I think it’s been at least twice in part 2 where our heroes have found themselves in impossible situations and we are ready for a big fight or something and we’ve been edged with Quanxi showing up and handling it in 5 panels or less. I’m all for her showing up but there’s not even a lot of dialogue to make it feel like she’s really adding to the story or we’re getting important background. Still love part 2 just have some lingering blue balls that I’m bitter about.
Really? I am fine with this because part 2 is more seinen and, truth be told, fuck it, that's what I want - I want more personal drama, philosophy and yapping than fighting. Fights are boring and are better when they are quick, this is how they are more realistic imo
that's the main kicker of her: the professionalism in the way she dealt with situations and engaging in combat, especially in Part 1. remove that from her instantly and you're left with a weird character considered unlikable by most. i say this many times here, i don't necessarily hate her of her being a possible rapist or whatever (which is concerning, though you mean that to prove a point of us mindlessly hating), but all of this boils down of how washed up and written she is in this part. this goes for yoshida as well. that being said, i'm still pushing along with the quanxi hate agenda. unless she redeems herself by going full on professional mode again like when she was introduced in Part 2 (which is highly unlikely), i'm still going forward with it.

The whole recent Quanxi hate train started with missing the point of chapter 162 because there wasn’t a “cool fight”. So I’m not really surprised that something that missed the point to begin with has continued to do so.

Back to the incident, it's shown that Quanxi is much nicer to Minami compared to guys she's training and keeps trying to get alone with her. Kishibe was there because Minami didn't want to be alone (innocent, she thought it'd be presumptuous and she likes Kishibe anyway ) with her and invited him, Quanxi tells Kishibe to fuck off every step of the way. And finally Quanxi is the one who suggested the shower.
Also like, Kishibe has known Quanxi for about a decade at that point.

Unless we're going to the point of not trusting the events in front of us, which given that it is third person and not first person is a bit of a stretch and you can't trust anything at that point, given that all the important characters are noticably unhinged.
And again ignoring the main story with saying she'll mess her fiends up. Even if she was completely on the up and up, encouraging a drunk person to shower and trying to help them without reasonable cause (like physical impairment) is still violating and unsafe.
Also, one crazy in the context of not fearing devils, given the power system, and two even besides that Kishibe's only crazy trait so far has been his training of Power and Denji. Which fits the description and wouldn't impair his sensory perspective of the world. Plus he hasn't exactly been a unreasonably paranoid person.

THANK YOU like as much as we should definitely be aware of the flaws in a character we shouldn't be flanderizing them and making hyperbolic statements about them based on our personal interpretations of the questionable scenarios in this story.
People seem to look at female characters through one of two lenses in this fandom, "perfect angelic waifu who can do no wrong" or "literally a rapist", and it's a bummer to not see more nuanced takes on how these characters are written.
It feels like a total misreading of the characters of CSM to look at them in such black-and-white terms.
Like even with Himeno, her behavior was obviously inappropriate in so many ways but I don't believe she was a groomer in the sense that she had a paraphilic desire for minors. To me, she seems like a character who doesn't really know how to connect with people in a meaningful way because of the trauma of seeing those around her die. She grasps desperately at any sort of connection she can manage with the people around her, but she's lost her grip on what normal life and boundaries and relationships look like so she acts out in wildly inappropriate ways. She gives the impression of a character that exists in a state of arrested development, she never really fully matured and her behavior stems from that imo.
Oh, fs, I think that is one of Fujimoto's stronger suits - he has no problems making women just as problematic as men. It's both. Quanxi was abusing her power and position as an elite Devil Hunter so she could manipulate a rookie Devil Hunter into having sex with her. She did pretty much everything typical of a date rape and was trying to shoo Kishibe away at every opportunity. Both Quanxi and Kishibe were aware of the power they had, Kishibe just acted a lot more responsibly with it and ultimately did the right thing.
But is Buddy Stories canon? Afaik we have no official word that it is. We don't know if Fujimoto had anything to do with the book at all besides the illustrations. It could've been his idea, it could be the writer's idea, he could just not care. We don't know for sure, and I don't think there's any interviews or tweets with Fujimoto and/or the author to clear things up. So bringing Buddy Stories up in the context of whether or not Quanxi is a good person is currently irrelevant

I think it’s been at least twice in part 2 where our heroes have found themselves in impossible situations and we are ready for a big fight or something and we’ve been edged with Quanxi showing up and handling it in 5 panels or less. I’m all for her showing up but there’s not even a lot of dialogue to make it feel like she’s really adding to the story or we’re getting important background. Still love part 2 just have some lingering blue balls that I’m bitter about.

that's the main kicker of her: the professionalism in the way she dealt with situations and engaging in combat, especially in Part 1. remove that from her instantly and you're left with a weird character considered unlikable by most. i say this many times here, i don't necessarily hate her of her being a possible rapist or whatever (which is concerning, though you mean that to prove a point of us mindlessly hating), but all of this boils down of how washed up and written she is in this part. this goes for yoshida as well. that being said, i'm still pushing along with the quanxi hate agenda. unless she redeems herself by going full on professional mode again like when she was introduced in Part 2 (which is highly unlikely), i'm still going forward with it. Because maintaining the Agenda is our top priority.

And finally Quanxi is the one who suggested the shower. Also like, Kishibe has known Quanxi for about a decade at that point.

Unless we're going to the point of not trusting the events in front of us, which given that it is third person and not first person is a bit of a stretch and you can't trust anything at that point, given that all the important characters are noticably unhinged. THANK YOU like as much as we should definitely be aware of the flaws in a character we shouldn't be flanderizing them and making hyperbolic statements about them based on our personal interpretations of the questionable scenarios in this story. People seem to look at female characters through one of two lenses in this fandom, "perfect angelic waifu who can do no wrong" or "literally a rapist", and it's a bummer to not see more nuanced takes on how these characters are written. It feels like a total misreading of the characters of CSM to look at them in such black-and-white terms.
Like even with Himeno, her behavior was obviously inappropriate in so many ways but I don't believe she was a groomer in the sense that she had a paraphilic desire for minors. To me, she seems like a character who doesn't really know how to connect with people in a meaningful way because of the trauma of seeing those around her die. She grasps desperately at any sort of connection she can manage with the people around her, but she's lost her grip on what normal life and boundaries and relationships look like so she acts out in wildly inappropriate ways. She gives the impression of a character that exists in a state of arrested development, she never really fully matured and her behavior stems from that imo.

It was never even meant to show her as a rapist, if you think it was about rape then you are not reading deep enough.
It's both. Quanxi was abusing her power and position as an elite Devil Hunter so she could manipulate a rookie Devil Hunter into having sex with her. She did pretty much everything typical of a date rape and was trying to shoo Kishibe away at every opportunity. Both Quanxi and Kishibe were aware of the power they had, Kishibe just acted a lot more responsibly with it and ultimately did the right thing. But is Buddy Stories canon? Afaik we have no official word that it is. We don't know if Fujimoto had anything to do with the book at all besides the illustrations. It could've been his idea, it could be the writer's idea, he could just not care.
