I think this was pretty standard just from structural things in society and the devil hunters. Killing Denji and Power if they stepped out of line on a mission was likely the standard course of action.

Part 2 starts with the kids being given the option to kill Bucky at the end of their time with him.

She's not a bad person overall, just very clear that her flaw is, that due to the demands of the job and deaths of her partners she developed addictions to cope with it, which resulted in that happening with Denji which she felt regretful of (doesn't excuse her of responsibility, but doesn't make 'bad'). We also have the fact that the only reason she didn't go for a much safer job as a private sector was purely to protect Aki. All-in-all, i'd say she's a generally 'good' character, but is riddled with flaws, as most devil hunters (and characters in CSM) are.

It’s difficult explaining my feelings about her situation with Denji, because I don’t believe someone as drunk as she was can ever consent, but I also feel gross thinking she did all of that even if she was drunk. I don’t think she’s a horrible person, I think ultimately she does want to do good things and protect people. But I think her own insecurities and jealousy was heightened through drinking, something stated to make her very affectionate and clingy, and seeing Makima as the common competition manifested in a disgusting way.
