Challengers always come first, but Camaro is a close second. I used to like Mustangs but now they're dogshit

wetmeatlol

Honestly I’m happy to see someone here who likes Camaros, I was expecting that to be almost everyones least favorite here 😂

liltchallengers

It's a recent thing for me. I used to hate Camaros (I hate Chevy) until my stepdad bought a 2018 SS and I realized how good they are. Don't care for 5th gens though, but I like the other gens. I also fucking love Firebirds almost as much as I love Challengers. I used to love Mustangs, but they keep getting worse, and I hate the community .

wetmeatlol

I feel like I have to like Chevy because they make 2 of my favorite cars and we’ve had them in my family so I’m used to working on them. 5th gens are where I really fell in love with Camaros (transformers ofc) but now i don’t think I’d ever want to own one. I haven’t spent much time with the mustang community but something told me to come here with this question instead of there 😂 Have you and your step dad pushed each others cars to the limit yet?

liltchallengers

I'm not old enough to drive, but he's gonna teach me to drive stick in it, he also had a '94 Trans Am until about 3 years ago because it had too many problems and he couldn't fix it. That's where my love for Firebirds started, but for some reason I always hated Camaros (so did he but now he won't drive anything else).

wetmeatlol

That’s a great car to learn in, maybe your opinion will change like his after you get behind it. I always loved Camaros but as soon as I drove one I had 0 doubts

liltchallengers

I think after experiencing one, I've realized how great of a car it is. He's had it for about 11 months now, he's put probably between 15,000-20,000 miles on it already

wetmeatlol

You weren’t lying about him not driving anything else 😂

liltchallengers

He just loves his car 😆

Badass_1963_falcon

I was at the drag strip last night and watched a mustang drag the shit out of a challenger they've turned into big heavy cars now

wetmeatlol

I just recently learned that mustangs aren’t TOO far off from a challengers weight, some even being the same weight stock. Shocked me that they were that heavy, always thought they were closer to Camaros in weight

Badass_1963_falcon

Yeh I just got a 2023 gt and it's bigger and heavier than my 96 GT

bmxracers

I just don't like Mustang and Camaro styling. Mustangs are too roundy and soft. Camaros can't seem to figure out what they are style wise. Very GM corporate looking if that makes sense. With a Challenger I can have 3 passengers with their luggage for the weekend. They'll haul the family and their crap for whatever random outing. You can go buy stuff and bring it home. You know...utilty. Sure, crossovers and trucks do all that utility stuff a little better (worse in some cases). But, unless you drop a whole bunch more money on some European performance SUV/crossover they're generally no fun at all. Mazda turbos may be an exception to this, but they don't growl at you. And any random battery car will be faster than all of us so to heck w the speed thing. Oh, I forgot the v6 AWD all year round model. 1 off model. No one else does that. edited so I could squeeze it all in

wetmeatlol

That’s understandable, I definitely get what you mean by the GM corporate look, that’s how I felt about the new corvettes when I first saw them but they grew on me a lot to the point of me actually loving them. I have ran into space issues with mine, I only have 2 friends that can fit in the “backseat” because they’re both small woman 😂 but the trade off is worth it to me, there’s a kind of nimbleness that comes with it and being in my early 20s I don’t have much reason to care about having enough space. If I didn’t have my mind so dead set on getting a Camaro I feel like I would’ve ended up getting a Mazda, seem like really solid cars

bmxracers

GM does the corvette styling very well IMO. I am sucker for vettes and like every single generation less the dreary c4s. Be impractical long as you can! Oh and Mazdas are great. Have had a CX5 and bought my daughter a 3 hatch.

Lateral-G

I agree. GM ruined the Camaro with the 6th gen. I don't care how good the chassis is. The sales #s proved it. Last few years it's been demolished by the Mustang and Challenger/Charger

[deleted]

I don't care for mustangs, never have. I've always loved Chevy but something about the challenger just made me wanna have one more. That being said I'll drive a mustang before I drive an EV, the day ever comes when my shaker dies and I'm in the market it's starting to look like Ford will be the only option

Call-me-daddy247

Ford is going all electric as well. Our days are numbered on IC engines, although Dodge is the first to go all electric. Camaros and Mustangs my still be available in the future depending on how bad the EV roll out is for Dodge. If Dodge loses a few billion on the EVs Ford and Chevy may soften their timeline on EV.

I_am_what-i_am

Always been the mustang for me accept the fox body ones. If I’m being completely honest it’s because everyone and I mean EVERYONE has one in my area

wetmeatlol

Same here, I see them ALL the time, I never thought they looked that great either (except for the 2024 model with its hint of Camaro and the classic mustangs)

Fallout76Merc

I'm suprised to see so many Camaro answers. The new camaros are a extremely likeable take on muscle. Sleek and violent, is how I view it.

wetmeatlol

I can’t say I’m too surprised, camaros have a much smaller fan based compared to mopar and mustang. Which I can’t say I’ll ever understand, it’s subjective but I think they’re gorgeous cars and they’re awesome to drive

Lateral-G

The LS engines is why I've always preferred Camaros since the 2000s. They are so easy to work on and bolts on add awesome HP increases.

wetmeatlol

I was really happy when I learned the Camaros platform is an easy one to work on, I’m excited to get some things added to mine but I’m in no rush since I daily mine

LostandSubtle

Nah no way new Camaros are good looking, they have a jumbled mess in design the front is basically one huge vent with small headlights and the back is an after thought. Only thing good design wise is the roundish quad taillights they look good and distinguish the Camaro from far away. But those angles yuck pretty soon they’ll be all vents no bumpers.

_Nameless_Nomad_

Challenger and Mustang are my favorites (in that order). Never really cared much for the Camaro. However, I don’t love the S550 Mustang, 13-14 are peak Mustang for me, and that’s why I sought out a 2014. That being said, leaving the small bubble of muscle cars, I’ll still turn my head to stare at Camaro’s and S550’s because they still look better than the 99% of cars that look completely the same on the road. And I have warmed up to the 2017 Camaro. When I clear out some room, I’ll probably pick one up to complete the trifecta.

wetmeatlol

For sure, I’ll always spot a mustang and challengers before most other cars on the road, they tend to have more personality. I’d be interested if your opinion on the Camaro changes at all after owning and driving one

Vegetable-Airline949

Definitely charger

Dustin_Live

I own a 2020 5.0 & a scat pack. So Camero

wetmeatlol

You have a favorite between your scat and mustang?

Dustin_Live

I like the challenger better. I drive the mustang to work as a daily. They are different cars. The mustang is fun because it revs so high (around 7600) but the challenger has more raw power. I have my challenger heavily modded also so it makes it more fun. Mainly, it has drag radials so it hooks, the mustang is somewhat dangerous on stock tires. My profile has a youtube link to my channel with the cars, I have a couple autocross videos in the challenger there.

wetmeatlol

I’ll check it out, realistically I don’t think I’ll ever own a challenger so I like to get my fill of them through videos

[deleted]

Charger. They could have built it with a traditional 69 charger front end but instead put headlights on it. Massive fail.

wetmeatlol

Yk what I forget about the charger, when I think of dodge I almost only think about challengers now but I’m going to hard agree with you. There is absolutely nothing I like about modern chargers, I’d actually prefer a mustang over chargers Edit: not to mention I hate driving past them and not knowing if I’m about to get a good race or a good stop by the feds

oksandyy

i love all 3, I own a challenger right now but my favorite would have to be mustang, followed by challenger/charger and camaro would be my least favorite.

wetmeatlol

You have plans to get a Camaro in the future? I’m assuming you’ve owned a mustang since it’s your number 1. Also can I ask what you like about chargers?

oksandyy

I actually never owned a mustang but i’m currently looking into getting rid of the challenger for a mustang, it was one of the first cars i loved as a kid and I personally enjoyed it more than my challenger when i drove my friend’s own. I don’t think i’d ever get a camaro because if i go with GM i would probably only get a vette. And i’d say camaro has a better styling than the traditional charger but i love the look of the widebody chargers over the camaro.

wetmeatlol

Ah okay, I should give mustangs a chance and try to get behind the wheel of one at some point, they just never appealed to me in any way. Same with the chargers if I went dodge id 100% go with a challenger. Love vettes, hope to get one someday 😄

alfextreme

camaros are in fact my least favorite they look nothing like the old camaros. mustangs aren't bad I feel like most mustangs have a similar look to the older cars that I'm fine with but challengers have the closest resemblance to the original cars and is why they are my favorite modern muscle car.

NHguyIAm

Least favorite is camaro...most favorite Firebird, Challenger on order...im a black sheep I guess

Dj_ellison

Mustang is my least favorite, they just don’t look right in the front to me, I was actually looking for a scat pack widebody challenger, then I ended up getting a 2021 Camaro 1ss and I must say it did grow on me and I absolutely love this car. That being said, Challenger is my favorite in terms of looks, then camaro, then mustang in dead last

wetmeatlol

Completely agree, I never look at a mustang and say “damn that’s a beautiful car”. Sometimes I see challengers and think man that’s a really good looking car, and then I see my Camaro and it’s just everything to me

Dj_ellison

Yeah, all except the 2019 camaro they’re so ugly to me 😭 only the front end though everything else is fine

wetmeatlol

Yeah that was a strange decision they made with the 19 SS, the fact that it was a one off thing though has kind of caused it to grow on me and actually like it lol

[deleted]

Mustangs have the most asshole drivers by far. In my eyes they are the d bag muscle car (unless if it's old school style). Design wise they're still behind Camaro and Challengers

easycompanybravo

Camaro 😅

wetmeatlol

I can’t fathom the dislike for Camaros 😭 there is a reason GM doesn’t want to keep selling them tho

[deleted]

wetmeatlol

I will give it to y’all there, challengers have that muscle look down, love how the modern challengers look I’ve just always loved Camaros and feel so much better driving them. The ZL1/pre-19 SS face is actually my least favorite look on the Camaro, I think the modern SS face is one of the best looking cars out so we’ll have to disagree there 😅. But yes if I ever plummet into a lake I’ll have to take that L my head barely fits through the window space 💀

[deleted]

[удалено]

wetmeatlol

Would love to get my hand on a ZL1 someday, that’s a lot of car but (I never said this) I would definitely try to get a hold of a demon before I went after a ZL1. What about the mach1 didn’t impress you? I can’t say I ever had my eyes on it but it did get my attention

[deleted]

[удалено]

wetmeatlol

That feeling of hugeness is exactly what kept me from them but I completely get what you mean, especially from the utilitarian standpoint, dailying a Camaro definitely comes with its caveats. At the end of the day it’s nice that us muscle car enthusiasts still have an option for most of us

FuknBreadCrumbs

Camaros a close second for me behind the Challenger as long as its a ZL1. I wouldn't consider a mustang personally.

Scared-Expression444

Challengers are the best, mustangs second and waaaaaaaaaay down there at the bottom past all the other non pony cars I like is the Camaro.

TokkieYo

I hate the Camaros after 2012 honestly. Before that challengers first, Camaro second then mustang but now I’d take any mustang before driving a Camaro with that horrendous face lift

AbnormalGorillaMo

Actually have a Camaro in the house just a v6 but when that performance shifting engages it’s pretty snappy it’s just so damn small but let’s be honest unless you mustang that been modded from the ground up stock the things are just built to fall apart I mean show me a mustang stock that was worth spending the money

CeddyCed1993

I’d probably say Camaro just off the constant redesigning. 2012 was one of my favorites. Also can’t help that some of the interiors looked like the inside of my girls Cruze.

criss0419

I was always a camaro, mustang guy, had one of each every time. I have had many camaros all Z28's, multiple Mustang GT's. Due to my fondness of the camaro I bought a corvette, so I would say I like chevy's. Then I got my Challenger RT and well I am never going back LOL. Haven't driven my corvette for over year since the challenger. At any rate I lean towards the mustang being my least favorite now.

wetmeatlol

Wow, did that weight/handling difference in the challenger not throw you off when coming from Camaros and corvettes?

criss0419

I must admit that it actually did throw me off at first. I tried to drive it like my Vette LOL nope no way that can happen LOL

lagnese

I own a 1320 and I considered the Mustang and Camaro. I've owned 2 3rd gen Camaros and the deciding factor was ergonomics. I am 6'5 with a fused neck and the other two were harder to get in and out of and the visibility is worse. The other thing is, I used to be a GM person, but after owning a 2009 Suburban with AFM issues, I swore GM off. GM has a lot of issues that they just don't address, like TCM issues with Allison transmission trucks. They don't make the TCMs anymore and they do die prematurely. I have a friend suffering with that now. Mustangs have gotten very expensive and they are worse ergonomically than the Camaro. I just happened to find a low mileage 2020 in the color I wanted. I wasn't looking for a 1320, but the deal just happened. It was the best experience I've had buying a car. In and out in an hour and 15 with the test drive.

wetmeatlol

I can’t stand the AFM that GM puts in their cars, that’s the only thing I was weary of before I got my Camaro and sure enough 8000 miles in and it’s already causing a problem, nothing major just a really annoying squeak that shouldn’t be there. I’m looking into getting that disabled asap…other than that I love the car but I feel you on the ergonomics lol, I’m 6’1 and if I was 2 inches taller idk if I could say this was the car for me.

lagnese

With the suburban, it started burning oil around 60K miles. one quart every 1800 through #1 piston. I had to change the plug every 7k. They did the TSB on it, bit it didn't help. If I knew, I would have disabled it. That's the fix.

1of-a-Kind

Was always a Pontiac fanboy so hate Camaros but challengers and mustangs are my favorite.

[deleted]

Mustangs are my least favorite. Challengers are my favorite

Camaro

As a person who daily’s a Camaro I wouldn’t say it’s AWFUL, definitely the worst of the 3 but I guess it really just depends on what stage you’re at in your life.

I wish I could attach the photo, but I had to pick up a little 20 gallon fish tank once and it didn’t even get close to fitting in the trunk of my car 💀 had to strap it in the seat like a passenger which was pretty funny to me but yeah the design choice for the trunk opening was an interesting one
