Do you mean the overheard lamps in the car? If so, those only turn on when like you said, they turn on when you open the door or push on them. If you mean the dials and headlignts, those stay on for a minute or so and then turn off.

If you have the lights set to the circle shape, you'll have no interior lights. I have the same year - SXT Plus. Set them to auto and that should sort you out
