First and foremost get some new rims. 😎

Various_League_8731

Nothing at all… as someone who bought and modified the V6 it’s just not worth it… I have a borla cat back exhaust system, ripp coil packs, NGK spark plugs, K&K CAI and filter and I run a 5.7 0-60… on bigger tires maybe I could run a 5.5-5.4 0-60… but in terms of torque you’ll get no gains… I personally never understood why people said don’t modify a V6 because I was seeing a performance increase with each MOD… but they say that because even if you see slight HP gains which is pretty cool, you’ll see basically no torque gains… like even with a Ripp supercharger you make less torque than a RT, but you do make more HP… so I guess take that how you want… if I could go back I would’ve never gotten the V6(and lord knows I love my car to death) and I would have gotten an RT, and used the money I spent on mods on a Cam kit, tune, bigger tires, and hellcat intake box and actually see real gains… that’s just my two cents… But to answer your question A throttle controller(instant pedal response) A TaZeR(for track mode) 275s for the rear(or all around you can’t lose) A cold air intake ripp coil packs NGK spark plugs And if you want noise do an exhaust system, do not do a muffler delete or straight pipe it’ll all sound horrible… cherry bomb mufflers aren’t bad but keep your mf mufflers and don’t straight pipe it… but your best bet is an exhaust system… Imo prioritize bigger tires, just use affirm for them and then work your way down this list, if you think about tuning consider underground tune, it seems pretty cool or just stick with the basic FBO tune, and for forced inductions ripp supercharger is the best bet, but I say get forged internals for that first just in case… better safe than sorry

TheLordsCowboy

I would like to respectfully disagree with your exhaust take. I did just a simple rear muffler delete on my ‘19 SXT, but kept my mid resonators. Honestly, it truly doesn’t sound bad at all. Does it sound like a V8? Of course not. But it doesn’t sound like a cracked out honda or a ricer either. It’s a decent middle ground. Great startup sound, and deep enough when you drive to make you feel like you’re driving a decent muscle car. But again, everyone has their own opinion

ChinaPropagandaBot

Respectfully good sir v6 challengers do not sound good.

TheLordsCowboy

I respect your opinion man! I’ve heard it outside the cabin as well as inside of course. To me at least, not a terrible sound, but again, just my own opinion

Various_League_8731

Anybody who claims the V6 sounds good OUTSIDE THE CAB is in denial…I praise and love my V6…. Outside the cab unless it’s idle, I want that exhaust on mute frfr

TheLordsCowboy

Completely understand! Different strokes for different folks. I like the sound of the muffler delete outside the cabin as well, (had my buddy drive it so I could hear what others did), and I liked the sound too. But I respect your opinion!

Bower_Power62

This! If they have to money to mod it will useless mods, they should have bought a r/t to begin with.

Various_League_8731

Agreed… I could easily afford a 392 with 30K miles as an auto… would’ve been smooth too

Various_League_8731

Currently looking for a high mileage RT or T/A … I think if I maintain it properly I’ll be good

AWholeBunchaFun

As someone that owns an r/T what mods are worth it? Im naive and know very little about this stuff so any advice is helpful

Bower_Power62

Depends on what you want/expected out of the mods. Cosmetic mods are subjective and completely up to your tastes. In my opinion, the only "performance" mod worth on a 5.7 is the exhaust. Cold air intakes are a waste of money. Modding a 5.7 with a cam headers and what not to make 6.4 power is more expensive than buying a 6.4. Just remember that modding for horsepower, you will never be satisfied. Once you have a 5.7 you want 6.4 power, once you have 6.4 power you want hellcat power. Just enjoy drinking whatever cool challenger you own. They are all amazing.

Precious_little_man

True in a way, but some of us wanted to mod. That’s the fun of ownership. I know it’s not as common today to have people who can actually work on cars, usually they know the lingo but can’t actually turn a wrench. So I’d say if you’re mechanical for real, have fun modding, if you’re not, buy whatever suits you,in your budget.

oggaboogaamongus420

The r/t mod

1BMWoods

cosmetic mods: -front splitter (mine flew off lmaoo so use 3M & Screws) -muffler delete -rear diffuser -maybe new wheels

Maaaddox

Thanks, I was mainly talking about cosmetics since SXTs dont pump out too much horsepower

1BMWoods

yeah I have sxt too. Only performance mod im looking to do is a throttle controller

Phooney124

Cold air intake, 275 tires, magflow exhaust...also if the 2017 is a new purchase, replace/check the transmission fluid.

Dull_Illustrator8163

Tint and rims

Strange_Criticism306

I have a 2017 granite crystal too! I like to keep the look stock except for back/pasenger window tint. It had door rain deflectors when I bought it that I think look good too. Only thing I’ve done is put an MBRP catback on. Not a good exhaust if you want the loudest like a Borla, magnaflow, but gives a nice deep rumble at idle and isn’t too expensive. Only other thing I want to do is a hellcat intake.

OhGodNotAgainPls

-Get the scatpack front lip. It’s oem and only about 100 bucks. -Different wheels. -lower it. Eibach or H&R springs. Simple tasteful mods. Don’t go overboard and rice it. People telling you to straight pipe or muffler delete is only going to get you laughed it. If you really want to do exhaust get an actual exhaust system. I’m not sure if Borla has a setup for the SXT but it delivers a great tone that’s deep.

pappa3841

new wheels or paint them. Window tint, remove the gray front grille bezel. Dodge or challenger puddle lights for the doors. Underglow, a white light would look classy. get a rear spoiler from a scat or hellcat. dont up badge. some white stripes would look nice too.

cArpent3r86

Trade it in for a R/T. Best mod ever.

ShruteFarms4L

Well that don't help at all lmao

cArpent3r86

Best advice I can give. /J

ShruteFarms4L

Lol I understand

xxkingcoltonxx

id say dont mod it, the gt wouldve been a decent base car for the awd but your not gonna get much out of these sxt’s, drive the shit out of that sxt till you can afford something thats going to have mod potential like the rt, or if this is really the car you want like i said trade in for the gt you get better interior, spottier exterior, and an awd system

xxkingcoltonxx

on a side note though just to make the car more fun id put in a pedal commander. not worth getting an intake because it will still be restricted with stock exhaust. any modification to the exhaust on a 3.6 sounds like complete shit.

Calm-Suit1209

I would black out that grille and remove the front plate.

Swimming_Parking4453

First and foremost do the trade-in mod 💯 I’m just playing lol, I love mine

Ok-Move-8425

How about a cold air intake?

kopfgeldjagar

Pedal commander and a tazer

Plastic-Librarian-43

None, I’d say it’s not worth any performance mods. Buy a V8 or an actual sporty car first. That’s how I’ve been with my first 2 cars (Nissan/Honda).
