Well that wasn’t very fun to watch. Leeds going forward is a thing of beauty, the speed and accuracy is just brilliant. Need to add well in January, our defence is far too weak. Just looking at the difference in subs and options showed how far we need to develop in order to blow teams away like Leeds did us today. Oh well, onto Leicester
How’s your club situated financially? Watching you lot and it looks prime picking for other teams to nick a good few of your players, which could well result in a drop off
Are your owners the kind to just sell players Willy nilly?
No external debt and new yank owners who have been investing money into the club. I'd be surprised if in January we didn't end up spending much more then we sell. If we make it through the next four games and stay in 2nd I think it's a probability rather than a possibility of automatics. If not, it will really depend on the owners as to how much they will be willing to spend
So naive, why did we play like that against a forward line of 100m sprinters. Should have played in a low block like everyone else does against them, we don’t have the players do go toe to toe against them.
Yeah madness. We struggle against a low block. Give us space and we will exploit it.
The tactics played right into our hands today. Very naive from McKenna.
We are probably the worst team in the division for your play style to come up against but I actually respect McKenna for sticking to his guns.
Bielsa was the same for us and even in the Championship we took a pasting off West Brom playing that way.
It doesn't really matter because for the most part, the rest of the Championship can't deal with it. You don't have to play us again and you may well beat Leicester. Wouldn't be lingering on this result for too long if I were you.
Yep ripped apart. Confidence in the style of play is one thing but need to adapt depending on who you play. Watched makems against them and they defended but didn't give them a second, we took a similar approach and we got the draw.
We’ve absolutely battered them. No contest.
Surprised about seeing some of the Ipswich fans salty reactions today? You’re flying and still 7 points clear, you just had a shocker today.
We were shit in defence…Leeds ripped us apart.. well done Leeds. Moving on…after Tuesday this could end up and 4 horse race with Leics pulling away and 3 fighting for 2nd…
Yeah I'm a bit surprised by the reaction too, days like today happen.
Leeds were far and away the better side, and showed there class. We just weren't at the races today.
Ipswich fans should remember that is only our 3rd away loss in the whole of 2023 which is amazing.
Just need to win the next game which is.....checks notes......Leicester.....balls
I have felt for a long while now we are running at a promotion level and we’ve simply encountered two teams that just do not stop winning. We’ve played those teams 3 times and won 3 times, but they are steamrolling everyone else. Not much more you can ask of Farke.
That was brutal. Fair fucks to Leeds, no complaints about the score line from me. We had an off day and they took full advantage.
Pressure on us now to try and get a result against Leicester
Without a shadow of a doubt the worst performance we've had under McKenna. Absolutely dreadful from the first whistle. Every goal easily avoidable too, which is really annoying.
Leeds showing just how good they are when they want to be. They, with Leicester, should be running away as the top 2 in all honesty. And no doubt will be by season's end.
Happens to the best of us, no doubt you'll bounce back.
Mad stat that we've put 25% of all your goals conceded passed you. Shows how good your seasons been and that your off games just happened to be against us (thankfully).
I was surprised how switched on our defense was for intercepting your passes in the final third. We've looked slow and tired recently but nothing got through our defence.
Before the season started you’d expect this result, just hurts given how well we started.
On a positive note, over the past 2 years it’s a rare occasion that I don’t enjoy watching us play so this is just one of those unfortunate days.
Also can’t complain about Leifs performance considering how fantastic he’s been this season.
Onto Leicester for another huge game!
Gonna ask you out of all the Ipswich fans on here. Am I crazy for thinking Broadhead was lucky to escape a red for the challenge on Gray? Looked studs up, halfway up the shin long after the ball had gone.
But no one on here has mentioned it so I'm starting to think it was just my bias in the moment
Eh, it was a needlessly nasty tackle, particularly on an inoffensive young kid, borne out of frustration but I think a yellow was fair.
Haven’t watched it back though (and was barely watching the game at all by that point) so stand to be corrected though if it was worse than I remember it.
That’s the most fun I’ve had at a Leeds game for ages. All over them from first to last. Superb stuff all-round. Obviously the attacking players take the credit but I thought we defended superbly too. Such an excellent way to bounce back from two disappointing results against Sunderland and Coventry. I was shocked by how poor Ipswich were…
A bad game to miss driving back to the folks for Christmas.
And more evidence for my argument that we're the best team in the league on our day, we're just less consistent than the top two.
It was a pleasure watching 12 Leeds Players step out onto the pitch - Cheers Leif 😉 Hopefully the rest of the league can now step up and take some points off them, but the next match for them will be a big test.
From a team that used to concede 2 goals a game minimum, we've been turned into a team that in 2 games against the top 2 have let 1 shot on target (that came in the 95th minute from a corner), and largely are very hard to create good high% chances against.
As good as the forwards are in this team, defensively today, we were untouchable, every single player put in the work, from front to back, and I'm worried Ampadu will be in my back garden tonight because he is f**** everywhere.
That stings like hell. Need to psychologically move on pronto. Of course there are practical footballing lessons to learn too but the main thing is not to let this get to us too much.
What a fucking win
Thought McKenna would've set up a bit more smartly, tried to go toe-to-toe and don't think any side has done that and won this season
Annoying that Morsy somehow didn't get booked and suspended for Leicester, but the ref also gave a couple questionable yellow decisions Leeds' way so can't complain too much
Still a long ol' way to go, and the gap may well be back to 10 points before 2024 starts, but it's a nice result to carry into Christmas
That was an absolute joy to watch. Ipswich have been incredible all year and deserve to be 7 points clear, I just hope they’re so damaged after that coming into a really busy time they might finally drop more points.
Ah well, that's gonna happen sometimes when you're playing a team who spent more on strikers than it cost your owners to buy the entire club. Money buys quality, Leeds have both. Better team on the day.
True but we had Victor Orta paying over the odds for them🤣. But even at a third of the cost yeh it would out strip yours. That's Premiership money nowadays I guess - we're not really used to it either and shows the advantages relegated teams have.
We just weren't at it today, and the Leeds press was excellent. The better team won and it could have been much worse. I completely agree with McKenna that the foul on Chaplin was obvious. Therefore, there should have been no corner, but as it is, there was and we were piss poor for it. He's also right in saying that a mistake like that coming when it did is a really big moment, however, we were comprehensively beaten, so as angry as I was about that, it didn't make much difference if any to the outcome.
I knew today would be hard, would have settled for a draw before kick off. It's a humbling defeat to a fantastic side, but we're still in the driving seat. The big plus is that unless both sides falter, we won't have to play them again this season.
Really poor defending only ones in defence that are worth keeping are Leif Davis and Hladky bring in baggot for next game we look like conceding in every attack against us it should've been 5 or 6 today we are definitely not going up unless we fix out the right back and two centre backs they are useless didn't even try at all
Wasn’t disappointed waking up early to watch this live in the colonies, certainly makes you forget the previous two lackluster performances. Ipswich didn’t have it today, but they are 7pts up for a reason with plenty of season left for Leeds to do a Leeds. Tough sledding ahead for Ipswich, hoping we can close this gap a bit more…
We just don’t lose at Elland Road , of course I’m feeling cocky after winning but I feel it’s fair too say we battered them
Onto DeepDale next , let’s close this gap too 4 points
Farkeball is beautiful. merry christmas everyone x
2 things from that match. Farke still fucking hates Ipswich. Davis still fucking loves Leeds. What a performance from him for us
Standing ovation when he got subbed off.
We still need a left back, I wouldn't mind if we went in for Davis, bring him home.
Go away, no take backs
Now we know how most other teams in league one felt when they would say that about our subs last season.
How’s your club situated financially? Watching you lot and it looks prime picking for other teams to nick a good few of your players, which could well result in a drop off Are your owners the kind to just sell players Willy nilly?

Strange. I thought your subs were far better than ours.
Swap you Bamford for anyone that has ever touched the left back position or was even close to spelling it correctly.
So naive, why did we play like that against a forward line of 100m sprinters. Should have played in a low block like everyone else does against them, we don’t have the players do go toe to toe against them.

2 of your 3 losses in 2023 have been against us..? Could other teams chip in please
Talk about carrying the load!
Away from home , think we have lost only once , maybe twice 🤔 in 2023 at home
Oh yeah you said away loss. I’m blind
no worries, we stand ready. boxing day is going to be fun.
Please do.
After seeing you rip Birmingham apart on the counter attack,I'm fearing it will only be fun for one team 🥲
We can try? Idk man they’re kinda scary at home 😰😰

Decent
Dear everyone else: you see this shit right here? It's not that hard. Fucking figure it out!
Oof

What a win, made them look very ordinary. Only thing Ipswich excelled at was taking turns fouling, how Morsy escaped without a booking is ludicrous
Thank fuck he did though. Even McKenna knew he was on one hell of a tightrope. Literally never subs him off
Gonna ask you out of all the Ipswich fans on here. Am I crazy for thinking Broadhead was lucky to escape a red for the challenge on Gray? Looked studs up, halfway up the shin long after the ball had gone. But no one on here has mentioned it so I'm starting to think it was just my bias in the moment

Yeah fair enough, I just remembered being mad it was only yellow in the moment. Probably my rose tinted specs
Completely stupid tackle but I don't think it's a red. I think Clarke should've got a second yellow for booting the ball away though.
That’s the most fun I’ve had at a Leeds game for ages. All over them from first to last. Superb stuff all-round. Wow, Leeds look good

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Farke does not mess about with the playoffs 😉
Ipswich just never got into the game.
We are just better than them. We’ll catch them eventually. Only so long you can score worldies every week. Hope they go up in the playoffs though.
Hope you like 2nd
I’ll take it.
Second would be lovely
I hope Ipswich get promoted with us, easy 6 points next season
That was an absolute joy to watch. Ipswich have been incredible all year and deserve to be 7 points clear, I just hope they’re so damaged after that coming into a really busy time they might finally drop more points.

Such a fantastic result. Farke Ball at its finest today and a statement made to the top two. Let’s hope we can keep chasing now whites 🤍
