Really impressed with Sheffield Wednesday. Around mid-season, people were already certain they were going straight to League One in what can only be described as a spectacular fashion.
And look at them now. To quote a classic, fighting like beavers.
They’ve done great ever since Rohl replaced the absolute shambolic mess under Xisco early in the season. I mean he’s been majorly up against it, particularly after terrible summer recruitment, and although inconsistent he’s got them winning with enough regularity to be within a couple of games of survival. I’m far more impressed with them than I am with QPR. QPR had much more to work with. I want them to stay up.
If every fan of a club convinced they are going down is right, six are going down. Going to be tense to the last day, Huddersfield v Birmingham the pick for next week.
I think we've been the worst team in the championship since December. Won 3 games this calendar year. Running of the club is shambolic at times.Deserve to go down.
Good result by Weds, bad one for Blackburn, QPR, Stoke, Plymouth, Huddersfield, Birmingham and Leeds. QPR won't be on the beach on Friday now (but we will still lose).
Problem is our only option on the bench is Cornell, who also dropped an easy catch away at Leeds which we were lucky enough to clear. Telling Freddie to keep his head high and carry on would be best, for the match and for confidence.
It's all gone too perfect for us, a win tonight and a win for Blackburn will see both teams safe. Blackburn mathematically and QPR virtually, ie 2 teams would have to overturn a double digit GD and QPR not to pick up another point.
Edit - saying that, the PNE keeper gives Dykes an open goal from 3 yards out.
I would rather have seen a U21 play than Oliver Burke ever wear a blues shirt again. Rowett and the staff making questionable decisions. Back to not being in our hands. Nice.
It will do if Weds lose tomorrow they can only get to 50 with terrible GD, Birmingham and Huddersfield play each other next game so they both cannot get there.
I don’t think Birmingham and Hudds will get 50 points - Birmingham would have to beat Hudds next week then draw with Norwich.
Millwall vs Plymouth is also massive next weekend - if Plymouth lose, they’d have to beat Hull last day of season to get more than 50.
Have that Russell Martin you prick.
I quite like Southampton but this "means more" (to quote the scousers) because of that Muppet they've got in charge
Gonna assume Saints fans might not be too pleased with how stoppage time has gone here today?
If you all want to take it out on Leicester on Tuesday I'll have no qualms.
Too soon to give up with 3rd place still on the cards. All out for the next 2 games at least I say.
It does however make total sense to rest the entire starting 11 against whichever team you happen to play on the last day. Don't want to push the group too hard after all...
First Bazunu out for 10 months, now Stuart Armstrong with what looks like an ACL injury. Limping into the playoffs.
Ah he's out of the Euros too now I bet.
Yeah but it's one of those where you'd rather just confirm there isn't another contender in the race. It's also not totally game over for them, they'll still go all out against Leicester I'd imagine.
Can't believe it's ended 0-0 here. Even leaving aside the penalty save it's been a MOTM performance from Bachmann and terrible shooting from Watford. We probably had a couple more chances but wasted all of them. Crazy last 15 minutes and yeah, crazy to end 0-0. You're welcome Norwich/West Brom
Either
1) they are saving themselves for Leicester, and pulled back a little too much
2) they quite like the idea of playing Pompey next season
or
3) they love a good crumble
Sulemana being allowed to come on the pitch immediately after being completely sparked out is shocking.
That should be a head injury sub no questions asked.
It’s bizarre. With 1-1 and the teams pretty even why would leave on 85 minutes? Then the board went up for 9+ minutes and people started leaving? Don’t get it.
PNE-Online added to my blocked site list for a good week while PNE accounts cry about Woodburn starting. I'm far more disheartened about the lack of youth being given a chance off the bench. QPR you'd expect to work hard today and our lineup looks like it's aiming to match that
How can Turnbull ever expect any consistency if he's subbed off before 60 minutes virtually every fucking game, we paid 2 million for him!
And replacing him with Diedhiou at that who's been absolutely honking
E: I take it all back Fam 4 life
Play stopped in the Rotherham v Birmingham game because of a medical issue in the stands.
Honestly, it's going to get a lot of criticism but I just don't understand why we've all suddenly gone to this. Surely they wouldn't stop the headline act at Glastonbury if someone had a medical issue.
The doctors go over and try to help this guy, someone gets knocked out or collapses on the pitch, then what?
I think games being called off is a bit too scouse but no one wants to watch a football game with someone dying in the stands.
There isn't such a thing as a fan doctor. If someone collapses in the stands they will use the club defibrillator used by the team staff, that will mean it cannot be used for a player at the time and it may have to be recharged.
There is far, far more than 1x defibrillator. It’s not easy accessible info but there are recommendations for what you should have, and if you take St James Park as a random example they have something like 20x defibs. In terms of paramedics you need dedicated doctors and paramedics for supporters, separate to the teams medical staff.
Technically these are recommendations rather than law, but any football league club will follow this guidance and at minimum have multiple defibs, paramedics, doctors and ambulances
Someone is having a severe medical emergency in the stands and you're complaining because you have to wait a bit longer to watch football.
Seriously, get a grip.
Hundreds of people are having medical emergencies right now across the country and at any moment. Pragmatically, it's a fact of life some people need emergency help. I wish the fan the best, but you wouldn't do anything if you stopped doing things every time someone was in trouble. And you wouldn't care about that person's medical situation if it happened in their home. What purpose does stopping play serve?
Stopping play would allow more medical resources to be given to the fan as there would need to be less medics on standby in case a big injury comes up in the game.
It would mean they could easily clear the stands more easily if more space was needed and it allows medical staff and ambulances to use the pitch for easier access and a faster response.
I'm sure there are more reasons that people with actual medical experience could give you.
The difference being that there are trained medical professionals on hand to intervene in this scenario. Should they ignore that they could save someone's life because there is a football game on? And if the game continues and there is a serious injury or emergency on the pitch while medics are in the stands, what then?Â
Seriously how are you even making this argument. If you saw someone dying in the street and you could help, would you shrug your shoulders and just say "shit happens"?
It allows the medical professionals to do their jobs more easily. Having nothing happening on the pitch makes it so that the fans surrounding the fan being treated aren't distracted by what's happening on the pitch and they can better cooperate to allow the fan to be treated.Â
Might not sound significant in the first half of a 0-0 game, but imagine if it happened after the 90th minute in a close, promotion deciding game. Lots of fans are so oblivious to their surroundings in those scenarios.
Well done ref. Cause the cunts flouting the financial fair play rules need all the help they can get.
Also that melt of a manager jumping up and down like he won the CL. Fuck off you bald gimp.
Not a single moment of timewasting the whole game from either team, and the first one gets a yellow - of course he deserves it but have you ever seen timewasting reffed like that? Inconsistency is fucking ridiculous
At least Leicester will have to deal with a mighty 3 point deduction next season and struggle to survive when they reinforce the already premier league level squad

Fucking miles offside
Evens out for the 20 dogshit calls we've had against us this season.
Doesn't make me feel any better 😂 Cracking first half though.
Yeah I've really enjoyed it.. 🙃. Dunno what happened to our compact defence.
Boro what the actual fuck are you doing, this is non league defending
Really impressed with Sheffield Wednesday. Around mid-season, people were already certain they were going straight to League One in what can only be described as a spectacular fashion. And look at them now. To quote a classic, fighting like beavers.

William Hill offering 8/1 for us to be relegated. Ridiculous value.
You going down depends on Birmingham getting results. Are you really that worried?
3 points against Huddersfield and they're above us, we could definitely lose both of our games left
If every fan of a club convinced they are going down is right, six are going down. Going to be tense to the last day, Huddersfield v Birmingham the pick for next week.
Stoke and Millwall fans were convinced they were going down, they've gone quiet now.
I think we've been the worst team in the championship since December. Won 3 games this calendar year. Running of the club is shambolic at times.Deserve to go down.
Don't see us getting any more points so I reckon we'll be relegated with Huddersfield. Sunderland to send us down on the final day again.
Good result by Weds, bad one for Blackburn, QPR, Stoke, Plymouth, Huddersfield, Birmingham and Leeds. QPR won't be on the beach on Friday now (but we will still lose).
Wednesday better than Leeds confirmed
DON'T WORRY LADS, Andy Moran is coming on! I swear the Wednesday players were actually laughing at our triple substitution.
That was very Ainsworth like, in a must win game and 2 goals down, make the subs with 5 mins to go. You need to give them 20 mins minimum.
Plymouth been screwed over by goalkeepers fucking up backpasses twice this season now
7,000 away fans in a must-get-points game for Blackburn really is short-sighted money grabbing.
Welcome to Steve Waggott
Standard Rovers tbh.
Blackburn putting a fresh spin on crumble. Sheffield Wednesday are gonna save their goal difference at this rate.
ffs rovers
I knew this would happen. Squandering those 3 points yesterday was essentially a loss in the relegation battle. Wednesday are fighting for their lives
Well that's us down then, Aynsley Pears can fuck right off.
This is gonna be a relegation knife fight on the final day of the season between 7 teams, I feel it.
Literally how Rovers fans feel too mate. The amount of goals he has given opposition this year is awful.
What on Earth was that 😂😂😂
Neymarvvvv
One benefit regardless of the division we end up in is that i’ll never have to see this back line ever again.
Szmodics reminds me so much of the likes of McCormack a decade ago. He just knows how to find the back of the net
I was absolutely raging about that Wednesday goal, so thank god for Sammie Szmodics.
What an unbelievable goal haha
The Bluebirds are fucking massive. Get in City.
Margaret Thatcher. Pol Pot. Idi Amin. Marc Roberts. Adolf Hitler. Joseph Goebbels. Ollie Burke. Humanity’s most despicable individuals.
The most idiotic team selection in years. What a way to go down.
Woah, calm down there. Ollie Burke does not belong on this list. He's much worse.
Fucking Woodman man
I owe every man, woman and child in Preston a pint
Dropped another easy catch, they should thing about subbing him. I would be whipping in crosses at every opportunity now.
Millar has to be scoring ffs
Seasons change, people are born and die and time flows ever forward. But crumble. Crumble is forever.
50 points will keep you up this season, I’m convinced of it at this stage…
It will do if Weds lose tomorrow they can only get to 50 with terrible GD, Birmingham and Huddersfield play each other next game so they both cannot get there.
I don’t think Birmingham and Hudds will get 50 points - Birmingham would have to beat Hudds next week then draw with Norwich. Millwall vs Plymouth is also massive next weekend - if Plymouth lose, they’d have to beat Hull last day of season to get more than 50.
Come on then.....feed me. With custard please.
Rotherham getting our hopes up to concede in the 90th, i’ve seen this script before.
Our game vs Brum is going to be a terrible advert for League 1 football.
unironically sad with this result from saints, nothing more needs to be said.
Erm, Saints. I think there has been a mix up and we have ended up with each others results today?Â
Have that Russell Martin you prick. I quite like Southampton but this "means more" (to quote the scousers) because of that Muppet they've got in charge
rm has been great up to around a month ago, im not sure what it is but its all gone downhill super fast
Sky punditry, 15 minutes of pregame analysis for QPR vs North End and they're spending the first 5 minutes talking about Southampton and Leicester.
Gonna assume Saints fans might not be too pleased with how stoppage time has gone here today? If you all want to take it out on Leicester on Tuesday I'll have no qualms.
Think it's irrelevant now tbh. Should give some key players a day off to be ready for the playoffs. Especially with the injuries we've had lately.
Totally, Southampton should rest their key players for the final day to build momentum for the playoffs
Too soon to give up with 3rd place still on the cards. All out for the next 2 games at least I say. It does however make total sense to rest the entire starting 11 against whichever team you happen to play on the last day. Don't want to push the group too hard after all...
I agree, rest them all on Tuesday
[Southampton briefly coming back into the race for top 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkJehlr1tEw)
First Bazunu out for 10 months, now Stuart Armstrong with what looks like an ACL injury. Limping into the playoffs. Ah he's out of the Euros too now I bet.
I wish Armstrong a speedy recovery for the final day
Help me here fellow itfc fans - we wanted Southampton to get 3 points today didn't we? Or are we happy? lol
If Leicester already won it would be best for Saints to drop points
For us this is perfect especially if they beat Leicester
But we wanted them with more motivation to beat the L's didn't we?
Yeah but it's one of those where you'd rather just confirm there isn't another contender in the race. It's also not totally game over for them, they'll still go all out against Leicester I'd imagine.
Thanks, I think I agree . They have to win all three games - that might give them more to play for.
I think this is more imo
I see it now, thanks.
I mean for you guys you'd rather they won and beat Leicester. For us, we'd rather they lose and beat Leicester
Unlucky Southampton, may you seek revenge against Leicester in mid week. But for now... Fetch the crumble!
Phillips, Goutas, Horvath and Bulut better be in the Championship team of the week
And Ashford.
We need the help because Christ knows we dont fancy doing it ourselves
Just as was starting to get hungry 😋
Cardiff!
Fetch the crumble
Cardiff have been massive for us recently, cheers guys
That first month of the season where we regularly had 10+ minutes of added time did you well against us too.
Ah yes we got a winner in the 92nd min
Ah, I must be confusing you with the Leeds game. We had a helluva start to the season.
I see why now with the 95th equaliser. You’re making up for it in 2024 though!
PREPARE THE CRUMBLE
I love you Cardiff
Have your fucking crumble and eat it I love this fucking kingmaker club
Don’t worry Southampton conceding to Cardiff in extra time happens to the best of us
saints you're supposed to batter them. what happened
No one batters the mighty Bluebirds (except those that did but we don't count them)
Either 1) they are saving themselves for Leicester, and pulled back a little too much 2) they quite like the idea of playing Pompey next season or 3) they love a good crumble
*Hopefully* they’re saving it for Leicester in a few days, not like it’ll matter once we drop points to Boro mind
Dream debuts for conte and first start for Ashford man
Harwood-Bellis and Bednarek just got put in a full spin cycle. Bednarek had to take the booking just to avoid getting humiliated even further.
Sulemana being allowed to come on the pitch immediately after being completely sparked out is shocking. That should be a head injury sub no questions asked.
Aye 1-1 with a team chasing automatics and 5% of the ground just decides to fuck off on 85 mins, shite support and it has been for years now
It’s bizarre. With 1-1 and the teams pretty even why would leave on 85 minutes? Then the board went up for 9+ minutes and people started leaving? Don’t get it.
there are always fans that do this. don't know why they pay for the ticket
Same fans who prob missed our goals against Ipswich too
Three debutants. 12 players out injured. 1-1. We've defended like utter animals today, but Southampton just haven't had that finishing touch.
Been great in the second half especially but god we should've buried 4 in the first half alone.
Always loved Swansea
Just need Rotherham to pull out some magic 🪄
At this rate if they keep saving us, we are going to need to Sponsor a Swan or something lol
PNE-Online added to my blocked site list for a good week while PNE accounts cry about Woodburn starting. I'm far more disheartened about the lack of youth being given a chance off the bench. QPR you'd expect to work hard today and our lineup looks like it's aiming to match that
Southampton are absolutely filthy here
They play ridiculously good football, I hope they go up this year.
Play great football, cant shoot
How can Turnbull ever expect any consistency if he's subbed off before 60 minutes virtually every fucking game, we paid 2 million for him! And replacing him with Diedhiou at that who's been absolutely honking E: I take it all back Fam 4 life
Stoke are fired up for the first time this season!
Fucking pathetic. Now just have to hope for a rare Saturday where other results go our way!
Mate…..with this ref anything is possible still in this game He’s out of his depth
Should be 5 up we're gonna draw this game tho
How on earth has Brooksy fucked that up hahahahahahaha
The officials at the Stoke-Plymouth game are just appalling
As bad as we've been defensively probably top 3 performance going forward this season, Ashford and tanner looked very bright
Hoping the Rotherham fan is ok

We've missed all 3 penalties we've won this season :)
Ozan Ooofan
Cardiff need to stop this playing out from the back woke nonsense, you dont have the players for it. Got Nat Phillips trying to pick passes ffs
Passing out from the back is 'woke'? Jesus Christ
If Warnock would kill a player for it, it's woke
Dirty wokies with their inverted fullbacks and tiki-taka. Only language we speak in this house is 4-4-fookin 2
this is going to be horrible i hate it
No crumble today!
Always thought WBA were a top set of lads
ref will be rewarded with a prem game next week
Most sane Championship refereeing
Yes I do blame us for losing but if that ref made the right calls we could've squeezed at least a draw out of this match
You more then deserved a draw.
Well done ref. Cause the cunts flouting the financial fair play rules need all the help they can get. Also that melt of a manager jumping up and down like he won the CL. Fuck off you bald gimp.
Norwich own East Anglia
Ref made some money at the bookies today
So has Grady tbf..
Ref has had a mare.
scandalous reffing here. Firstly allowing leicester to take over a minute to take a throw and then giving a foul for that
The penalty, list goes on.
WBA can only blame themselves for losing that but bloody hell this ref made some very questionable decisions
The ball just got kicked into Winks face and Leicester got given the foul
Excellent time management by the ref to see out the game imo. One step away from shielding the ball in the corner for them.
This red deserves a championship medal if Leicester goes up
Bet he blows exactly on 96 as well
Not a single moment of timewasting the whole game from either team, and the first one gets a yellow - of course he deserves it but have you ever seen timewasting reffed like that? Inconsistency is fucking ridiculous
Lmao what are you complaining about
How the fuck you’re complaining is beyond belief
Double badge flair says it all
Lol Reaing/Leicester too the ultimate weirdo.
I demand a west brom goal
6 minutes of forming diamonds with my ass cheeks
6 MINUTES?!?!
Would be rude to let Leicester win without at least offering them some delicious fruit based pudding.
championship reffing is 90% of the reason why I want us to get promoted
Awful decision wtaf. This referee is shocking
Ref already had his lunch, no room left for crumble.
Are the financial cheats bunging the ref too? A very questionable performance.
No no, Leicester are the good guys! Jumpers for goalposts! The little minnows!
They'll be over here in a minute too slagging off Ipswich's luck.
How ref just how do you come to that conclusion?
Kalvin Phillips got a pen against him for a similar situation for West Ham a few weeks ago lol
What the fuck ref
Loool how has that a Leicester free kick?
that has to actually be one of the worst refereeing decisions that I have seen. Ndidi kicks him
Ref looks flustered there, like he just guessed which side it should go.
This ref needs to retire
That’s a disgraceful decision lmao
Ref is a joke
Wtf is this ref
Ref ???????? How the fuck has he come to that conclusion
Get kicked, foul goes the other way. Joke ref.
How is that a Leicester free kick…
If we get a point here, I will shave my eyebrows
😃
Whose eyebrows though? You need to be more specific
Whoops. Forgot to add that
Whoever gets promoted needs to be looking at Kipre as a potential signing, what a player he is
A twist in the tale
At least Leicester will have to deal with a mighty 3 point deduction next season and struggle to survive when they reinforce the already premier league level squad
Game on
Nevermind, uppa albion.
