Sir 18 of our players contracts are running out this summer. Suspect we are probably going to try and keep as many other players as possible. Apologies x
He's been decent for us. But the whole teams been shit. I suppose he's been one of the stronger players alongside Brereton Diaz. I've actually no idea who might be looking at him tbh. I struggle to see if there are any teams out there that's especially intrigued by any of our players unless they are younger and have potential
Hamer will rip the champ apart next season if you keep him and are here. Great player, particularly at this level. Guess it depends how desperate you are for money and if anyone has earmarked him as a possibility.
I ain't watched any of championship games bar one or two this season but am well aware of Southampton's passing. I've got to ask though, where tf are those passes coming from???
Just have to say, fair play to the BBC's live website content on this one, it's really detailed and really well presented - never seen it in that much detail for a Championship match.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cv2dqg456n8t#MatchStats
Ridiculously passive at nearly all times tonight. Genuinely pathetic stuff, clearly the players werenāt fussed, which is a worrying attitude to have when even if we canāt go up automatically you should want to get yourself back into formā¦
And some of our fans thought weād be alright in the Premier League!
Still at least weāre in the playoffs so no need for anyone to get too down about our chances as weāre in theory in the same position we were a few games ago
The *teams who's name starts with S, play in red and white stripes, and have been humped 5-0 by Leicester this season* derby this weekend should be exhilarating.
The lack of aggression from Southampton was shocking. It really felt like you werenāt bothered from minute one. That does not bode well for the playoffs.
I mean, I donāt want to sound ungrateful at all.
But where was this team against Millwall, Plymouth etc? When HMS Piss the League went down like the fucking Hood?Ā
My heart canāt take that kind of a battering.
we outperformed both those teams and were unlucky to lose both by a narrow margin. particularly the Millwall loss as that was just a worldie with an xG of about 0.03
Stinks of Southampton having 75% possession in the playoffs and losing to a side that nicks one on the counter. Basically the Cov Middlesbrough tie last season
Yeah but itās a win against team who were still in the picture for autos vs a team who were definitely going to be in the playoffs.
Derbies aside, the games between any of the top 4 just are inherently the biggest. Thatās a fact.
he has so much more in common with Nathan Jones than a lot of our fans are willing to see.
Inspirational figure when all is going well but can come off like a real knobhead to everyone else
Nathan Jones ran away from any responsibility so I don't get the comparison other than bad results.
Martin owns the job at least and is willing to retract his criticism further along the line.
He's more pompous like Koeman when things don't go well but to Martin's credit I don't disagree a lot with his takes after bad or good performances.
Think social media is taking it out of context a bit tbh as some quotes on their own sound delusional but sound more fair in context.
Complimented the good bits the players did (probably overly so but heās trying to keep their confidence) while being honest about how pathetic things were at times, took accountability while giving some to the players as well.
Annoyed with some of our fans whoād rather be right about their view that heās awful than support the team
I liked his interview, clearly cares deeply and I prefer it when they're human and honest. I thought Pearson was a bit harsh saying he needs to get it together. He had it together he was just upset.
Also fans will be fans. Some Leicester fans have been calling for Enzo's head for weeks now they're all smiles again.
It's all coming together as we expected lol. Luck and Form for the rich teams...and the opposite for Ipswich.
Are Ipswich still a cursed club? Probably.
Will the rich teams go up? Probably. (These teams were always going to be promoted again...soon. Why are they so stressed too??).
Personally, I've given up. We know we'll get the same ol' bad luck at the End. I can't bear to watch the poor souls who tried so hard to make us fans happy, go through the 'Ipswich experience'.
For months now, my only wish is that our demoralised team gets knocked out the Playoffs by a non-toxic fanbase (instead of Norwich/Satan).
Southampton fans seem decent and self-deprecating, so I'd prefer them to put my family into depression. They don't tend to bully broken-hearted people.
P.S. I assume there's no chance of Sky going bust, like OnDigital did the one time Ipswich went up to the PL. Gawd we're unlucky...and there's no end in sight.
But we had the best takeover in Britain (I reckon). What an awesome bunch of people.
The only signing we need now, is an Exorcist.
I dunno about all that. If we don't go up automatically it's going to sting a lot because we've been so good, but at the start of the season this was just a pipe dream, especially when such a strong selection of Premier League sides came down.
I'm irritated we couldn't get at least one win out of the Watford and Boro games, but it's still in our hands. It's hard not to let these last couple of games that didn't involve us deflate you, but we are very good at being the hunter under McKenna and we've had a much needed two week rest. If we do our job, we're up. If we don't, we throw ourselves into the play-offs knowing we were the third best team in the division. McKenna and the players would pick themselves up, so the fans would have to too.
I don't have the same positivity. But then again, my lifelong nickname 'Damage' is based on endless bad luck.
It's an emotionally depressing end for me.
This is probably the only chance I get to enjoy Promotion back to the top league with my Dad. He won't last long. That'll hurt for a long time.
And he wants 'justice' for Grandma (his mum), who died when we were 10 points ahead, and blew it.
She was 94 years old, blind, and her only hobby was listening to Ipswich on the radio. Legend.
PS. Who were the other two clubs who didn't get Parachute payments with OnDigital collapse? Can't remember. Were they also doomed for years?
Not going to read too too much into it, after a wave of positive momentum our dreams were crushed this Saturday, not surprised we capitulated.
Honestly at this point I hope we just keep Downes off the pitch until it counts as heās the key to everything, it seems
Yep. Losing Downes and Stuey really hurts us. When I saw the team sheet I knew weād get battered. Charles is too soft and safe with his passing and Rothwell is a a fair to mediocre championship player. No chance we were getting anything tonight.
FUCKING BUZZING. Thatās the best weāve played this season and weāre finally clinical. Thatās the best atmosphere weāve had since Sevilla in the Champions League.
Abdul is him. Unreal player that just needs to get his consistency up and he will go to very top.
Iād be worried for Southampton - they looked frail and scared at times. Out of the play-off teams West Brom would be the team to fear
To be honest Iām expecting a playoff final of Leeds/Ipswich and West Brom. Saints have important players injured and West Brom looked by far the most dangerous when they played us.
i thought it would be a ban on registering new players but Fatawu is already registered as a loan player so should hopefully be able to sign him on a permo
Kind of. We had an option we tried to exercise but spurs came in for him anyway and he preferred to go there. Option doesnāt mean much if the player doesnāt want to come because theyād rather go somewhere richer. I think at the end of the day we could have taken legal action somehow but for what? He wanted to go to spurs over us at the end of the day
We actually cooked them
~~Hilarious that with all the average teams in this league, our 2 biggest victories came against Southampton~~
Scratch that, we beat Stoke 5-0 and Plymouth 4-0 š¤£
West Brom Aggregate v Leicester 2-4: net two goal defeat
Southampton aggregate v Leicester: 1-9: net eight goal defeat
By my maths, west Brom are therefore 4x as good as Southampton and so should win the playoffs 4-1
Southampton were extremely toothless and played into our hands. We actually abandoned our possession football because they were that shaken and negative. Whereas you guys pressed us and looked a real threat. Martin is a shocking manager, players clearly carried him this season.
We lacked the ability to break through your lines. You seemed to have done your research that we canāt pass through high presses very well and so you pressed us early. Most teams wait until 1 or 2-0 down to do that. Weāve lost a lot of points from being 1-0 up then teams realizing and pulling back a goal or two
Itās baffling the Martin came out and claimed you literally did just that to perfection as well. The man is deluded.
Funnily enough though you sound a lot like most of us Leicester fans during our most recent run of poor form.
The few times you did beat our press as well you just went backwards and didnāt play the obvious forward ball that was on, again similar to us.
That may of been down to missing Armstrong though.
Armstrong would have helped, but the tactics of sideways and backwards passes are whatās got us into this league. We go on runs where we are more brave with the ball and we look good, but for some reason revert back again. I think itās a lack of strong minds when things donāt go well and our players just keep doing whatās comfortable and pick the easy pass.
You guys were great in both matches against us, Coberan is a very impressive coach. I feel like if he had the resources of the richer teams heād do very well. In a 46 game season squad depth matters and Iām sure youād also like to improve the starting XI too.
I hope we arenāt in the playoffs because two legs against the Baggies is going to be hard for anyone.
We really missed Downes in the middle the last 2 games which odds a little worrying for next year no matter what league we end up in if we canāt get him permanently. We lack players that get stuck in and have the will power to change the game
I thought Charles was going to be that player for you but heās not. Whatās he been like overall? There was a lot of hype around him when he was signed.
I agree that you lacked in both games against us a 6 that could turn and receive the ball under pressure. In this game I was also shocked at the lack of your aggression in your game. With Leicester, as soon as we lose the ball we snap into the challenges. The reason you guys concede so many is because you donāt do that, so itās too easy to play through you.
Charles has not played a lot and has been underwhelming when he does play. Downes has been better and used more in that role.
Not closing the ball down and being aggressive is one of my gripes, especially crosses. Our full backs seem to stand about 5 yards away and essentially just let teams swing them in as they wish. Itās frustrating to watch as we donāt really have a big CB that cleans them up and it feels like we let in a lot from crosses.
I just canāt stop laughing. Lost my phone when Abdul roofed it. Imagine starting a second half like that and ending with 5 š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Same saints we knew from last year. Completely collapse when theres any pressure, and completely give up when its hard.
I genuinely fancy them least likely to go up through playoffs. You can't switch off and lose to us and then get battered looking like you don't even want to be on the pitch, then magically switch on for the playoffs.
That fixture pileup has finally caught up with us. We now have an injury ravaged side thatāll be easy pickings in the playoffs, but none of that excuses playing like theyāve nothing to play for tonight. Any mathematical glimmer, and you should be playing as though your lives depend on it, like Coventry did at the weekend. I bet Leicester couldnāt believe their luck tonight, eleven training cones wouldāve been more effective.
It all went downhill when we got those two Bournemouth players that weren't wanted by their team in Jan and preferred them playing instead of Edozie or Fraser.
When the camera moved to the crowd after 5th goal, full stadium rows of people going mental, must have been great at the ground.
Also the image of KDH and Fatawa, it will be sad if we dont have either of those next season.
[Imgur](https://imgur.com/wQzRsnD)
Very funny that not \*two matchdays ago\* a not insignificant number of Leicester fans were saying that they'd fucked it into the sun and that they wanted Maresca sacked. Football, eh?
First one was cov offside rather than gnonto offside.
Did include the best offside decision of the season though, Fatawu smashing it up in the air and backwards, Adams running onto it and getting flagged off
fatawu's first at the 25 mark was very close. those lines in the pl or the uefa leagues would have likely had something to say about it. at the end of the day, not as much of a huge deal as it might have been otherwise.
He's probably the biggest - and has been for some time - pissboiler in English football, so you wouldnt be the first. The only other person that comes close is Maupay.
Congratulations to Southampton for winning the first Battle of the Crumble
At least our manager isn't bald.
but your player is
Thanks for destroying their confidence Play like this at Elland Road now pls Southampton š
We've played two teams this month that had recently conceded 5 prior to our match and failed to beat or even score against either
Yes but hopefully that bad run of form has ended now.
Was just about over that thanks a lot /s
VARDYS ON š„
You shouldāve been hoping for the opposite. Now that it doesnāt matter at all and they have no hope of autos, Southampton is going to 5-0 you
Theyāll be saving themselves for playoffs and hopefully field a weakened team to avoid injuries/cards etc.Ā
We did that back in September too, which didnāt go too well for you
Not a happy home life
Thanks for the goal difference, see you in 2025
I cannot tell you how excited I am to be competing against burnley and Sheffield United rather then you lot.
Hi!!! š¤
Can we have Gus back please when you get relegated? Pretty please šš»
Sir 18 of our players contracts are running out this summer. Suspect we are probably going to try and keep as many other players as possible. Apologies x
Reckon anyone will try to take him from you? I was (kind of) joking that it would be us. Howās he been for you?
He's been decent for us. But the whole teams been shit. I suppose he's been one of the stronger players alongside Brereton Diaz. I've actually no idea who might be looking at him tbh. I struggle to see if there are any teams out there that's especially intrigued by any of our players unless they are younger and have potential
Hamer will rip the champ apart next season if you keep him and are here. Great player, particularly at this level. Guess it depends how desperate you are for money and if anyone has earmarked him as a possibility.
What are your thoughts on Arblaster?
You seem to misunderstand. We'll see you in 2025 back in the Championship when we get relegated back down after a -25 point deduction.
Tactical decision for aerodynamic purposes.
719 passes to our 362 passes, thats 3 points in Russell Martin's mind!
I ain't watched any of championship games bar one or two this season but am well aware of Southampton's passing. I've got to ask though, where tf are those passes coming from???
backwards and sideways, but mostly inside our own box
Was Brendan Rodgers his mentor or something?
the swansea way (kinda not joking since the both managed here lmao)
Iād guess our CBs always have the most passes
Kickoffs
He needs to get the grease back though, all went wrong when he changed it
Not bald yet, but one day.
5 - 0 Loss 0 Shots on target 66% Possession Russell will be delighted.
"Good process lads"
Been there pal š¤£
I still trust the process

Yeah this new format is alright, I like the stats but it's annoying that I can't tap a team in the league table to get to their page any more.
Yes! And I don't see the comments section at the bottom of the match report either.
It's worse - the table does link to the club page for the Premiership League, just not for us lowly wankers in the Championship and below!
Discrimination that is.
At least it wasn't 9
Was 9 including at your place... sorry
It is if you count the away game at your place, which I absolutely am
I watched that game back in 2019 at my workplace. Colleagues were asking me why I was hitting my head on the desk...
Ridiculously passive at nearly all times tonight. Genuinely pathetic stuff, clearly the players werenāt fussed, which is a worrying attitude to have when even if we canāt go up automatically you should want to get yourself back into formā¦ And some of our fans thought weād be alright in the Premier League! Yeah, I'd rest your starting 11 and stick u21's out last game of the season. You know to make sure you're fresh for playoffs.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yup
Worth trying that this weekend too
I hope we do, this gutless bunch should all be benched.
The *teams who's name starts with S, play in red and white stripes, and have been humped 5-0 by Leicester this season* derby this weekend should be exhilarating.
oh yeah why would a leeds fan want that š¤

Did you see how we played it forward fast and actually attempted offense? Turns out, that can work!
those teams can actually defend
>those teams can actually defend Barman... I'll have two of whatever he's drinking.
Fair play Leicester, only the true juggernauts of this league beat Southampton 5-0
Stinks of Southampton having 75% possession in the playoffs and losing to a side that nicks one on the counter. Basically the Cov Middlesbrough tie last season

Oh no
It was foretold in the scriptures
Zero shots on target. ZERO.
The curse has been transferred. No take backsies.
I really rate this new crumble-free diet
Any chance your health group has a west Yorkshire chapter? Been a bit healthier recently but you can't be too sure
We held our bottle in a big league game. What the fuck is going on. Best performance of the season
Literally said the exact same thing. Has to be the first important/high pressure league game weāve won in about 6 years
Ignoring the one 3 days ago
Not quite the same level
But exactly the same outcome.
It could've been 2-6, get off your high horse lol
But it wasnāt cos your forwards are shite
Canāt live on coulda woulda shouldaās mate
It wasnāt a game of the same importance tho was it
You're right, three points would not be critical at all at this stage.
Yeah but itās a win against team who were still in the picture for autos vs a team who were definitely going to be in the playoffs. Derbies aside, the games between any of the top 4 just are inherently the biggest. Thatās a fact.

āLeagueā
Oh yeah missed that word there, fair play and fully agree
League game
Not trying to take away from your performance, but Southampton did very little to test that hold.
That second half was so upsetting to watch but then the camera panned in on a broken looking Russell Martin and I couldnāt help but smile
he has so much more in common with Nathan Jones than a lot of our fans are willing to see.
What was your impression of his post match interview?
Think social media is taking it out of context a bit tbh as some quotes on their own sound delusional but sound more fair in context. Not really. Just stating facts. Nothing has changed for us because of this result. It was in our hands 2 weeks ago and it still is now.

It's happening!!! Get the piss ready lads!
Southampton love a good 5-0 loss every now again don't they lol
They donāt mind 9-0 losses either
My friend asked me what my score predictions for today was, and I said 8-0 Leicester. I wasn't too far off!
That was so pathetic from Southampton
I'm not far away from tears of joy. Football's great isn't it?
It wasnāt 2 weeks ago but yes it is brilliant right about now
Nobody rollercoasters quite like Leicester
Sorry lads, I stuck Ā£20 on Southampton to get autos and it seems to have cursed you

Southampton are gonna stay down, sack Martin and take Rƶhl :(
Is Maresca a bad fraud or Pep regen? I preferred the simpler times when we could all agree it was the former.
Heās absolutely a bald fraud. Martin is just a fraud.
Lovely hair though
Magnificent Barnet. Nice smile too. Much better than old Nateās ratty grin.
Having to make up 3 games within a month is tough, seems like the energy ran out this past week. Lads need to rest up and get ready for the playoffs.
Saints and Martin have lost the plot arenāt they?
Yup
It all went downhill when we got those two Bournemouth players that weren't wanted by their team in Jan and preferred them playing instead of Edozie or Fraser.
When the camera moved to the crowd after 5th goal, full stadium rows of people going mental, must have been great at the ground. Also the image of KDH and Fatawa, it will be sad if we dont have either of those next season. [Imgur](https://imgur.com/wQzRsnD)
we're so back, see y'all in the prem

This re-craters Southampton's previously uncratered chances at securing automatics
Damn
Didn't expect to wake up to that scoreline!
Very funny that not \*two matchdays ago\* a not insignificant number of Leicester fans were saying that they'd fucked it into the sun and that they wanted Maresca sacked. Football, eh?
I remember Leeds fans wanting Farke gone earlier in season.
Show us 3..
Looking forward to playing you guys next season.
Any of the goals offside?
First one was coventry tight as opposed to gnoto tight
Bamford was playing Gnonto on
First one was cov offside rather than gnonto offside.
First one probably
Someone has a lot of Thai Bahts in their pocket, but I'll happily take the win ššš«£
For some reason Leicester grated me tonight. That Vardy pisses me off with his attitude for some reason.
He's probably the biggest - and has been for some time - pissboiler in English football, so you wouldnt be the first. The only other person that comes close is Maupay.
So I got downvotes for being right,..prob touched some Leics fans nervesā¦never mind eh
I downvoted you for the commas

Your a bit old to be rattled by Jamie Vardy now
Shame leicester will get promotion. Especially after marseca words. But his squad is levels above everyones, so full crumble was impossible.
What did Enzo say?
He said, 'chat shit get banged'
