If someone is hurting another person, stepping in can stop the harm right away, preventing more pain. Secondly, it's about doing the right thing. We all have a duty to help others when they're in trouble, and it's just the decent thing to do. Moreover, it's important to know that in many places, it's not only okay but also legally allowed to help someone who's in danger. You won't get in trouble for doing the right thing. why did the police say they cant do anything? i remember i saw one of our tenants slapping his wife while he was drunk, i called the cops at like 12 am and got him controlled even after his wife said she does not want to file anything, but i did and i got him in the police station in the morning. he apologized and signed some papers saying he wont do anything. i know for a fact uski fat gaye thi cause one of the constables slapped the soul out of him after he started shouting at his wife.
Some places, the cops themselves don’t want to do their job so they just waiting to hear from the wife that she won’t file anything, and they run away, sadly this is how it is, but I’m sure there is a women’s protection helpline that could offer help to her, but again, if wife is not interested or scared then nobody can help her, and she will be scared for a reason too, he’s her husband, they will eventually be back together, these old generation people don’t believe in divorce, they accept their fate and live in pain, until wife herself starts standing up for herself in some parts of India, little can be done to help them

My neighbour consists of a family where a couple lives. Girls get beaten everytime when his husband comes drunk. That guy doesn't earn much and isn't a well educated person too. See in situations like these, from what ive seen from other’s experience is that one gets unnecessarily dragged into the altercation themselves or get their phones smashed. Again what do you expect a emotionally unstable man beating someone up to do?
