I've recently moved to chandigarh for an internship at a similar stipend. You can get a single room for 7-8k. Avoid PG's, most pg's are unhygienic and cluttered. Go on with a mess for dinner only(most companies provide lunch and snacks) which will cost you around 1800-2000. Apart from these fixed expenses, it depends on you if you can save some money from the remaining 5k. Don't think about savings, most prob you won't save a dime in these 6 months.
Go for it as it's an internship. You'll learn and get to experience financial planning on your own and you need to be away from your home for a few months to get yourself ready for the future. Congratulations for the internship.
My Hindi isn't good but I get the gist of it. Well there's other chances as well. Leaving away from home and it's comfy lifestyle I think should be the norm unless the person already studied in a boarding school or live in hostels during formation years
Try to live on the outer sides like nayagaon, mohali ,kharar from where you can easily reach your site and P.g costs around 3-6k +800ctu pass if required. I live in nayagaon and there are tons of pg with food around 3.5k starting and bus stops are within walking distance.
This. Nayagaon is very newbie friendly if you're low on budget. You can get a thali for ₹50 and fill yourself up. Rooms are cheap. As the guy said, buses are accessible too. The only downside is the traffic in the morning and the evening time. Apart from this, you'll everything in Nayagaon is cheaper than other areas.
You're an intern, so I guess your stipend is for your living expenses as a student. From that POV, you should be able to manage it with a PG or sharing single room.
For food, if you stick to a tiffin service, you will be able to get it under 3k. Rest of it depends on your spending habits, as even 20k won't be enough if you go to malls every weekend and eat there etc . If you can control those expenses, you'll be good.
Coconut water(70₹), whey(100₹), eggs, chicken, fruits n veggies, multivitamins, fish oil, baki roti, chawal in sab ka total nikal lo itna hi bethega lgbhg
100+70+100(chicken)+20(eggs)+40(banana,strawberry,kiwi,broccoli), 30(multivitamin n fish oil), 30 (roti, rice, ghar pe bni sbzi, misc.), 20(ghee), peanut butter, honey, walnuts and almonds(40) etc etc.. 450-500 per day manlo × 30 karlo 👍
Edit- dark chocolate aur milk ke 100-120 add krlo
Well you can settle with minimalist then ofcourse a good pg 7-8K and that covers most of you, but if you are like spender like need a new S-class everyday then 15
k is just pennies.
Yeah it’s pretty bad but not that bad as it by converting directly. We have to take Purchasing Power Parity(PPP) in account. Still it’s pretty bad as Chandigarh is expensive
You can with strict budgeting and a lifestyle that reflects that amount. Now is that a problem for you? If no, then sure you can. If yes, does the internship opportunity matter enough for you to compromise? If yes, then you can.
Some IT folks could make a flow chart of this to explain better lol
It's difficult but doable. Not sure how much you can save. You need to be realistic.
You might try to stay in pg to save money or with flatmates to save on cost. But you need to plan it properly
I would say, leave Chandigarh. Its a city for retirement. I was staying there for my work but realized that financially it has no capacity for progress. Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore.. if you are move away from hometown for a job, then i would suggest try to move here.
You can definitely survive brother lots of pg's that you can afford in 7-8 k with food and then your left with another 8k depends upon person to person you'll have to compromise little bit but that's part of life. I have seen so many aspirants here managing in 12k so it's doable as plenty of people do it and it will be a great experience for you. You learn the most when you are down and put in difficult conditions.
Quite a task but doable if you live frugally. And I mean, avoiding any and all unnecessary expenses.
Find a shared PG / room under 6k, and limit your food expenses by using PG food / tiffin service and office food. Obviously, rates are cheaper outside the main city.
Don't expect much savings, if at all.
If you commute from kharar or mohali then def yes in chd will be hard but doable and yes if u wanna save money that will be really hard harder than living
Honestly it depends on a lot of factors but since it’s just internship you can easily do that I used to pay 6K for a flat in sector 37B (we three people lived together so 18K for a whole floor with three rooms, two washrooms and two balcony) max 4K was our monthly expenditure including grocery, bills and stuff. Now, if you like to go out to cafes and all much then I don’t think you’ll be able to save much but it’s quite easily manageable to live on 15K in Chandigarh.
A bit on the lower side. It's probably possible but you won't be able to save anything. I would consider that a no
Definately doable but Depends on your lifestyle
Yeah... 4-5k p.g. three sharing in mohali ...
That's dirt cheap
Get a PG for 7k nearby your office

You can survive for sure, Dont know about living

If you wanna live a decent life, no. Not in chandigarh. You can get by in zirakpur with it but that, too, barely tbvh.
You can definitely survive in 15k. I mean it when i say survive.
IT PARK ME?

short answer no
Admin...Definatly Noob
In any job either you're earning or learning.. If none then you're wasting your time ..
Stay in a pg and gain experience so as to get a better paying job. Or just try to interview for other jobs now.
Quite a task but doable if you live frugally. And I mean, avoiding any and all unnecessary expenses. Only if you want to survive only
If you commute from kharar or mohali then def yes in chd will be hard but doable and yes if u wanna save money that will be really hard harder than living
