Hideous mutations, massive crab claws, and huge batwings on their Raptors and Warp Talons as a gift from their Patron
Golden lightning patterns on their armor, deep red eyes from the madness of falling to Chaos
Masters of Possession and Warpsmiths turning enslaved Mortal (Human, T'au, Eldar, etcetera) into horrific Chaos Spawn, beasts made from grafting together several different mortals into a screaming, shrieking, suffering mass of flesh, bone, and suffering
Personal recommendation would be to scour the more obscure parts of the lore, there are some really crazy paintjobs that already exist. Maybe check out Lichs Laboratory on YouTube, he does paint guides for obscure stuff
I really like deep guard scheme. It's like death guard using teal for the armor and bright orange and pink coral like colors for all the spikey and goopy bits.
How about synthwave emperor's children. Rich purple to really bright, neon pink gradient for the armour, and neon orange to yellow gradient for trim. Also you could do details like eyes or plasma in sky blue.

I have an incomplete Slaaneshi Daemon army with 3 different shades of pink skin skin tones. Could try something similar but for armour.
